‘CSI: Miami’ Attacks ObamaCare Apostate
by Michael S. Rulle Jr.
A friend of mine asked me if I had seen” CSI: Miami” last week. I had not, but he suggested I take a look. He thought I might find something interesting. Warning: Spoiler Alert.
Not all television shows have blatant straw men capitalists cast as Beelzebub incarnate. In fact, many stay away from this topic. Although I have not done a count, there are still too many of these shows. One of the more bizarre depictions of a CEO as a “murder for profit” Satanic imp was presented in the “CSI: Miami” episode “Bad Seed” last Monday. If capitalists were really this evil, mankind would not have made it out of the stone ages, as all their customers would have been killed soon after each new advancement in technology. Of course, in these shows it is only the capitalists who are evil. Not government employees, local farmers, truck drivers, police officers, medical professionals, illegal migrant workers, distributors or really any other human being. Just owners of businesses are evil, because they care about profits. These characters are people who willfully engage in conspiratorial confiscatory practices and also play “God” by determining how many people it is okay to kill in order to sell a product and make a profit.
“Bad Seed” features a venal CEO of “Bixton Whole Foods” whose name caused me to pause the show on my DVR to check what I heard. CEO Beelzebub, in “CSI: Miami”, has the name “Jerry Mackey.” As someone who follows the health-care legislation wars pretty closely I could not believe what I heard. As you may know, the CEO of the real life company “Whole Foods” is named “John Mackey.” Mackey used to be viewed as a liberal icon, “a third way” capitalist so to speak. His employment practices conformed to all liberal-approved ways. His product offering is first class. Now, as one who does not believe in the efficacy of “organic foods” etc., I also have no problem with people who wish to spend more on their food for aesthetic or any other reasons. Whole Foods apparently serves a niche market of well-off urban and ex-urban yuppies quite well. I occasionally shop there myself, as their presentation is very good. The First Lady made quite a stir herself in support of organic foods which I chronicled in “Let Them Eat Arugula.”
But, even the real Mackey’s third way organic capitalism could not save him from attack when he came out against the Obama/Democratic approved health-care plan last August. As an individual who is economically literate, he just could not stand idly by and let these proposals be put forth uncontested. This caused his stores to be boycotted and for him to be demonized by the Democrats. It seems almost impossible that “CSI: Miami” was not purposely looking to subliminally equate their comic book Satan with the real life Whole Foods CEO. “CSI’s” Bixton Whole Foods CEO Jerry Mackey was purposely making statistical trade offs guaranteed to create unnecessary deaths – willfully permitting E-coli to be genetically inserted into corn to make it more “digestible,” while increasing the odds of creating a killer strain of bacteria.
I have sometimes thought “CSI: Miami” was a conscious put on. David Caruso’s character reminds me of a cross between Jack Webb’s “Joe Friday” in “Dragnet” and Dan Aykroyd’s “Raymond Stance” in “Ghostbusters.” But this particular episode is immoral in equating their clown Satan with the real-life Mackey. Perhaps it is all a coincidence. After all, these things happen. But I doubt it. “CSI” seemed to obviously believe in the power of subliminal messaging. I have a hunch if the real Mackey had come out in support of ObamaCare, “Jerry Mackey” would not exist; and likely neither would “Bixton Whole Foods.” Even if it were a coincidence, isn’t there anyone on the staff who noticed the linkage?
Somehow I think the answer is yes.

Huh…for a second there, I thought the article was going to talk about Obamacare and the liberal Congress.
"Is CSI on tonight?"
"Yes"
*click*
I saw that show and the similarities even in the name "Mackey" were so obvious I thought, "Did Obama just nationalize CBS?" (And would CBS think that a bad thing if he did?)
I watched this episode and had the same feelings: PC entertainment pushing a left-wing agenda (again).
It's truly shameful how the Obama crowd will turn on it's own to advance HIS agenda…and frightening for us as a country and our culture.
