Palin’s Hong Kong Speech: I Can See Insanity From My Newsroom
by John ZieglerYou would think at this point it would be impossible for anyone (especially me) to be stunned or outraged by anything the news media tries to pull when it comes to Sarah Palin. After all, once you have been exposed to a year-long brutal beating, one tends to become numb to a simple low blow. However, the news coverage of her Hong Kong speech still managed to spark the senses on several levels.
First, it must be noted that it is rather incredible that this speech got as much play as it did. Remember, this is a private citizen from Alaska who was a “failed” vice-presidential candidate, who has given no official indication she is ever going to run for anything ever again. The speech was a private affair in a foreign country and contained no real “news” whatsoever. The news media was barred and were forced to cobble together bits and pieces of what was said from the paying customers who attended. And yet, nearly every major publication gave the event heavy play and links to FOUR of those articles were displayed prominently on the Drudge Report all day long.
This is simply extraordinary, a true testament to Palin’s enduring star power and just how much the media still desperately wants/needs their favorite target to stick around. It is also a vindication of her much maligned post-resignation strategy.
The initial element that shocked me about the coverage of this Hong Kong event (other than its magnitude) was that, at first glance, the reporting left a remarkably positive impression of the speech. The New York Times in its second paragraph reluctantly admitted that those in attendance thought, “she was articulate, well-prepared and even compelling.” You can almost see the Times reporter and editors cringing at having to allow the Old Grey Lady to be soiled by such blasphemy to the modern liberal as the acknowledgement that Palin is not a complete dunce.
The AFP service’s first quote in their article was, “She was brilliant,” though they added the caveat that this assessment came from a delegate who requested their anonymity (presumably to protect the ability to make future dinner reservations in New York or Los Angeles). Meanwhile, Bloomberg, after quoting someone who left the speech early as calling it “boring,” at least allowed the head of the sponsoring group to call it “a great speech.”
But a closer look at the coverage reveals that Palin Derangement Syndrome is still a robust strain within the news media and that the rules for reporting on her are completely different than anyone else in public life.
The most egregious example of this probably came from Time magazine whose account claimed she ducked questions (when she did indeed take them), was laced with only disparaging comments form those in attendance, and which had a top ten list of Palin “spoofs” embedded right in the middle of the web version. But an item in both the New York Times and Associated Press accounts of the address deserves an extra special critique.
In a classic example of the grossly distorted prism through which the Times sees all events (especially those involving Palin), their writer arbitrarily decided, with zero evidence, that the purpose of the speech was to “broaden her foreign policy credentials” for a 2012 presidential run. This then opened the door for the “reporter” to make a pronouncement that should set a new definition for the word gratuitous and a fresh standard for shoddy journalism.
The Times actually deemed it appropriate to publish: “Mrs. Palin was faulted during the campaign last year for her lack of foreign policy experience and expertise. As the governor of Alaska, she said in her own defense, she had a unique insight because ‘you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska’ — a remark that was widely lampooned.”
This is simply a stunning statement coming from the newspaper of “record.” Palin “was faulted for her lack of foreign policy experience and expertise”? By whom? For what reason? The reality is that Palin’s foreign policy experience, while meager, was still greater than our current President whose nonexistent credentials (little more than a mysterious college trip to Pakistan) were never remotely questioned by the media, and a rudimentary examination of the Vice-Presidential debate reveals that it was Joe Biden who made all the significant foreign policy blunders.
But even that pales in comparison with to the “see Russia” gem.
First, the now infamous “Russia” statement was clearly made as an aside in Palin’s interview with Charlie Gibson. Palin knew that the vast majority of American’s had no idea of the geographical proximity of Russia to Alaska (which, until after the Civil War, was actually part of Russia) and said it in a “gee, isn’t this an interesting fact?” sort of way.
Second, what she said was 100% factually accurate and relevant. As for the “lampooning” of the remark, that was done inaccurately by a comedy show with an obvious agenda. The Times should be embarrassed (if that’s still possible) even mentioning the episode in this context and to not at least point out the full context, as I just did, is flat out Media Malpractice.
As pathetic as the Times reporting was, the Associated Press was downright juvenile in taking the exact same page out of the anti-Palin playbook. They wrote, “she was ridiculed during the campaign after contending her state’s proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience. “You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska,” she said.
However, amazingly, the AP hardly stopped there. They ended their piece of trash with this beauty: “Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said Tuesday the group knew little about Palin’s speech. ‘We’re curious as to what she’s willing to say in private but not in public,’ Sevugan said. ‘Are there other countries that she can see from her window that she doesn’t want us to know about?’”
This is truly astonishing. Forgetting that the DNC feels like it needs to use old, factually empty, Saturday Night Live skits to ridicule a private citizen, how absurd is it that the Associated Press has no problem ending their “report” on Palin’s speech with a blatantly inaccurate quote from a highly partisan source without even at least a mention that Palin never came close to saying anything about seeing other countries from her “window.”
This issue is a particular pet peeve of mine. After the election I paid a lot of money for a controversial Zogby poll which exposed that 87% of Obama voters wrongly thought that Sarah Palin had said she could she Russia from her “house” when it was actually Tina Fey who had said that on SNL. Then, after I appeared on The View, I was interviewed on Barbara Walters’ radio show and, incredibly, she revealed that even she was under the delusion that Sarah Palin had actually said that. Unfortunately, even some “conservative” commentators have bought at least partially into this myth.
In the coverage of Palin’s speech we see some of the many spoiled fruits of both the insidious nature of the news media and of conservatives being either unwilling or simply unable to win even the easiest of battles. If a year later we still can’t correct the record about a simple factual statement Sarah Palin made about the geographic location of her home state, how the hell can the truth win any argument?!
While it’s obviously the media’s fault that this lie has become such a large part of the Palin mythology, I have been disappointed with the timid response of conservatives on this issue and others like it. My guess is that it is because we can’t believe that people really believe this crap (trust me, the evidence is overwhelming that they do) and that , with only occasional access to talk radio and Fox News, it is just too hard to correct so we move on to other more pressing matters.
While this view is understandable, it is also remarkably shortsighted. Much like Obama was elected largely because Republicanism was killed by a series of unreputed legends over the previous ten years (Clinton was impeached for sex, Bush stole Florida, Bush lied about WMD in Iraq, Bush caused Katrina, Republicans caused the economic meltdown, etc.), the same death by a thousand lies could befall Palin.
Regardless of your view of her, our side just doesn’t have nearly enough talent to allow anyone like her to be needlessly taken out. On the bright side, the outrageous coverage of Palin’s first major post resignation speech proves that the news media is convinced that they haven’t yet finished the job.

I'll vote for her on any ballot she wishes to appear on.
Larry Kudlow of CNBC along with a couple of his colleagues all praised the speech as well. I'll trust their opinion over any of the other non-business specific news organizations.
Sarah Palin is the first politician I have grown to love due to her enemies.
She loves Guns, babies, Jesus and America and she drives those that don't crazy!!!
I am a Democrat and voted for McCain in the hopes he would beat President Harrison in the shortest term presidency and allow Palin to become President.
Palin reeks of integrity the way Ron Paul does.
Palin, I'm not sure what to think about her as a potential successful politician.
I like her and as John says we are woefully short on conservative representation at the moment
but, can she overcome the image the media has given her and they will continue to apply the pressure.
Can she overcome in the ballot booth with or without the Black Panthers patrolling the corridors.
As I mentioned I like everything about her professionally speaking as well as personally but some doubt
remains as I believe it does elsewhere in the Republican sphere.
Don't worry John, as long as she continues to bring "it", speaks truth to power, and keeps her smart wit and good looks, she will have so much viable content in the public canon that the "Russia from my house" comment will slowly abate. Reagan endured it with flying colors, so can Palin.
It's becoming so simple to find the right path through the political mine-field–If the Democrats are in favor, I'm against it. If the news media says it, I doubt it. If a politician says its critically important, I know it's pork.

Increasingly, the irrelevance of the liberal media becomes more obvious, at least to people who actually can think without a government grant or handout. I'll stick with the Giles/O'Keefes/Breitbarts of the world vs anyone from MSM on any given day. Perhaps we just say what needs to be said…"You Lie!"
What they're scared about in the 2010 election cycle, let alone 2012, is Palin's celebrity factor, and her ability to raise money for conservative candidates, with the Hong Kong speech and its reaction just serving to highlight her drawing power.
By this time next year, if you check the big media outlets, you're going to think that Sarah Palin is running for every single House, Senate, gubernatorial, state legislative and administrative seat in the country, because the Democrats and the media will be shreaking at the top of their lungs about the threat Palin (and her ilk) pose to the nation.
Lady Liberty.
I will answer your question with a question. Did Reagan overcome what the left and the media try to portray him as?
You have nailed it on the head! The FACT remains, which has yet to be fully recognized, that the Left controls the media, universities, the entertainment industry, the schools, and now the entire government. We wonder why conservatism and the republican party is faltering and falling behind the tide of change that has taken an almost complete grip of history and the American experience. Yes, those Americans that still know the truth and hold to traditional American values must not only step forward and reclaim this country at the ballot box but better get back the cultural institutions that define who we are and shape who we are in the future. Otherwise, all is lost. We will not win. This is not rocket science. Do you really think all that has happened in the last year has been a coincidence, an accident? So, keep doing what your doing Big Hollywood..but you better start thinking about growing beyond a little web site if you really think you will be able to slay the monster that we all helped create in one way or another and restore the republic.
If the MSM-DNC (the new AFL-CIO) had its way, the "see Russia from my house" misquote will be chiseled on her headstone. same with "PotatoE" on Quayle's, etc., etc., etc.
But if the absolutely GAFFTASTIC Joe Biden says something as utterly idiotic as 'Roosevelt going on TV when the market crashed…' you'll hear nothing but crickets from them.
that, my friends, is why Algore is starting to regret ever inventing the internet. thank you Lord for Breitbart, Townhall, et. al.
No offense intended here, but you really don't sound like a Democrat.
What is it that draws you to the democratic party? Is it their stance supporting abortion, expansion of the Federal government, atheism, homosexuality, ecoterrorism, illegal immigration, legislation from the Bench, or the Big Welfare Dole?
'Cause that's about all they offer these days. I'm not trying to be contentious; I just am genuinely curious as to how you see them as different from the above.
She's got MY vote if for no other reason than to tick off the New York Times!
I find Sarah Palin to be one of the ONLY straight talking conservatives out there. Strangely the left's obsession with her works to her favor. If they were to ignore her she would not have the traction she continues to benefit from. I hated the fact that the republicans chose McLame despite the fact I am an Arizonan. I only lit up once he made the decision to pick Sarah. The only decision he made that I agreed with. She represents what I think all politicians should be, concerned activist citizens who get fed up with all the BS we are forced to eat. SP is the GENUINE ARTICLE. When you speak from your heart and your convictions are in the right place, you do not need a teleprompter and you never need worry about having told one lie to one group and have it come back to haunt you at a later date. Keep going Sarah, James, Andrew, and especially Hannah, you are the base of the new republican party. Out with all the old and in with the new. If we can just survive the woodstock crowd the nation will shine again.
In the spirit of what the article is communicating, I know you realize that Palin did not make the "Russia from my house" comment, and that it was Tina Fey.
I think Sarah Palin would give anyone a run for their money for any office. I would vote for her in a heart beat.
She has a legal defense fund if anyone would like to help her and her family.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Ziegler's premise that distortions and lies will become truth if unanswered. It's been driving me crazy for years. It's what bothered me about Bush's reluctance to take on his critics — either directly or through surrogates. How many times did we hear that Bush lied about WMDs without a retort from the White House?
I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sarah Palin and agree that we should vigorously point out the truth whenever the press or pundits attack her intelligence. It's an uphill battle though.

