President Obama and His ‘Outstanding’ Humility
by MoxieGuest Post by Barack Hussein Obama transcribed from the teleprompter by Moxie:
Look, as I’ve always said the most important quality, in a man, is humility. And I want to lead America, by example.
Lots of Americans sit around and uh, wonder how I can stand to be so awesome day in and day out. And I’m not going to lie to you, it’s a difficult balance. My humility always returns when I look to my wife, Michelle.
She’s more of a man than I’ll ever be, and she can bench-press triple her weight, which is no small number. Roughly speaking, it’s slightly less than the deficit.
And uh…I understand this is a vast right-wing conspiracy humor site. And some of you are pretty harsh with your views on me. But I’m just like you.
My Grandma was a racist, just like all of you who didn’t vote for me. So, I’m exactly like 50% of all Americans, except I no longer have bowel movements, sometimes marvel at how easy it is to walk on water, kiss the press in private places, and ignore historical proof that, uh, my ideas may not be as good as I think.
You mock my teleprompter, and uh, as I’ve always said, I use it to appear more humble. The “uh’s” and tennis-match-observer head motions have always been my plan. When it breaks, during a speech, I appear humble by bumbling my sentences. This is all pre-planned. In fact, right now the teleprompter is scrolling at an unruly rate, so uh, I have to fake it.
Now, look — I know you Americans, who uh, understand history seem to think socialism is a failed idea. I don’t know. History. And, we’re halfway through my term, or at least half-way through the first year of my regime — and I’ve managed to implement socialism, in new and exciting ways.
And I encourage humility, especially in Americans who make more than minimum wage, because it takes humility to pay the kind of taxes I am planning for you. Trust me, this hurts me more than it hurts you. That’s an old Kenyan saying, one my Father taught me during the 5 hours I spent with him during my life.
Proof of my humility, in the middle of my awesome regime, may be found in a very public mistake I’ve made. Yes, I picked Biden so I’d look good, and the truly humble thing to do, would have been to pick Hillary as my veeper. But look, I’m still working on the humility. And mostly doing an outstanding job.

as long as y'all keep harping on the teleprompter thing I know you haven't come up with anything significant.
Dear CgntvDssdnt:
I'd like to buy you a vowel, but have postponed all discretionary spending until the deficit returns to where it was at the beginning of the Obama administration.
deficit hawk huh? how much did Bush grow the deficit again?
"She’s more of a man than I’ll ever be,"
No truer words have ever been spoken
LOL
I love you Moxie
I lost my password and login to your blog tho
You are a Jewel, conservative women are so hard to find.
Thanks for the TOTUS update
Hilarious..and uh TRUE!
The Democrats controlled Congress, and hence spending, since 2006, CD.
I love this particular argument by the left when The Dear Leader's thirteen-trillion dollar deficit is mentioned: "how much did Bush grow the deficit again?"
First, how does a two-trillion dollar deficit that occurred under a GOP POTUS justify a deficit six times larger when it is run up by a Democratic Congress and POTUS?
Second, I do not see anyone here justifying the actions of the GOP Congress and W when it comes to their handling of the budget, and to suggest someone is, as CD implies, is a sad attempt to avoid discussing the economic ruin the Dear Leader's fiscal insanity will wreak. As noted in my first point, if a two-trillion dollar deficit is bad, as CD assumesin their post, why is Obama's much larger deficit not much worse?

Moxie, you forgot the faux southern accent the Hawaii(?)-born, Indonesia-raised, Harvard-educated Dear Leader uses when speaking before predominantly black audiences. Drop those hard "g" sounds at the end of every "going", "doing", "feeling", "changing" and "starting"!
"As noted in my first point, if a two-trillion dollar deficit is bad, as CD assumes in their post, why is Obama's much larger deficit not much worse?"
At the least, I grant you something there… perhaps "the coal is calling the kettle black." But lets not act to sanctified, is all I'm sayin'.
At the worst: Bush & the republican controlled congress ran up spending on an optional war. Obama's spending spree is designed to stop-gap against the free fall and eventually help recover the economy. The voters will decide in 2012 how well it worked.
