Why Should Obama’s Poor Cabinet Choices Surprise Anyone?
by Seth SwirskyCandidate Obama chose to be friends with William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist. Yet, the leftist media thought it was more important to “vet” Bristol Palin’s boyfriend’s family.
Candidate Obama chose to allow Tony Rezko, now an indicted felon, to loan Obama $300,000 to help him buy his big home. The press and Democrat voters thought John McCain’s seven homes – bought without the hint of a graft – was a more important story.
Citizen and candidate Obama chose to remain in the church of Reverend Wright’s, whose diatribes against America are now famous. But, the media and Democrats thought it was more important to demonize President Bush who kept America safe from terror attacks for 7 ½ years.
Senator Obama voted against the Surge. In light of the Surge’s obvious success, did the media call candidate Obama’s judgement into question? No.
So, why is anyone surprised that a number of Obama’s choices for high level governmental posts are ethically-challenged, like Tom Daschle, Tim Geithner, Nancy Killefer and Bill Richardson?
Caught up in their bloodlust for President Bush, Democrats chose to deny the reality of who Mr. Obama truly was: A stunningly inexperienced Chicago-bred politician who had made poor choices, in his associations and judgements.
In politics as in life, you get what you pay for.

A ridiculous opinion. The vast majority of Obama’s selections have been excellent. McCain gaffed imediately with his selection of Palin, an ambitious yet unitellectual individual who took 7 years to complete a journalism degree at 6 colleges and universities. This selection was made by a man who allegedly knows the ways of Washington.
I was having a conversation yesterday with a young, college student friend who had campaigned for Obama. She had promised me a quick tidal wave of Hope and Change® to take place after the inauguration.
Yesterday, I told her that I have seen the “Change” with the glut of ethically, morally and legally challeneged cabinet appointees. But I am still waiting for the hope. After some brief back and forth, she admitted that she didn’t have any opposing argument.
The liberals are sure monitoring this site, aren’t they? The fear is palpable.
Gore failed Divinity School, you know.
I’ve heard Palin speak. I’ve looked at her political record. She’d eat Mr. Affirmative Action/Media Choice Obama for lunch and spit out the bones.
Amen and thank you, Charles! Well put.
My grandfather told me that “you are judged by the company you keep, so, be careful who you hang out with.”
So, given the pre-President Obamas pals, like Rezko, Blago, Wright, Ayers, etc. etc., why would we be surprised that his new appointees are guys like Emannuel, Richardson, Dasche, Geithner, and the lady from McKinsey???? Tip of the iceberg it you cask me.
The guy is off to a flying start, perhaps right into the Hudson River? Not to worry, they are good at handling this type of stuff in NYC.
Oh yes, to my understanding, Sara is complete and up to date on her taxes.
Rev. Wright, eh? Man, you guys are going to whining about him the rest of your miserable little lives. Heads up, no one freaking cared about Rev. Wright. No one.
As for Palin “keeping the election close”, considering that women and moderate voters voted for Obama in LARGER numbers than polling that summer indicated, it would seem that Palin actually COST McCain votes. I think losing formerly Republican states like Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida is a tip off there.
As for Palin’s taxes, I take it she’s produced some documentation that she reported the per diems that she received to fly her daughter’s white trash family around as taxable income?
You can also add Browner, his environment czar. When she worked for the EPA, she was sued by coworkers for racial discrimination and lost … several times. Her name appears on the suits. Not only that but there is some question about whether or not she still sits on the board of her current job. They happen to be a cap and trade company. Absolutely no conflict of interest there.
It is hard to argue with the facts. Obama has a long history of poor associations and bad judgments.
Thanks, Seth, for contributing to the collective “we told you so.”
Obama has had an extremely shaky two weeks, and it’s not going to get any easier. His first major piece of legislation is going down. He’s going to have to ask the public for more TARP money. If he ever tries to raise taxes, the Republicans will be hammer them with “Democrats want tax increases when they don’t bother to pay their own taxes.”
The man is obviously in over his head.
Not everyone completes a degree in four years nowadays. Particularly when they come from a pretty poor family. Obama got to make his rookie mistakes in small meetings in Iowa and New Hampshire in front of a reporter or two, who was usually covering for him, anyway. Palin made hers in front of millions. That’s the difference.
