Is There Hope for Alec Baldwin? Or Just Change?
by Mr. Wrestling IV
Just a Couple of Supply-Siders
Progressive liberal Democrat Alec Baldwin sent many heads spinning all over the blogosphere when he recently said this:
I’m telling you right now,” the actor warned, “if these tax breaks are not reinstated into the budget, film production in this town is going to collapse, and television production is going to collapse, and it’s all going to go to California.
Now the rich absurdity of a statement like that coming out of the mouth of Alec Baldwin has been chronicled many places all over the web (most notably in the Wall St. Journal), and the fascinating “why?” of it all is still being sorted out. Has he had an economic spiritual awakening? Has he gone insane? Or is he simply a narcissistic hypocrite who only wants tax breaks for the industry that pays him exorbitant amounts of money for saying words other people write during the two or three grueling, catered days a week that he actually has to go to work?
Whatever the answer is, there is one thing in Mr. Baldwin’s otherwise shockingly accurate statement that is utterly wrong. I can ease his mind totally about one thing: when his beloved 30 Rock flees New York because of the removal of the tax incentives that brought it there, the one place it will not be heading for is California.
Just as Alec has said will happen in New York, the film business is fleeing California’s punitive taxation for states that are cutting taxes to attract the huge revenues that full-blown film productions generate. As reported in the LA Daily News, the number of production days for feature films shot in California hit a record low of 7,043 in 2008, according to Film L.A., while the Michigan Film Office approved incentives for 73 film productions in 2008, up from three in 2007. Michigan’s Gov. Granholm has offered cash refunds from the state of Michigan of up to 40%, the highest incentive in the country, for film and TV productions that spend more than $50,000. If all the films that applied for incentives in Michigan actually get made there, they are expected to generate $436 million in revenues to the state’s struggling economy.
New Mexico, Louisiana, New York and Georgia have similar tax incentives and all have seen massive increases in film production in their states. So Alec seems to be on to something here: when you tax a product or business, you actually DISCOURAGE IT FROM OCCURRING! Incredible! And when the business doesn’t happen, nobody gets a job! Amazing! The business moves to other states where people are employed, paid money, and then taxed, with more revenue accruing to the state coffers! Breathtaking!
So with this unforeseen burst of wisdom emanating from one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, what will the state of California do to keep its most unique and profitable industry working within its borders?
Nothing.
From Jack Kyser, chief economist at the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.:
The rubric in Sacramento is, “Oh, we can’t do these incentives. It’s just welfare for the big corporations.” But they don’t understand how the industry works. Why are other states offering these incentives? It’s because it creates jobs and tax revenues. This is the message they have been trying to get through to the people in Sacramento – “It’s not going to cost you more money. It’s going to bring money to you.”
This is why the State of California cannot and will not ever work as long as one party –one ideology, I should say, since the supposedly “Republican” Governator doesn’t get it either – dominates every branch of state government. It is an endless and unstoppable cycle: the State raises taxes because they have a shortfall. Businesses leave the state to avoid the taxes. Individuals leave the state because there is no work because the businesses left. The tax base shrinks. The tax raises do not create the expected revenues because of the flight of individuals and businesses. Another shortfall is created. The legislature votes to raise taxes again. More businesses leave. Lather, rinse, repeat.
So the big “WHY?” rears its head again. Why can’t the state legislature of California have the same epiphany that Alec Baldwin has apparently had? The liberals and progressives that run California seem to understand this when they tax cigarettes to discourage smoking, and tax gasoline to discourage driving. They are keen on discouraging Big Tobacco, and Big Oil, and Big Pharma. So why don’t they use the same principle to ENCOURAGE Big Hollywood? Like Alec Baldwin, are they stupid (unable to understand it), insane (incapable of grasping reality), or just mendacious (willingly degrading prosperity for the sake of increasing their own power)?
Sad to say, I think it is the latter. Alec Baldwin, unlike his fellow liberal/progressive comrades in government, needs to get a paycheck from a business enterprise. Liberal politicians do not. And the more businesses they run out of their states, the more crises they create, the more misery they spread around, the more they increase and deepen their power base because they make themselves, the almighty State, the source for all sustenance. And the more secure their unlimited term in office becomes.