Truly, the subliminal messages of more and more of our "entertainment" are political…to the disservice of the media and the message.
I don't get it, Bruckheimer is supposed to be Conservative. Maybe he doesn't have close watch of every show. NCIS and CSI New York normally have a middle-right slant, imho. Anyway, I am glad I missed this one. However, Emily Procter is one fine feline…
Quit watching all the CSIs and the L&Os. In fact, I watch very little network tv anymore. Wake up hollywood, you are alienating a lot of people.

I watch CSI Miami regularly (mostly for H's sideways look ((always makes me laugh)) and smirk and hoping Delko's character dies this time) and I saw this episode too. As soon as they brought the CEO in, I thought…Here we go again…..Evil CEO time.
Now I know why I don't watch CSI:Miami…………………………or CSI anything, for that matter. __ And David Caruso reminds me of that Radke fellow who founded ACORN. Just another reason to NOT watch CSI:Miami.
I agree… I have stopped watching them as well… the only network shows that gets DVRed at our house is Bones, NCIS and House…. every other show we watch on USA or it's some DIY show…
I saw the show and was surprised at how bad it was. The anti-Genetically Modified foods hysteria displayed outrageous especially in a show that features supposed scientific investigative methods. Nothing like this has ever happened in real life and GM crops are more extensively tested than traditionally bred crops. GM crops have saved untold lives and improved the livelihood of many, many more people around the world. This sort of ignorant "Franken-foods" scare story is really despicable.
Was there a change in writing personnel over the summer? I have generally enjoyed CSI Miami but another show as bad as this one and I will drop it at least for the season. Yes, I'll miss seeing Emily Proctor.
CSI: Miami is ultimately on a collision course with the current administration. Think of it as dueling Messiahs. David Caruso vs. Barack Obama. Two thin-skinned princeling posers staring balefully into the middle distance until one smirks victoriously and throws off a pre-written quip.
Emily Procter is one crappy actress.
And I used to like CSI:Miami…. why must they politicize shows… :-/ it really serves no purpose and it's not entertaining… at least not to half the demographic….
The question is, considering the lavish praised heaped on the Messiah by the networks, you mean they aren't nationalized already?
he may be a conservative who just happens to understand his target audience.
You don't get rich selling what's right, you get rich selling what sells.
Why would anyone be surprised by this after the way the media covered up for Barack Obama during last year's elections? They used falsehood after falsehood, on top of all his own serial falsehoods denying anything and everything negative though factual – from his close relationships with Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Fr. Pfleger and ACORN to his promises of being above race and partisanship to his promises of eliminating earmarks, to his promises to run a transparent administration. Obama falsely blames Bush 43, with support from the media, for the deficits he inherited even though he voted for every spending program as a Senator. Obama also falsely blames Bush 43 for the financial mess that he was closely involved in creating which made him the biggest recipient of political bribes per annum by the employees of Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac and AIG. Obama has hired some of the most anti-American and anti-Semitic advisers he could find, some of them openly Marxist and Maoist sympathisers. Van Jones and Anita Dunn are only the tip of this heap of intestinal waste products.
Name any small business stupid enough to tell 50% of their customer base to take a hike? You bet the mass media savages capitalism because it isn't working well for these lame brained lefties anymore. Their monopoly is gone.
In all of the excuses as to why print and Hollywood are failing by these media honchos NEVER is content mentioned. Never. Just down what rabbit hole has all of the negative feedback over the years gone? CNN still can't figure out why they are in 4th place.
Nothing surprising here; almost all these "Crime Dramas" have a liberal to leftist bent. They count on the fact the majority of Americans are stupid (see: Obama, elected President), and stupid people watch stupid shows on CBS, NBC and ABC because they're too stupid to do anything else with their free time. Thankfully, they cut the scene were David Caruso was masturbating to Keith Olbermann gushing on and on about Obama. I guess they felt they had made their point.
