The movie was given positive reviews by 2 out of every 3 critics, according to Rotten Tomatoes. It was not exactly universally panned because of content.

The film got a 69% positive rating according to Rotten Tomatoes. Not exactly a universal panning. For that matter, Tropic Thunder, a film that bashed Hollywood all over the place, got an 82% positive rating.

So what was your theory about critics again?

Hard to say. Some of it seems genuine. Other parts are quite obviously staged.