The bottom line is a bold statement that I have made on numerous occasions among friends, resulting in some scoffs and protestations (and many fist bumps), but absolutely no substantive refutations:
Liberal/Progressive Democrats cannot stand it when anyone makes money (except for them). It is unfair, they have done it on the backs of the poor, they are benefiting unfairly (except for them).
And Alec Baldwin has had his moment of clarity because the state of New York might decide not to say “Except for them.”
The only hope that any of us have is that enough people who actually have to work for someone else for a living, like even the great Alec Baldwin, will realize this and vote the liberal/progressive/Democrats out before there are no New Mexicos, Michigans, New Yorks, or Georgias left to flee to in order to do business without punitive tax rates.
The Change Alec Baldwin believed in and voted for is coming, and it is coming for his mailing address. But it won’t Change to Beverly Hills, Alec. You won’t be hanging out with your Left Coast buddies. It will Change to Detroit, New Orleans, Valdosta, or Albuquerque.
Because California, apparently, doesn’t want the business back.

I see your finishing move is the "pile driver of truth"! Wonderfully written my masked friend!.
"Or is he simply a narcissistic hypocrite who only wants tax breaks for the industry that pays him exorbitant amounts of money for saying words other people write during the two or three grueling, catered days a week that he actually has to go to work?"… Yes.
Baldwin and the other vapid Hollywood dimwits need to remember the saying: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. For liberals however it is their naive intentions that have led to this economic collapse. This is one of many reasons why I will never hire a liberal.
"Why can’t the state legislature of California have the same epiphany that Alec Baldwin has apparently had?"
Because it's not about revenue. It's not even about taxes (hard to believe). It's always about power. Taxes are restraints on freedom. The more the tax, the greater the restraint. A tax "break" releases this restraint. It allows people and companies to do what they want: to produce, grow, thrive.
It's not that liberals don't understand that lower taxes mean greater revenue. They do. They simply DO NOT CARE.
Hollywood liberals:
Rich in passion; impoverished in intellect.
Obama said it as much. I believe it was an interview with the great Charlie Gibson, where he was told that revenues increased under JFK and Reagan by huge amounts. He actually agreed with the premise that the government would bring in more money if taxes were cut. But in the next breath, he said that he didn't care and that he just wanted to be fair. So you're correct that taxes to the liberal, Democrat machine isn't about bringing in money for essential government to work, it's about sticking it to someone.
Hard as it is to fathom, it may be that Bladwin is softening up a little. When Sarah Palin did her stint on SNL, he actually had nice things to say about her when all his buddies had her pegged as the spawn of Satan. Of course, this is the same guy who once said that Republicans should be lined up against the wall and shot–so take this for what it's worth.
You know what they say about a broken clock…
Worse, t will also (continue to) Change to Canada. All those millions of dollars flowing out of our country. Our rotten vampires liberals running California from Suckramento are destroying this state before our very eyes. From Schwarezentraitor to Speaker Karen Bass-Ackwards to all the mayors who each think they'll be our next governor, we're being squeezed to death. The one unique non-agricultural industry that was fostered here and for years been exported around the world is being shoved out the door through the short-sightedness of these idiots, with a generous wallet and electoral assistance from the dummy industry libs who keep putting the same self-destructive ideologists in office. May they all be visited by the ghost of Payday Future before all is lost.
When will the Hollywood liberals realize that the bourgeoisie bes them?
And for some real head-shaking lib-progressive propaganda espoused by Alec Baldwin, check out this video he did promoting The Democratic Promise: Sal Alinsky at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExnWQZDhHNw
I love this site, but think it is a mistake to indulge in personal attacks on the likes of Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, or any of the other so-called "Celebutards". It's the conservative concepts which are important, and if the concepts are sound, we should welcome anyone who "sees the light" regardless of their reasons for doing so.
is it possible that stephen baldwin is feeding subliminal messages to alex while he sleeps?!
Now, If Granholm can take the same offer that she made to the film industry and offer it to the businesses she chased away from here in Michigan, maybe we can stop our decline. But I'm guessing we are going to have to wait for a new governor.
Aw, you beat me to it. This is exactly what I was going to say.
I think this demonstrates the point that liberals don't "get" the effect of increased taxes until if affects them directly.
I would say that it may be because Stephen is now a born-again Christian and a conservative, his prayers for brother Alec may finally be producing a little fruit.