The Communists are "this close" to taking over – for good; hence Nancy Pelosi's renaming the "public option" to the "consumer option." Stupid people, (i.e., Democrats and MSNBC watchers) will fall for this Communist word play, this legislative sleight of hand, and, like lemmings, follow these self-destructive left wing fools right off the cliff.
For starters, name and boycott those companies that advertise on CSI: Miami and request that CBS cancel the show. Of course, Obama will bail them out, but we can at least try to annoy them a bit.
The only thing we can do now is to clip Obama's wings in 2010, and send him back in disgrace after 2012 to shuck and jive and fist bump with his homies in the Chigaco hood again. This was the most expensive and dangerous experiment in US history. God forbid we are attacked again after he has emboldened every enemy we have out there. I can only hope American Caucasians who voted for him "to give him the benefit of the doubt" have finally gotten their guilt complex over slavery out of their systems.
I don't care, "CSI: Miami is still the funniest comedy on TV (at least CBS).
I think it's time for Jack Webb & Joe Friday to "school" Caruso on keeping politics out of Hollywood. I loved the video of them schooling Obama on socialism & healthcare.
I believe the Nanster is also calling it the "competitive option".
Missed this episode also…
I know that Hollywood's updated cops to no longer have Irish accents while tapping a billy-club in the palm of a hand….but tell me: were the farmers still portrayed wearing straw-hats and Osh-Kosh-B'Gosh overalls, while hooting like Walter Brennan or Festus?
If you do not consume large amounts of Kool Aid and zombie along with the Husseinians, then you are smeared by a group of grown-up, grown-up used to depict their age not their mentality, girls and girly men on a grammer school play ground!
I am Serving my government by speaking out against this…………
The original writer of this episode is a friend of mine who is an outstanding husband, father, gun owner and all around good guy. I've known him for almost 20 years and he is definitely not a Hollywood liberal with an agenda. Suffice to say that scripts don't automatically go from laptop to the set without someone up the food chain "punching them up".
Delko's character doesn't die–but he did just leave the show. Is that good enough?
No need to watch the show when you can see the highlights on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sarYH0z948
A string of lame Horatio Caine one liners.
Too bad the song dubbed by National Review as the Most Conservative Rock Song in history needed to be involved in this mess.

I have also noticed that the majority of the criminals on the CSIs, the Law & Orders, Cold Case, etc., are caucasian. My wife is black (I;m white) and, when her and her mother were going on a weekend trip to NYC, the running joke was to be wary of evil white male CEOs and their demonic offspring. I wonder what the crime stats actually are in NYC, Miami, Las Vegas, Philadelphia…
I'm so gald you said that because I think the same thing about her. She really annoys me and is part of the reason why I stopped watching a long time ago. Caruso is the other reason with his strike a pose and sun glasses.
Me too!
thats it for our house, NEVER again will we have that show or Letterman on in our home. This is a total outrage! Worse yet is that the MSM like MSNBC and CNN et al are also quacking obama's tune constantly, we get our news online thru multiple outside US sources now, for entertainment, we will do anything BUT watch CSI from now on.
Law and Order is doing a lot of Bush bashing this season, too. What's with them? Learn from Conde Nast–people don't want liberal propoganda in their entertainment.
CAREFUL! I am in love with that woman (not really, but she's fine and has a sexy accent).
Hey Knuckles, how about spew alert next time? I just barely missed my monitor!
Somebody recently asked me what my favorite TV show is. I said "Monk". They asked me what my second favorite was. I didn't have one. That's the only show I watch besides old movies. TV has made its choice by having offensively leftist political and anything-goes morality shows. I made mine.
"CSI: Miami" is the walking embodiment of NON-subtlety – if it were actually pushing the agenda you're imagining it was, it would be right up front and the plot would've been ABOUT Mackey's health-care position.
