Palin’s Hong Kong Speech: I Can See Insanity From My Newsroom
by John ZieglerYou would think at this point it would be impossible for anyone (especially me) to be stunned or outraged by anything the news media tries to pull when it comes to Sarah Palin. After all, once you have been exposed to a year-long brutal beating, one tends to become numb to a simple low blow. However, the news coverage of her Hong Kong speech still managed to spark the senses on several levels.
First, it must be noted that it is rather incredible that this speech got as much play as it did. Remember, this is a private citizen from Alaska who was a “failed” vice-presidential candidate, who has given no official indication she is ever going to run for anything ever again. The speech was a private affair in a foreign country and contained no real “news” whatsoever. The news media was barred and were forced to cobble together bits and pieces of what was said from the paying customers who attended. And yet, nearly every major publication gave the event heavy play and links to FOUR of those articles were displayed prominently on the Drudge Report all day long.
This is simply extraordinary, a true testament to Palin’s enduring star power and just how much the media still desperately wants/needs their favorite target to stick around. It is also a vindication of her much maligned post-resignation strategy.
The initial element that shocked me about the coverage of this Hong Kong event (other than its magnitude) was that, at first glance, the reporting left a remarkably positive impression of the speech. The New York Times in its second paragraph reluctantly admitted that those in attendance thought, “she was articulate, well-prepared and even compelling.” You can almost see the Times reporter and editors cringing at having to allow the Old Grey Lady to be soiled by such blasphemy to the modern liberal as the acknowledgement that Palin is not a complete dunce.
The AFP service’s first quote in their article was, “She was brilliant,” though they added the caveat that this assessment came from a delegate who requested their anonymity (presumably to protect the ability to make future dinner reservations in New York or Los Angeles). Meanwhile, Bloomberg, after quoting someone who left the speech early as calling it “boring,” at least allowed the head of the sponsoring group to call it “a great speech.”
But a closer look at the coverage reveals that Palin Derangement Syndrome is still a robust strain within the news media and that the rules for reporting on her are completely different than anyone else in public life.
The most egregious example of this probably came from Time magazine whose account claimed she ducked questions (when she did indeed take them), was laced with only disparaging comments form those in attendance, and which had a top ten list of Palin “spoofs” embedded right in the middle of the web version. But an item in both the New York Times and Associated Press accounts of the address deserves an extra special critique.
In a classic example of the grossly distorted prism through which the Times sees all events (especially those involving Palin), their writer arbitrarily decided, with zero evidence, that the purpose of the speech was to “broaden her foreign policy credentials” for a 2012 presidential run. This then opened the door for the “reporter” to make a pronouncement that should set a new definition for the word gratuitous and a fresh standard for shoddy journalism.
The Times actually deemed it appropriate to publish: “Mrs. Palin was faulted during the campaign last year for her lack of foreign policy experience and expertise. As the governor of Alaska, she said in her own defense, she had a unique insight because ‘you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska’ — a remark that was widely lampooned.”
This is simply a stunning statement coming from the newspaper of “record.” Palin “was faulted for her lack of foreign policy experience and expertise”? By whom? For what reason? The reality is that Palin’s foreign policy experience, while meager, was still greater than our current President whose nonexistent credentials (little more than a mysterious college trip to Pakistan) were never remotely questioned by the media, and a rudimentary examination of the Vice-Presidential debate reveals that it was Joe Biden who made all the significant foreign policy blunders.
But even that pales in comparison with to the “see Russia” gem.
First, the now infamous “Russia” statement was clearly made as an aside in Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson. Palin knew that the vast majority of American’s had no idea of the geographical proximity of Russia to Alaska (which, until after the Civil War, was actually part of Russia) and said it in a “gee, isn’t this an interesting fact?” sort of way.
Second, what she said was 100% factually accurate and relevant. As for the “lampooning” of the remark, that was done inaccurately by a comedy show with an obvious agenda. The Times should be embarrassed (if that’s still possible) even mentioning the episode in this context and to not at least point out the full context, as I just did, is flat out Media Malpractice.
As pathetic as the Times reporting was, the Associated Press was downright juvenile in taking the exact same page out of the anti-Palin playbook. They wrote, “she was ridiculed during the campaign after contending her state’s proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience. “You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska,” she said.