Bush Didn't "grow" the deficit. The deficit is the difference beween Federal Budget Expenditures and Tax Revenues. His largetst deficit was about 4.9% of Gross Domestic Product. Bill Clinton's largest deficit was over 6% of GDP. Barrack Obam's is over 13% of GDP.
And how do budget-killing deficits that will need to be paid off with future tax revenue for decades, help the economy? Even if the current downturn ends before 2010, there is a whole new burst of inflation coming next year that will kill any economic growth, due directly to the Dear Leader's extravagant spending.
Besides, I thought we needed to pass the Stimulus bill "now" back in January to keep unemployment from reaching 8%. So much for that.
The Dear Leader also justified "temporary" deficits on the theory, echoed by CD, that the "stimulus" bill would jump-start the economy immediately, leading to growth in tax revenues that would pay the spending bill off quickly. That bit of circular reasoning has also been disproven–the money being borrowed now will not be paid off any time soon.
Let no one say I don't have a sense of humor or fairness–I gave CD a +1 for droppin' his g.
Good point! That was very, very noticeable during the campaign when he would switch accents from venue to venue. And now, as you say, he is doing the black/Southern thing a lot ……to be folksy, I guess, or cool, or 'authentic.'
Try looking up for yourself the GDP at the end of the Clinton Adminsitration. It was 8 trillion dollars per year. The Economy while Bush was President grew by 40% to 14 trillion dollars per year. Bush's deficits then, even though they were 500 billion dollars, were a manageable 4% of GDP. To remove them from the context of the economy shows you don't understand economics, which is what your liberal masters rely upon.
By "to sanctified" I assume you mean "too sanctimonious."
We are conservatives, not Republicans, so we (unlike kneejerk partisans of your ilk) are quite free to criticize excessive GOP spending. In fact, conservatives have been doing just that for years, precisely because we are SINCERELY opposed to deficit spending, regardless of who is doing it. Obama, despite his constant moaning about 'Bush's deficit,' obviously doesn't mind increasing the debt at all. Which makes him as much a fraud as you are.
The other little thing I've been noticing is the sound that comes out of his mouth with the letter 's'. It sounds like Jack Lemmon in 'The Out of Towners' when he chips his tooth and has that whistling sound.
Or is it just me?
Moxie, Moxie, Moxie…good bit. Nice to see you back @ Big Hollywood.
The voters will decide in 2010!
Obama believes the only reason Socialism has never worked in the past, is because he was not in charge of it. Now, that's humility.
-11 Approval Rating, significant enough for ya?
Obama has spent more money THAN EVERY PRESIDENT TO DATE COMBINED. There's nothing cognitive in what you said, and if you're apologizing for the current President you're not a dissident.
would make a great beer commerical…………………
Sure, let's harp on the EGO that knows no bounds. Let's harp on the fact he is STILL blaming Bush/Cheney for the economy. Let's harp that when things are successful (like moving out of Iraq) He'll take all the credit, never mind that little of it he earned, but when things go bad, he'll be the first one to lay blame on anyone that's conveinet to him. Let's harp on when protestors were DYING in Iran, he was with his girls getting Ice Cream.
See, there are plenty of things to harp about!
That's hilarious Jimmy…sometimes it's the simply things in the middle of all these mind numbing numbers that make you smile and in this case-laugh out loud!
Hey, uh, Moxie? You've got the next seven and a half years to come up with something really funny.
Keep at it.
Let's make that -12 … ha ha
C'mon Cog! You act as though we haven't taught you anything here. When is the truth going to sink in? You sound like an obama apoligist, not a cognitive dissident. No FACTS will ever back up your ludicrous comments today, I'm worried about you, I think you may be losin' it. …. lol!
Just 1 small point …. H Clinton personally gave her blessing to the Iraq War, saying we had no other choice, as well as MANY other rank and file democrats, including those in leadership positions. I'm thinking perhaps you should now change your screen name to DvlsAdvct. Just sayin' ….
