Voight Plays Evil While Garofalo Plays Smart, As ‘24′ Blazes Fictional Trail
by JudeNah, I’m just kidding. She’s a smart woman. We just like to make fun because she’s so condescending and hateful about us when she gets going. Whatever. We don’t want to get Tom in any more trouble
So let’s make fun of the thing we really like to: 24! Drinking game remains Kiefer Sutherland head-fake before line delivery.

With each new episode, I lose another reason why I should continue watching this show.
hmmm. i'm not able to post up in the live comments for some reason.
Hewllo everyone! Well I'm lkate because – well – I stuffed myself at dinner and didn'[t want to leave the couch
gararelo, is THE reason I do not watch 24. Also that global warming crap they shove down our throats. Piss off 24!!!!!
why do you say barfawfulo is smart…."stupid is as stupid does!"
Barfalo is on 24? Another reason not to watch..
i'm bummed about this episode. i really didn't like the "muslim people good and Godly, American people bad" turn that the story took. glad that jonas died, and i'm thinking Olivia is next on the list. Especially if she meets that guy in the park by herself.
One of the few times I fell asleep during an episode of "24". I taped it (taped!), watched it and it wasn't much.
3 episodes left.
What a disappointing season.
Used to love it, now I hate it. We've been "Hollywooded" once again.
No, Aaron would never do such a thing and the previews for next week bear that out. Pres-daughter is an idiot. She lets Aaron know she wants Hodges dead and then Hodges dies. Aaron is on to her…..as f it matters.
Near useless epidode.
Say what you want, but of all the new 'characters' introduced on "24" this season, Garafalo is the only one to make any kind of impression – except for Renee Walker in her blue v-neck sweater. All the other new characters, living, dead or MIA all stink/stank/stunk.
RE: Series. As an Australian, I find “24” to be anti-American. Season 4 was great but then they lost the plot. A white Republican killing a black liberal Democrat? Please. It is a bit sad that people think it is conservative.
I turn in each week to see if they are going to knock her off in the show! Does anyone else find it odd, that whenever these left Hollywoodies speak of Republicans, they use the most crude, rude and non-thinking statements?
What a long way to go just to tell us that not all Muslims are terrorists. A simple PSA would have sufficed.
"I'm Keifer Sutherland and I play Jack Bauer. Jack will go to any length to protect his country – including maiming Brown People. Remember, this is fiction. What's real is hate. Don't hate."
[The More You Know shooting star goes by]
I don't watch 24 anymore. No real reason, I just don't watch any regular shows anymore. I caught the last minute or two last night waiting for 10 Oclock news to come on. Coupled with the comments above; Is Tony really back on the show? Didn't he die on a gurney in CTU? Is this a Bobby Ewing moment (I apologize to the younger folk who won't understand that one)
I don't know if this has already been mentioned because this thread is a little out of control.
However, the line, "Muslims are not a race" from Jack Bauer to Ms. FBI//ACLU//ANGRY-FEMALE's cries of, "That's racial profiling!!!" would have really made my night had it been slipped in there somewhere.
When Jack cozied up to her and empathized with her concerns, I distinctly heard his b*lls fall from his body down his pant-leg and hit the floor and I shed a tear for the Jack Bauer I knew no longer existed.
If I see his cast member's "green" commercial spot, I will never be able watch 'Lost Boys' or 'Dark City' again, which sucks.
This season gets more and more disappointing as it progresses. Renee is the only worthwhile character adding a little yin to Jack's yang, ok I liked Voight but knew he was going to die. I simply get frustrated with all the other characters.
I believe the writers and producers are going to see that completely shooting the series prior to airing is a bad idea. Other seasons, those guys seemed to get the pulse of the viewers and it allowed for more action and more shocking twists. This is season is a slap in the face to all the loyal viewers and I hope they rectify this before next season. I'll deal with the PSA's, but the way they are handling the storyline is unacceptable.
Oh, yeah. I wanted to scream at the TV when Jack agreed with her that it was racial profiling. Unbelievable that so many liberals think 24 is a conservative show.
I rarely watch TV anymore and was down to three programs: 24, Lost, and The Office. Now I'm down to two.
I'll grudgingly watch the last few episodes of 24 since I've watched all the previous shows this year, but I have no enthusiasm for it anymore. It’s like reading ¾ of a bad novel, hoping it will get better and then feeling like you have to read the rest since you’ve invested all that time.
I had thought that after seeing what I’ve seen this season with the global warming silliness, Garofalo, good and forgiving Muslim vs evil plotting Americans and military etc.. that 24 doesn’t understand who is in its audience.
I was wrong.
I think they clearly understand and have decided to use this season as an opportunity to proselytize and “educate” the conservative viewers of the show. I think they’re in for a big surprise because all the friends I have that loved the show in the past tell me the same thing- they have no intention on watching it next year. For all intent and purposes, Jack (regardless on whether he gets his antidote) and 24 died this season.
Janeane Garafalo is much less of a man than Jon Voight and I can't respect her.
Good point, I'm not sure if the character she plays on MSNBC or the character on "24" is more of a reach for her. Don't know what the writers had in mind in either case, but I'm guessing she ain't got it, and ultimatly will get no respect from the "24" audience. Hmm.. maybe she is good with the MSNBC/CNN audience; shes more of a man than Keith (Animal Barn) Ob or the teabagger at CNN. Also, in the non-performing sense, I don't think she has anyone who respects her, including herself.
She's good with other folks suffering from Angerzheimer's; they're the long line standing on the left.
Never saw this many post-show comments before.
Sadly, everyone is pissed off.
Said poster Traeblain : "I believe the writers and producers are going to see that completely shooting the series prior to airing is a bad idea." I hope so.
I think that's kind of what happened with what I heard was their original decision to set much of the show in Africa this season. Thank God that aborted. That "REDEMPTION" 2 hour preview was awful, but they got some mileage out of it.
Also – related to the above – I don't recall so many characters from early in the season vanishing as quickly as this season…..and story lines abandoned. White House siege – over in 2 hours or 1 hour? Loss – Bill Buchanan, but it ended that silliness.
Conclusion – near total waste of "24" resources in characters, locations, headquarters, relationships, Chloe quips, etc.
This frigging dogma of killing off characters (or making them evil….or seemingly so) has lost its novelty and needs to cease.
Idea – They need to do a 'retro-season' using all the characters from a previous filmed season and depicting another day/crisis from that time period. In this manner, you could revive dead or missing characters from a specific 'day' and give them a new adventure.
Sure would be nice to see a lot of the people from Season 5 return for a tale that happens on a different day. Edgar alive, Logan still undiscovered, Michelle alive, etc.