However, amazingly, the AP hardly stopped there. They ended their piece of trash with this beauty: “Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said Tuesday the group knew little about Palin’s speech. ‘We’re curious as to what she’s willing to say in private but not in public,’ Sevugan said. ‘Are there other countries that she can see from her window that she doesn’t want us to know about?’”
This is truly astonishing. Forgetting that the DNC feels like it needs to use old, factually empty, Saturday Night Live skits to ridicule a private citizen, how absurd is it that the Associated Press has no problem ending their “report” on Palin’s speech with a blatantly inaccurate quote from a highly partisan source without even at least a mention that Palin never came close to saying anything about seeing other countries from her “window.”
This issue is a particular pet peeve of mine. After the election I paid a lot of money for a controversial Zogby poll which exposed that 87% of Obama voters wrongly thought that Sarah Palin had said she could she Russia from her “house” when it was actually Tina Fey who had said that on SNL. Then, after I appeared on The View, I was interviewed on Barbara Walters’ radio show and, incredibly, she revealed that even she was under the delusion that Sarah Palin had actually said that. Unfortunately, even some “conservative” commentators have bought at least partially into this myth.
In the coverage of Palin’s speech we see some of the many spoiled fruits of both the insidious nature of the news media and of conservatives being either unwilling or simply unable to win even the easiest of battles. If a year later we still can’t correct the record about a simple factual statement Sarah Palin made about the geographic location of her home state, how the hell can the truth win any argument?!
While it’s obviously the media’s fault that this lie has become such a large part of the Palin mythology, I have been disappointed with the timid response of conservatives on this issue and others like it. My guess is that it is because we can’t believe that people really believe this crap (trust me, the evidence is overwhelming that they do) and that , with only occasional access to talk radio and Fox News, it is just too hard to correct so we move on to other more pressing matters.
While this view is understandable, it is also remarkably shortsighted. Much like Obama was elected largely because Republicanism was killed by a series of unreputed legends over the previous ten years (Clinton was impeached for sex, Bush stole Florida, Bush lied about WMD in Iraq, Bush caused Katrina, Republicans caused the economic meltdown, etc.), the same death by a thousand lies could befall Palin.
Regardless of your view of her, our side just doesn’t have nearly enough talent to allow anyone like her to be needlessly taken out. On the bright side, the outrageous coverage of Palin’s first major post resignation speech proves that the news media is convinced that they haven’t yet finished the job.

I'll vote for her on any ballot she wishes to appear on.
Larry Kudlow of CNBC along with a couple of his colleagues all praised the speech as well. I'll trust their opinion over any of the other non-business specific news organizations.
Sarah Palin is the first politician I have grown to love due to her enemies.
She loves Guns, babies, Jesus and America and she drives those that don't crazy!!!
I am a Democrat and voted for McCain in the hopes he would beat President Harrison in the shortest term presidency and allow Palin to become President.
Palin reeks of integrity the way Ron Paul does.
Palin, I'm not sure what to think about her as a potential successful politician.
I like her and as John says we are woefully short on conservative representation at the moment
but, can she overcome the image the media has given her and they will continue to apply the pressure.
Can she overcome in the ballot booth with or without the Black Panthers patrolling the corridors.
As I mentioned I like everything about her professionally speaking as well as personally but some doubt
remains as I believe it does elsewhere in the Republican sphere.
Don't worry John, as long as she continues to bring "it", speaks truth to power, and keeps her smart wit and good looks, she will have so much viable content in the public canon that the "Russia from my house" comment will slowly abate. Reagan endured it with flying colors, so can Palin.
It's becoming so simple to find the right path through the political mine-field–If the Democrats are in favor, I'm against it. If the news media says it, I doubt it. If a politician says its critically important, I know it's pork.

Increasingly, the irrelevance of the liberal media becomes more obvious, at least to people who actually can think without a government grant or handout. I'll stick with the Giles/O'Keefes/Breitbarts of the world vs anyone from MSM on any given day. Perhaps we just say what needs to be said…"You Lie!"
What they're scared about in the 2010 election cycle, let alone 2012, is Palin's celebrity factor, and her ability to raise money for conservative candidates, with the Hong Kong speech and its reaction just serving to highlight her drawing power.
By this time next year, if you check the big media outlets, you're going to think that Sarah Palin is running for every single House, Senate, gubernatorial, state legislative and administrative seat in the country, because the Democrats and the media will be shreaking at the top of their lungs about the threat Palin (and her ilk) pose to the nation.