In fact, given that this particular series draws most of it's "heavies" from archetypes designed to make "conservative" audiences moisten their knickers – the show is literally CRAWLING with gold-digging ex wives, eeeeevil sex-perverts, crooked defense attorneys, minority gangs and terrorists (one of the seasons featured a leggy seductress leading an Islamist terror-cell, since we all know how fond Al Qaeda is of female sexuality, who Caruso defeated with a sniper rifle) – it's ironically more plausible that whoever came up with this one thought they were merely taking a "shot" at "liberal" icon Whole Foods.
Wait… there was actually a PLOT on an episode of "CSI: Miami"?
I thought every epiisode consisted of David Caruso taking off his sunglasses and putting them back, over and over, for an hour.

Well, I missed that CSI Miami show last week and I guess I will be missing all future shows from now on out. They have lost my support.
I stopped caring years ago
i think the last episode i saw was one where some diplomat bailed on supporting his drug dealing son when he found out it wasn't really his kid.
I can't handle Caruso
of course they got rid of Grissom on the regular CSI and killed of Gary Dourdan's Character.
the shows got progressively weaker and then jumped off in to political jabs. I just don't care to invest my time in it anymore.
I can't stand CSI:Miami despite liking the other two CSIs. Horatio Cain is just a little bit too self-righteous for my tastes. Okay, if I'm being honest, it's more than just a little bit: Horatio Cain is right up there with Scrappy Doo in my list of hated fictional characters.
But I do need to point out that a couple of years ago they had a couple of really nasty IRS agents as villains. One episode does not a conservative show make, but at least not all of the bad guys are CEOs.
I, too, saw this episode. My last. But, what really cinched it was the two women at the end showing their 'volunteerism' by weeding in a Community Garden. They drank the Kool Aid on two fronts that night!
I just dismiss any political preaching in shows unless they hit ya over the head constantly ad nausium (like Boston Legal did when it was still on). I still watch CSI: Miami and just don't pay attention to the commentary; I still think it's a decent show. BTW, they did their EIF duty in that episode at the end when they showed two of the CSIs helping out the independent farmer hack his corn down and in another window showed some lady watering a "community garden."
I've seen Emily Proctor's name pop up in some of the posts, but let's not forget Eva LaRue … she certainly fills out a pair of pants.
They also commented once about the Kelo decision a couple seasons back, blaming it on greedy land developers, but they forgot the real reason for the Kelo decision was greedy politicians wanting greater tax revenues.
I've been a fan of CSI:Miami for the past few seasons but have noticed the plots have been rather weak. This episode was just that…weak. I have started drifting from this show when Calleigh started dating Delko. Not for the race bating reasons one poster listed but because Calleigh & Delko seem more suited for friendship than anything else. Calleigh – the big sister of H's crew – was more interesting when she dated that other cop…Jake whats-his-name. Or when she was dealing with her boozer father.
Delko has been getting the short shank the past few seasons: losing his sister to cancer, getting sued for saving a woman from her *ss beat by her husband, getting shot in the head, then that convoluted storyline with his father being an ex-CIA operative abandoned by the gov't? Whatever!
I know you are being sarcastic, but the best comedy on CBS is Big Bang on Monday nights. That is until they screw it up too.
Or the one where they "school" Roman Polanski for being a child raping pervert. That one is priceless.
It's funny how people are so up in arms about GM foods, but couldn't care less about the sub-standard requirements of produce we ship from south of the border. You want to know why we keep getting E.coli strains here? The Mexican farm workers crap in the fields, and that waste ends up in the produce. I can't look at a strawberry or tomato from South America the same way now.
I think this line is the most important one of the entire piece: "If capitalists were really this evil, mankind would not have made it out of the stone ages, as all their customers would have been killed soon after each new advancement in technology."
It's simple logic. It makes no sense to kill off your customers. Now, Ford did have a problem with this and the Pinto decades ago, but it came out and more deaths were prevented by it and we didn't need the gov't to help do it – it was just a lawsuit that brought out the offense and it was taken care of.