Doesn't Palin get skewered for doing that IRL? And didn't they mock GW for his accent?
"Support for Republican congressional candidates has reached its highest level in over two years as the GOP lengthens its lead over Democrats in the latest edition of the Generic Ballot"
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11. That’s the first time his ratings have reached double digits in negative territory"
"Turn out the lights, the part's over….."

Excellent post, Moxie …. LMAO!!!! Please keep up the good work.
Ya right. Make that THREE and a HALF YEARS! Obama will neutered like the family cat after the 2010 mid-terms.
Thanks Gillian, he's giving me tons of material to work with, in only six months.

It's becoming statistically evident that the "Blame Bush" strategy isn't working anymore. Eyes are glazing over and people want action, not double digit unemployment failure. This guy OWNS his problems, hindsight time is over!
It's not that Moxie's not funny, it's that Obama is too friggin' hilarious in his own right.
Good point. Steyn made the comment that Obama acts as if the office of President is too small for him.
Blaming Bush again, eh?
Personal responsibility must be above Obama's (and your) head.
Hey, guess what? Bush is no longer in office and hasn't been for quite some time now. So why don't you quit blaming him for everything and start blaming the person who IS in office? How about that?
"Deficit hawk huh? How much did Bush grow the deficit again?"
What precisely does your name mean, that you're cognitively dissenting from something or that you're dissenting from cognition? Because after reading your posts, I'm starting to think it's the latter.
That was perfect, …with all humility I submit.
Pay no attention to him Moxie, he’s from the 57th state!
Moxie – this is your first piece I have seen since I have been reading BH. I liked it . . . A lot!
Didn't 0 say he would be in office for 8 to 10 years? I'm sure gillian will love that…heck, why not make him prez for life; he's so awesome!!!!!
Thanks Jed. I think the last one "Days of Swine and Moses" was better. Someday, they might actually add me to the blogroll!
Reminds me of this parody entitled "Obama Delivers First-Ever "State of Obama" Address to the Nation Through Specially Designed One-Way Mirror" http://optoons.blogspot.com/2009/07/obama-deliver...
Confirms my suspicions. BHO really DOES sh-t marble.

Perhaps this will explain why it's easy for some of us to find Obama's deficit spending so much more offensive then Bush's. Climb on the debt car and see the light…

In a bold move to bring peace to the Middle East, President Obama announced today that he will begin negotiations with Iran. To gain Iranian confidence, Mr. Obama hopes to convince Benjamin Netanyahu to share half of Israel’s nuclear weapons with Iran on a lend lease basis with special refund for those that are exploded. President Obama, confident of his negotiating skills, went on to say that this would free Israelis of the nagging doubt that Iran might be pursuing development of nuclear weapons by making Israelis certain that Iran had nukes. The President went on to claim that President Ahmadinejad promised him that should Israel agree to this proposed division of assets, Hezbollah would immediately cease all rocket and mortar attacks against Israeli schools, hospitals, and day-care facilities. The ever empathetic Mr. Obama grew visibly emotional at President Ahmadinejad’s unilateral concession to peace in our time.
So, his frequent use of a teleprompter is insignificant? I'll admit it's far from the biggest of his faults. I'm sure all presidents have used notes and/or teleprompters sometimes. The only reason we "harp on" about it is because so many people are still under the impression that Obama is this brilliant, eloquent speaker, and I don't think you can be all that talented a speaker if you constantly need a teleprompter. And I know you could probably give me examples of times he's spoken fairly well without one, but please don't bother; I never said he was completely incompetent. I just think his talent is overrated, and once other people start to concede that, we'll stop "harping on" about it.
Ha ha ha. This cracks me up.