Sarah shoots- she scores…
In true hockey parlance befitting the self bestowed 'hockey mom' sobriquet. With one Tweet she literally derailed
Obamacare, and now gives a private speech halfway around the world. The minions that spring forth from the state controlled media cannot wait to find a nugget- anything- that would allow them to dance around the fire in delight.
It is, and will be, her enduring legacy to cause anguish and consternation into the ranks of the elite humanists
who know, instinctively, that a better person than they goes forth.
And for that reason alone she is much loved…
I do not understand why those with a problem with Palin who made comments like "she is only the governor of the least populous state in the union" did not have a problem with Dean who actually was the governor from the least populous state and one of the smallest states in the union.
Couldn't say it any better! If she achieves nothing else, that legacy alone will be worthwhile, but I think she is just getting warmed up.
It is amazing how much one supposedly "dumb" woman can garner so much attention.
It is amazing how much one, supposedly "dumb" woman can garner so much attention.
In my opinion, the MSM attacks are great for Sarah. With every one, they lose credibility while she gains it. Middle Americans are slow to make judgements, but they eventually despise those who lack honor. Sarah outshines the MSM like a rose in a garbage dump. Ultimately, they are ensuring her place in the White House.
bingo…I want the keys to your time machine…this is SO right on…and what's really funny, is that they live in such a bubble that they don't realize that the more they attack her, the more likely skeptical people are to take a second look at her…and decide they like her after all. That's what happened to Reagan, "the washed up TV star."
Sarah the Statist Slayer…go baby go.
Run Sarah, RUN! Go Bankrupt NY Times, GO BANKRUPT!
I have high hopes for Sarah Palin. She is a rock star.More in her little pinky than a boatful of dems. And they will sink themselves with their vitriol remarks. Sarah is no quitter. Everyone better put on their best shoes to keep up with her. When she decides to go, go, go, noone will be able to stop her. I laugh to myself when I think of how she stirs them up without even trying. And when she does try, watch out. I love that woman.
Yes, of course, but that quote is attributed to her in our public canon. I watched Tina Fey do it. I laughed. It was funny. I did NOT actually hear Palin utter the original quote. But I am smart enough to know that SNL was spoofing. That is what is scary about the public…many of them take SNL, Letterman, Leno, Stewart, etc. at face value when 99% of what they say is either an exaggeration, imbelishment, or independent observation. It is scary what potential voters can spoon into their minds today…and believe in falsehoods that were never intended to be propaganda.
She needs to channel the Iron Lady. I don't know if she will be ready by 2012, when we will need a good solid candidate, but I know eventually she will be ready. Part of the problem is that her children are small, and while a male candidate, if he has small children, it helps humanize them, when a female candidate has small children, some voters fear that the maternal obligation will be a distraction, especially a candidate that exhibits love and warmth towards her family, unlike some other cold fishes out there.
I do think if she does run she should keep her children away from public appearances. I thought it was fine last year when they appeared on stage with her, but obviously the MSM could not handle the responsibility of being civil towards her family, so the farther away from the spotlight they are, the better.
The break down is there are liberals who hate strong women, Palin and Clinton come to mind. There are millions who love her. Then there are the others are still there for the taking. If this woman was a Democrat, we'd be smothered with stories of how great this woman is to have come up the ranks from school board to governor and mother of 5 children. Katie Couric would be panting to be just like her. The magic word to kill that fairy tale is 'Republican'. They thought John McCain was great – when he bad mouthed Bush. When he ran for President, the press went after him. Helen Keller could see that the press is blatantly biased in favor of liberals and Democrats. She'll never get a fair shake.
What draws me? The fact that they aren't all for corporate welfare (talk about Big Welfare Dole). The fact that they don't try to force their religious views on me. That they don't tell my wife what she can and cannot do with her body. That they don't preach to me about my lack of moral fiber while they bork whoever they want (sometimes with multiple partners). Hypocrisy is very ugly.
I agree, but I think her integrity will win the day.
I am waiting for Massachusetts to go away and stop acting like they are important. No more Kennedy's, no reason to view them as anything other than a failed social engineering experiment. Well, that and providing us Barney, the "butt" of so many jokes.
Dumb is the defacto label of anyone conservative. Bush was dumb, Bush 41 was dumb, Reagan was dumb, its like talking to kids. Elitist are just trying to elevate themselves by making smart people that aren't trying to impress people out to be dumb. Usually, smart people realize how much they don't know or how much more they have to learn or even that most people are smart at something so they are humble. It's the idiots that are out to prove how smart they are.
PLEASE READ – Thankfully, the old, biased media is on its last legs. Yet, in the last 40 years it has done incalculable damage to America. I almost feel sorry for the brainwashed people who hate Palin, but don't know why, it's only because they have been told she is no good over and over again without explanation. As to those who respond to reasoned arguments with platitudes, or unsupported assumptions – these are the generations of people who have been brainwashed into virtual idiocy by the mainstream media. And it IS idiocy – I've been told in response to a lengthy explanation as to why I am a conservative with the simple statement "you believe in the politics of fear." Not even the person who said it understood what it meant, he had been "programmed" to say it. Or that Giuliani "made the trains run on time" as a reason why he shouldn't be supported. These are not rational arguments – these are robotic reiterations of sound bites heard in the mainstream media by people who have lost their souls. The Democrats and thier media allies have much to answer for – the near ruin of the world's greatest country.
2008 election proved that the vast majority of Americans should not be allowed to vote
and as shown by this article, nothing has changed
it is truly unfortunate that American people cant vote based on the taxes paid
in other words, those that pay the bills would actually have a say in how their money is spent
this would sent the media back on the track of their originally charted purpose.
I think Reagan would be proud.
Forgive me Gary _K after watching the current admin in action are you sure "integrity" is a resume
enhancer?
The more the MSM mocks her, the more they fear her. Sarah Palin will have the last laugh.
I have NEVER understood why Bush sat silently by while he was savaged for eight years. I hold it against him and to some expent blame him for the Democrats taking Congress in 2006 and the Presidency in 2008. It's not enough for a Republican to have great policies – you have to defend your policies and garner support for them. Otherwise you end up hated and reviled by a hostile press. You can't tell me that Bush didn't know what was going on and his silence is the reason we are where we are. In WW II we had a sbustantial committment to having support on the home front for the war – but we forgot the need for that. Bush forgot anyway. In my mind, that's why he wasn't a good President – he was a punching bag for an opposition that is immoral, arrogant, unscrupulous and now in power. If Bush had defended himself maybe none of this would have happened.
So you follow a party with no standards because then they don't have to worry about living up to them? Makes perfect sense to me.
Name the last time anyone forced their religion down your throat. And I think your wife has every right to do what she wants with her own body … right up until she potentially infringes on the rights of another human being. Why should she deny another's right to life simply because that other resides in her own body, particularly if she made the choice to have sex in the first place? This isn't religion it's human rights. And I'm sorry if you disagree that society needs to have some minimum standards of behavior and decency in order to remain coherent. Just because I tell you what I disapprove of doesn't mean that I want it made a law though. Your path is your own.
She get's the attention because rabid neocons keep proping her up and pretending like she has something useful to say. I don't care about her folksey platitudes and pleasant looks (I'll give that one to you). How about telling me how to fix the problem rather than scaring my grandmother with speechs about "death panels"?
I think the media is steadily hanging itself. They may try to spin her the same way, but this time, I don't know if enough of the country will be listening to them.
Thank you for the great piece John. In my opinion, most of the liberal press have their target(s) and are fixated on them. Ignorance is NO excuse when reporting the news. After reading some off shore reviews of Sarah's speech, she was favorable by the reporters……It's only the Hussein loving media wackos in the US that were taking swipes at her.
Palin is unfortunately the reason why no Republican has taken a leadership role in the conservative movement. They are afraid to be savaged like Palin has been – something no elected representative can stand. In that sense the Democrats have won – and the continued savaging of Palin is the warning to Republican elected officials to stay quiet or we will do to you what we did to Sarah Palin. Doesn't anyone else see this? Democrats and their mainstream media allies have no scruples, no morals, they are nothing but bundles of power hungry arrogance. Think about that next time you see a movie or watch a television show produced by Hollywood or the big three networks. As conservatives, our only choice is to avoid (don't like the word boycott) the MSM – it's our only weapon against it.
And this is EXACTLY why I'm a proud Democrat. Having more money does not make you a better person. It just means that you probably borked someone else out of theirs. Are these the people we want to turn to in times of need?
"Common Sense Conservatism" . . . No Teleprompter Required.
Even though shrill pettiness is still commonplace with the 'Late Media' coverage of Palin, a begrudging recognition is now given instead of an outright, knee-jerk dismissal.
Not only did 'Death-Panels' stop ObamaCare in it's tracks, the phrase also had great impact in that it showed the Left that she has politically savvy timing as well as an unheard of command of the sound-bite.
She singlehandedly moved the healthcare debate & put the democrats on the defensive, all the while, clearly showing the inability of the GOP to form an effective front against this leviathan legislation. She gave them a much needed argumentative toehold, even if many of them refused to recognize her importance, initially.
I, & countless others, saw this ability in her convention speech. It's about time the rest of the political universe catches up. However, I still kinda hope the Left continues their smarmy dismissal of her, just like they did Reagan. That election night will be a good night for photos of the gob-smacked Obots.
Sarah Palin . . . A Congress of One.
The phrase from the first Revolution was "No taxation without representation"
The slogan for this one ought to be "No representation without taxation"
In other words, if you don't have your own skin in the game, your vote counts less. I don't see giving more power to the rich though, then we'd be at the mercy of the Hollyweird vote. Have you seen anything from them to indicate that most of them are any better informed than the average clueless schmo?
"even during this time of financial distress we need to maintain a strong defense. All government spending should undergo serious scrutiny. No programs or agencies should be automatically immune from cuts.
We need to go back to fiscal discipline and unfortunately that has not been the view of the current Administration. They’re spending everywhere and with disregard for deficits and debts and our future economic competitiveness. Though we are engaged in two wars and face a diverse array of threats, it is the defense budget that has seen significant program cuts and has actually been reduced from current levels!
First, the Defense Department received only ½ of 1 % of the nearly trillion dollar Stimulus Package funding – even though many military projects fit the definition of “shovel-ready.” In this Administration’s first defense budget request for 2010, important programs were reduced or cancelled. As the threat of ballistic missiles from countries like North Korea and Iran grow, missile defense was slashed.
Despite the need to move men and material by air into theaters like Afghanistan, the Obama Administration sought to end production of our C-17s, the work horse of our ability to project long range power. Despite the Air Force saying it would increase future risk, the Obama Administration successfully sought to end F-22 production – at a time when both Russia and China are acquiring large numbers of next generation fighter aircraft. It strikes me as odd that Defense Secretary Gates is the only member of the Cabinet to be tasked with tightening his belt."
~Sarah Palin in China
She will never get a fair shake from people who become more irrelevant, as she becomes more relevant. She is not trying to please her enemies, she is simply usurping them.
Ditto, she has my vote as well.
Of course he doesn't have all the answers. That's why we need to have open and honest discourse about the problem, not a bunch of whack jobs showing up to try and yell over everyone else. That's not discourse that's intimidation. Once again, the politics of fear in action.
The media, bless their little red hearts, did to Sarah Palin what their Rusky Bolshevik cousins did to the Tsar and his family, and for the same reasons. They were terrified of her, ergo made sure she could never run for office ever again. Here was a woman, mother, who walked the walk (Governor with an 80% favorable rating), who could "earn" the bacon and fry it up in a pan, and look like a film star alongside her hunk of a husband, who threw their "pro choice" designation in their faces when she elected to carry to term a Downs child.
As John says, the media's harping on the "I can see Russia…" remark shows the ignorance of the American media AND the American populace. The Diomede Islands are 1 mile apart. One Diomede belongs to Russia; the other to Alaska (the US). The other border is with Canada, for the uninitatied, another foreign country. She negotiated a pipeline with and through Canada.
The American Bolsheviks are just doing what Reds do — destroy the opposition any way they can.
Aharris, I have to agree twice now that I've just read your response to Delmar above.
I am proud to have you on my train of coherent thought.
Aharris, I have to agree twice now that I've just read your response to Delmar above.
I am proud to have you on my train of coherent thoughts.
Would that be the whacks at the G-20 meeting today?
Yet you and your wife believe it is perfectly acceptable to take ownership of another human being who exists by its own distinctly unique human DNA, even going so far as you and your wife choosing whether or not that human being with its own distinctly unique human DNA gets to live or whether that human being with its own distinctly unique DNA is forced to die.
What are you? Anti-science and anti-human rights?
or simply obnoxious self-serving narcissists who prefer to eliminate life on the premise such life is inconvenient to your 'fabulous' lifestyle.
I found the next Sarah Palin her name is Chelene Nightingale she's running for governor in CA http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com help spread the word!
Love Palin? Fed up with Obama? Check out this song at: http://www.myspace.com/rogerweber
You'll feel better.
Well then you need to tell Rahm and the other Democrats to shut the hell up and come up with some answers. Too bad they simply want to close the doors to anyone that doesnt agree with them. Bottom line they have no clue how to do anything effective, all they know how to do is spend money and blame others for thier problems.
I found the next Sarah Palin her name is Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
You mean like how PEBO went into the politics and was in debt and now he is a millionaire? Gee I wonder how that happened?
I found the next Sarah Palin her name his Chelene Nighitngale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
She'll get more respect not kneeling to kiss the establishment press' rings. Liberals are going extinct. The push for such overreaching government intrusion by the left has turned a lot of people off. Even independents who voted for Obama's "Change". The same with liberal media which shows in their viewership and subscribers dropping like a rock, making them want a bailout. What was the latest poll of conservatives/liberals? over 40% say they're conservative while only a smidgen of 20% can proudly say they're liberal?
Where are the trolls? Must be still asleep, dreaming about their government subsidy checks? It is before 4:00pm! Thought the very mention of the name Palin would make them bolt up from sleep in a cold sweat.
Where are the liberal trolls? Must be still asleep, dreaming about their government subsidy checks? It is before 4:00pm! Thought the very mention of the name Palin would make them bolt up from sleep in a cold sweat.
I found you the next Sarah Palin Mr. Ziegler her name is Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com or are your ties to the Rockefellers preventing you from doing a story on Nightingale? I hope you report the truth! If you tell me Meg Whitman is the savior of CA you are more of a fraud than Jon and Ken at KFI. Alas, poor John I remember you well.
Here is another one Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
Here is another Sarah Palin…Chelene Nightingale http://www.nightingaleforgovernor.com
The new movie trailer with Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker takes a stab at Palin. They are really afraid.
I concur. Even a born-again Christian has to know there's a point when turning the other cheek no longer works.
25% of all absentee votes are not counted. There is ton of voter fraud from both parties. There is still another 1/3 of our American population that doesn't vote. Most people believe that they are the silent conservatives.
I knew I could trust you! I think those of us who champion conservatism need to be concerned about sloppy speech habits if they tend to perpetuate even slight untruth, and *never* succumb to "newspeak".
Which is exactly why I'm opposed to the idea of your wealth affecting the power of your individual vote. We'd be concentrating far too much power in the hands of hypocritical rich liberal idiots.
If Theodore Roosevelt and Ayn Rand had ever lived in the same era and had a drunken night of unprotected sex, Sarah Palin would have been the unaborted baby.
The last time religion was crammed down my throat? How about every Yule when you all tell me "Merry CHRISTmas". How about when I say the pledge of allegience (which I do without the "under God")? How about when I testify in court I have to swear to tell the truth "so help me God"? How about when your RELIGIOUS views tell me when a couple of cells is another human being? I could go on for pages.
As far as standards, are you telling me the guy bragging about spanking one of his two mistesses has better standards than me? I have never struck a woman or cheated on my wife. I think that puts me in the lead, standards wise.
Based on Obama's track record, you'd be hard-pressed to convince anyone who isn't a flatliner…err, sorry, a liberal, that Obama has *any* answers. Yes, we mean 'answers that make sense'.
If your grandmother is indeed scared, sounds like she understands things that you choose not to, or can't.
And you're just a tool if you think that the liberals in Congress and the White House want "discourse". Gads, with a statement like that, I'm surprised you can even type.
The reason they hate her is because they are scared of her. It's hard not to watch her speak and believe she doesn't want the best for the people she represents. She's a really down to earth smart woman who has conservative views and that alone is enough for them to spend millions on smearing her.
If a lying and corrupt community organizer can be president I know this woman can.She was more qualified last year than obama will be in 3 years.Im not kidding. She ran a prosperous state, fought corruption, and had a high approval while barry did as he was told, hired some desperate or naive thugs and played the race card his whole way.Hatred for Bush surely helped.Doesn't matter anyway on the job training is ok for the white house now according to obama.
Sarah looks people in the eye when speaking to them. She answers questions with 10% less of most politician's babble instead of floppin. She actually has principles and HAS BEEN proud of her country since birth.I'd even venture to say that she would stand by the constitution.