If people would just use logic, they would see all of this and not be so inclined to demonize "capitalists". I mean look at what they are doing with the insurance companies – they make too much money! Reall, because they are at the bottom of the list when it comes to net profit – I believe it was 2.2 percent and that's less than the oil companies and way less than the 19% that I believe computer related companies (software, etc.) rake in every year.
And we are the ones accused of lying! HA!
My husband and I saw the episode in question. It was the biggest piece of propagandist nonsense that I've ever witnessed. I was yelling at the TV the entire time. At the end of the show, my husband turned to me and said, "And yet, we continue to watch."
Trust me we won't be making that mistake again.
It's all over the tv. On the New Adventures of Old Christina they (Wanda Sikes and Julie LD) were upset when the Health Insurance wasn't provided to them at no cost and that all American's should receive healthcare.
Amen. They won't be able to keep getting away with corrupting our entertainment if we don't watch it.
You're right, "Competitive Option." Consumer option is next week's name.
Watched only a few shows – pretty dull in the end. Quite surprised about the negative reaction from the Dems and MSM about John Mackey. – But this made me remember several years ago how my center/liberal friend ignored me when I exclaomed after watching a few episodes of Big Love – on HBO — I yelled that – I can;t believe it – Hollywood is going after Mitt Romney !! Everyone dissed me.. Ha ha — Morman politicians HAD never been an issue until it was a valid Republican – To be led by Hollywood and the NY Times – scary ..
Horatio Caine ≠ Joe Friday. Horatio Caine = Steve McGarrett
Book 'em, Calleigh!
Let me know when Caruso learns another face.
Ah, but did whats-his-name take off the specs meaningfully while saying the name?
And I wish more people would realize this. One writer on TV doesn't have 100% total control of the message. If the network wants to insert a political point, it will. Bruckheimer should have enough clout to say no but maybe he doesn't…? And one preachy episode doesn't mean the whole show is going in that direction.
Bruckheimer has the clout but one episode is like a fly on a elephant's butt. It's got to sting pretty hard for him to take notice.
That's prettys funny in a sick and twisted kind of way. The CSI series are also almost universally anti-gun when ever it comes to a non-law-enforcement person using one.
These shows also foster a mentality of blind faith in forensic science and officialdom which is particularly dangerous considering the fact that much forensic science is not even scientifically proven to work.
Avoid like the plague.
It's Raymond STANZ not Raymond "Stance."
The article was rather good, except for that one mistake.
Great post! One reason I can hardly tolerate TV…then that volunteerism thing..it will be coming shortly..from ads to episodes.
Every time I see him do that sideways look, I am just waiting for his hand to go up to his cheek and then he belts out a "Well!" like Jack Benny.
I don't watch a lot of things. Shows with left wing slants are tiresome and inheritantly dim. As such, I don't watch CSI Miami or L & O. I also don't watch films with lefty plots or high profile lefty actors. As such, I do watch CSI NY with Gary Sinise
This is the same discussion I have with my wife. The professionals, judges, lawyers, police, coroners, doctors et al have significant numbers of blacks, the criminals are significantly white. As to murder statistics, the New York Times in its crime section has a "murder map" that shows all murders since 2003 with various stats. Of the 3,536 murders tracked, 61% were committed by blacks (25% of NYC's pop), 29% by hispanics (27% of NYC's pop), 7% by whites (35% of NYC's pop) and 3% by asians (12% of NYC's pop). On a per captita basis, NYC's blacks commit murder at a rate 12 times greater than whites. Except on L&O.
You are right on about all the L&Os. They could have Law & Order: Cambodia edition and the murderer would be the one rich white male within 20 milesof Phnom Penh
Who apparently throws a fit on set if the mini-fridge in his trailer isn't kept continually stocked with Diet Cokes (?!). I have to say, though, Ms. Procter is fairly attractive, and the North Carolina accent doesn't hurt. Her acting skills…meh.
