"But what is so crazy about this article is that the author seems to think Europe doesn't like us because Clinton embarrassed us."

That is not what I was saying at all -- I was merely pointing out that during Bush's presidency everywhere I went in the world no one harassed me one bit. I'm not confusing anything. Yes, people were outraged at the military action, no doubt, the but the LIE that, as so many of my liberal friends kept telling me was "But they hate us overseas" No, they don't.

Wait, so you are opposed to getting your money now as opposed to a year from now at tax time? I think it's a good thing to get the money now so you can invest it rather than have it sit with the government and be wasted. But, yeah, some people may be surprised come tax time next year. Although I am not sure the tax tables haven't changed. I'm investigating.

I think you are the only conservative who would disagree with my 'sweeping statement' about Europe and Asia. And possibly one of the few that care what Europe thinks. But, I suppose you're right. They don't ALL hate us. But what is so crazy about this article is that the author seems to think Europe doesn't like us because Clinton embarrassed us. He confuses the way they felt about Bush and America in general [due to the Iraq war] with how they felt about him as a person. Of course no one in Europe would tell an American they don't like them face to face. Instead what they disliked were the Bush policies and American actions around the world.

Will you also note that the tax tables haven't changed, next year at tax time they'll still want the same amount of money sent in, all they're doing is taking out a little less withholding up front? People who haven't noticed and are expecting their normal big refund next year, will likely be very surprised.

Son of the Republic, since you're not registered I'm posting this here and hoping you'll notice.

You have many valid points. ModDem, very few, if any.

I understand your frustration with our two party system. Fact is, America needs opposites. Without contrast there is only grey. We are a very vibrant people, very energetic. If the terrorists were smarter about trying to destroy our country, they would just leave us the hell alone and wait for us to tear ourselves apart. The world has seen our strength when we unite, after Pearl Harbor, 9/11. That strength does not go away when we separate, we challenge each other, growing stronger, if we didn't have an enemy to direct our energies against, we'd have to create one to survive.

What has happened now is one side has gone malignant, attacking the freedom that supports it. The cancer of ultra-liberalism must be removed, eradicated, from the Democratic Party and wherever else it resides. I would hope for the good of the country the Democrats would do the same to us if we went totalitarian. America works best with two parties, if the Democrats don't survive what's coming I hope something rises from their ashes, otherwise the next big party will come from... somewhere, which is a scary thought.

Now Obama, he comes from Chicago politics, where they're brutal enough to beat you into voting for them but smart enough to not leave visible marks. Enough people saw this crisis coming, hell I knew the economy wouldn't last years ago when they stopped talking about price and only mentioned what payment you could afford. FDR needed a crisis to succeed. It's arguable whether Obama and friends merely timed it right or the liberals generated this crisis, but it's here and they're following FDR's path. He can't possibly be as stupid as it looks, but being so arrogant you think you can do anything and get away with it has long been noted coming from Chicago. He's out for power, if he can get it with pretty speeches of things he doesn't intend to do then he will, if he has to get out a baseball bat, well he's doing that right now.

For the good of the country, I too hope his policies fail.
