Hollywood Diplomacy All Around
by John T. SimpsonIf you think this is another hit piece on Team Oscar’s abortive soiree to Islamist Iran, I only wish it were just that bad. It’s actually worse. Much worse. It seems the rest of the civilized world, particularly America under the Obamamessiah, are adopting exactly the same failed principles of diplomacy as Team Oscar in Iran.
In short, the world in general, and the Obama Administration in particular, are overlooking every horrific crime known to man, in order to establish ‘peaceful’ relations with fascist totalitarian regimes that not only actively seek our violent demise, but swear it loudly and publicly to the rafters every day.
I would call it Neville Chamberlain diplomacy, but that would be too generous. Even Sir Neville had seen enough of Hitler and Nazi Germany, after Hitler abrogated the Munich Agreement by invading the rest of Czechoslovakia, to know that the policy of appeasement with Hitler had been an abject failure. It seems today that the civilized world can’t get slapped in the face hard enough by Iran, Sudan and North Korea to realize it’s long past due to slap back. Hard.
Let us look at recent history with Iran. Let us bypass the Team Oscar olive branch slapped out of President Obama’s hand with the demand for apologies and submission by Ahmadinejad’s Foreign Minister, and go straight to President Obama’s peace video to the Iranian people.
The President’s heartfelt appeal to Iran was met with scorn, derision, and demands for diplomatic concessions and apologies for past wrongs. Nevermind Iran’s. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei not only dismissed President Obama’s overture, but later threw Death to America rallies in the streets of Tehran, to impress upon the Iranian people that the Great Satan was just under new management.
Here are some comparative statements that I found rather eye-opening during my research:
The first is a quote from Adolf Hitler in 1938, regarding Sir Neville and the Munich Pact:
“An impertinent busybody who spoke the ridiculous jargon of an outmoded democracy.”
This is a statement from Iran spokesman Hassan Qashqavi, regarding President Obama’s video:
“It seems that the repetition of the past U.S. administration’s accusations would be in contrast with the slogan of change.”
Here’s a follow-up statement by Ahmadinejad’s media adviser, Ali-Akbar Javanfekr, after the Obama peace video, no doubt with the blessing of leash-holder Mahmoud:
“Our people will never forgive the shooting down of an Iranian passenger airline over the Persian Gulf by a US warship.”
So much for apologies for past wrongs. Mr. Javanfekr, by the way, is referring to the incident in 1988 during the Iran-Iraq War in which the USS Vincennes, mistaking Iran Air Flight 665 for an F-15 fighter in a war zone, shot it down, killing all 290 passengers aboard.
A mistake we compensated Iran for, by the way.
My opinion? Since Iran killed 241 US servicemen in Lebanon in 1983, and has killed at least 170 more in Iraq that we know of, and even more in Afghanistan, I believe that puts us in the apology-demanding column. Again, that’s just me. And only me, it seems.
In addition, the US invites Iran to the Afghanistan Conference in The Hague, seeking their help in stabilizing Afghanistan, even as Iran not only supplies the Taliban with heavy weaponry, but also supplies EFPs to radical Shiite militias in Iraq and trains them in their use. Those EFPs have killed nearly 200 US soldiers, and have shredded many more. Brits, too. They even found an Iranian EFP factory in Sadr City last October. Not exactly what I’d call a trustworthy partner. But that’s just me.
Which brings us to this blackly ironic statement by Mr. Javanfekr:
“Iran enjoys good relations with the world community and its neighbors, but the US military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan is the only source of instability in the region.”
Yet despite all this glaring evidence of Iranian complicity in the mass murders of Allied soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, it’s “Damn The EFPs and Full Speed Hollywood Diplomacy Ahead!”
On the hostage front, Roxana Saberi now enters Day 33 of her Hostage Crisis, Day 68 if you count all the days since her arrest without charge on Jan. 31st. Yet SOS Clinton, without citing the international laws and conventions Iran is violating vis-a-vis Roxana, or threatening diplomatic reprisal in the form of more sanctions, merely renews her futile demands for Roxana’s release, as she did a month ago on March 6th.
Much as former President Jimmy Carter renewed his futile demands for release of the 52 Iranian hostages for 444 days from 1979 to 1981. SSDD. Some have pointed out that Iran does not recognize Roxana’s dual Iranian-American citizenship. The real question is, do we?
Now we hear that the United States will be attending meetings with other nations in negotiating with Iran over their nuclear program, meetings the Bush Administration shunned as an exercise in futility. This, only days after raids on New York banks that uncovered a plot to smuggle bootleg nuclear materials to Iran, raids that have resulted in 118 criminal indictments.
Yet another case, among far too many, that clearly illustrate that Iran’s nuke program is not quite as peaceful as they would have us believe. But no. Let’s talk about eradicating nukes. Right up to Armageddon Day. Churchill had days like this.
Now that we’ve just barely scratched the surface on Iran’s criminal terrorist regime, let us turn to North Korea, yet another totalitarian nightmare worthy of Obama’s Hollywood Diplomacy. President Obama sternly warned North Korea not to launch its Taepo Dong II missile recently. Much as SOS Clinton sternly warned Iran to release Roxana Saberi. And with similar results. In other words, Thunderbirds Were Go for North Korea.