Back when I used to watch Letterman regularly–only late show I could get, thank you very much, so get off me–one of the funniest things I could remember was when Jim Carrey was on, and he did this impersonation of Caruso, sunglasses and all, saying, "David Caruso could make anything sound cool the way he puts on those sunglasses, like this: (removes shades and gives sideways look into camera) "I before E…" (puts shades back on) "…except after C." And frankly, it's not far off.
I've been a TV junkie for 40+ years, and I too have reduced my viewing at least 80%. I will not watch anything with Polanski supporters, and the list of TV actors spewing out politics (whether they themselves are knowledgeable or not) it just too much. I can't even watch Heather Graham anymore.
CSI: NY also had a show delve into the healthcare debate. Some guy who lost his insurance and could no longer afford his treatments started murdering people.
I cut back on Law & Order because of their PSA's in the middle of the show and would on occasion catch them while surfing. BUT ever since I surfed to the end of the show about a guy who killed an abortion doctor – I no longer stop. I'll give CSI a little more time for them to get more blatent before I switch them off.
I laugh ever time I see little man Caruso play tough guy, Please! He's a lot like Pierce Brosnan playing Bond, both 6 ft 150 pds. They're not going to scare anybody or beat anyone up. Have a samwich.
But the Blonde, well she's not that bad, oh, we talking about acting? Sorry., never mind.
About three weeks ago, CSI:Las Vegas equated marines with serial killers (see the episode where Fishburne talks to the serial killer's son and states that as the son of a marine, he too is the son of a serial killer). As a chemistry prof, I appreciated the attention to science detail in the series. But this is too much, given the recent digression in the quality of the story lines. CSI:LV jumped the shark for me with this. Looks like CSI:Miami is playing with the fish as well.
"could be a coincidence…." LMAO!
I wonder if they got an NEA grant?
Me, too, what you said. All of it. I loved TV but I no longer watch it. Too pedantic, too insulting, too mindlessly liberal knee-jerk agendized. Boring, to boot. Hollywood, leave the lecturing to Obama and his TelePrompter. All we want from you is to be entertained.
Let me say that I consider myself a conservative but I can’t just fall in with the analysis here.
“If capitalists were really this evil, mankind would not have made it out of the stone ages, as all their customers would have been killed soon after each new advancement in technology."
You know what's missing in this country today? The balls to have an HONEST discussion. Neither side will ever admit that yes, there are bad ideas or bad people or mistakes made by both sides. Really there’s never been a corrupt CEO? Enron anyone? You can’t handle a character that spears business? I can.
What I don’t like is the lazy writing that using such characters represents. It shows no imagination by the writers & producers of this show. I understand that the original script may been less cliché but the executive producer obviously made the final call that she was most comfortable with.
There is a problem with the quality of food in this country. I don’t think that has to be a political issue. Feedlots have been found to contaminate produce nearby. That was portrayed in this CSI Miami episode.
Really to keep my conservative card I have to believe all businesses and their owners are good? The industrialists of the late 1800’s took advantage of their workers in sweat shops including children. They bankrolled the idea of public schools to create and indoctrinate good little workers for their factories. (See John Taylor Gatto’s The Underground History of American Education). We can thank them for the public school mess we have today.
On the other hand, I feel like every so often these shows have to show their friends that they don’t buy everything their show represents to its viewers. Two examples: A year or so ago NCIS’s Ziva, a Mossad agent, revealed in a scene her friendship as a 12 year old with a Arab boy who was later killed. My daughter who’s studied the region said no way at 12 would she be playing with a Arab kid. This particular episode was riff with PC crap. I still watch because it is one of the best TV shows on today. They tend to have one episode a season that drips in PC garbage. Then there’s USA’s Burn Notice in which the lead is an ex-spy who has made the point in a couple of episodes this summer that torture doesn’t work. Man did that dialog ever come across as awkward. I got the feeling that the folks on the show wanted to make sure all their buds in Hwood knew that while their show is about a spy they don’t really go for all that icky spy stuff.