Think about this too-isn't honesty becoming the first prerequisite you'd like to see in anyone running for any position of office. It is for me,because that's what seems to lacking the most.
I'd love to see her on a VP ticket with Ron Paul. That would be hope.
The Dems aren't interested in discourse. Everytime a Republican comes up with an amendment, it's shot down by Pelosi or Reid. Or they're left out of the debates entirely. I'm all for open debate, but the liberal wing of the Democrat party sees this as their chance to ram a far left agenda down our throats. They almost shoved the healthcare debacle through in 2 weeks without reading the bill and the senate WON'T allow it to be read before voting on it. Such as they did with the stimulus, without reading it. And it's done nothing more than increase our debt.
Except the only thing she would have in common with Teddy is her outdoorsiness (scrabble word). He was an anti-capitalist.
Sarah Palin simply put,………………………is Mrs. America. Go get some more scalps Sarah. We love ya.
The " why can't we all just get along" was the definition of the "new tone" that Dubya was
so much enamored with. It worked in Texas I am told but it sure sucked in the big leagues.
If he had stood up to McCain when he tried the gangs of 4,7,14 or whatever for instance this
may have been a different country today. "Come on Ted were showing movies tonight and
have popcorn. Why don't you write the education bill while your here? By the way, Ted, I'll
turn my back while you stab me."
I second that!
What's really cool is that Sarah had a bigger draw than our own favorite cheating husband, Bill Clinton, did last year.
While 'avoiding' the former MSM, I would suggest 'avoiding' General Electric products also. They own NBC.
Pamin Derangement is alive, well and clearly fear. Pure hateful prjudice explains why "leaders" believe a SNL parody and never knew or checked Palin's statements. Factually, you can see Russia and Canada from Alaska, and, factually, no :bush Doctrine" was ever stated by the Bush administration. She was right, and Gibson and the view ladies were mistakenly running the "party line" instead of the facts. Gibson and the nets are listening to the voices in their heads, a bad thing.
I would love Sarah Palin if for no other reason than this. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Sounds like the intro to Green Acres.
Tom, whether the Left wants to admit it, you live in a Christian country. I hardly think say Merry Christmas is cramming it down your throat. It's part of the way this country was founded and should remain so. Now if I was standing on your porch yelling "REPENT!!" you might have a complaint.
I don't complain about Jews celebrating their Holidays, or about normal Islamic folks celebrating Ramadan. Why are you complaining about something that's far more central for most Americans than it is for you?
Now that you mention it, it does.
I see; so you find the mere mention of "God" to be somehow threatening. Were you this opposed to learning Greek mythology in school? Are you offended by Halloween — Oh I see you wouldn't be so long as it was called Beltain. It bothers me not at all when someone wishes me peace and goodwill during the Holidays and they use another religious context to set the message in. I had a child in one of my classes who wished me Happy Hannukuh. Should I have been offended? Our culture is littered with references to various forms of divinity, and the Founders themselves held Natural Law in high esteem, particularly the belief that our basic rights derive from a higher power. If they don't, then our governments are pefectly free to take them from us. No one forces you to utter the words "under God" during the pledge, and as for swearing in court, the idea is to underscore that your truthful testimony is imperative. They've let guys swear on the Koran as far as I know.
palin is a milf! and that is why big john z jocks her. liquidsnake knows, and i know. i too remember big john and his days on 84whas. anyone heard of darcy davita ?
where did palin come up with the names for her children? not the "conservative book of naming your babies." her hubbie is a goof. "professional snow machine racer" WTF? are you really willing to pin your hopes on a tight hair bun, a pair of glasses and a nice fitting dress? i forgot, she likes guns and hunting and moose jerky. and at least she let her unwed daughter have her baby, she's pro life. yep, she's qualified, get her on the phone! is palin as good a fit to the republican party as you think? i like palin and not only b/c i want to see her naked. she is a forward thinker and has shown a level of accountability that surpasses many in her party. why does john z like her?
It would be worth trillions if she came out of her kitchen, rolled up her sleaves and mopped up the dirt in washington. Get it all cleanned up and even smelling clean.
Count me in too. I think she is just fantastic.
When McCain chose Palin as his running mate, I viewed it as a cynically calculated move to try and get young people and Women to vote for him (My opinion on this has not changed) I viewed her as a political lightweight, and rightly predicted that the left would begin to attack her immediately. What I didn't foresee, and am still amazed by, is the geyser of vitriol that continues to spew from the left at her mere mention. It is astounding, shocking, and puzzling. I like Sarah more now than I did during the election. Mostly because the left keeps on trying to tear her down. She has the amazing ability to bring out their dark side. My original idea of her has changed so much. No one since Bush has garnered as much rage from the left, and he rode it to a two term Presidency. Although it would have been unthinkable a year ago, if the left continues their hate-fest with Sarah Palin, they may very well succeed in getting her elected.
And just to clarify– Any governor of any state that shares a border with another country has some international experience. They have to. Here in California, Arnold meets with the Mexican president to work out problems. See for example http://www.drugpolicy.org/news/pressroom/pressrel... where Vicente Fox talks about Mexico and California cooperating to stop the drug trade. I am sure that Russian Fishing boats and Alaskan fishing boats don't just see each other. Here is a video of Palin giving a speech at an International Whaling Conference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IXXcByKpNk&fe... Way more experience than Obama. I would far rather have Palin speaking at the Un than Obama
How dare the American people try to intimidate their elected officials!
I guess "Time" sold 1 copy. Was BHO on cover again? Thanks Zeg. "Media Malpractice" was great.
The left is the dark side! They see crisis in EVERYTHING. To them, everyone is suffering. They play the victim/race/gender/transgender cards whenever they can't come up with substantive arguments (which is most of the time). I don't think she's a lightweight, but I do think she can use some experience how the world of cut throat politics works. And I believe she is finding that out very quick.
She wouldn't be selling us out as he has since he's taken office.
Such thin skin, Tom. You recoil at the mere mention of "Merry Christmas" like Dracula to a cross, and you got the unmitigated gall to generalize Christians as intolerant?
Maybe if we all chipped in and bought you a giant, plastic bubble, then this mean old life would never bother you again.
Sorry folks, I just can't take these overgrown children seriously anymore.
It's simple. Sarah Palin speaks the truth. Sarah Palin shares my political beliefs, positions, and values. I don't cast my vote based on educational pedigree, media myths, or smooth talk. Sarah Palin will receive the votes of myself, my wife, and my children.
Wow, I didn't think real reporters were out there anymore. Thank your for this post.
Hey Tom, Barack Obama is the one running around flapping his gums saying the same junk over and over again…how about you tell HIM to STFU and listen to those of us who HAVE been conversing with him.
And Sarah Palin scares you because she will do what a Real Woman does to layabouts who moan for a goverment solution: get off your duff and DO something. A Real Man doesnt sit around waiting for someone to tell him what to do.
Youd better check the water you drink, Tom. I think youve been spiking it with extra estrogen…
On top of that TOM – its HYPOCRISY for you to claim that there should be an "open and honest discourse" when YOUR MAN has told everyone that the conversation is over, that there will be no negotiations, "we won" and we can quite literally SEE how DIShonest his cronies are.
You wanna run that fatuous statement by me one more time???
All the education in the world doesn't do you a damn bit of good without the wisdom to back it up. Like Reagan before her, Palin's got wisdom.
I can see insanity "in" my news room.
Signed,
A retired authentic journalist
Let's face it, campers. Palin is a little weak on foreign matters. She is working to improve her abilities in this area.
Of course, my criticism of her doesn't negate the fact that in foreign affairs she's Churchill compared to Obama.
Excellent.
The irrelevant media will never let go but Americans are proving far smarter than they believed them to be. Sarah Palin is the left's worse nightmare. Attractive, articulate, witty, knowledgeable where necessary and above all a woman of impeccable INTEGRITY. Its comforting to know she causes insomnia for all Democrats.
I will vote for Sarah on any ticket presented to me.
Sarah Palin obviously had no idea what she was talking about when it came to economics. She actually stated in her speech that TOO MUCH regulation caused the current financial crisis. Talk about ignorance.
And, therefore, we do not need diversity-in-broadcasting czar. Need open, free press.
Jennifer – I dont think you have enough regulation of your brain. How's about I demand a government works program to come fix that for you?
No one today is speaking with the moral clarity and fidelity to traditional American notions of liberty as Sarah Palin. I am more impressed every time I hear her or read her writings, which always strike the nerve of the issue yet ring with a rich, mature understanding of the greater good. She is like a tonic to the heart.
You beat me to it! I was going there!
Yes, Reagan had enormous obstacles by the Left, and he succeeded beautifully. Palin can do it, as well.
You can call an unborn child a "bundle of cells" to disassociate yourself from the fact that it is a human life, but semantics doesn't make it so. I am seeing more and more scientists make the point that from the point of conception that bundle of cells is living and uniquely human. That is not a religious point of view, but a logical one. Abortion is only about the laziness and convenience of irresponsible people.
The MSM's and left's fear of her becomes more palpable every time they put pen to paper or open their mouths to recycle their canards and spin her words. I don't think they have a clue how tough she is and how hard she may decide to strike back when the time is right. It will be gratifying to watch when it happens.
The funny thing here is that the news media's job used to be to give us the facts….for a while their job was to decide what our news should be…not any more, even though they try so hard, I'm pretty sure their pink slip is marked on the calendar in the not so distant future. We are just not buying their falsehoods and agendas any more!
At last, the spokesman for the Beavis and Butt-head delegation speaks.
Palin/Bolton 2012!
If you look at the polls, Palin's numbers are pretty low. If the polls are true, why do the dems and their media minions continue the attacks? I suspect that private polling conducted by the White House War Room have vastly different results. Polls such as those put out by PPP are all part of the psychological warfare being waged against both Palin and her supporters.
The trouble with sarah is that although she has welded on supporters , there are a far greater number of people that truly despise her. So the conservatives could choose to pin their hopes on her but they face almost certain democratic and demographic defeat.
greg, I dont know your circumstances but a woman who derides city folk as un-american and learning as nasty sophistry is not going to attract the vote of anyone under the age of 40 who lives in the cities or anyone with a decent well rounded education. I love people who are self made but i dont love people who put down education as elitist.
I'm so tired of the Palin cronies blaming every single reporter in the news business (except of course the National Enquirer and Fox) for what every single one of them has witnessed over the last year. To say that the government has somehow mysteriously taken over NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, AP, Reuters Time, USA Today, US News and World Report, and every single independent news organization borders on total insanity. Those who kill the messenger whenever they don't like the message are the same ones who have refused to learn from their mistakes. If Palin would only take the time to LISTEN to what everybody says, she would then be in a position to learn and start to grow into the position she obviously craves.
I'm not sure exactly why, but Palin is the one and only person I would donate to and volunteer for. She just seems more authentic. And I'm sure the blistering hatred from the MSM has something to do with it, as well. Truthfully, I don't think any Conservative can win a nationwide office when you have nearly every major media outlet sliming them.
"To say that the government has somehow mysteriously taken over NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, AP, Reuters Time, USA Today, US News and World Report, and every single independent news organization borders on total insanity."
So you don't think those "news" organizations have a leftward slant? I don't even know how a Conservative can compete when those are all in the tank for the Dem.
hahahahahahahahhahha you guys are a crack up, playing stupid and ignorant on purpose, good one. Keep it up guys I luv it, sweet.
If you believe that "everyone" has a leftward slant, Is it possible that you actually have a rightward slant when compared to "everyone"?
What people don't realize is all this Palin bashing is not personal. She is simply perceived by the Obamatrons as a possible future opponent! Obamatrons must crush every potential rival to their messiah. Since she is the strongest and most publicized one she gets the worst treatment. Bobby Jindal got the same stomping after he did that Republican response to an Obama speech a few months ago – remember? The hypnotized Obama lovers' latest tack is to simply label everyone a racist who opposes Obama for any reason. Palin will continue to be bashed as will all others to come – the Obamatrons never rest!
Obama supporters, whatever name you care to call them, can't wait for you to run her. Bring her on. She'll bury the party for a generation.
Palin is a retard.
I WILL VOTE FOR SARAH PALIN. PERIOD. INTEGRITY, HUMILITY, COMMON SENSE. FORGE AHEAD SARAH.
I don't care how much or for how long they beat up on Sarah Palin, I still love her because she continues to fight for the type of America I used to know. How I'd love to see it again!
yep.
coming around the corner ……….."Madame President"
it sounds soo good.
It sounds to me that you are as much afraid of what the media can do to Sarah Palin, as what the media is afraid of what she can do to charm the electorate. I don't know about you, but I knew who she was, only by reputation, about eight months before John McCain introduced her to the public, and I was smitten five minutes into her acceptance speech.
I am quite confident that if she wants the job she will have it.
Ivan
If there's one person that the Liberal Inquisition hates most, it's Sarah Palin.
This, of course, is a good reason to like Sarah Palin.
The libs are out to politically kill this woman. They are terrified of her and therefore she must be done away with. Remember: "EVERYBODY EXPECTS…THE LIBERAL INQUISITION!" at http://firebreathingchristian.wordpress.com/2009/...
I think it is not that the Republican leadership hasn't recognized her ability, rather, they dismiss her because she came from outside of the DC ranks……….this is intollerable to them. Since she doesn't owe any of them, they cannot control her (as the vitriol with McCain and his staffers so clearly illustrated)
I would crawl 100 miles on my belly to vote for her anyday, anytime! Sarah is the embodiment of a true American patriot.
I must admit, He is a better writer than most of the AP nitwits………but seriously, what a juvenile load of horse hockey! This is just another display of a complete inabillity to form a rational argument. He must be the product of one of our fine government run indoctrination centers (public schools for those in Rio Linda).
And no one has shown up to say why some group or other won't vote for Palin yet? I'm encouraged!
We, all of us, need to stop worrying about what other (unnamed or mysterious or hypothetical) people will do or not do and start supporting the people we like. Stop second guessing what other people will do or how they will react to the news coverage. And don't we all know that there is no one that will not draw the same attacks as Palin has and does? So if she runs, or if some other politician comes to prominence, expect it! And don't let it, or concern trolls, persuade you to abandon the candidate you like the best.
George Soros PR company is behind the constant smears of Sarah Palin. Soros, the most evil man in the country, will not stop until the spot light is on him night and day. He will slip up eventually and hopefully someone will expose his evilness toward her and all things good and decent. Obama is not running the country, George Soros is! Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and Andrew Breitbart have been esposing him but it's not coming through to the masses yet. There's got to be OUTRAGE towards him.
You bring up a good point: Mrs. Palin will have to navigate a mine field in the mid-term elections of 2010. On the one hand, if she gets too involved, she risks the media making this an election where it's every incumbent democrat v. Sarah Palin, with the obvious spin should any targeted incumbent retain his/her seat. On the other hand, if she doesn't get involved, she risks losing her unique position as the populist of the energized "common-sense conservative" — or, as I prefer to define it, paleo-libertarianism or Rüstow's definition of paleoliberalism — movement.
This will be a consequential test of her viability in 2012 – IF SHE WANTS IT.
What is truly amazing is the number of Americans, on both sides of the issue, spending this much time discussing her future…AND SHE HASN'T INDICATED ANY INTEREST OR INTENTION! I'm loving it.
Ivan
You betcha, but I think the pressure will be more intense this time around as the media has displayed even less scruples then 20years ago. She is the only reason I voted for McCain other than voting against
Obama and I would do it again but will she be elected? One can hope..
For a "nothing" the left is certainly obsessed with her. Legislation is even CHANGED because of her comments.
You show a trifle more confidence than I do but that maybe a carry over from the past election. I had absolutely no confidence as many others shared in McCain carrying the vote and while Palin was a real addition to the ticket and the party she couldn't do it alone. No help from the McCain staffers at all.
But you know all this, I guess I will have to take to heart what you and others are saying , she may be our ownly chance. Forgive me Romney, Hucklebee and whomever.
This is true, she will bury the democrat/communist party forever!
Of course, the man-child Obama is doing a damned fine job of destroying the party on his on!
2008 election proved that the vast majority of Americans should not be allowed to vote
it is truly unfortunate that American people dont vote based on the taxes paid – election day would be 4/15 and the election would be based on one vote for each dollar of taxes paid
in other words, those that pay the bills would actually have a say in how their money is spent
this would sent the media back on the track of their originally charted purpose.
Oh Bah Humbug! Cranky much…
Oh Bah Humbug!
I thought Obama had all the answers to "fix the problem" How's that hopey, changy, thing workin for ya?
She's a Republican! He's a liberal from a northeastern state. She's from the sticks. That's what it comes down to.
I don't know if Meg Whitman would make a good governor or not, but at least she's someone many people have heard of [she was E-Bay pres & CEO for 10 years, during it's spectacular growth]. That's got to be the first pre-requisite for a Republican candidate, because whoever it is won't get any free publicity like who ever the democrat candidate turns out to be.
BTW, are you Nightingale's campaign manager? If so, here's a tip: posting the same comment/link over and over on a comment board tends to annoy people, which doesn't help your candidate.
I love her all the more that liberals hate her.
Palin is a handsome woman. That alone is enough to bring on the wrath of the liberals. By the way,
did y'all see Hillary at Obama's talk today? If she were a couch, Good Will would decline the offer.
Just 9 months ago she was the "Rock Star" of the Democrat Party. My, have the mighty fallen! I guess
I'm a sexist AND a racist. Thank God we live in a free country, so far……..
Wow, I just posted a comment saying basically the same thing you did, and I didn't even see your comment until just now. I guess there must be many of us with the same thoughts. Didn't start out as fans of Palin, but the irrational level of hate spewed at her seems to be having the opposite effect that they (the left) intended.