Negotiation with Hezbollah to take responsibility for transporting any nukes to Iran are at a critical juncture at this stage. The sticking points for Hezbollah seems to be the transport route and pizza of all things. Given the city’s superior transportation infrastructure as well as its world class gourmet pizza parlours, Hezbollah’s ex-freedom-fighters, with stress on the “ex”, feel the best route would take the nukes through the heart of Tel Aviv. Hezbollah spokesman, I’bin Ah-Nutbar, said that stopping in Tel Aviv for the brothers “Would be like a farewell tour for Guns ‘n Roses except without the guitars, amps, and smoke. Well, maybe not so much without the smoke.”
Speaker Nancy Pelosi interrupted her latest botox treatment to wish Mr. Obama success, but volunteered that the Iranians might have a problem accepting this Israeli magnanimity given their close ties to North Korea, which has a corner on the nuclear arms proliferation trade. Harry Reid, also at the botox clinic with Ms. Pelosi getting his buttocks botoxed–years of sitting in the senate will wrinkle them you know–would only say that he was fine with the deal provided Hezbollah’s tortuous transport route didn’t take those Israeli nukes anywhere near Yucca Mountain.
Actually, it appears they've already decided how well it worked: not at all, if the latest poll numbers are to be believed. Not that that in itself makes the stimulus a wise or unwise decision, unless popularity is what you're basing your evaluations on, but then neither are the good intentions which you attach to the Obama administration. Come to that, couldn't spending on the "optional war" you mention have been motivated by good intentions as well? Argue about the intent all you want, but it's still an exorbitant amount of spending.
Ms. Pelosi immediately, if not sooner, cut in to shout, “We were never told that nukes were torture, it was only suggested that they might be torture and only if the bombs were dropped really slowly!” Harry had to spell “T-O-R-T-U-O-U-S” several times to calm the poor woman, who seemed to have left her brain along with several lucrative government contracts with her husband in San Francisco. Teddy Kennedy, for his part, offered a slightly used Oldsmobile as a transport vehicle should President Obama need to sweeten the deal and should Hezbollah need a ride. Ever the gent, Teddy allowed that Mary Jo’s spirit would be all right with the deal, because the brothers would be travelling mostly through desert.
Yeah, good point. And, sadly, there are plenty of people out there who may acknowledge that Socialism hasn't worked that well in the past but still think it could work if it was simply "done right". I was talking to such a person some time ago, and I finally said "Okay, okay, even if you want to kid yourself that Socialism could work if it was 'done right', why do you even want Socialism in the first place? What's so great about it? Why is it better than Capitalism?" And he said "It's great. You take care of the government, and the government takes care of you." Ai-ya…I'm afraid there's nothing else to say to somebody who actually thinks that thinks that governments take care of anybody. All the money they spend is someone else's, and yeah, the government gives orders, but it's always other people who carry them out? How does that translate into "taking care of people"? Seriously, I'd really like to know why some people think that. CD, could you enlighten me, assuming you feel that way yourself? It's a serious question, it really is.
It's an especially stupid thing to say, considering that even Rush Limbaugh has said that Obama is probably an okay guy to "have a beer with or something".
I'll be generous and give you an unlimited amount of time to make an argument that includes something other than insults (which aren't that humorous either, by the way).
Oh amy, I'm going to go cry now!
I'm sorry, I was talking to Gillian. Your article was great.
"Let's harp on the fact he is STILL blaming Bush/Cheney for the economy. "
careful there. so are the majority of Americans.
Really., it's not "significant' that the Messiah can't even think for himself? That the "Great Intellect" is such a moron he wouldn't even know how to answer a question if someone else hadn't written the answer for him?" That when he's off prompter (thinking for himserlf) he stutters and mumbles and then pulls out his hat that he believes America is comprised of 57 states? Let's face it, your Messiah is a moron.
About one quarter in his entire eight years as Obambi has in just the first few months of his pay-offs to his friends at ACORN and Hamas.
"That’s an old Kenyan saying, one my Father taught me during the 5 hours I spent with him during my life."
Ouch….that's a quality shot.
