Just as importantly, the "cowboy justice" *isn't* always delivered. Sometimes in real life the bad guys win, and it sometimes happens on NCIS as well. We don't have to like it, just live with it.

I find it intensely interesting that the gal playing Abby, Pauley Perrette, actually has a degree in the stuff she plays on TV. Just as Sean Murray operates a computer business and they both been able to make contributions to the writing.

Maybe not leftist but definitely PC. Like all modern crime dramas, 99% of the time the murderer turns out to be a white male despite the fact that statistically, at least 70% of the violent crime in this country is committed by minorities. When Blacks are shown, they are cops, police captains (in NCIS, the boss), doctors, lawyers, judges, scientists, etc. When they are suspects in a crime, they are almost always exonerated. All these crime dramas could get the same title – "When White Men Attack".

Both NCIS and its spin-off Los Angelos have have been very influence toward many Americans. It is clearly an underrated show. I am also a big fan of Criminal Minds.

I love the Ilya Kuryakin references – he was my first TV crush at the tender age of six or seven (had good taste even then). And you've gotta love all of DiNozzo's homages to Magnum (another Bellisario masterpiece).
