In Batman Begins, Ra&#039; al Ghul explains how criminals thrive on society&#039;s need to understand them. Then -- to advance that theme -- the Joker in The Dark Knight spews different sob stories to his victims. 
 
The films go so far to mock root causes. I love that. </description>