Lady Liberty.
I will answer your question with a question. Did Reagan overcome what the left and the media try to portray him as?
You have nailed it on the head! The FACT remains, which has yet to be fully recognized, that the Left controls the media, universities, the entertainment industry, the schools, and now the entire government. We wonder why conservatism and the republican party is faltering and falling behind the tide of change that has taken an almost complete grip of history and the American experience. Yes, those Americans that still know the truth and hold to traditional American values must not only step forward and reclaim this country at the ballot box but better get back the cultural institutions that define who we are and shape who we are in the future. Otherwise, all is lost. We will not win. This is not rocket science. Do you really think all that has happened in the last year has been a coincidence, an accident? So, keep doing what your doing Big Hollywood..but you better start thinking about growing beyond a little web site if you really think you will be able to slay the monster that we all helped create in one way or another and restore the republic.
If the MSM-DNC (the new AFL-CIO) had its way, the "see Russia from my house" misquote will be chiseled on her headstone. same with "PotatoE" on Quayle's, etc., etc., etc.
But if the absolutely GAFFTASTIC Joe Biden says something as utterly idiotic as 'Roosevelt going on TV when the market crashed…' you'll hear nothing but crickets from them.
that, my friends, is why Algore is starting to regret ever inventing the internet. thank you Lord for Breitbart, Townhall, et. al.
No offense intended here, but you really don't sound like a Democrat.
What is it that draws you to the democratic party? Is it their stance supporting abortion, expansion of the Federal government, atheism, homosexuality, ecoterrorism, illegal immigration, legislation from the Bench, or the Big Welfare Dole?
'Cause that's about all they offer these days. I'm not trying to be contentious; I just am genuinely curious as to how you see them as different from the above.
She's got MY vote if for no other reason than to tick off the New York Times!
I find Sarah Palin to be one of the ONLY straight talking conservatives out there. Strangely the left's obsession with her works to her favor. If they were to ignore her she would not have the traction she continues to benefit from. I hated the fact that the republicans chose McLame despite the fact I am an Arizonan. I only lit up once he made the decision to pick Sarah. The only decision he made that I agreed with. She represents what I think all politicians should be, concerned activist citizens who get fed up with all the BS we are forced to eat. SP is the GENUINE ARTICLE. When you speak from your heart and your convictions are in the right place, you do not need a teleprompter and you never need worry about having told one lie to one group and have it come back to haunt you at a later date. Keep going Sarah, James, Andrew, and especially Hannah, you are the base of the new republican party. Out with all the old and in with the new. If we can just survive the woodstock crowd the nation will shine again.
In the spirit of what the article is communicating, I know you realize that Palin did not make the "Russia from my house" comment, and that it was Tina Fey.
I think Sarah Palin would give anyone a run for their money for any office. I would vote for her in a heart beat.
She has a legal defense fund if anyone would like to help her and her family.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Ziegler's premise that distortions and lies will become truth if unanswered. It's been driving me crazy for years. It's what bothered me about Bush's reluctance to take on his critics — either directly or through surrogates. How many times did we hear that Bush lied about WMDs without a retort from the White House?
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sarah Palin and agree that we should vigorously point out the truth whenever the press or pundits attack her intelligence. It's an uphill battle though.

Sarah shoots- she scores…
In true hockey parlance befitting the self bestowed 'hockey mom' sobriquet. With one Tweet she literally derailed
Obamacare, and now gives a private speech halfway around the world. The minions that spring forth from the state controlled media cannot wait to find a nugget- anything- that would allow them to dance around the fire in delight.
It is, and will be, her enduring legacy to cause anguish and consternation into the ranks of the elite humanists
who know, instinctively, that a better person than they goes forth.
And for that reason alone she is much loved…
I do not understand why those with a problem with Palin who made comments like "she is only the governor of the least populous state in the union" did not have a problem with Dean who actually was the governor from the least populous state and one of the smallest states in the union.
Couldn't say it any better! If she achieves nothing else, that legacy alone will be worthwhile, but I think she is just getting warmed up.
It is amazing how much one supposedly "dumb" woman can garner so much attention.
It is amazing how much one, supposedly "dumb" woman can garner so much attention.