I actually found the CSI Miami episode in question a refreshing break from the usual murder and mayhem.
I’d like to note that this particular show has not shied away from having the Caine character exact revenge beyond the badge–not very PC and certainly not sanctioned in real life–for the death of a family member and the actions of a internet pervert trolling for young girls. My liberals friends didn’t like it one bit. There have been a number of episodes in which a pregnant woman was a victim and her unborn child was referred to as a–yes–a baby! (See for example Ashes to Ashes in season 1 where Caine has a digital picture created of the murdered unborn child as a two year old created to show the dad-suspect who he killed. I often wondered how that ever made it to air!)
I don’t buy all the crap from liberals. I think the environmental crisis is a hoax, climate change is nothing we cause and going green wastes more than it saves. I also don’t buy the conservative crap either. Chemicals in food don’t have a effect on us? Ever? Really? But the vitamins and minerals they contain do. The only chemicals that work are the ones that we intentionally ingest as a drug?
Now if you want to criticize this particular episode for poking at Whole Foods CEO I’d say that’s a safe bet. Names in scripts are always checked. So no way it was an accident or coincidence. And I find that idea much more repugnant than the cliché of a big, bad CEO.
On the other hand, I saw an episode of The Good Wife. The show takes place in Chicago. Guess what? The daughter in the show had O**** pictures all over her wall. I just rolled my eyes. But it is Chicago so it’s not a stretch. So I asked myself–should I skip this show because they showed pictures of the man who currently occupies the White House? I decided that if I found the show interesting I shouldn’t be afraid of something that’s not in agreement with my political beliefs. But I did decide the show was tedious and only watched one more episode before deciding reading the latest Brad Thor was more fun.
I remember that Letterman show with Carrey (I remember almost nothing in general) and you're right, it was an effing brilliant parody of Caruso's schtick. The words don't matter, it's all about cadence and exit. Carrey called it "putting the 'button' on the scene.'
We didn't get far enough into the episode to get the clues to draw the comparison, but I see it now. We thought the episode was dreadful from the get-go and gave it up maybe 10 mins. into it. CSI Miami for a long time has had simply dreadful scripts and acting (especially guest stars, most especially the teen guests who play uniformly sullen and rude suspects). For quite a while the only parts we have enjoyed are the scenery and Miami scenes which are gorgeous in HD. The scripts and dialogue are insulting to our intelligence. This confirms that opinion even more. CSIs in general have gone downhill. CSI NY is still decent but nothing pretty about it. The Vegas show is suffering without the anchor of William Petersen. Lawrence Fishbourne is good but this is not his milieu IMHO.
We gave up all L&O's a year or more ago – the Bush and conservative bashing is so overt it's simply ridiculous. There's almost nothing on TV that is well-made and non-insulting. "N.C.I.S.," "Fringe" and "The Mentalist" are about it – and "Sherri" is drop-dead hilarious! Even more so than "Seinfeld" and "Frasier." Outstanding.
Thanks everybody for the head's up on all the liberal shows which have gone totally, loony liberal this season. Since my wife and I don't watch any of them anyway, we for sure know which to avoid should we accidentally surf into one.
Actually I just watch for Ms Boa Vista…I don't know her real name. Emily Procter and the guy who plays Wolfe (who I used to like) have just gotten too one-note and annoy me.
[...] the Democrats’ health care reform and explain why it endangers their most vulnerable patients. ‘CSI: Miami’ Attacks ObamaCare Apostate – bighollywood.breitbart.com 10/27/2009 A friend of mine asked me if I had seen” CSI: Miami” [...]
CSI last week had a racial police killing (cop was innocent). In the background was a sign that said "Yes we can," and at the end they were discussing who will end racism and the camera panned out to the name of the restaurant – The White House.