How can he be such an eloquent speaker even though he uses a teleprompter? Hmmm, okay, well maybe there's a point there, sort of. In a nation where we are getting more and more immune to the fact that our professional baseball stars are generally on steroids, it seems, I will venture to say that its the performance that counts. And with the teleprompter, no only does Obama draw sharp contrast to Bush, but also to guys like Gore and Kerry. Now since I'm a lib (in case you didn't notice) I wanted to like Gore or Kerry. But they were painful to listen to. Compared to them, Obama, even if he's overly dependent on the teleprompter, is a great improvement. So you guys want to harp on that? Okay…"whatever".
I'm a big fan of Obama. I hope I'm not an apologist. I will tell you this gates thing was frustrating to watch. What facts do you want?
Like I said: Conservatives aren't racists. Only liberals and blacks are racists. What facts do you need to back up big grand statements like that?
look, mostly on this board I see a bunch of folks propping up their own view of the world. "Obama is a terrorist…" and etc. I humbly aim to make that a tad more difficult. that is all. If I'm saying anything that is easily disregarded by you guys, then I'm not a problem am I? No biggie – you can go ahead and write me off. It's no skin off my back, that's for sure.
pay off to ACORN? How is that?
You have it down. You just forgot one thing Moxie, when Obama or Gibbs says "Let me be perfectly clear" we all know they are lying. They both have the same twitch…"let me be clear" means "let me lie to you". If this guy ends his term without causing permanent damage, we'll have to look back and laugh at this fool.
humility – I maintain it is hypocrisy
obama and his LIBERAL HYPOCRISY to go with his LIBERAL LIES
Good catch. I love it when self-declared intellectuals are caught using big words they don't understand.
Note to CgntvDssdnt:
"Sanctified" means separated to a holy or religious purpose.
"Sanctimonious" means hypocritically pious or devout.
See how those aren't really the same thing?
Here's an interesting question: that guy shows up and gets hammered by everyone on the board with multiple "thumbs down" every time he posts, yet he has a reputation score of +94?
How is that possible?
Moxie!! How great to see you in this venue. Andrew Breitbart is a genius!
Obam's Elitist Classism
I've not seen or heard anyone make an issue of this. Barrack Obama has used this line twice: "A lot of Sean Hannity's listerners probably wouldn't want to go have a beer with me." And now he has suggested that he, Policeman James Crowley and Henry Gates will meet at the whitehouse and "have a beer together".
Now considering that Barrack Obama is a dijon-mustard loving, Kobe beef eating, Pinot Noir drinking elitist snob from Harvard (and Ditto Henry Gates), why does no one make note of the clearly racist classism that the President is engaging in? This Black snob is making the racist assumption that all middle and worksing class White men equate "having a beer" with ironing out problems in their life?
This is the single most racist thing any American president has ever said publicly, to my knowledge.
It's extremely offensive, and his racism will not go un-noted here.
It is sad that this humorous piece is one of the most honest assements I have read about Mr. Obama.
Thank you for replying. But I'm not sure I see what you're saying. Are you saying that performance is all that SHOULD count? Are you saying that people SHOULD be more immune to the fact that athletes use steroids? Like I said, it's not the world's biggest deal that Obama uses a teleprompter a lot, just like it isn't the world's biggest deal that George Bush was, shall we say, plain-spoken. However, Obama's teleprompter use is still as worth pointing out as an athlete's steroid use because, again, it is simply not good for people to give others credit for more than they actually have. And there are still loads of people doing that.
You're right about that poll. But if the popularity of certain ideas was all that mattered, we would live in a direct democracy, not a republic.
And as far as the stimulus is concerned, it has shown no signs of working yet and there's evidence that it's made things worse (i.e. unexpected rise in unemployment). I don't think it's wrong to feel skeptical until that changes–and there's proof that the stimulus brought on those changes, and the economy didn't just rebound on its own.
"Thank you for replying"? That's very courteous of you, but you apparently aren't familiar with this guy. He couldn't stop himself from replying. If he was the last guy on the internet, he'd spend the rest of his life talking to himself.
And, none of us really see what he's saying. Analogies were apparently not a strength of his back in engineering school.