The facts are that Obama had little to no experience in foreign policy (as we can now see) or even domestic policy (as our wallets are feeling). Yet the press were attacking the VP CANDIDATE, not McCain, as though she were on the top of the ticket. They knew she had the chance to be a HUGE player in the Republican party, and had to squash her at all costs. Which they still do. Plus 90% of the press votes Democrat, so you put 2 and 2 together. The press is going down in flames and they're too arrogant to realize why! It's because your blatant bias IS killing what was once an honorable profession.

Ever heard of Fannie Mae? Freddie Mac? OFHEO?
Didn't think so.
If I live long enough to see the dinosaur media die and Sarah Palin elected president, I'll die happy.
And you misunderstand my objections to abortion. I don't make them on purely religious grounds. I make them based on the truth that babies are born human beings. That means they became human before they exited the womb and are certifiably human as early as 21 weeks at which point they have a chance to survive if born early through modern medical ability. If a child born at 21 weeks is human, why wouldn't one 21 weeks along in utero not be human? And how far back does humanness extend?
As for cells being human, at some point the unborn becomes human before it exits its mother's womb. Even scientists agree that we are unlikely to ever be able to tell at which precise point sentience occurs. Quite frankly, I prefer to err on the side of caution rather than have the advancement of science someday determine that we have murdered countless numbers of human beings simply because their presence was inconvenient.