Obama and Congress are causing the racial divide by calling those who protest against their POLICIES racist. After that, I have stopped watching all the CSI's.
Al Gore's movie was proven in England to have 11 lies and therefore schools can't show it without disclaiming it is a political movie. Also, sun spots are the reason for the rise and cooling of temperature. Progressives are using the "Green" movement to spread there agenda – (I've seen many, many videos of them saying this).
I read somewhere that the commercial venture (the thing that initiated the lawsuits that ultimately resulted in Kelo) in New Haven had fallen through. These means that all those homes that were taken through "eminent domain" were razed for nothing.
…just like the theme song says, "Won't get fooled again!"
Maybe—but the point was the "coincidence" of the CEO's name makes one think the intent was poitical–and aimed directly at a person who is not "Enron", just an opposer of ObamaCare
Actually, it is Stantz, not Stance or Stanz!
I don't watch much TV that is not on a DVD and I can tell from these extensive comments that this show was stupid so I am glad I did not watch it and I am shure to avoid it on DVD. I do read and I did read MacKey's editorial on the op-ed page of the WSJ. I shop at Whole Foods because the fish is the best, fresher than all the other stores and you can taste the difference. I also love the aged grass fed steaks for way too much money…its like Peter Lugar's but even better (they use corn fed) and its not everywhere that you can get good American Flatbread from vermont. I do hold a grudge that they don't sell lobster though…I think of all the poor Maine fishermen. I like the tone of the workers at the Madison, NJ whole foods where I shop. Mackey has given oportunity and positve work environment, good health care benefits and competitive wages to his employees and they are a cut above the Shop Right drones, even though they don't belong to the meat cutter's union.
What is really funny about the boycott of Whole Foods in reaction to Mackey's really balanced and reasonable opinion is that the boycott organizers and publicisers were not Whole Food customers. Whole Foods core customer base is highly educated, affluent, urban and incorporates as many classical liberals and conservative populists as it does social liberal posers. The SEIU and community organizer types that were realy behind the phony boycott never did shop there and the boycott was big flop as the good food yuppies just re-upped their shopping like the whole boycott just another TV show.
As someone who doesn't watch any of the CSI shows I don't have an opinion of them one way or another. However, isn't it possible to that the writers had no political motive and were aiming simply to write an intertaining episode?
Sorry for misspelling "entertaining".
I certainly hope that it increased whole food sales ! I only have an opportunity ti shop there when I;m at my daughters and its still a 20-25 mile drive. The fact that I would do that – drive an extra 20 miles =, indicates that they really do it right ! I'm so glad that Mackay is who is is !! Much better than an unthinking liberal robat !! Not that I don;t several liberal – but in business he has the character to say what;s right !!
I remember in either season 1 or 2, back before I really got involved in politics… CSI Miami did an episode about a family that was a mirror for the Kennedy's. This family wa considered American nobility, and Caruso's character was involved in that family's Chappaquidick about 10 years prior to the episode. He was driven to find out what the next generation was up to, and would not be blinded by celebrity or influence.
I remember thinking 'wow you don't see that kind of stuff on TV nowadays'… and I'm guessing you never will again at least on that show.
Well, I have never watched CSI: Miami since I can't stand David Caruso. He was lame in the first season of NYPD Blue – and when he left in a huff they hired Jimmy Smits and the show became a big hit! I have tried to watch the other CSI's – especially CSI: New York because I like Gary Sinise and Melina Kanakaredes, but I have yet to make it through an entire episode. I used to be a big Law & Order fan, but got very tired of the liberal preachiness, and now I can't stand the cast. The only L & O show I watch is Criminal Intent. So far they haven't been injecting the politics into that one as much – or at least they aren't as heavy-handed about it.
robjonz — and black kids are either all 'Honor Students' or criminals. What are the odds.
Aren't there any aveage African-American kids in police prodedurals?