McCain was selected by the Democrats to be the Republican nominee. McCain is a closet Democrat who pretends to be a Republican conservative. The only reason McCain did as well as he did was because of Sarah Palin – a great record in Alaska and a conservative.
Obama is an empty suit who is all about how he looks, how he appears. He regurgitates what he has been told by those he trusts – homegrown terrorists, tax evaders, cheaters, America haters, socialists etc. He does everything by the book – How to turn America into Socialist Europe.
Bob sounds like a college professor. Educated far beyond his intelligence, but always retreats into an elitist cocoon when faced with reality. Another parasite that produces nothing, but can’t figure out why he’s broke…hates capitalism, but loves the comforts it provides him without any effort on his part, and whines like a child when life doesn’t fit his naive worldview. Indulging one’s inner child well into middle age, wishing it was still 1970. A metrosexual who’s terrified of people like Governor Palin…honest, hard working, ethical, faithful, didn’t murder her children in the womb, kills her own food and could kick his ass while nursing a child and doing her nails.
Intellectuals have no place in government.
Would you please request that the IRS give your taxes a full audit, then report to all readers of BH how it went. Thanks.
Yo, BOB.
Sarah Palin can run a state, raise a family, field dress a moose, and kick your ass with a laugh on her way to breakfast. Deal with it.
El Jeffe, Right On!! I’d pay big to see it. I’d even help raise money for the back income taxes you know have not been paid.
Hey Bob. Do your home work. The POTATOE gaff was the way that union teacher had it spelled on the blackboard.
Americans are naturally Libertarian/Conservative. They can be tricked into going left sometimes, but they always swing back eventually. Obama’s not unbeatable. The media may be covering for him, but that won’t matter in the end. Sooner or later, he’ll fail so badly that it will be apparent to everyone. We’re seeing it now: his failed nominees, his increasingly unpopular pork stimulus, his blundering foreign policy. The Republicans can fight back. You can win.
In other words: Yes, you can!;)
Ahh…the “Hate Whitey” canard. Do you know who are the only people who actually say the word “whitey” anymore? Yep, it’s conservatives who psychologically project that black people routinely say the word “whitey”.
Sarah Palin disqualified herself from the Presidency the minute she tried to claim with a straight face.that the physical proximity of Alaska to Russia gave her foreign policy experience. She demonstrated that she literally had never given much thought to a myriad of issues both foreign and domestic.
Her lack of any public speeches or published writings about foreign and domestic policy made it hard for her to plausibly argue that she had even a remote understanding of the issues of the day. Simply bleating the same unrealistically self-assured proclamations that she was “ready” won’t cut it. Too many people made that mistake with Bush when they ignored the painful reality in 2000 that he hadn’t really given much thought to the issues of the day.
As for the conservatives so-called “spine”, explain something to us. So, domestic deficit spending is always wrong, yet somehow massive deficit spending on the military is acceptable? How exactly have you fiscal conservatives been paying for our wars for the last 8 years? Would you be willing to pay higher taxes if you knew that it would help our military be fully equipped without driving our economy into the tank? What say you?
As for Iran and North Korea, unless you clowns are seriously advocating that we add two new wars on top of the ones we’re currently engaged in, then there really isn’t a whole hell of lot we as a country can do militarily about those countries.
This has been my question all along. What part of this did you not see coming, not only in his appointments, but in every decision he’s made so far. I don’t understand the sudden shock.
Hussein is a Chicago hack, and since he was born in Kenya, isn’t even able to run for President, much less destroy the office like he’s going to do.
He isn’t going to please his own liberal morons, and they will be out for him next election, never mind the conservatives who never voted for him in the first place. I just hope we can make it for the four years, the damage he can do in that time is unthinkable.
“Would you please request that the IRS give your taxes a full audit, then report to all readers of BH how it went. Thanks.”
Considering how most people here probably don’t LIE on their taxes, I should guess pretty well.
“Ahh…the “Hate Whitey” canard. ”
so you’re saying that going to a church run by a bigot who published hate filled screeds by Hamas, propogated that America deserved 9/11, and that whites invented AIDS to keep the black man down for 20 years is okey dokey? So when the Dems nominate a KKK member or a Nazi to run for President, you’d be okay with that too? Gotta keep it consistent, right?
Titov –
Sarah Palin is “white trash”?
How very hopey-changey of you.
Keep ‘em coming. You just keep proving to the rest of us why we are right in our beliefs about your ilk.