In my opinion, the MSM attacks are great for Sarah. With every one, they lose credibility while she gains it. Middle Americans are slow to make judgements, but they eventually despise those who lack honor. Sarah outshines the MSM like a rose in a garbage dump. Ultimately, they are ensuring her place in the White House.
bingo…I want the keys to your time machine…this is SO right on…and what's really funny, is that they live in such a bubble that they don't realize that the more they attack her, the more likely skeptical people are to take a second look at her…and decide they like her after all. That's what happened to Reagan, "the washed up TV star."
Sarah the Statist Slayer…go baby go.
Run Sarah, RUN! Go Bankrupt NY Times, GO BANKRUPT!
I have high hopes for Sarah Palin. She is a rock star.More in her little pinky than a boatful of dems. And they will sink themselves with their vitriol remarks. Sarah is no quitter. Everyone better put on their best shoes to keep up with her. When she decides to go, go, go, noone will be able to stop her. I laugh to myself when I think of how she stirs them up without even trying. And when she does try, watch out. I love that woman.
Yes, of course, but that quote is attributed to her in our public canon. I watched Tina Fey do it. I laughed. It was funny. I did NOT actually hear Palin utter the original quote. But I am smart enough to know that SNL was spoofing. That is what is scary about the public…many of them take SNL, Letterman, Leno, Stewart, etc. at face value when 99% of what they say is either an exaggeration, imbelishment, or independent observation. It is scary what potential voters can spoon into their minds today…and believe in falsehoods that were never intended to be propaganda.
She needs to channel the Iron Lady. I don't know if she will be ready by 2012, when we will need a good solid candidate, but I know eventually she will be ready. Part of the problem is that her children are small, and while a male candidate, if he has small children, it helps humanize them, when a female candidate has small children, some voters fear that the maternal obligation will be a distraction, especially a candidate that exhibits love and warmth towards her family, unlike some other cold fishes out there.
I do think if she does run she should keep her children away from public appearances. I thought it was fine last year when they appeared on stage with her, but obviously the MSM could not handle the responsibility of being civil towards her family, so the farther away from the spotlight they are, the better.
The break down is there are liberals who hate strong women, Palin and Clinton come to mind. There are millions who love her. Then there are the others are still there for the taking. If this woman was a Democrat, we'd be smothered with stories of how great this woman is to have come up the ranks from school board to governor and mother of 5 children. Katie Couric would be panting to be just like her. The magic word to kill that fairy tale is 'Republican'. They thought John McCain was great – when he bad mouthed Bush. When he ran for President, the press went after him. Helen Keller could see that the press is blatantly biased in favor of liberals and Democrats. She'll never get a fair shake.
What draws me? The fact that they aren't all for corporate welfare (talk about Big Welfare Dole). The fact that they don't try to force their religious views on me. That they don't tell my wife what she can and cannot do with her body. That they don't preach to me about my lack of moral fiber while they bork whoever they want (sometimes with multiple partners). Hypocrisy is very ugly.
I agree, but I think her integrity will win the day.
I am waiting for Massachusetts to go away and stop acting like they are important. No more Kennedy's, no reason to view them as anything other than a failed social engineering experiment. Well, that and providing us Barney, the "butt" of so many jokes.
Dumb is the defacto label of anyone conservative. Bush was dumb, Bush 41 was dumb, Reagan was dumb, its like talking to kids. Elitist are just trying to elevate themselves by making smart people that aren't trying to impress people out to be dumb. Usually, smart people realize how much they don't know or how much more they have to learn or even that most people are smart at something so they are humble. It's the idiots that are out to prove how smart they are.
PLEASE READ – Thankfully, the old, biased media is on its last legs. Yet, in the last 40 years it has done incalculable damage to America. I almost feel sorry for the brainwashed people who hate Palin, but don't know why, it's only because they have been told she is no good over and over again without explanation. As to those who respond to reasoned arguments with platitudes, or unsupported assumptions – these are the generations of people who have been brainwashed into virtual idiocy by the mainstream media. And it IS idiocy – I've been told in response to a lengthy explanation as to why I am a conservative with the simple statement "you believe in the politics of fear." Not even the person who said it understood what it meant, he had been "programmed" to say it. Or that Giuliani "made the trains run on time" as a reason why he shouldn't be supported. These are not rational arguments – these are robotic reiterations of sound bites heard in the mainstream media by people who have lost their souls. The Democrats and thier media allies have much to answer for – the near ruin of the world's greatest country.