Palin had my vote the day she first spoke to McCain supporters; she still does.
Thank you, Mr. Ziegler for your relentless efforts to expose biased major media, cowards in the GOP, and the liars in the DNC.
I'm shocked that she scares the left so. They're reacting in absolute fear striking out in any way they can and succeeding in only spotlighting their fear. That's her contribution to the great debate then. Sarah Palin's maturing as a politico draws all eyes to her. All she needs to do is refine that public speaking and there's the next game changer.
Samhain is the Celtic holiday Halloween is around and probably based off of. (Early Christianity started making religious holidays around the same time ancient pagan holidays were, presumably to aid in converting nonbelievers.)
Beltaine is in the spring.
You might want to check the wealth of the Democratic leadership.
Then apply your class envy to them as well.
Oh, the irony. Someone's ignorantly relying on teh Narrative to tell her how the financial crisis came about, and it isn't Sarah Palin.
Thanks for that correction. We wouldn't want to offend any neo-pagans who may show up here.
Are you sure "sentience" is the term you're looking for? That comes a good ways past birth, I would think. By that standard, we could abort two-week old infants because they were keeping us up at night.
I think a reasonable scientific standard to determine the presence of life, is the exact same objective, scientific standard that is used by medical doctors to certify the cessation of life. That is, heartbeat and brainwave pattern.
If you're flatlining, you're dead. That's a legal standard. Why would it not work equally well on the front end?
I can see insanity "in" my news room.
No, I'm not what is annoying is that Meg Whitman has ties to Van Jones and no one is doing a story about that. Whitman is another extension of Gov Arnold. Thanks, for the tip. I just hate Republicans and Democrats. The Democrat will be either Jerry Brown (again) or Gavin Newsome.
"She get's the attention because rabid neocons keep proping her up and pretending like she has something useful to say."
She gave a speech to a private audience in Hong Kong. I only know about it because the media insists on telling me everything she does and Leftist internet posters can't pass up an opportunity to tell me how irrelevant she is.
I don't see anyone propping her up. But I sure do see a lot of scared folks trying to tear her down.
Who gives a damn what the Dead Media thinks. They keep acting like they matter anymore. They are just a fish thrown out of the water flopping all around gasping for air. I am sure they have a great time drinking there Martini's talking to each other in there echo chamber, And now the papers want DC money. Wonderful they are now not even hiding they are Pravda. They are so pitiful. They have to stay in NY and LA if they leave the will be laughed off the planet.
As insane as this logic may be, I honestly think the fringe media (NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, the New York Times, et. al….. formerly called the mainstream media {MSM}), decided they hated Palin because, she did not abort her physically handicapped child prior to birth. In their world, killing off that child would be appropriate & her failure to do so made her an enemy worth eternal loathing. There are dozens of other issues to attach to the fringe media's hatred of her, but I really do think it all started w/ her decision to have that child. When Palin referred to the health care reform "quality of life" panels, she took a direct shot at what will one day be typical policy of that panel to issue a judgment to expectant mothers that their birth defective baby should be aborted according to national health care policy. Palin really did hit the nail on the head when she called them death panels. It may not be how they are referred to in current legislation… but the end result will be a panel of hyper partisan politico's who will make choices that should be left to a patient & their Doctor!
I am so sick of neither major party doing anything to enforce our immigration laws. It is about power plain and simple. And their greed for power comes at the expense of my own back and their need to tax me and my family out of existence. Illegal aliens get their utilities, housing, food, education and whatever else I'm unaware of paid for by the American taxpayer. I believe Nightingale is the only CA candidate for governor that will actually enforce our laws. Don't be fooled by the pedestal that the GOP will put Whitman on.
Hence why the dems, lefties and mainstream media are trying to destroy her. Don't forget, alot of these guys where around for Reagan and they did not like him (Reagan) one bit. The problem with Obama and his ilk is they think too much. Ivy League Elitist that are trying to be some kind of ruling class. Palin is smart she is just not "Ivy League" smart and I love her for it.
Sara puts here name down, she gets my vote.
I highly recommend How "Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted". Great DVD by Mr. Ziegler, I purchased from Conservative Book Club. Watching the DVD and re-living the election 8 months later was so surreal. Highly recommend.
Please quote Palin saying city folk are un-American.
Please quote Palin saying learning is nasty sophistry.
Please quote Palin putting down education as elitist. Actually, I don't even think you know what elitist–elitism is.
I hope in your search you will learn something about truth compared to perception.
Have you heard of the Graham Leach Bliley Act or the Commodities Futures Act? Have you heard of the author of both of those acts, Senator Phil Graham? Or his wife Wendy Graham, who sat on the board of Enron?
The last time I saw the press go after a potential presidential candidate like they've tee'd off on Ms. Palin, they were hot on the trail of and out to take down Ronald Regan. A few years later, he was president-two terms, widely popular among voters. The press was astounded. Shocked the whole time! Sarah definitely has some star power. Whether or not she can really deliver in the end, a la Regan, is up in the air, but she's definitely ignited lefties in the media like he did.
Sarah Palin has great integrity, which is sorely missing from our current politicians in power. She is scorned by pro-abortion, huge government, and sense of entitlement radicals, who are attempting to destroy our beloved United States of America, as well as our Constitution. I agree that she is a philosophical progeny of Ronald Reagon, one of our greatest and most successful Presidents. Thank you John Ziegler for your courage to seek and report the TRUTH. Let's stop the timid response, and take an empowered stand for our American values NOW!
Gingrich was mortally wounded by 343 false charges and paying a $400,000 "fine" for an error his attorney made.
I love Sarah Palin but fear unless she becomes a Baracuda, she may have been mortally wounded by 20 false charges plus Gibson, Coric, etc. Republicans should never send lambs, love them we may, before wolves. Not until the lamb has been tested and proved by years of hostile fire. Reagan spoke publicly for over 20 years on subjects like"What's great about American". Only that vast well of experience carried him above this villanous media.
Advice to Conservatives and Republicans: Buy, study and memorize of Media Malpractice!
If you like having effective ammunition to outsmart informed Democrats, and leave typical democrats in awe, only Ann Coulter's book "Treason" equals the information packed in John Ziegler's DVD on the media v. Sarah Palin.
The media has always shown a complete willingness to fabricate "news" when and where necessary to advance their causes, and to discredit a foe. Considering the amount of fabrication hurled in Palin's direction, it is very obvious that they consider her a very real and present danger/threat to their tenuous hold on majority power. Palin should well feel flattered by all the attention paid to her by the left, and their ceaseless and feeble attempts to topple her. She is obviously doing many things right, or she wouldn't even be a blip on their radar screen. Sarah, please keep up your efforts to force the left to assign a disproportionally large contingent of their attack dogs to you and your goings-on. This has the beneficial side-effect of causing the left to be in short supply of attack dogs to assign to other Republican threats, thereby allowing them extra freedom to formulate and carry out their plans to take back the White House in 2012. Your mis-directions are working wonderfully, and the left won't know what hit them until it's too late!! BRAVO, and many ENCORES!!
One thing that should not be eft out is the whisper campaign within her own party that perpetuates those myths about her "dumbnest". Remember the leaks from her supposed handlers? That came from someone in the Republican Party. Even they are scared of her, which makes me like her even more. I realize those hits probably came from someone like Mitt Romney who couldn't possibly get the media or public following she gets. The Republican power brokers also fear her. Most likely its because she's not only smart, but she is a woman. I wish her well in whatever she chooses to persue.
That's why we need to have open and honest discourse about the problem, not a bunch of whack jobs showing up to try and yell over everyone else.
Wow, the shameless and brazen mendacity is amazing.
Your side is hardly for "open and honest discourse" by any meaning of the phrase. Hint: rushing the stage and basically shutting down speeches, meetings, etc. by people you don't like is in no way comparable to citizens responding angrily when their Congresscritter blatantly lies to them.
Next he'll be claiming the "neocons" made those people keep making bogus ethics charges and spread brazen smears about her even after the election ended.
Poor babies, they had no choice.
The state run media cannot ignore her because she is effective. Sarah's arguments are powerful and compelling. Whenever she speaks, the media cannot resist her star power.
Oh dear, so you mean I'm not supposed to say "thank you" when someone wishes me a Merry Christmas?
Something tells me you're a little high-strung with regard to religion.
Say what you want, if the Democrats pass socialize health care, we will have death panels because the government will be forced to ration care. The death panel remark captured the debate and effectively killed the Zeke Emmanuel philosophy of focusing health care on the 15 to 40 years of age, which happen to be our healthier years. Before a problem can be address it has to be identified. Sarah identified the problem with government rationed care. Let's kill the bill before it kills us.
Sarah is everything the left is afraid of because being like her is harder than being a liberal. It's easy to have no class and live the "anything goes" life style (that's what destroyed California). But it takes a bit of work and self repect to have morals, faith in God and a great work ethic. People are always afraid of what they don't relate to. They are afraid of her, I and everyone I know are afraid of this new administration. God Help us all, even you libs. . .
John, did you actually say "Independent News Organizations"? Take a look at the corporations that own this so-called media. There are 3 or 4 owners of all media. Most newspapers, TV stations and especially networks are all owned by the same power brokers. Almost all media is corporate owned and has a stake in policy and their own interests in mind when they report. When you do find an Independent organization, please point them out to us. You can begin your research by looking at media holdings of General Electric and go from there. I don't have time to list them for you. Lets just say they all had a stake in seeing government bail-out Wall Street.
Keep up the good work John. I am always on the lookout for you by-line.
Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving.
She has the right enemies. She has exposed the Mainstream Media for the pack of dogs they are.
Even people like me who have criticized the media for years, did not know the full depth of their depravity.
Media malpractice indeed.
Ziegler is right. By pushing back against the myth the media has built around Palin, we all help clear room for the truth and honest discussion rather than the hateful echos inside the liberal bubble.
Read her writing. To help out the reporters flesh out their non-story she posted her notes on facebook.
She has held up well under tremendous pressure.
Sara deserves our respect and gratitude.
Wonderful stuff! Sarah will outfox them all.
One quibble: What's with "our side just doesn’t have nearly enough talent"? We've got lots of strong freedom-loving voices springing to life out of the fertile ground of spring and summer tea parties and town halls!
Keep up the great work!!!
I want to see her elected just to watch the looney-lefties go apoplectic.
CNN's angle was an ironic one–that no one in Hong Kong knew who she was, [so she must be irrelevant--yet here they were reporting on it]. The segment consisted of a reporter walking the streets of Hong Kong, showing random passersby a photo of Palin, asking if they know who she is. Not one of them did. The WSJ did a piece on her visit, where they quoted one of the organizers as saying they invited her b/c she is an interesting figure, etc., etc. Past guests have included Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Alan Greenspan. CNN made it seem like she's some pathetic little person who went where she wasn't on anyone's radar, at her own behest, to broaden her foreign policy credentials. (sound familiar?) Yet there is other coverage on cnn.com with the headline, "Palin causes stir in Hong Kong." First she's an irrelevant nobody who no one will pay attention to, then she causes a stir. Which is it?
Oddly, I despised the thought of Palin as McCain's running mate. I knew from day one the media was going to cream her, and that McCain gave the election to Obama by throwing away his #1 weapon (his experience). As a moderate, I view some of her positions as those of a right wing nutter. That said, all the unwarranted, over-the-top vitriol directed toward her by the mainstream media (this incl. Hollywood) has had the effect of putting me in her corner. The bias and dishonesty of the media was breathtaking. Anyone being honest will admit the media always had a leftist tilt, but they took it to unprecedented heights this past election cycle. I will vote for her over whomever they support, b/c there must be something wrong with any candidate supported by the likes of the infantile and dishonest media at large. For them to stoop to such low levels and resort to such deceptive tactics speaks volumes about the type of people they are, and also why they did it. Clearly they are afraid of her, and they don't feel she can be defeated solely on the merits, via unbiased reporting.
There is an old saying, "Don't mess with Texas." Well soon they will be a new old saying. "We should not have messed with Palin." She is a pistol packing Mama and one of the most refreshing people to come along in a long time. She is smart, she is honest, and she is tough. The liberals know it and are scared to death of her. They will be sorry they ever messed with the great lady from Alaska. She will make them pay..
Palin is the boogeywoman for both the Republican and the Democrat parties. The Republican party fears her because it is completely out of phase with what she stands for. There has hardly been a conservative thought in the Republican party since the Contract With America days. It is easy for Republicans to leave Palin to the be mauled by the wolves of the MSM. She makes them uncomfortable.
The Democrats are terrified of here. Her power to stay in the news is a two-edged sword. The media is trying as hard as it can to discredit her but can not do so without providing here with plenty of free publicity. If there is any credence to the adage "any publicity is good publicity" then Palin's star is rising.
She is in a similar position that Thatcher found herself in during her early days in politics. Thatcher was perceived as lacking experience in regards to foreign policy and diplomacy. Thatcher managed to change that perception and managed to become a very successful figure in GB politics. Palin can do the same and appears to be working towards that goal. Conducting policy speeches like this one, to foreign audiences, while making the malicious agents of the MSM sit outside the door to scrape for a story is, IMHO, a good stategery (tygw).

