by JudeAs the forces of evil gather around the world in cabals of socialism, collectivism, and despotism, all thrilling at the enthrallment of our own President, we few gather here to watch a show that, tame as it may be, feels like the last place in America where some basic common sense is allowed to save lives. Obama may want to give cover for the next attack by discrediting the methods the Bush administration used to keep us safe, but in between lame “green” ads about global whatever-they-call-it-now, Jack Bauer just keeps laying down the law. And being absolutely ridiculous the whole time.

I so enjoyed Garafalo get put in her place on tonights episode, just wish it would happen in real life!
Jack's attitude thing was way over the top, downright stupid when he wouldn't let his daughter help him out. She gave in too easily, for someone so concerned and enamored by him. I know that was a week or two ago, but the Garafalo chick turns me off so much – in real life – that I find myself forgetting to watch it anymore.

Even the pleasure of watching Janean Garofalo get verbally b-itch slapped by Jack Baur can’t save this show for me. I’m done with it.
As I mentioned in a previous post weeks ago, since season four, I’ve been reduced to the back-alley crackhead looking for one more fix. I knew deep down it was doing me no good, but repetition in itself can be addictive and so I watched each season regress. It’s evil capitalist bankers behind it all. It’s the President of the U.S. himself pulling the strings. No, it’s Jack’s own father. And now, yes, a cabal of evil capitalist Halliburton-like corporations — again. Yawn.
This season jumped the shark (or should I say, ‘stormed the White House’) on itself more than a couple times. Deranged Jonas Hodges is one thing, but trying to convince American viewers that ordinary fellow Americans working for a private military contractor – Hodge’s employee scientists, engineers, soldiers, all with families I presume — could be actively complicit the terrorist deaths of their fellow citizens, is quite another. Yeah, there’s homegrown Tim Mcveigh’s (and Bill Ayers’ I should add) but hundreds, maybe thousands of them working together on the production of a domestic terror attack. Oh, F’n please. It’s an insult.
More insulting is this stale Hollywood cliché of Western capitalist interests as the puppet masters of global terror. In the name of the poison word, ‘tolerance,’ the TV-film industry continues to be obsessed with this deflection. Meanwhile, the victims of New York, London, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Tanzania & Kenya, Bali, Mumbai, Chechnya, Beslam, Amman — and on and on and on from every corner of the earth – all have something in common that doesn’t involve a cabal of white, western, corporate, Armani suit-wearing warlords who discuss their evil conspiracies on freakin’ MSM Messenger like a bunch of fanboys lipping over World of Warcraft.

I take it the writers thought "24" was about how many tired cliches they could get into each hour of the show; I survived 40 minutes into the show, last time I'll be watching as well.
If the writers really wanted to create an honest piece of work they would come out of the closet and tell the truth, Kingdom Hollywood the center of all evil producers in Western civilization. It's a hideous drug cartel, Hollywood entertainment, the opiate of the unwashed masses; worse than heroin and crack-cocaine combined.
I'm still waiting for a terrorist to fly a plane into Garofalo's face. That's all I want.
God, what happened to this show? I used to love it. Now, it just breaks my heart remembering what it once was.
And the natural, obvious thing to do would to have had Morris AND Chloe go over there to get the system up and running.

I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU'VE MANAGED TO SCREW UP A PERFECTLY GOOD, PERFECTLY SIMPLE TV ACTION SHOW, BUT SOMEONE HAS A REAL TALENT FOR STUPIDITY ON THIS PROJECT AND THIS IS THEIR FINEST HOUR!
I'M GONE, SO I HOPE THAT LITTLE GARFALO CREEP KILLS JACK., GETS PROMOTED TO THE HEAD OF THE FBI, AND HIRES ALL TRANSVESTITES TO PROTECT THE COUNTRY….YA KNOW, JUST LIKE IS HAPPENING NOW WITH THE REAL FBI!
Have to agree with what many have said. I'd say this episode has now officially killed the series, at least for me and I'd guess a large portion of the audience. Tony, one of the most loved characters aside from Jack, is now a psychopathically evil killer. It was bad enough that he was a dead guy turned alive guy turned bad guy turned good guy turned bad guy. But now he's become a remorseless murdering scumbag. Brilliant move.
With the addition of Garfalo, the global warming spots and the gay scene last night, they clearly don't understand who their audience is. Oh, and let's not forget how the evil Americans are going to set up an innocent Muslim to take the fall for a future attack. It's clear they have gone to great lengths this year to make it clear to their viewers where they stand politically.
So be it.
I had planned to try to finish out the season and be done with it, but last night may be the last one I'll ever watch. The only things that might make me watch is out of morbid curiosity to see how much more they can butcher a once fantastic program.

2 gay guys in bed spook you off the show? There was no tact approval of the gay life style, You should be happy if you don't like gays that at least one of them is a lowlife journalist who associates with a low-life presidential daughter.
Muslims getting a free ride as good people? Counting the two brothers last night, that brings the series total of 'good Muslims' up to about 6, including season 6's Nadia and the two brothers who owned the gun shop in S6 (unless these are the same to brothers as Monday night which brings the total back down to 4 'good Muslims'.
This season is a disaster – a near total disaster – but not b/c of some gays on screen for 3 seconds, 2 'good Muslims' and a scrawny hag with coca-cola specs.
Kick back – it's almost over.

The measures taken by the authorities in Hong Kong underscore the concern here about the new flu and the confirmed case, Asia's first. Hong Kong was badly hit by the SARS virus in 2003 and has had many episodes of H5N1 bird flu for more than a decade.
Officials said no one would be allowed to leave the hotel in the Wanchai district, an area popular with tourists.
"They said everybody needed to go back to their rooms. I don't want to go to my room because I want to be out," an Australian man in the hotel told local television by telephone.
"They told me I will stay here. I won't be allowed out and this is it."