2008 election proved that the vast majority of Americans should not be allowed to vote
and as shown by this article, nothing has changed
it is truly unfortunate that American people cant vote based on the taxes paid
in other words, those that pay the bills would actually have a say in how their money is spent
this would sent the media back on the track of their originally charted purpose.
I think Reagan would be proud.
Forgive me Gary _K after watching the current admin in action are you sure "integrity" is a resume
enhancer?
The more the MSM mocks her, the more they fear her. Sarah Palin will have the last laugh.
I have NEVER understood why Bush sat silently by while he was savaged for eight years. I hold it against him and to some expent blame him for the Democrats taking Congress in 2006 and the Presidency in 2008. It's not enough for a Republican to have great policies – you have to defend your policies and garner support for them. Otherwise you end up hated and reviled by a hostile press. You can't tell me that Bush didn't know what was going on and his silence is the reason we are where we are. In WW II we had a sbustantial committment to having support on the home front for the war – but we forgot the need for that. Bush forgot anyway. In my mind, that's why he wasn't a good President – he was a punching bag for an opposition that is immoral, arrogant, unscrupulous and now in power. If Bush had defended himself maybe none of this would have happened.
So you follow a party with no standards because then they don't have to worry about living up to them? Makes perfect sense to me.
Name the last time anyone forced their religion down your throat. And I think your wife has every right to do what she wants with her own body … right up until she potentially infringes on the rights of another human being. Why should she deny another's right to life simply because that other resides in her own body, particularly if she made the choice to have sex in the first place? This isn't religion it's human rights. And I'm sorry if you disagree that society needs to have some minimum standards of behavior and decency in order to remain coherent. Just because I tell you what I disapprove of doesn't mean that I want it made a law though. Your path is your own.
She get's the attention because rabid neocons keep proping her up and pretending like she has something useful to say. I don't care about her folksey platitudes and pleasant looks (I'll give that one to you). How about telling me how to fix the problem rather than scaring my grandmother with speechs about "death panels"?
I think the media is steadily hanging itself. They may try to spin her the same way, but this time, I don't know if enough of the country will be listening to them.
Thank you for the great piece John. In my opinion, most of the liberal press have their target(s) and are fixated on them. Ignorance is NO excuse when reporting the news. After reading some off shore reviews of Sarah's speech, she was favorable by the reporters……It's only the Hussein loving media wackos in the US that were taking swipes at her.
Palin is unfortunately the reason why no Republican has taken a leadership role in the conservative movement. They are afraid to be savaged like Palin has been – something no elected representative can stand. In that sense the Democrats have won – and the continued savaging of Palin is the warning to Republican elected officials to stay quiet or we will do to you what we did to Sarah Palin. Doesn't anyone else see this? Democrats and their mainstream media allies have no scruples, no morals, they are nothing but bundles of power hungry arrogance. Think about that next time you see a movie or watch a television show produced by Hollywood or the big three networks. As conservatives, our only choice is to avoid (don't like the word boycott) the MSM – it's our only weapon against it.
And this is EXACTLY why I'm a proud Democrat. Having more money does not make you a better person. It just means that you probably borked someone else out of theirs. Are these the people we want to turn to in times of need?
"Common Sense Conservatism" . . . No Teleprompter Required.
Even though shrill pettiness is still commonplace with the 'Late Media' coverage of Palin, a begrudging recognition is now given instead of an outright, knee-jerk dismissal.
Not only did 'Death-Panels' stop ObamaCare in it's tracks, the phrase also had great impact in that it showed the Left that she has politically savvy timing as well as an unheard of command of the sound-bite.
She singlehandedly moved the healthcare debate & put the democrats on the defensive, all the while, clearly showing the inability of the GOP to form an effective front against this leviathan legislation. She gave them a much needed argumentative toehold, even if many of them refused to recognize her importance, initially.
I, & countless others, saw this ability in her convention speech. It's about time the rest of the political universe catches up. However, I still kinda hope the Left continues their smarmy dismissal of her, just like they did Reagan. That election night will be a good night for photos of the gob-smacked Obots.
Sarah Palin . . . A Congress of One.
The phrase from the first Revolution was "No taxation without representation"
The slogan for this one ought to be "No representation without taxation"
In other words, if you don't have your own skin in the game, your vote counts less. I don't see giving more power to the rich though, then we'd be at the mercy of the Hollyweird vote. Have you seen anything from them to indicate that most of them are any better informed than the average clueless schmo?