Also, if production of films and TV shows is forced to move out of New York and California and into the "flyover" states (one of my least favorite terms) maybe the celebs will have to rub shoulders more often with "everyday" Americans and get a little clue about the world.
Oh those New Yorkers. How can they not understand that movie stars are special? Special ideas, special goals, special social standing, special talent, and in most cases, special needs and special education. Crippling taxation is for thee and me, but not for them–they're special. Taxes on the "rich" should never be imposed on the artistes. How very philistine of you. Even the rules of economics don't apply to this special class. Heavy taxation is good for business, unless it's the movie business, in which case it's bad. John Maynard Keynes was right, except for the movie industry where Professor Laffer is right, because movie stars are special. If only there were a few more articulate intellectuals like Alec Baldwin, the movie industry wouldn't have to suffer under burdensome taxation like the rest of us poor slobs
Man, if you put some power guitar chords and a shrill, lead-man-in-a-hair-band "Rock Ooooon!" at the end of that article, you'd have scored 3 big 10's in the judges box, my friend.
But the point being made here is that Alec only see the light when it affects his own little world, and does not apply the same concepts to the rest of the country. He doesn't want taxes to increase in his world but still supports a party that has no problem taxing the rest of the world. He beleives that taxes will drive the entertainment industry out but when other businesses or individuals are taxed, it's the government making things "fair."

Of course the downside is that these celebs would move to the "flyover" states, take up residence and then register to vote.
*shudder*
Its already pretty bad here in Colorado (probably too late for us, we'll be California in a decade).
I bet they all live near Boulder, because that's where the good weed is.
Personal attack? This wasn't a personal attack! I took all the fat jokes OUT!
Wow, have you just said a mouthful! That is the gist of the whole thing. It doesn't matter what works, it matters what is "fair", but who defines "fair"? Is Obama the Grand Poobah of Fair? Will there be a Fairness Czar? How about if we all just took of ourselves and let the chips fall where they may and let the government stay the hell out of it.
We'll gladly take the TV business, and more movies shooting here in MI. The movies that have shot here have been a welcome means of life support for many of us in the business.
HA.
That's where they started, now they're spread all over the place (especially bad in Aspen, Telluride … heck, most of the sky areas, and Denver too). Couple that with the union-thug/mafia type folk that made Pueblo their summer home back in the 30s and the transsexuals that set up shop down in Trinidad and we have obnoxious liberals of all kinds all over the place.
Their latest area of conquest is my beloved El Paso County (Colorado Springs). Californians and other liberals moving here in droves for the cheaper cost of living (brought about by years of conservative/libertarian policies).
Ugh … Utah or Wyoming is starting to look good.
I agree. But the Politburo, run by Obama, Nancy, Harry, Barney, etc. will decide what's fair and to who will be the recipients of said fairness.
Tood, is that Bill Clinton in the hot dog suit? If so, you should win some sort of avatar prize!
It is Bill Clinton in a hot dog suit. I saw it and had to have it. Such a great picture.
====We'll gladly take the TV business, and more movies shooting here in MI. =====
Only if you promise to keep them.
Fantastic!!
(By the way, meant "Todd", not "Tood", sorry about the typo.)
Perhaps he doesn't apply the same concepts to the rest of the country yet, but he's on the right path.
The road to conversion either comes in a lightning bolt for some, or an incremental series of revelations for others. Some people just need a little more time before the full truth dawns on them. It is never productive to argue a point or cast aspersions against someone who agrees with you, or moving in your direction. Also it makes no sense to attribute evil or selfish motives to persons whom you eventually want to convert. Take your victories where you find them, and always give your opponent the opportunity to save face.
I like Alec Baldwin as an entertainer, and eventually hope that he follows the political path of Dennis Miller.
Yes. He is. I read his rant on Huffpo a few days ago and lets just say for everything logical he said in the statement about taxes he basically smears it all with his stupidity about Limbaugh etc.
LOL!!
And the 800lb gorilla in the room (besides Alec) that Jack Kyser refuses to notice is that maybe lowering costs might work. What a government, tax the hell out of you then give some back as an incentive.
[...] Baldwin Decries Higher Taxes As reported and discussed many many many places, Alec Baldwin seems to have had a bit of an epiphany with regards to the wealth-destroying [...]