Titov-
Try to stay on point (I know it is hard, with your ADD and all). The fact is that BO has a real hard time picking up good friends. He is off to a really poor start and I expected he will trail off sharply from here.
The Emperor has no clothes. Who could be surprised, a second rate pol from a corrupt city. As I have said, he is our first Affirmative Action President. Likely our last too!
PS-Sara Pallin lost the election and is back being Governor. Get over it.
Charles…you speak nothing but the truth!!! I couldn’t have said it better myself!
I still have yet to figure out why the leftists are so focused on Sarah Palin and continue to compare her to Obama when her counterpart would be Biden. I suppose I could search my psych-101 books for some sort of answer, but it’s becoming so very obvious that I won’t even bother.
The subject has become so amazingly tedius and pedestrian.
I am not surprised at all. If you even did a few moments of research you would know that Obama selects people based on ideology, not ethics.
Remember, in the Obama administration ethics means never having to pay your taxes, unless you are selected for a Cabinet position.
“As for Palin’s taxes, I take it she’s produced some documentation that she reported the per diems that she received to fly her daughter’s white trash family around as taxable income?”
That is all you need to know about Titov. You can just smell the tolerance and open-mindedness can’t you? If Gietner’s multi-year tax evasion is no big deal for a TREASURY SECRETARY, then I would think a fudged per Diem from a Governor of a “nowhere” state wouldn’t even rate on the controversy scale.
I must be suffering from a liberal moment here, but I don’t see any connection with my comments and taxes. I pay taxes and always have. I’ve been audited due to my ‘extraordinary’ donations to charity and passed with flying colors each time…keeping clear, accurate and honest records helps.
Unlike liberals I have nothing to hide, give to charity, pay my taxes, don’t lie, cheat or steal, and generally behave in a socially and fiscally responsible manner. So I have no fear of wiretaps, audits or any other form of scrutiny. Honesty is its own best reward.
Speaking of charity…we give donations in the six figures annually to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, and do quite a bit of volunteer work there with our Rottweilers (the children love the dogs, and the dogs love the children). I urge everyone here to drop the partisan BS, get out your checkbook and donate to a truly worthy cause. If you can.
I talked to a number of people this week who said they will forego paying their taxes this year. Between Timothy Geitner’s tax lapse, Obama’s $825 billion package of pork, California suspending its refunds, Charlie Rangel’s lapses (not to mention Daschle and Killefer), they contend that the present government doesn’t deserve their hard-earned funds nor does it deserve the funding of future generations. “If the Democrats want to bankrupt America I want to do everything I can to help,” said one. Another compared it to a drug addiction and couldn’t justify enabling the government any longer.
A major tax revolt is just beginning.
When I see Obama or hear him speak he reminds me of someone who is arrogant, not a great speaker (unless he has a telepromter speaking for him), a bit of a snob, and has that “slick willie” type attitude Clinton had. What I see from Palin is a smart, friendly, outgoing, self-assured woman who I think is probably the best friend any woman could ask for. I also find it facinating that the libs continue to bring her up all the time….they may ridicule her, but they are definatley threatened by her!
seth-
keep whining about the election you lost.
no one cares except your shrinking irrelevant base of backward idiots.
ayers is a college professor.
don’t you people still get little stiffies for g gordon liddy?
don’t you still defend your war criminal king george?
maybe come up with new ideas. hmmm?
“keep whining about the election you lost.”…just like the libtards are still crying about “stolen elections” in 2000 & 2004
“no one cares except your shrinking irrelevant base of backward idiots.” When you are incapable of intelligent debate, revert to childhood and call your opponents names: Poopy-Head!
“ayers is a college professor.” So are a few hundred thousand over-educated, under-informed, shallow, narrow minded, hate filled, un-productive folks…is there a point in our future here?
“don’t you people still get little stiffies for g gordon liddy?”…nope. the gay lobby is on the left, with a few interesting exceptions that got run out of DC on a rail when they were ‘outed’.
“don’t you still defend your war criminal king george?” Nope. Nothing to defend. He did an admirable job while the lunatic left hurled asinine invective at every turn. Been attacked by islamist lately?
“maybe come up with new ideas. hmmm?”…like The New Deal II, The Great Society II, The War on Poverty II, Bill & Hillary’s third term, Carter’s second term and other “new ideas” we’re getting from President hopeandchange?
Take your meds matey. We don’t want you hurting yourself.
