Notice when folks refer to “intellectuals” and all those other smart guys, they seem to be pointing towards people in and around academia. Much is made of Obama being a “constitutional scholar” and a professor of law. Well, he was neither, but that is beside the point.

There seems be an assumption that if you have taught and studied a subject, any subject, you will necessarily be able to translate that action to some other action, ie. actually operating in the real world and getting something accomplished.

Kind of like assuming a lawyer will be a great executive.

Experience shows us that is far from a safe bet, yet we keep going down that rathole.

As an academic, I would suggest we could do with a few less intellectuals right about now.

Liberals, as Dr. Thomas Sowell once said, “…live in fact-free zones.” That’s why they tend to panic when confronted by facts and always wind up name-calling instead of offering factual refutations. What they THINK are facts are the droppings of OTHER lefties in the so-called “mainstream media,” the far-left blogosphere and in the utterings of the DNC. Repeated endlessly is the charge that President Bush is a “war criminal,” for example. If he really IS, then why hasn’t he been arrested and charged? Surely SOMEONE has actual proof of his “criminality” and can talk some far-left DA into indicting him. The fact is, he operated entirely within the law and according to the U.S. Constitution. When he achieved Congress’ blessing for the war, that amounted to a defacto declaration of war. If you’d bother to actually READ it, the Constitution does NOT specify the form that such a declaration must take. By authorizing the war by funding it, that constitutes such a declaration in fact, if not by form by passing a resolution saying, “We hereby declare war against….” Wake up and smell the coffee, libs. Your guy is an empty suit without a clue and the sooner the nation realizes it, the better off we’ll ALL be.

“Sarah Palin disqualified herself from the Presidency the minute she tried to claim with a straight face.that the physical proximity of Alaska to Russia gave her foreign policy experience.”

Governors deal with foreign policies all of the time. They help immensely in trade negotiations both hosting and going to trading partners. Palin does have to be aware of the proximity to both Canada and Russia and the issues that proximity entails, shared borders, shipping, air travel, immigration, etc.

Palin has also traveled to foreign countries to support the Alaskan National Guard troops stationed there since she is their commander-in-chief.

What I love is that had this situation been reversed – and a Republican President kept nominating tax cheaters – can you imagine the howls from the NYT, CBS, et al?

Sarah Palin IS a breath of fresh air. Good advice from DrieffromSeattle. Let’s not forget, Jimmy Carter was smart. He just didn’t know how to delegate, among other issues.

I had my problems with George W Bush but I predict within 4 years he’ll be looking pretty good! And let’s not forget the haughty John Kerry who always felt “W” was lacking in intelligence, got at least 1 “D” at Yale undergrad, while “W” got a Harvard MBA.

Libs are incapable of moving on. Hatred is what sustains them. Without Bush/Cheney/Palin/Halliburton and all the rest dating back to Lincoln, the first Republican, they have nothing to hate and live for. Without their irrational hatred, they would shrivel up and die…mustn’t do that…carbon footprint from decomposition and all.

If they all died, we would be deprived of their hilarious antics and lunatic shenanigans in the name of “tolerance”. These asshats haven’t gotten over Viet Nam yet, and are still awaiting the return of Woodstock Nation.

Just for the record, I was a Navy field surgeon attached to NAVSUPACT DaNang in 1968. When I came home I got spit on by these same liberal turds, called a baby killer, and the usual drivel from the unwashed pacifist peaceniks…who thought nothing of using physical violence when it suited them (Ayers). Pacifists my ass.