Hey, at least the cows are happy. ( http://www.realcaliforniamilk.com/ )
Yeah, I find that double standard incredible. Do these guys have some super secret tax accountant that finagles the books so they don't pay taxes? Must be, or I don't think they'd be so rabid to call for this massive increase. If not – then they are complete dopes.
After watching Arec in Team America, I think he ought to contact his brotherhood at the Film Actors Guild and put pressure on Governor
"All Animals are Equal, but some are more equal than others! Four legs good! Two legs better!"
They already pollute places like Montana because they can buy 10,000 acres and live amongst the little people.
I'd look at it a little differently. Clearly Baldwin is no fool, perhaps merely surrounded by sycophants. He just needed an awakening to how the world really works. Welcome aboard the Reality Train Alec. Let's hope your journey is a meaningful, profound, and productive one!
We can always hope that the lights go on for more people who make films.
And we can hope that the example of film business picking up and moving will be applied to understanding of how other businesses work.
Some of the incentives for film production (as far as I know they are still in place) in New Mexico seem extravagant, almost bizarrely so… but if anyone wants to buy my script, as I understand it, the State will give you 25% of what you pay *me* back again. (Black Ops shape-changers become entangled with a Army SF unit in the War on Terror.) And if you film here in this place that looks very much like the 'stan of your choice, that 25% applies to all money spent here, plus there are other incentives, interest free loan programs, that sort of thing.
Last I heard.
Monsters, and they're on our side. C'mon, you know you want to do it.
Hope they're hiding their money in offshore accounts, like Hollywood's new playground, Dubai. The come-uppance? Dubai's going broke even faster than we are.
"The Alec Baldwin types of the world only "get it" when they are affected directly."
Whoopie came to this same epiphany on "The View" of all places, recently.
They are all for taxing the hell out of everyone else but now that they are starting to take it in the shorts and so are the businesses that they work for suddenly there is something wrong with it.
I guess we should just be thankful that they are starting to see the error of their ways and "hope" it's not to late.
Perhaps the biggest motivation for many of these "special" among us is that they will soon have to reside in one of the fly over states to do business. After all the really nice things they have had to say about them I'd imagine this is what drives them the most into wanting tax breaks. They don't want to have to hang out with the those that cling to their guns and their god.
It's going to be a long four years full of sudden realizations by many who had once beat the Obama drum.
The only "change" you can trust is the change you'll find in your pocket.
Quite a few films are not shot in the big cities any more. "A League of Their Own", for example, was shot mostly in my hometown (population 121,000) and just up the road a few miles (population 5,000). Madonna was just as snotty to us as if it were L.A. or New York. Celebrities only have to "endure" us for a few weeks during filming and then they go back to the Big Apple or the Left Coast with the same attitude they brought with them.
"the pile driver of truth"! LOL! That's great, I can't wait for the next bout with which ever Hollywood "do gooder" sees the light next.
The two great torch bearers of liberal ideology CA and NY are crumbling. To many hands out and not enough hands working. CA has been unfriendly to businesses for quite some time now and they are reaping what they have sowed.
OK, the glass is half full.
I don't see him going any further than middle of the road, but I guess that's a lot better than where he is now
George Cloony is filming here in St Louis as we speak.
Honestly if David Horowitz can make it to our side anyone can … Horowitz was about as far gone as Bill Ayres.
Worse yet. They'll buy up the local farms and ranches, destroy the environment, build huge mansions, and sit around clipping carbon offset coupons for their heated swimming pools, crystal chandeliers, air conditioning, and fuel for their private jets that take them back to civilization in the blue states.
Well thank god for the Sowell conversion.
Val Kilmer came here, registered, and never voted. He was busted when he wanted to restart his life and stop voicing-over a Ford: by trying to be New Mexico's next Governor.
Non-sequitur. You seek to evade. You are a troll, who revels in their trollism.
God has a special place for apostates…
Please?
Are you in my neck of the woods?
Los Lunas.
I have an idea…
If squeezing the Hollylibs brings about re-examination of their ideals…perhaps we need to put them in a compactor.
I suggest 75% or more taxation for those above Obama's line.
Typical. He is a total hypocrite. Wasn’t he leaving he country after Bush got elected?
I’m sorry…Alec Who?
Yes, it's called Hufpo HQ.
As much as i regret saying it, don't count on that happening either DW. Most likely Cherry, lieutenant governor will be elected. Detroit still manages to screw this state over in so many ways. After all, I am talking about a city that does not even run a republican on the ballots for elected city positions. That is why in a few years, I am looking at moving out of the state.