Hey revhatchell, I hear them calling your name over at churchofobama.gov. Why not troll over there for a while?
My favorite line from Maureen Dowd’s article in the NYT this morning:
It took Daschle’s resignation to shake the president out of his arrogant attitude that his charmed circle doesn’t have to abide by the lofty standards he lectured the rest of us about for two years.
Jack Bauer- thanks; your response is brilliant, factual & concise. One I am sure I will repeat.
Have you hugged a liberal today? I think they need more hopeychangey now that the messiah is showing what a pathetic excuse of a leader he truly is.
Pelosi: “500 Million Americans are layed off every month.” Brilliant. She’s a great mathmetician on top of her other credentials.
Obama’s picks are all educated, smart people who care about minorities. Unlike you racist haters. All you want is WAR and to give tax breaks to rich wall street men!!!George Bush sucks!!!
“Obama’s picks are all educated, smart people who care about minorities. Unlike you racist haters. All you want is WAR and to give tax breaks to rich wall street men!!!George Bush sucks!!!”
Neener,Neener, Neener you big meanies! My daddy can beat up your daddy!
“Pelosi: “500 Million Americans are layed off every month.” Brilliant. She’s a great mathmetician on top of her other credentials.”
So President Obama promises to create 4 million new jobs. By my calculations, and factoring in Pelosi’s brilliant observation, I conclude:
a) Americans lose 16.5 Million Jobs per day
b) President Obama will create 0.0667% of the jobs lost
c) President Obama’s Stimulus Plan will leave 5,500,000,000 Americans out of work.
d) There will no longer be any Americans, living or dead, to pay the needed taxes for the next 6,238 years.
Love the libs! They provide endless amusement at an insane price!
So, it was spending cuts that balanced Alaska’s budget? Are you sure that it wasn’t this three part tax plan?
- An increase in the basic tax rate on oil company profits from 22.5 percent to 25 percent.
- A windfall profits provision. When oil prices went over $50 per barrel or so, the tax rate would rise 0.2 percent for each dollar.
- A tax floor. If oil prices fell below about $40 per barrel, oil companies would still have to pay 10% of the gross price of the crude they produce.
And what “spending” cuts did she actually make?
So we’re counting years it takes to get degrees? Palin has a 70-percent approval rating in a state that’s a logistical nightmare to run. Her dealings on energy issues along far surpass any intellectual or legislative accomplishments of Barack Obama, whose resume includes the words “community organizer” as some kind of office of respect.
Not to say Obama isn’t a smart guy. I happen to think he is. But if you’re going to call Palin into question everytime someone brings up Obama’s shortcomings, then best to let sleeping dogs lie.
Admit it or not, Obama was dealt a delicate hand in the media. He wasn’t challenged or vetted and we’re now seeing the results of that. It’s obvious the Democrats thought the uplifting winds of “change” we’re going to carry them to legislative victories, massive approval ratings and a blank check to rewrite government and society. It doesn’t work that way. I hate to say it, but a battle-tested Hillary Clinton would have been much more smoother in her opening moments then the soft Messiah.
Damn The Ethics! Fool Speed Ahead!
B. Hussein Obama
President of the United Socialist States of America
formerly known as “The Land of the Free”
The posts here make an interesting comparison.
Conservative posters lay on examples, facts and data by the pound.
Liberals give the finger,(you lost, get over it) name-call incessantly, (idiots, clowns, etc.) ignore anything good done in the last 8 years, (heard about those FREE elections in Iraq? Anyone?) and have a fit when called out about any of the above (I can dish it out, but I can’t take it).
The reality they cannot accept, and chose to ignore or gloss over, is that a junior senator, with less working credentials than the GOP VP pick, is over his head and starting to show cracks in his ‘Messiah’ image.
I remember a CNN actor (I refuse to call them newsmen) made a statement on air stating that when ‘The One’ spoke, he got tingles up his leg.
I think what he really felt was his bladder letting go. Much like many will feel when the ‘Chosen One’ starts to implode in office.
Its going to be a VERY interesting four years.
Lyle,
I didn’t know that Dumb A## was a race?
In response to Titov above, I actually switched from supporting Obama to voting for McCain because of the Palin pick. I already had my doubts about Obama forming by then. She was just too fabulous not to vote for that made me willing to vote for McCain. Other Democrats, many of them women, felt the same way from what I’v read on blogs (not the MSM).