"even during this time of financial distress we need to maintain a strong defense. All government spending should undergo serious scrutiny. No programs or agencies should be automatically immune from cuts.
We need to go back to fiscal discipline and unfortunately that has not been the view of the current Administration. They’re spending everywhere and with disregard for deficits and debts and our future economic competitiveness. Though we are engaged in two wars and face a diverse array of threats, it is the defense budget that has seen significant program cuts and has actually been reduced from current levels!
First, the Defense Department received only ½ of 1 % of the nearly trillion dollar Stimulus Package funding – even though many military projects fit the definition of “shovel-ready.” In this Administration’s first defense budget request for 2010, important programs were reduced or cancelled. As the threat of ballistic missiles from countries like North Korea and Iran grow, missile defense was slashed.
Despite the need to move men and material by air into theaters like Afghanistan, the Obama Administration sought to end production of our C-17s, the work horse of our ability to project long range power. Despite the Air Force saying it would increase future risk, the Obama Administration successfully sought to end F-22 production – at a time when both Russia and China are acquiring large numbers of next generation fighter aircraft. It strikes me as odd that Defense Secretary Gates is the only member of the Cabinet to be tasked with tightening his belt."
~Sarah Palin in China
She will never get a fair shake from people who become more irrelevant, as she becomes more relevant. She is not trying to please her enemies, she is simply usurping them.
Ditto, she has my vote as well.
Of course he doesn't have all the answers. That's why we need to have open and honest discourse about the problem, not a bunch of whack jobs showing up to try and yell over everyone else. That's not discourse that's intimidation. Once again, the politics of fear in action.
The media, bless their little red hearts, did to Sarah Palin what their Rusky Bolshevik cousins did to the Tsar and his family, and for the same reasons. They were terrified of her, ergo made sure she could never run for office ever again. Here was a woman, mother, who walked the walk (Governor with an 80% favorable rating), who could "earn" the bacon and fry it up in a pan, and look like a film star alongside her hunk of a husband, who threw their "pro choice" designation in their faces when she elected to carry to term a Downs child.
As John says, the media's harping on the "I can see Russia…" remark shows the ignorance of the American media AND the American populace. The Diomede Islands are 1 mile apart. One Diomede belongs to Russia; the other to Alaska (the US). The other border is with Canada, for the uninitatied, another foreign country. She negotiated a pipeline with and through Canada.
The American Bolsheviks are just doing what Reds do — destroy the opposition any way they can.
Aharris, I have to agree twice now that I've just read your response to Delmar above.
I am proud to have you on my train of coherent thought.
Aharris, I have to agree twice now that I've just read your response to Delmar above.
I am proud to have you on my train of coherent thoughts.
Would that be the whacks at the G-20 meeting today?
Yet you and your wife believe it is perfectly acceptable to take ownership of another human being who exists by its own distinctly unique human DNA, even going so far as you and your wife choosing whether or not that human being with its own distinctly unique human DNA gets to live or whether that human being with its own distinctly unique DNA is forced to die.
What are you? Anti-science and anti-human rights?
or simply obnoxious self-serving narcissists who prefer to eliminate life on the premise such life is inconvenient to your 'fabulous' lifestyle.
I found the next Sarah Palin her name is Chelene Nightingale she's running for governor in CA http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com help spread the word!
Love Palin? Fed up with Obama? Check out this song at: http://www.myspace.com/rogerweber
You'll feel better.
Well then you need to tell Rahm and the other Democrats to shut the hell up and come up with some answers. Too bad they simply want to close the doors to anyone that doesnt agree with them. Bottom line they have no clue how to do anything effective, all they know how to do is spend money and blame others for thier problems.
I found the next Sarah Palin her name is Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
You mean like how PEBO went into the politics and was in debt and now he is a millionaire? Gee I wonder how that happened?
I found the next Sarah Palin her name his Chelene Nighitngale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
She'll get more respect not kneeling to kiss the establishment press' rings. Liberals are going extinct. The push for such overreaching government intrusion by the left has turned a lot of people off. Even independents who voted for Obama's "Change". The same with liberal media which shows in their viewership and subscribers dropping like a rock, making them want a bailout. What was the latest poll of conservatives/liberals? over 40% say they're conservative while only a smidgen of 20% can proudly say they're liberal?