How many movies have these stars made about that exact set of circumstances say back in the wild wild west days. Big corporate ranchers buying up all the property and pushing the little guy out.
Yes, the hypocrisy of the green elite knows no bounds. Just wait and see how pissed they are when they get hit with a huge energy tax. Obama's policies might be the best thing ever to have happened for conservative ideology.
Is he suggesting that tax cuts bring an increase in production? Revolutionary concept.
We do have the happy cows, but how long will it be before they have to move as well since they are trying to tax their flatulence.
I think the Obama administration should be thanked for helping people truly understand what liberals have been trying to do for years. Now that it has become "in your face" sort of speak it's not quite as pretty as once portrayed. Let them into the conservative party but with a good dose of hazing first.
I believe Bill O'Reilly was part of the left camp at one point as well.
Not to worry. Gore will happily figure out a way for them to avoid the energy tax while charging us the make-up taxes as we shiver in our candlelit caves.
If you hadn't pointed that out I would have, but to further your point about libs and power. Barney Frank is the gift that keeps on giving. My favorite local talker has a sound bite from him on taxing employer-based healthcare plans. He's assuming we will have government healthcare available and the jerk actually said that he would prefer people to not be in other plans separate from the "perfectly adequate" system government would provide so he didn't see any problem with taxing separate health plans.
Power folks.
And don't forget the tofu … I remember the CU Buffs at track meets. Scary folks. Hard to tell what was hippie and what was piercing.
A reason to welcome T. Boone Pickens' crazy windmill plan. No celebs are going to want to buy up land populated with hoardes of whining windmills. Of course, none of us are going to want to live there either.
While I don't know if he's exactly conservative I believe Robert Downey Jr. is on record somewhere as having said something like no one can go through drugs and prison like he has and come out the other side exactly liberal. Rough paraphrase.
And I understand the catalytic converters are uncomfortable.
If every movie maker shot their productions in Texas and was as efficient as Robert Rodriguez, Hollywood would cease to exist.
Another plus: Politics would be less of an issue in movies as 99% of Texans will NOT abide "those sorry li'l hippies."
It's not a matter of getting, it's that they don't care about anything but themselves because they're narcissists.
Robert Rodriguez is a genius as far as stretching a budget. Desperado for only $7 mil…wow! It also helps to use a non-union crew, which he took a lot of heat for with From Dusk Til Dawn. Plus the soundtracks to his movies are great as well.
I believe his brother Billy has become a Christian conservative. I bet Thanksgiving at the Baldwin's is a hoot!
Just as Alec has said and more. The future taxes to pay for "stimulus" may be the undoing of all of us. But we can only find hope looking at the big picture :
CONCERNING CONNECTING WITH SPIRIT OF HOLINESS AND DIVINE PROVIDENCE
You must learn the immortal truth of life.
GO AND LEARN YOU OWE IT TO YOUR SOUL AND EVERYONE ELSE
http://godssecret.wordpress.com/2008/12/17/are-yo...
Funny! Whatever made you pick "Valdosta"?
It would be poetic justice if Iowan become the film capital of the US. I think CA and NY have done their best to send folks away. Let them have their Karma.
Bingo.
The Alec Baldwin types of the world only "get it" when they are affected directly. Then, by golly, something's got to be done! So, since liberals like to equate raising taxes "for the children", can we now accuse "Alec baby" of wanting to deprive our children of proper health care and a better education because he wants tax breaks?
Bill,
Stephen has been praying for his brothers fervently. So, God could be hitting Alec in the pocketbook so he will repent of his sins and receive salvation.
This is further proof that no one is too far gone to see the light.
No problem. But just between you and me, I'd take Bill Clinton over this bum anyday. Bill usually kept out of things that were above his paygrade. Which was about everything. Especially the economy.
I would rather God just turned him into a pillar of salt. . . like he did to Algore.
You sure about that? They not only allow the city of Austin to exist, they let those people rule.
Ronald Reagan was an FDR Democrat and head of the Film Actors Guild, I mean SAG. His tenure at SAG is what caused him to see the light and become a Republican.
I'm going to be slightly charitable to Mr Baldwin here.
Maybe he's waking up … maybe the truth is finally worming its way under the skin.