Definitely, the company he keeps should have said it all, and by the way, Wright’s rantings and the whole Black Liberation Theology thing were valid for discussion and should have been looked at more carefully, just as Ayers should have been. It’s outrageous the way Ayers has been rehabilitated so rapidly when he plotted against our government. People have no shame.
I Love The Smell Of Patchouli In The Morning. It Smells Like Defeat.
BO’s first decision: picking Joe Biden. Perhaps this was a good choice: every American with even a hint of a belief in God is praying nothing happens to BO. That’s a lot of prayer!
Did he not pick Nancy Everyday-500-million-Americans-lose-their-jobs Pelosi to write his stimulation bill?
Did he not Blogo’s favorite Illinois thug to be his chief of staff?
Did he not pick a true tax evader to be the boss of the IRS?
Did he not pick America’s number one Limousine Liberal — the guy with the round red specs — to be in charge of our health?
If Bush had mede these appointments, people would have called him stupid.
Oh yeah, they did!
El Jefe – you’re my hero!!
“A ridiculous opinion. The vast majority of Obama’s selections have been excellent. It’s hard to know where to begin, here. But first: are you being lulled by a few appointees that you approve? Have you paid attention to the less visible ones, like Carol Browner, et al? That’s where the heavy lifting in the wrong direction will be done.
Whether you approve of Palin or not, it often takes some people longer to complete their educations when they need to go where the scholarship money is, as was the case with Palin. I would say that, if anything, the time and inconvenience, borne of need, is a tribute to her tenacity. Most of us would have given up, not pressed on.
This, of course, was not the case with Obama, who had mystery benefactors funding his time at Harvard and probably elsewhere. Did he not attend three different schools? Not, of course, that we actuallly know anything about his time in those schools. Mostly a mystery, still.
The Impending Obama Meltdown [Victor Davis Hanson]
Some of us have been warning that it was not healthy for the U.S. media to have deified rather than questioned Obama, especially given that they tore apart Bush, ridiculed Palin, and caricatured Hillary. And now we can see the results of their two years of advocacy rather than scrutiny.
We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.
First, there were the sermons on ethics, belied by the appointments of tax dodgers, crass lobbyists, and wheeler-dealers like Richardson—with the relish of the Blago tapes still to come. (And why does Richardson/Daschle go, but not Geithner?).
Second, was the “stimulus” (the euphemism for “borrow/print money”) that was simply a way to go into debt for a generation to shower Democratic constituencies with cash.
Then third, there were the inflated lectures on historic foreign policy to be made by the clumsy political novice who trashed his own country and his predecessor in the most ungracious manner overseas to a censored Saudi-run press organ (e.g., Bush is dictatorial, the Saudi king is courageous; Obama can mend bridges that America broke to aggrieved Muslims—apparently Tehran hostages, Rushdie, serial attacks in the 1990s, 9/11, Madrid, London never apparently occurred; and neither did feeding Somalis, saving Kuwait, protesting Chechnya, Bosnia/Kosovo, billions to Egypt, Jordan, the Palestinians, help in two Afghan wars, and on and on).
Fourth, there was the campaign rhetoric of Bush shredding the Constitution—FISA, Guantánamo, the Patriot Act, Iraq, renditions, etc.—followed by “all that for now stays the same” inasmuch as we haven’t ben hit in over seven years and can’t risk another attack.
Fifth, Gibbs as press secretary is a Scott McClellan nightmare that won’t go away, given his long McClellan-like relationship with Obama (McClellan should have been fired on day hour one on the job). Blaming Fox News for Obama’s calamities is McClellan to the core and doesn’t work. He already reminds me of Reverend Wright’s undoing at the National Press Club—and he will get worse.
Six, Biden is being Biden. Already, he’s ridiculed the chief justice, trashed the former VP, bragged on himself ad nauseam in Bidenesque weird ways, and it’s only been two weeks.
And the result of all this?
At home, Obama is becoming laughable and laying the groundwork for the greatest conservative populist reaction since the Reagan Revolution.
Abroad, some really creepy people are lining up to test Obama’s world view of “Bush did it/but I am the world”: The North Koreans are readying their missiles; the Iranians are calling us passive, bragging on nukes and satellites; Russia is declaring missile defense is over and the Euros in real need of iffy Russian gas; Pakistanis say no more drone attacks (and then our friends the Indians say “shut up” about Kashmir and the Euros order no more “buy American”).