All economies are cyclical, Obama is betting his Presidency that it'll rebound by itself. We'll see. The problem is that his policies are anti-recovery, and he just doesn't seem to realize it. The massive levels of deficit spending Obama and the Dems that DWARF anything the GOP ran up. As for the "optional war" there are many DEMOCRATS that helped PASS that legislation and spending. I'm confident that the grass roots level American is sick and tired of the Democrats after two years of an out of conrol Dem controlled Congress and 7 months of Obama. The winds of change are blowing and it's not a Prop 8 style blow like in California.
I wouldn't want to go have a beer with Obama. I guess that makes me a "racist".
Of course, I wouldn't have a beer with William Ayers, either. Or Sean Penn. Or James Cameron. Or Robert Gibbs.
I thought the vowel czar got a bailout…
Shows what I know…
And there you have it: the problem with liberals. They don't really care what's being SAID. They just want it to SOUND GOOD.
Much like children. You can read them any story, as long as your voice is nice and soothing.
You're a "fan" … of a politician. Not only that – a politician that has been nothing but a failure. That's … really sad.
LOL, 70% of Americans believed Iraq was part of 9/11. It's all about who controls the information. What you don't point out, and what is important, is when Obama took office around 90% of Americans believed the economy was Bush's fault. Now, they were still wrong (it was all the Democrats' doing, as usual), but it says a lot about your bumbling Messiah that he's whittled down the blame for Bush by almost half … doesn't it?
"My humility always returns when I look to my wife, Michelle. She’s more of a man than I’ll ever be…"
And she's more Klingon than man.
How about his grammar? He never uses the word "an" before nouns beginning with a vowel. You'd think they would have caught that at Harvard.
Cog.. as long as you have been here, if this is the best argument you can come up with .. (Considering ALL the policies and actions that have been pointed out), I'm wondering, do you have short-term attention issues?
"Can't you come up with anything new?"… hell, you really want us to go through all his blunders?
Sorry, too much time has passed. After 'porkulus' was proven to be a epic fail and that republicans everywhere said it would be a epic fail, it's now Obama's economy.
But you are right on one count, Obama will conitunue to blame Bush. It's the only thing he knows how to do. It's going to be 2012 and he'll still blame the economy on Bush.
I am still waiting to hear that "eloquent speaker" I hear tell of constantly. All I ever hear is stammering and stuttering.
But regardless of style, I'd rather hear stammering and have someone be telling the truth than to hear the most eloquent of speakers and have the content be lies and nonsense.
I dunno Mo. I went to Drudge today and looked at the rasmussen report that he posted.
"While the President’s ratings have slipped over the past month, 54% believe that President George W. Bush is still primarily to blame for the nation’s economic problems. Just 25% believe that the economic stimulus package has helped the economy."
So I'm with the majority of American's about blaming Bush, STILL. At least, as far as what can be judged from a poll! And as far as the stimulus goes… its only still starting to come on line. The real measure of the stimulus is in 2012.
I want to see what is scrolling across his teleprompter because the great one constantly makes the one grammatical mistake that drives me up the wall. He say GUNNA instead of going to and he does it over and over in his speeches. You would think that since he is reading, he would get it right.
Tell The President to go calibrate himself.
I'm a fan of Salma Hayek.
That's sad enough…
ACORN gets money from every mortgage written, for one thing.
Having a beer with Obama would be unpleasant, at best. The guy is a snob.
If Rush Limbaugh says it, its not the same thing…kind of like Samuel Jackson dropping N-bombs all over the place.
But when it comes from a Harvard Elitist, it's racist.
Hilarious post. Too bad the late night "comedians" won't touch "The Won" with a 10 foot pole. As your post demonstrates there's plenty of material to make jokes from with Obamalamadingdong and lots of great jokes just waiting to be made. I won't hold my breath that the likes of Letterman will make any though. He's too busy making jokes about 14 yr old girls of former presidential candidates and Bush jokes to do anything else.
He was speaking about his grandmother being a TYPICAL WHITEPERSON…….. thank god, for comedy….. this man is UH… a progressive that hates everyone!!!