Where are the trolls? Must be still asleep, dreaming about their government subsidy checks? It is before 4:00pm! Thought the very mention of the name Palin would make them bolt up from sleep in a cold sweat.
Where are the liberal trolls? Must be still asleep, dreaming about their government subsidy checks? It is before 4:00pm! Thought the very mention of the name Palin would make them bolt up from sleep in a cold sweat.
I found you the next Sarah Palin Mr. Ziegler her name is Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com or are your ties to the Rockefellers preventing you from doing a story on Nightingale? I hope you report the truth! If you tell me Meg Whitman is the savior of CA you are more of a fraud than Jon and Ken at KFI. Alas, poor John I remember you well.
Here is another one Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
Here is another Sarah Palin…Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
The new movie trailer with Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker takes a stab at Palin. They are really afraid.
I concur. Even a born-again Christian has to know there's a point when turning the other cheek no longer works.
25% of all absentee votes are not counted. There is ton of voter fraud from both parties. There is still another 1/3 of our American population that doesn't vote. Most people believe that they are the silent conservatives.
I knew I could trust you! I think those of us who champion conservatism need to be concerned about sloppy speech habits if they tend to perpetuate even slight untruth, and *never* succumb to "newspeak".
Which is exactly why I'm opposed to the idea of your wealth affecting the power of your individual vote. We'd be concentrating far too much power in the hands of hypocritical rich liberal idiots.
If Theodore Roosevelt and Ayn Rand had ever lived in the same era and had a drunken night of unprotected sex, Sarah Palin would have been the unaborted baby.
The last time religion was crammed down my throat? How about every Yule when you all tell me "Merry CHRISTmas". How about when I say the pledge of allegience (which I do without the "under God")? How about when I testify in court I have to swear to tell the truth "so help me God"? How about when your RELIGIOUS views tell me when a couple of cells is another human being? I could go on for pages.
As far as standards, are you telling me the guy bragging about spanking one of his two mistesses has better standards than me? I have never struck a woman or cheated on my wife. I think that puts me in the lead, standards wise.
Based on Obama's track record, you'd be hard-pressed to convince anyone who isn't a flatliner…err, sorry, a liberal, that Obama has *any* answers. Yes, we mean 'answers that make sense'.
If your grandmother is indeed scared, sounds like she understands things that you choose not to, or can't.
And you're just a tool if you think that the liberals in Congress and the White House want "discourse". Gads, with a statement like that, I'm surprised you can even type.
The reason they hate her is because they are scared of her. It's hard not to watch her speak and believe she doesn't want the best for the people she represents. She's a really down to earth smart woman who has conservative views and that alone is enough for them to spend millions on smearing her.
If a lying and corrupt community organizer can be president I know this woman can.She was more qualified last year than obama will be in 3 years.Im not kidding. She ran a prosperous state, fought corruption, and had a high approval while barry did as he was told, hired some desperate or naive thugs and played the race card his whole way.Hatred for Bush surely helped.Doesn't matter anyway on the job training is ok for the white house now according to obama.
Sarah looks people in the eye when speaking to them. She answers questions with 10% less of most politician's babble instead of floppin. She actually has principles and HAS BEEN proud of her country since birth.I'd even venture to say that she would stand by the constitution.
Think about this too-isn't honesty becoming the first prerequisite you'd like to see in anyone running for any position of office. It is for me,because that's what seems to lacking the most.
I'd love to see her on a VP ticket with Ron Paul. That would be hope.
The Dems aren't interested in discourse. Everytime a Republican comes up with an amendment, it's shot down by Pelosi or Reid. Or they're left out of the debates entirely. I'm all for open debate, but the liberal wing of the Democrat party sees this as their chance to ram a far left agenda down our throats. They almost shoved the healthcare debacle through in 2 weeks without reading the bill and the senate WON'T allow it to be read before voting on it. Such as they did with the stimulus, without reading it. And it's done nothing more than increase our debt.
Except the only thing she would have in common with Teddy is her outdoorsiness (scrabble word). He was an anti-capitalist.
Sarah Palin simply put,………………………is Mrs. America. Go get some more scalps Sarah. We love ya.
The " why can't we all just get along" was the definition of the "new tone" that Dubya was
so much enamored with. It worked in Texas I am told but it sure sucked in the big leagues.