This is quite serious. I can’t recall a similarly disastrous start in a half-century (far worse than Bill Clinton’s initial slips). Obama immediately must lower the hope-and-change rhetoric, ignore Reid/Pelosi, drop the therapy, and accept the tragic view that the world abroad is not misunderstood but quite dangerous. And he must listen on foreign policy to his National Security Advisor, Billary, and the Secretary of Defense. If he doesn’t quit the messianic style and perpetual campaign mode, and begin humbly governing, then he will devolve into Carterism—angry that the once-fawning press betrayed him while we the people, due to our American malaise, are to blame.

There are two kinds of people who go after the office of President: The ones who see a job that needs to be done, and the ones who want to be “The President”. GW was the former – and now we have the latter – and boy does it show.
You are the whiners… you cry about the media bias. There isn’t any. Everybody but you hate filled warmongers can see what Obama wants to do. The rest of the world hates us becouse of YOU!!!
Think. The democrat politicians in Washington dont pay any more taxes than most of the voters who put them there. Isn’t there a mixup here somewhere ?
Yup! Hard to beat those Bush choices for Treasury Sect over the years. That last one was a pip. Then there’s “long, hard slog” Rumsfeld, really showed us how to win wars on the cheap didn’t he? No oversight appointments on war profiteers either, – hey, the private sector needs no oversight as that leftie Greenspan can tell you. And, of course, the Justice dept is supposed to be an extension of the repo party. It’s in Robert’s backdated copy of the Constitution somewhere.
Your kids enjoying those FDA approved p/b sammachiz and snackz are they?
Bush kept us safe all right, as long as you don’t have to depend on food. But, true, we haven’t had another boxcutter attack in 7.5 years, I’ll grant you that. Heckofajob, Bushie.
Lyle, who of us whined for the last 8 years. Talk about WHINERS
AND Weiners.. So, we should stand united behind O? Sort of like you united behind GWB??? I will treat and stand behind O like you did with GWB.. NADA
LYLE: I’ve found in my travels that “the rest of the world hates us” is inaccurate. The people seem to like Americans and things American. They hate Bush as does our own left wing. Fortunately, we are not yet run by the left wing, although it’s beginning to look like we might. I have faith that millions who voted for BO because they hoped he would bring change will realize that just changing from Bush probably isn’t the answer. At the level of President, some experience beyond community organizing and running for office is probably a good thing.
Lyle says: “The rest of the world hates us becouse of YOU!!!
“If a politician is beyond criticism, he is apt to feel and act like a god”. That politician sounds alot like Obama!!!
LOLA- Love ya but that was sarcasm…smells like defeat? get it?
Real men bathe. Democrats put on patchouli. Nothing like the smell of BO and Patchouli. (I meant Body Odor, not Barack Obama…if thre’s a difference).
Palin 2012! She will shred the empty suit called Obama…
“I see a man who is trying to make decisions based on the dogma of his party instead of considering what is best for his country.’
Obama is naively accustomed to being ‘onstage’ and sadly, firmly believes his rhetoric, insults, jabs and smugness are warranted and just.
What a dangerous twit..” This quote is great, got it from http://www.michellemalkin.com
Obama & Palin are 2 sides of the same coin. Both are a national disgrace and an example of what we’ve become, and how much further down we’re headed.
Have you looked at Obama’s church’s website? I mean REALLY looked at it?

Obama himself is ridiculous. His associations are ridiculous. The only GOOD cabinet picks happen to be Republicans. The others are political paybacks, political hacks, and tax cheats.
ALL HAIL THE TAX-CHEAT-IN-CHIEF!!!
B.O. is solving the budget crisis by getting all his Cabinet appointments to pay their back taxes. What a plan!! What a great group of ethical leaders!!
Bob the “super genius” writes:
“…an ambitious yet unitellectual individual who took 7 years to complete a journalism degree at 6 colleges and universities.”
Bob, here’s a little tip, from me to you. When impugning someone’s intellect, it’s generally a good idea to not misspell words like “unintellectual”.
Unless you were claiming that Palin is in fact “unitellectual”? What exactly does that word mean, Bob?
“Seriously. Can you imagine Sarah Palin’s Tweaker Meth family and friends in Washington?”