The Associated Press, the New York Times, Time Magazine… aren't these out of business yet? Does anyone even read them anymore?
I think the electorate is smart enough after the snow job they got from the left wing media during the presidential campaign to never trust them again and simply ignore them….
It's pretty obvious that the country suffers from a bad case of buyer's remorse!
We need to dismantle the lying mainstream media. They have lied to us for a long time, and they completely betrayed us in 2008 by not vetting a Marxist presidential candidate.
Operationcanyouhearusnow.com is organizing protests in front of media outlets throughout the U.S. on October 17th. I hope people will organize and attend these protests and think of other creative ways to take back the media, the schools, and the arts.
It is refreshing to see Sarah Palin back in the public view. It is a sign of hope that she has with-stood the smears that all Conservative Constitutionalists continue to survive. The 2008 'so called' election was a sham and a foreign disgrace to America. We intend to clean house of the corruption and start over. I do not agree with the manner that John McCain treated Ms. Palin and continues to disrespect her. In the end, Sarah was right and John was very wrong. Welcome home Sarah, we are behind you.
Even Sheriff Joe's old mother was worried about "death panels". As she married a used car salesman in Scranton, I hope she could tell her son was lying to her when he called the idea of rationing "malarkey".
Understanding the geographic break from the Lower 48 as I do, most people have no concept what it is like to live in Alaska. Pop culture doesn't stand a chance. Toss in the Northern Lights and days on end of daylight or darkness. No matter how you slice it, when you are in Alaska, you know you aren't held down by elite betters from American coasts anymore. Much like the opening of Star Wars and fairy tales– Once upon a time in a land far far away… Alaska is awesome.
I mention this because the Cold War has laid dormant for some time but the Russian bear is awakening. Duck and cover's not just for Cuba anymore. Putin is one neighbor you would go all "Rear Window" on. Behind those binoculars you want Jimmy Stewart on fishing vessels. I can not begin to describe to you the anxiety of being watched let alone believing your ship is going to be boarded by Russians. Does America really believe we have such a benevolent Coast Guard for crab fishing alone?
Of all the strategic beach head gin joints in the US, the RNC walked into Alaska. Sarah should talk up looking at Russia because the closest path between two red phones is the Bering Straight. Patrick Swayze has gone ahead for you can see the "Red Dawn" from Alaska of Putin with Chavez with Ahmadinejad with…
LOL! I can see the foam dripping out of all your mouths. Relax people. You take things WAY to serious.
There was an SNL skit many years ago about Justice Thomas' confirmation hearings and the character playing Ted Kennedy said something like, "I find the best way to get a woman is to go into the bedroom and then walk out without any pants on."
Perhaps we should start attributing that to the late senator?
She has my vote if shes on the ballot at least she tell the truth and tells it like it is!! She doesn't make up stuff and mislead the American people like others do!!!!!
By the way, "Tom". Is your name "Delmar Jackson"? I asked the question of him, because he came on here for the record as a Democrat for Sarah Palin.
I really don't give a rat's ass why you're a Democrat. But from reading your posts, it appears you're most attracted by the abortion and atheism. Thanks for validating my opinion.
The word Rights is rooted in the word Righteousness. Take away Righteousness and your rights soon disappear as well. Think about one of the most unrighteousness days in our recent history, September 11, 2001. Soon after many our our "Rights" were suspended. Our right to travel was hindered. We were forced to remove our shoes to get on an airplane. Some were striped searched or patted down like a criminal. When people live a righteous life, one that is pleasing in the eyes of the LORD then we are truly free.
If you believe the right wants to restrict or take away your rights. What do you believe socialist or communism will do for you. Wake up. You are worried about losing your choice to have an abortion. In a socialist republic you will have no choice to keep or have or how many children.
Be careful what you ask for.
A government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have., Thomas Jefferson.
Hanoi Sarah certainly has a lot of fans here. It looks like the Palin groupies are going to start wearing their Mao jackets openly now, instead of only at their party meetings. Maybe Sarah's book can come in a little red edition, just to make the picture complete.
Just what was she thinking? Getting paid by the Chinese to attack the American president while in communist China during time of war. And while the parallels to Hanoi Jane are striking to anyone who hasn't drunk the koolaid, it doesn't mean our nutty conservative MSM will comment on it. They've never take Hanoi Sarah to task for anything before, so they're not about to start now.
As usual, it's up to the liberals to do the media's job for them. We'll be the ones reminding America about where the loyalties of Palin and her groupies lie. Her fans can sputter their outrage, but we'll still be pointing out they support a candidate who is taking 6-figure speaking fees from commie bankers.
How would you have reacted if a Democrat had taken money from the Chinese to speak in communist China and criticize Bush during time of war? That's exactly how you should be reacting towards Sarah Palin right now. No excuses about how "it's different!", because it's not. Just cast her out already. You'll be surprised how much better acting ethically makes you feel. Who knows, you could even find it habit-forming.
Isn't it amusing how it's usually the lefty protests that warrant the use of force in order to keep the peace?
I guess it's one of the few stealth double standard that actually falls in our favor. =)
"I don't see anyone propping her up. But I sure do see a lot of scared folks trying to tear her down."
Quoted for truth.
She isn't being propped up, the fact that she actually stands for something is passively rallying people to a cause.
The Dixie Chicks were private citizens playing a concert that contained no news whatsoever. And you guys all shit yourselves about what they said.
Pshh, they don't need her in order to stay the course to bankruptcy. Their everyday reporting on any subject at all is doing a decent enough job of that.
I think the truth ultimately wins out. There are many people in the conservative middle class that feel exactly like I do. For instance the leaders of the left wing party are mostly immature creatures who believe that if you put wings on a horse, it can fly. They never think a plan through because they are too busy thinking up new plans, one more outlandish than the last. They want to be noticed and what is more noticable than bringing down the politicians that are pathetically trying to run the country. Khrushchev once said when he was in power and sitting on the opposite side of the conference table from the U.S. that "the United States would ultimately be destroyed, not from an enemy but from within it's own borders.
johnny i still crack up the way you dressed down that chick on MSLCD. that was a hoot.
p.s. i am in love with sarah palin, and i think tina fey is a hack.
my question to you is tina fey kissing @$$ to get another acting gig or does she really beleive that stuff.
Well, Jack, if you look, that is essentially what the Founders had in mind when they limited the vote to landowners, business owners and trade journeymen, a political constituency made up of actual contributors to the national wealth. Unfortunately, this has since been overturned by 'wiser' politicians who pander to the 'vote for me, and I'll give you more of HIS' crowd – it will never be turned back, although I do like the idea of April 15th becoming a national holiday dedicated to paying taxes and voting.
And, Tom – your reply was spoken like a true Zero-Sum-Game Dem, who does not understand a single thing about an economy, or wealth creation, but who only believes that anyone who succeeds is doing so on the backs of some downtrodden victims, somewhere. It is retrograde foolishness of the highest order, and will lead to exactly what we are seeing now, a more tightly controlled, and far slower growing (if there is any growth at all) national wealth.
When I lived in alaska, we generally ignored the drunks. Think I will continue that policy, here.
Jennifer – Yes, speaking of ignorance, the housing bubble was caused directly by regulation which forced loans to sub-prime borrowers (i.e. regulations which should never have been written, i.e. TOO MUCH regulation!).
Too bad that the then-Dem-controlled congress was too busy raking in campaign contributions hand-over-fist to bother to respond with anything other than BS when Bush and his administration tried to get them to change those regulations and curb the excesses of Fannie & Freddy.
Yoyo – You are showing exactly the reason why people dislike Sarah, as you have obviously swallowed all the BS shoveled out by the left, and the media (sorry for the redundancy, there) regarding Gov. Palins views on things.
Thank you. Your comment has become my mantra.
It's interesting. I saw an interview with Sarah before you ran for VP. She was informative, intelligent and engaging. I keep telling people that only know her from SNL and the crappy MSM interviews that they have no idea how amazing this woman is.
May I be equally adult, and respond with, 'It takes one to know one'.
Except that, in your case, it takes one to fantasize one.
Hmm, I guess I really should register here, as I am having far too much fun to have to type in my name and email for each comment.
Great Article, and definitely points the true media bias still controlling our journalism, or lack thereof! The media is truly blind, and so are most of the folks drinking that Kool Aid! She was hacked and given a raw deal, and whether folks like her or not, her agendas and views would be alot better for this country than the radical, corrupt agenda now being shoved down all of our throats! TRAVESTY! It just chaffs my Britches! PS it also will drive my votes in 2010 and 2012 – CAN ANYONE SPELL C O N S E R V A T I V E?!?!?
Great stuff as usual John. Here is a site I'd like Time Magazine to check out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di191ks_KLk&fe...
Perhaps they can embed this link in their next article about Obama, Biden, or Pelosi?
You are so right on the money. The state run media will never tell us the truth. They expect us to believe their lies. Palin is for real and that is why they must take her out. The truth will set you free. The only exception is the Dems and the state run media. They believe the lies will set you free. The bigger the target the more you are the truth and right. They can't fight withn her on the facts or the truthh. Why let the facts get in the way of a good story. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2077365/james_m...
We have as much to fight in the media as we do in the government. Propaganda is the war of words, and this is the war we must win.
If the media likes someone…. WE SHOULDN'T!!!!
That's what got us McCain! I'll be happy the day we throw the last shovel of dirt on the evil state run media.
I believe that not only do the Democrats fear Sarah Palin but the Republicans fear her even more. Sarah Palin cleaned up corruption in her State wherever she found it. She didn't just go after Democrats, she went after her own party as well. There is so much corruption on both sides that they are all in fear of her. She is refreshingly honest. She is a very determined and courageous woman and has proven to be a definite force to be reckoned with. She's got my vote.
Hugh J wrote:

Another epic Breitbot fail.
I can't wait for 2012(or '16,20,24,whenever) so we can watch Palin lose 48 states.
Instead of issuing persnickety corrections, Mrs. Palin needs to embrace that quote. Make variations on it the centerpiece of all her oratory. "I can see corruption from my house! I can see vote fraud from my house! I can see media bias without even leaving my house!"
Make the Democrats regret they ever invented it.
I agree, You should look out the window before accepting their weather report.
I'm afraid the state run media will be with us forever tho they sure have lost influence if the
ratings mean anything. As much as I appreciate FOX you weigh carefully what they tell you..

LOL!
Two nights ago, I again watched Sarah's RNC acceptance speech. No teleprompters, no detailed script…Just a few note cards on the podium, which she rarrely looked at. The content and deliverly were brilliant. I have never seen a better speech–not even from Ronald Reagan. Look: I will go to war against liberals for this woman. I will fight to the last man. She is our greatest American leader–period. This is why the scum of the Left hate her…She terrifies them. She towered over McCain and the party–and they wasted her. She's the smartest, the best and the brightest. And she's highly intelligent and accomplished. She should be on the currency. I left the the Republican party, and will not give them money–due to "jokers" like McCain, who continues to emarras. But I adamantly support Sarah Palin and Michele Malkin–and will contribute to their campaings forever.
I hate to tell you; but, this country was founded on GODS principles.
Oh, yes!
Hey Mamooth… we're not at war with China, Palin didn't call our soldiers war criminals or meet with the leaders of a hostile nation (Pelosi/Syria). We're friends with China, right? So what is wrong with any American citizen going there and speaking about trade opportunities in Alaska and elsewhere in the US and doing a little bit of promotion of the free market and responsible capitalism? Or is promoting the market now anti-Obama?
You're just mad because she's better at foreign relations with major economies and world powers as a half-*ssed civilian than Obama is as The Won.
I'm with you WalterMitty. I too would vote for her on whatever ticket she appears on. Funny just said this to my wife last nite!!
The Rebulican establishment would never nominate her for national office, not unless they want to keep getting 36to 40%of the national vote. She rallys the base but has no pull with Independents. She would not have to worry about Liberals attacking her in the Primary ,her opponents will do the job.But don't let that stop you from getting behind her to run, there is nothing more we on the left would love to see than Palin at the top of your ticket. Victory for the Dems guranteed.

No. There's one difference between Sarah and Lady Liberty.
Lipstick.
I've personally had it w/ the MSM. And I think the conservatives and libertarians realize that we need to go to verbal warfare with the MSM. They continue to move left and become more and more disingenuous in their coverage.
Time, Newsweek, cBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, NY Times, CNN, Wash. Post vs Fox, Talk Radio and the Blogs.

SARAH PALIN 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is inspiring to see Sarah Palin fighting. I admire her guts and tenacity.
By the third of Obambi's third year, Independent will crawl over broken glass, through barbed wire, with bullets flying over their heads to vote against the clown. Sarah will simply benefit from the utter disgust that the mere mention of the name Obama will bring come 2012.
Obama's 'my Muslim faith' is a useful retort to the 'Palin window' misquote.
I was just out jogging in Manhattan and saw a guy with a "I Hate Sarah Palin" T-shirt. What is with these people?

Go Sarah! I think she is the female version of Ronald Reagan. I admire her for taking the "high road" approach when it comes to most media attacks. I thought she was wise to speak out against David Letterman and demand an apology. The main-stream media continues to show their true colors of narrow mindedness and bias against anything Sarah Palin does. But in some strange twist they love to hate her.
Mr. Ziegler – it's nice to see you at BigHollywood.com. I've been following you since you put out the "Media Malpractice" DVD.
Sarah Palin is a true philosophical progeny of Ronald Reagan. She has walked the walk. What peeked my attention, before her now fabled run as Vice President, was her challenge to corrupt authority within her own political party. A great deal I have learned since then only makes me more vociferous in my support for the soon to be Madame President. She is not only guine in her beliefs but more importantly she is not part of the Yale/Harvard bubble mentality that has gotten us into so much trouble.
If you were around during the Goldwater campaign, you would have seen just as much venom as we see now. It was a little before my time, but the intense media hatred that Nixon faced his entire career started when he challanged a left wing media darlng, Helen Gahagan Douglas at about the same time Reagan was fighting the socialists in the S.A.G. Palin is in for a hard time, but it isn't new and it can be overcome. The breaking of the MSM monopoly on news should be a big help.
Go Sarah….we are backing you for President of the United States in 2012. You are the best. The Liberals are just jealous of you as you are brilliant, beautiful with a real family which most of them do not have. Go girl.
Absolutely spot on JZ.
Keep up the great work.
I am,
The Hollywood Republican
Hey Andrew, I think you mean failed vice presidential candidate, not "failed" vice presidential candidate. I mean, I know reality has a liberal bias but come on!
The more they roast her, the more I like her. Sarah Palin is an intelligent, articulate and engaging woman who speaks openly and freely. She also does so without a teleprompter! I liked her when she first appeared on the stage with McCain and I like her more every time I get to hear her. The fact that the left hates her so badly makes her even more likeable. I mean, even if she doesn't ever run for office again, it's nice to know she can keep the blood pressure up on the liberal side.
Woops. John. I meant to make fun of John.
Think about this! how easy would it have been for McCain to sign every lame bill out of congress including Cap and trade whose career would he have hurt.? God works in mysterious ways. He helped wake up America, So I am not mad at Glenn Beck for his statement. I just hope this So called Messiah and his comrades don't do much more damage to this country.
John I miss you very much on the radio I will read this site more often. Breit is a genius
Mesa, Az
But you can see Russia from her house – it's true. She showed John Ziegler when he was there interviewing her for the documentary.
As far as people believing that Sarah said she could see Russia from her house, I fing it easy to believe that manu people believe it. Remember Dan Quayle? There are many people who still believe that he said thte people in latin America speak Latin, as a serious sytatement. He did; as a joke, which everyone present understood as a joke. But enterprising reporters reported it as a serious comment to show his ignorance.
If Sarah would jump into the 2010 campaign by helping "Real" conservatives win their races she would become the one and only Republican front runner in 2012. She can earn the respect and support of the people by helping the new not-for-sale politicians who know what the Constitution means get elected.
She will always be my Governor, until she becomes my president. I will treat your president with respect when you treat my governor with respect media