If he had stood up to McCain when he tried the gangs of 4,7,14 or whatever for instance this
may have been a different country today. "Come on Ted were showing movies tonight and
have popcorn. Why don't you write the education bill while your here? By the way, Ted, I'll
turn my back while you stab me."
I second that!
What's really cool is that Sarah had a bigger draw than our own favorite cheating husband, Bill Clinton, did last year.
While 'avoiding' the former MSM, I would suggest 'avoiding' General Electric products also. They own NBC.
Pamin Derangement is alive, well and clearly fear. Pure hateful prjudice explains why "leaders" believe a SNL parody and never knew or checked Palin's statements. Factually, you can see Russia and Canada from Alaska, and, factually, no :bush Doctrine" was ever stated by the Bush administration. She was right, and Gibson and the view ladies were mistakenly running the "party line" instead of the facts. Gibson and the nets are listening to the voices in their heads, a bad thing.
I would love Sarah Palin if for no other reason than this. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Sounds like the intro to Green Acres.
Tom, whether the Left wants to admit it, you live in a Christian country. I hardly think say Merry Christmas is cramming it down your throat. It's part of the way this country was founded and should remain so. Now if I was standing on your porch yelling "REPENT!!" you might have a complaint.
I don't complain about Jews celebrating their Holidays, or about normal Islamic folks celebrating Ramadan. Why are you complaining about something that's far more central for most Americans than it is for you?
Now that you mention it, it does.
I see; so you find the mere mention of "God" to be somehow threatening. Were you this opposed to learning Greek mythology in school? Are you offended by Halloween — Oh I see you wouldn't be so long as it was called Beltain. It bothers me not at all when someone wishes me peace and goodwill during the Holidays and they use another religious context to set the message in. I had a child in one of my classes who wished me Happy Hannukuh. Should I have been offended? Our culture is littered with references to various forms of divinity, and the Founders themselves held Natural Law in high esteem, particularly the belief that our basic rights derive from a higher power. If they don't, then our governments are pefectly free to take them from us. No one forces you to utter the words "under God" during the pledge, and as for swearing in court, the idea is to underscore that your truthful testimony is imperative. They've let guys swear on the Koran as far as I know.
palin is a milf! and that is why big john z jocks her. liquidsnake knows, and i know. i too remember big john and his days on 84whas. anyone heard of darcy davita ?
where did palin come up with the names for her children? not the "conservative book of naming your babies." her hubbie is a goof. "professional snow machine racer" WTF? are you really willing to pin your hopes on a tight hair bun, a pair of glasses and a nice fitting dress? i forgot, she likes guns and hunting and moose jerky. and at least she let her unwed daughter have her baby, she's pro life. yep, she's qualified, get her on the phone! is palin as good a fit to the republican party as you think? i like palin and not only b/c i want to see her naked. she is a forward thinker and has shown a level of accountability that surpasses many in her party. why does john z like her?
It would be worth trillions if she came out of her kitchen, rolled up her sleaves and mopped up the dirt in washington. Get it all cleanned up and even smelling clean.
Count me in too. I think she is just fantastic.
When McCain chose Palin as his running mate, I viewed it as a cynically calculated move to try and get young people and Women to vote for him (My opinion on this has not changed) I viewed her as a political lightweight, and rightly predicted that the left would begin to attack her immediately. What I didn't foresee, and am still amazed by, is the geyser of vitriol that continues to spew from the left at her mere mention. It is astounding, shocking, and puzzling. I like Sarah more now than I did during the election. Mostly because the left keeps on trying to tear her down. She has the amazing ability to bring out their dark side. My original idea of her has changed so much. No one since Bush has garnered as much rage from the left, and he rode it to a two term Presidency. Although it would have been unthinkable a year ago, if the left continues their hate-fest with Sarah Palin, they may very well succeed in getting her elected.
And just to clarify– Any governor of any state that shares a border with another country has some international experience. They have to. Here in California, Arnold meets with the Mexican president to work out problems. See for example http://www.drugpolicy.org/news/pressroom/pressrel... where Vicente Fox talks about Mexico and California cooperating to stop the drug trade. I am sure that Russian Fishing boats and Alaskan fishing boats don't just see each other. Here is a video of Palin giving a speech at an International Whaling Conference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IXXcByKpNk&fe... Way more experience than Obama. I would far rather have Palin speaking at the Un than Obama
How dare the American people try to intimidate their elected officials!