Sure, why not? We have an admitted coke head in the White House, still huffing those Kool cigarettes. And what a circle of friends the Coke Head in Chief has! Stellar characters all. What are a few tax felons, liars, thieves and reprobates surrounding the most powerful office on the planet? No big deal. Better to have this bunch than a hugely successful governor that started at the bottom, worked her way to high state office without the taint of corruption…other than the swill the idjit media and colossal towers of intellect like Bob Frapples dredge up from the deep dark recesses of their diminished capacity as sentient beings. I’ve heard better arguments from my cats…and they truly enjoy licking their butts as a hobby. Can you do that Mr. Frapple? Lick your own butt that is.
Yo! Growltiger,
Several of those events you cited-
1993 – First World Trade Center bombing (Clinton president)
1995 – Khobar Towers (ibid)
1998 – African Embassies (ibid)
2000 – Cole bombing
were a direct result of our having offended Sunni Muslim elements by the stationing of US troops in Saudi Arabia, the holiest of holy sites to the Muslim faith during Gulf War 1, in 1991. You do remember Bin Laden,& the Taliban and how and why they got their start, right? No need to remind you of who was prez then. But, of course, that war was a total success story and winners can never be responsible for what happens after as a result of their winning ways. It’s all stop watch science with you wingers.
Incidently, do you remember how Bush I was able to overcome Saudi objectives to getting the troops in there in the first place? By a nifty little lie about how Saddam had 250,000 troops and 2500 tanks poised to invade SA. If you wrack your brain you might remember that charge because we were told that too. Cheney, as Sect Defense, was in charge of the “photographic intel proof” of said proof, but, alas, never produced it – too classified. Years later, former Soviet Union released satellite photo intel taken of that same SA/Iraq border at that time showed absolutely nada there except sand and more sand. No quater million troops, no tanks, and no supply lines that would have been necessary to maintain that large a force. No wonder we were able to vanquish Saddam’s armies so quickly – there weren’t ever as many of them as we were told there was and certainly not even where they were supposed to be. Hummmm. But we won and who cares how, right? (Say, maybe Roger Clemmons and Barry Bonds should use that.)
How similar all that was to the infamous Yellow Cake from Niger hoax – and from the same Cheney guy too!
But the “Surge is working” and that’s that, and so what, again, right?
As long as we’re “winning” or appear to be “winning” militarily, that’s all that counts. Never look to root causes and aftereffects. Your heads would explode from overload.
You know, maybe you guys are on to something, we shouldn’t spend money if we don’t have it. That would include the Iraq War, wouldn’t it? I mean, we paid for that entire war with loans from China, no? Either end our wars immediately, or actually raise some taxes to actually pay for them. That way, our children won’t be saddled with the few trillion dollars of debt.
Oh, that’s right, when we deficit spend for the military, that’s somehow..umm..good, right?
By the way, if Palin was such an amazing fiscal conservative, then why is Alaska currently staring at a $1 billion budget deficit?
For the record, the Iraqi government just sold and shipped 500 tons (yes tons) of yellowcake to a Candadian firm for reprocessing into useful fuel.
Those 500 tons were garned by SH and discovered by Iraqi troops after the fall of SH.
In his statements, SH admitted that he had intended to make the Iranians and the rest of world think he had or was building nuclear weapons. He felt he could always use the leverage and could back down if confronted.
I guess he was wrong and it cost him his life.
These are all facts that you can check on the AP site if you want.
MAYA. Too late for you. Your head has already exploded and your lone brain cell is free! Free at last!! A mind is a terrible thing to waste. We are all very thankful that you have nothing to waste.
I had a dog named Maya once. She was much smarter than you. Probably less angry and prettier too. Unfortunately she was unable to vote. ACORN wasn’t around back then.
Only liberals are as angry in victory as they are in defeat. Truly a sign of a mental disorder. Now put your crash helmet and drool bucket back on and step away from the keyboard. You might hurt yourself and we would be deprived of your amusing posts.
I take it that you’ve enlisted in one of our armed forces in order to fight our 7th Century enemies?
Clinton’s third term …
Marvelous false choice strawman there, dude. So, if one opposes the war in Iraq as an unnecessary diversion from the REAL enemies in Afghanistan, that means one has “taken the side of the Islamist fanatics”? Hell, Iraq wasn’t even an Islamist state before we went barging in under this nonsense that somehow they were partially responsible for Al Queda.
Bob: Sarah Palin graduated from college in 5 years, not 7. She graduated from high school in 1982, first enrolled in college in the fall of 1982, and graduated from the U. of Idaho upon completing the spring 1987 semester.