I'm old enough to be around at the time tho I was trying to figure why I liked the humans with the long hair better than I like the ones with the short hair then all of a sudden everyone had long hair and I had to find another way to tell them apart. I was a bit slow. However, as usual the folks and the media were intertwined, more so than today as you state. The folks were tired of the war and that also helped Pres Nixon to overcome opposing media . The democrats still owned congress.
But your point is well taken Just about anytime a Republican came in power they had to overcome
the media to succeed. But I can't think of anytime in the past when the old big 3 were any more llopsided than they are now. Losing viewers and influence make them that way but they didn't have anywhere near the no holds barred, all is fair, attitude they have now in concert with each other plus they have several cable outlets plus all the print media sharing their hate for conservatives. Thats why I think they will look at it as a last ditch attempt to stay meaningful and will pull out all stops.
Our bountiful lady of Alaska has much to overcome….if she is a candidate.
So, we're at war with China? And Sarah had her pics taken on an antiaircraft gun, ready to shoot down American pilots?
Let's see, she spoke at a business meeting, and was paid her speaker fee by them.
Perhaps, when it comes to ethics, you should attempt to practice prior to preach.
I'm a liberal and I'd vote for Palin any day she chooses to run! We need honesty, common sense and a degree of toughness more than anything right now and Palin's got it all.
Thanks John, for pointing out what a disgrace most of the US media still is!
SARAH BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES! SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE! A REAL HOPE FOR CHANGE! I WILL VOTE FOR HER IN A N.Y. SECOND! GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!
New disgusting AP hit piece here :
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM...
And here is Agence France-Presse (AFP) version, which is a nothing more than a Palin slam fest:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090923/pl_afp/hongk...
ex. "There were no apparent gaffes though from Palin, who was mocked during last year's presidential campaign for her lack of experience in foreign affairs and for her verbal blunders."
[my italicized emphasis, if it shows up]
Brilliant, I hope you don't mind if I use it.
i like her and i give her credit, she ignores those who oppose her and keeps fighting for what is right. does not give in with the washington crowd.. put people and family first.
Sarah Palin is a stunning, dynamic, compelling, individual who has more integrity in her little pinky than all of Washington combined. Not only will I vote for her presidential bid but I will be holding Palin fundraisers and working hard for whatever party she associates with. I have never been politically engaged before, but she has brought me into the arena with the gloves off and ready to roll.
NEWS WRITERS SUFFER FROM VERY RARE FROM OF FECULAE ENCEPHALAE.
My own personal fantasy is a Pawlenty/Palin ticket in 2012. I know, it's kinda "out there", but I would vote for either one of them no matter which side of the POTUS/VP side they ended up on.
As far as the Palin detractors, a Palin candidacy is not all that far fetched. Think: In the primaries, she can command a ferocious groundswell of voter turnout. The Red Diaper Doper Babies won't be doing the voting. With enough media exposure, and the proper handling of the dogs, she could very well pull this thing off. I just hope she is doing her homework and steeling herself for the onslaught. Actually, a vicious onslaught could backfire and push her over the top.
John Z., thank you for this report. What is striking as I read the comments about Sarah is the caliber of responses, thoughtfulness and admiration that America has for this courageous Lady. The left know this, but the RINO elites aka “legends in their own minds” are too stupid to realize this.
The past presidential election has been a national nightmare. Yet, unlike John McCain, yes he also was part of my nightmare, Sarah’s beacon still shines.
Go Sarah!, become Alaska’s senator, wait less then 2 years, then go for the USA presidency.
God Bless America
Show videos of Van Jones, Obama, ACORN, etc, caught in the act and it is denied. But when the fringe media has no legs to stand on, that's when they claim they are doing their job! Thank God most of America can see through them and are letting their ratings and newspapers go down the toilet!
Go Sarah Go! She need to get down to the low 48 states and campiagn true conservative in the 2010 and 2012 to limit government and give it back to the individual States and local. A
SHE does not need to overcome any image. She is 100% real and image you are talking about is something left media poisoned YOUR brain with. YOU are the one who need to overcome lies to be able to see clearly….

Great article, John! I can just imagine what you must be thinking of Barack Hussein Obama.. mm.mm.mm. (sorry, I can't help myself!) during the G20. It would have been a hoot to hear Sarah Palin dealing with all the Big Bad Blathering Bully dictators, instead of Barry, or even Johnny Mac. Predictably, our fabulous press continues the Palin Hatchet Job. They're liberals run amuck in all the print media!
My goodness Vera, I'm not attributing any image to her. I'm on your side.
I'm looking at her from a realistic can she be elected even with yours and my vote..
It doesn't make any difference what you and I think as individuals it is important what the
the electorate thinks. We need sufficent votes to overcome the opposition to her.
The media has influence, if not Obama would not have been elected. The media is going
to go after her with a vengence. You can already see that today and she hasn't even announced
she is running. The same media that you agree has given her an unfavorable image.
Don't be mad at me, I was just weighing the possibilities.
I gave you a thumbs up anyway for defending Sarah Palin.
P.S You owe me an all is forgiven
My opposition to abortion has little to do with religion, and is based almost entirely on biology and science. It's based no more on religion than the founding of this great country.
Because a fertilized human egg onward is a unique human being that is alive, even before it has a heart. You really can't see the difference b/w the beginning of life and end of life?
I love Sarah Palin. She has put honesty back into politics. If she does run for president in 2012, we have to support her. I'd like to see her with $1.5 billion for her campaign. This is very dooable.
Its time to take on the unnecessary criticism she receives from the media. Many liberals call and write to advertisers of Glenn Beck and other Fox News shows. Its time we turned that coin over and do the same to MSNBC, Katie Couic, and others.
I have no doubt that Sarah Palin can save this country.
It didn't surprise me that Time would say negative things against Palin. Especially when they named Obama "Man of the Year" . And this is before he had shown what he was made of. And picked his wife as one of the most beautiful people of the year. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've seen better looking horses than her.
I guess she's not as dumb as dumb liberals make her to be. Why are the liberals so scared of her. Afraid that she might make President and start us back on the right path?
Yep, you sound EXACTLY like a democrat—you eat and sleep all that CRAP that democrats dish out about
conservatives! You just might want to take a CLOSE look at your democrat buddies and what they are
doing!!! Nobody is going to try to FORCE thier religious views on you–it's obvious you don't have any to start
with–and you obviously don't want any. You apparantly want your wife to be able to murder your kids before
they have a chance to make a difference in this world. And just who was the last one that you BORKED?
I spent 20 years serving this country, with a year of that out on the Aleution Dew Line. I can tell you, for sure, as
governor of Alaska, she was in charge of the Alaskan Military Guys who were on the FRONT LINE OF DEFENSE
of this country, she was MORE PRIVY TO MORE INFORMATION AND DATA about this WORLD than half of the
CHARACTERS in Washington, D. C. ever DREAMED of knowing. I have stood outside of our radar sites there
and WATCHED Russian Bear Bombers overflying her state's territory. Russian jet fighters would fly as far as they
could until OUR jet fighters were scrambled on them and they would high-tail back across the Bering Strait as fast
as they could. Believe me, SHE KNEW ALL ABOUT WHAT GOES ON!!!
Heck, is this a right wing nutcase blog – looks like the author is a definite right-wing wacho who wants to defend palin by using nuances like "she never said she could see Russia from her house", heck who cares if she can see it from her house, or her beach, Palin is a right wing nut case, period. Whether she believes in them or using them to attract the rabid rightwingers for politics is not known, but this author sure believes palin is a pure heart… heck. The sooner she dissapers from public view, the better it is for america, that it is not really a kangaroo democracy
The female species in media are particularly scared of the beauty and frankness, therefore appeal, of the Palin personality. Correction: not scared but rather envious. Eat your hearts out, ladies, especially the television variety! Despite your potshots, she will be around still to win the White House in 2012!
Call it the revenge of karma!

Saddest part of this story? Barbara Walters has a radio show. Who translates for her?
I have a "Palin 2012" sticker on the back of my car. It drives the liberal neighbors nuts.
Reading these comments enriches my heart for the future of our country. Palin has been so miligned by our mass media that many conservatives have accepted some of their lies about her. While I voted for McCain, with reservations, he was still the better presidential candidate with Palin as his VP.
After reading this e-mail for the second time and reviewing the comments, I am energized in heart and spirit to the public who are recognizing the damage being bestowed on us by our mass media! My first comment then was to relate my experience in Wisconsin in early October, 1968 where I observed the first debate between Palin and Biden. After some encouraging remarks towards Palin I was besieged by a predominant democratic crowd bad mouthing her and encouraging Biden. Now I feel more confident that our populace is seeing the truth in politics and, hopefully, will correct their vote in two more years. And that vote is much more than for president; senators and congressmen pass the laws, some of which the White House follows! Wake up America before it is too late. Palin would make an excellent candidate for Vice President or President!
Funny…You can see Canada from Alaska, too. There must be something the press could do with that. Oh, wait, Canada and Mexico are both visible from the "real" US, so I guess that's off limits. As a matter of fact, you could almost see Canada from Chicago, so I guess we should add that to Obama's foreign experience.
I would vote for her tomorrow or any other day. Sadly, her image has been tarnished, even to staunch conservatives due to the irresponsible unethical unprincipled press. As has been said before, no one bothered to point out the woeful lack of experience of Obama during the election.
If she does run again she MUST attack the press head on; it would be impossible for her to get LESS respect from them, and she just might improve her image by taking a more aggressive stance.
Mr Ziegler should up and attend the MEDIA PROTEST SCHEDULED IN OCTOBER FOR ALL 50 STATES.
I would leave my cozy chair and shiver my timbers in Alaska if that's what it took to support her. And by the way, may Levi Johnson be struck with an indefinable condition – posthaste.
Me too. My husband borrowed the car the other day, and said he'd never do it again he got hassled so much all over town and at work. What is wrong with these people?
I cant wait to see all of those Republican snobs that threw Palin under the bus come running to her for help with their campaigns in 2010.
I think instead of giving money to Sarah Palin or other conservatives in 2010. I am going to send money to Janeane Garafalo and Joy Behar as encouragement to keep up their insane empty rants. Racist. Racist . Racist.
Bush. Bush. Bush. Blah. Blah. Blah. Keep it up girls your doing a great job for the Republican party. I guess when you are at a loss for words over the ineptness and embarrassment that Obama has become you will reach for anything.
John, This is the most eloquent writing I've seen from you so far. Bravo! I have not been a fan of hers, nor yours for that matter, but your article here has made me want to go search out those articles and confirm your assessment. Stay away from radio, it apparently made your brain mushy.