Not EVERY conservative is born that way, there are many fine people that are stalwarts of the conservative movement that were once liberals (some VERY liberal).
David Horowitz was raised a communist and was very deep in the 60s counter culture. Now today he's one of conservationism's strongest voices.
Dr. Thomas Sowell used to be a Marxist (his doctoral thesis was on Marx).
Ron Silver (may he rest in peace) was an obnoxious liberal before 9/11.
Stephen Baldwin. As has been pointed out he used to be a leftist but through personal growth has become a conservative.
That's just four examples, I'm sure with a little digging we could come up with tons of former liberals in the conservative camp. Heck, its my understanding that this very site exists because of Hollywood liberals that have awakened to the truth (hopefully I'm not over stating that).
I, for one, am willing to greet Mr Baldwin into the loving arms of logic, reason and conservatism if he so chooses. Since conservatism is based in large part on Judeo-Christian ethics, I'm willing to forgive the repentant sinner and welcome him to the fold.
I'll second that, Caly deserves what we have voted for regularly. Being a resident of that state I'm constantly confused by this sense of stupidity. I don't know about NY but I'd imagine it's more of the same.
Let them fail, hell let the US fail so we can get back to the basic principles that this country was founded on. We're trying to prop up a bastardization of what our founding fathers truly intended. It's going to require some major changes in the size of government. Let's go back to states rights and limited federal government. Let's do away with the federal income tax (which is unconstitutional), that is what keeps us beholden to the federal governments power and increased control.
Stop the war on drugs it's a sink hole for money. Take the federal employees from that war and use them to fight a war on illegal immigration.
Near Albuquerque.
Non -sequitur. Your statements continue to be uncoordinated.
Administrator: attempt localization by Whowhere to lock IP address.
It's a containment strategy.
CA has 2.2 million people on welfare. A good portion of them are foreign nationals from Mexico. The Mexicans are drinking the stupid gringo’s milkshake while the state and federal govt are acting as an accomplice. Soon there won't be anyone left to tax in CA; it'll be one big kibbutz.
LOL MOOOOOOOOOOO code word for stop trying to put that in my arse!
As an accomplice is more than correct terminology. CA was sued by out of state college students who questioned having to pay out of state tuition if out of country (illegal immigrants) didn't have to. The courts not able to see this imbalance and illegal nature of things merely came up with a new word for them. A name that I refuse to remember or state because it makes me want to hurl. California deserves to fail and when it does and there is no more money to just give away hopefully many of these miscreants leave.
It's interesting how actors suddenly get religion when they're impacted directly. Baldwin is absolutely correct on the taxes issue and, unfortunately for him, he's also a hypocrite.

If you dont already have it, you might want to check out the music of Chingon. They are a very clever combination of hard rock blues and folk mariachi. Rodrigues and Tarantino use them alot.
Yeah, national security, too. He just let Sandy "I destroy classified documents about Clinton's record on terrorrism" and Jamie "I caused 9-11 then made tens of millions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac" Gorelick handle that stuff.
I'll do that. Sounds a little like Tito & Tarantula, another Band that Robert uses a lot.
I'll do that. Sounds a little like Tito & Tarantula, another band that Robert uses a lot.
Very much so. I've got one of their (Chingon) albums on order now; "Mexican Spaghetti Western"
As I said in the article, he's not embracing supply side for all, he's just saying "except for me." I'm sure he still wants high taxes for all other businesses in the interest of fairness. He just wants the industry he depends on to be exempted.
And this stance is, in fact, totally consistent with liberalism. They always want to be exempted from the laws they impose on others. I don't believe we are witnessing a conversion to conservatism here.
Funny, once you go down the sink whole of using the power to tax as a means to manage people, the trouble starts. Soon, you can't remember why you passed that special tax or reduced the other one.
Also, once you feel it is OK to be progressive on a tax system well, you are saying: It is OK to take your money, you have some. Watch out Alec, you have some and we want it to fund the Obama express.
USArtboy hit it directly… if it weren't threatening his own pocketbook, Alec would just fall in line and say "but these taxes are for the good of everyone!". It's the myopic view that some of these out-spoken celebs can't see beyond.
I just ordered it too. Saw one clip on Youtube and I was easily convinced…thanks for the tip

WHAT DID I TELL YOU BABY! WHOOOOOO! The TV business leaves California! http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118001296.html?...