Maya….so it’s OUR fault they attacked us, according to you! We’ll all help you pack your bags for Tehran, just let us know when you’ll be leaving!
Libs are incapable of moving on. Hatred is what sustains them. Without Bush/Cheney/Palin/Halliburton and all the rest dating back to Lincoln, the first Republican, they have nothing to hate and live for. Without their irrational hatred, they would shrivel up and die…mustn’t do that…carbon footprint from decomposition and all.
If they all died, we would be deprived of their hilarious antics and lunatic shenanigans in the name of “tolerance”. These asshats haven’t gotten over Viet Nam yet, and are still awaiting the return of Woodstock Nation.
Just for the record, I was a Navy field surgeon attached to NAVSUPACT DaNang in 1968. When I came home I got spit on by these same liberal turds, called a baby killer, and the usual drivel from the unwashed pacifist peaceniks…who thought nothing of using physical violence when it suited them (Ayers). Pacifists my ass.
What I love is that had this situation been reversed – and a Republican President kept nominating tax cheaters – can you imagine the howls from the NYT, CBS, et al?
Sarah Palin IS a breath of fresh air. Good advice from DrieffromSeattle. Let’s not forget, Jimmy Carter was smart. He just didn’t know how to delegate, among other issues.
I had my problems with George W Bush but I predict within 4 years he’ll be looking pretty good! And let’s not forget the haughty John Kerry who always felt “W” was lacking in intelligence, got at least 1 “D” at Yale undergrad, while “W” got a Harvard MBA.
“Sarah Palin disqualified herself from the Presidency the minute she tried to claim with a straight face.that the physical proximity of Alaska to Russia gave her foreign policy experience.”
Governors deal with foreign policies all of the time. They help immensely in trade negotiations both hosting and going to trading partners. Palin does have to be aware of the proximity to both Canada and Russia and the issues that proximity entails, shared borders, shipping, air travel, immigration, etc.
Palin has also traveled to foreign countries to support the Alaskan National Guard troops stationed there since she is their commander-in-chief.
Seth – another hit on the msm and bhobama that can not be debated by the intellectual honest of the radicals
But, then again, you dont see to many of the intellectually honest liberals these days. Real some of the liberal posters and see the proof of their lack of interest in the American way.
You know a liberal is in trouble as soon as he starts calling you names, like a sexist, racists, classist, war monger and the like. Means he is out of facts and logic and his EMOTIONS are driving him.
Seems that happens almost every time out.
I guess its supposed to hurt our feelings even though we are told we have none.
Its a paradox, no?
Liberals, as Dr. Thomas Sowell once said, “…live in fact-free zones.” That’s why they tend to panic when confronted by facts and always wind up name-calling instead of offering factual refutations. What they THINK are facts are the droppings of OTHER lefties in the so-called “mainstream media,” the far-left blogosphere and in the utterings of the DNC. Repeated endlessly is the charge that President Bush is a “war criminal,” for example. If he really IS, then why hasn’t he been arrested and charged? Surely SOMEONE has actual proof of his “criminality” and can talk some far-left DA into indicting him. The fact is, he operated entirely within the law and according to the U.S. Constitution. When he achieved Congress’ blessing for the war, that amounted to a defacto declaration of war. If you’d bother to actually READ it, the Constitution does NOT specify the form that such a declaration must take. By authorizing the war by funding it, that constitutes such a declaration in fact, if not by form by passing a resolution saying, “We hereby declare war against….” Wake up and smell the coffee, libs. Your guy is an empty suit without a clue and the sooner the nation realizes it, the better off we’ll ALL be.
Notice when folks refer to “intellectuals” and all those other smart guys, they seem to be pointing towards people in and around academia. Much is made of Obama being a “constitutional scholar” and a professor of law. Well, he was neither, but that is beside the point.
There seems be an assumption that if you have taught and studied a subject, any subject, you will necessarily be able to translate that action to some other action, ie. actually operating in the real world and getting something accomplished.
Kind of like assuming a lawyer will be a great executive.
Experience shows us that is far from a safe bet, yet we keep going down that rathole.
As an academic, I would suggest we could do with a few less intellectuals right about now.
I’m sorry, but when I read some lefties post about ” root causes” I have to laugh.
Maya doesn’t know the difference between a root cause and a root canal.