Though widely considered a violation of multiple UN resolutions, the world’s response could not be more tepid. In other words, it could not be more Hollywood. Both China and Russia oppose even strongly-worded statements of condemnation from the UN Security Council, like parents protecting a criminal juvenile delinquent son.
Wouldn’t be the first time. Russia and China could not be more enabling of North Korea than someone delivering a free truckload of Gentleman Jack to a reprobate alcoholic. They also supply Iran and Sudan with all kinds of nice toys as well, in violation of their own endorsed sanctions.
With friends like China and Russia, who needs enemies?
And what has all this Jimmy Carter, Michael Jordan basketball and Hollywood Diplomacy over the years to Kim Jong-Il gotten us? A nuclear test, ballistic missile launches, constant threats of war, and now two American journalist hostages to be tried for espionage. Just like Roxana Saberi now. Boy, Iran and North Korea are just collecting Americans these days, aren’t they?
Yet another matter for stern Hollywood Diplomacy.
Like with genocidal Sudan, for instance. The International Criminal Court in The Hague issues a warrant for crimes against humanity to Dear Leader Omar Bashir, who then flouts that warrant by flying all over the Middle East to conferences in which he professes his innocence.
Yet no one lifts a finger to arrest him, or tries to force his aircraft down in order to bring him to the justice he more than deserves to face in The Hague, as has been done for hijacking terrorists in the past. And let’s face it. What Omar Bashir has done makes hijackers look like Romper Room.
In summary, Iran continues to kill American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, races toward building nukes, loads Hamas and Hezbollah to the gills with rockets and weapons, and continues its Hitler-like demands for apologies and concessions. And Hollywood Diplomacy is the answer. For belligerent North Korea, it’s once again the Hollywood Hills Sign. As it is for Sudan’s now-outlaw leader Omar Bashir, who continues his genocide unimpeded and with impunity, more than sixty years after the world said “Never Again!” after the horrors of the Holocaust in Europe.
Like Anette Benning praising women’s rights in the most misogynist and abusive regime to women on this planet, or Team Oscar totally papering over the Gay Holocaust in Iran in order to give Hollywood Diplomacy a shot, the civilized nations on Planet Earth do no favors to the cause of world peace and stability by playing the Hollywood Diplomacy fiddle as the world burns. Or soon will.
Ironically, it is the hated Israel, despised as far and wide as Winston Churchill once was, that is our only Obi Wan Kenobe Hope. They have no compunction about striking Hamas-bound Iranian weapons convoys in the Sudanese desert, or threatening to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities if Hollywood Obama doesn’t. They’ve done it before. I take them at their word. In fact, Israel is the ONLY nation on earth I can see whose word really means anything.
Before you go calling me a warmonger, I do not seek war. I would much rather see tougher talk and more strangling sanctions, even if they must be from international coalitions that do not involve Russia and China. I know South Korea and Japan would be fully on board. What can North Korea do? Threaten war? They do that every day, just like Iran!
As a veteran, I can tell you that no one hates war more than the soldier. But I can guaran-damn-tee you, Hollywood Diplomacy will only lead us straight into it, just as appeasement led us straight into war with Hitler. All the warning signs are there. Nobody sees them. Or worse, chooses not to, in order to give Hollywood Diplomacy yet another abysmal shot.
In closing, I leave you with the prophetic words of Winston Churchill, on the occasion of Neville Chamberlain’s ‘Peace In Our Time’ speech:
“He could have chosen dishonor or war. He has chosen dishonor. He will get war.”
I ask you. Who was right?
I can see what’s coming. Just like Cassandra. And like Cassandra, I am doomed to have all my warnings, based on the facts and history, go completely ignored until it’s just too damn late.
Perhaps that is the ultimate fate of humanity. To stumble, self-blinded, from one Armageddon to the next, until nothing is left but a dark spot in the universe where Planet Earth once stood. I hope that isn’t the case. Desperately! But I am not encouraged by what I see in the world today, and the history that seems to be repeating itself without end.
Or, perhaps, with an ending that is not quite Hollywood in nature.
A curious but encouraging footnote. It seems Gerald Warner of the Telegraph/UK has voiced the same opinion on all the above as I have, complete with Sudetenland references. Mr. Warner even one-ups me by calling President Obama “The rabbit in North Korea’s headlights.”
The Telegraph UK! Of ALL papers! Hope Spring’s Eternal.
THIS JUST IN: Gen. Odierno stated that the withdrawal of US troops from Iraqi cities like Mosul and Baqubah may be postponed, and may actually rise in number, given the dire circumstances there. One factor? Al Qaeda. Another? Iranian-funded militias modeled after Hezbollah. Need I say more?

There simply aren't enough words, strong words, to describe the dangerous foolishness that Obama has taken up as his international mantra. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. Burn me fifteen times, and I'm either a complete idiot, or a masochist, or a resident in one of those lovely countries Obama is playing footsie with. Obama and his crew must be deaf, dumb and blind not to see that the only thing these tyrannies understand is purposeful resolve if viable, brute force if necessary.
Obama is either foolish, or he wants the US to become a toothless dog of a nation.
Considering he has been successful in destroying our economy for succeeding generations, has taken steps to seize the internet, limit free speech through his ACORN proxies, gotten far more power to wiretap without warrants than Bush, and is now attempting to destroy our healthcare system and flood the country with illegal aliens, I choose the latter.
We've got to stop replaying 1938. It was a very bad year.
Same old liberal canard. If we can get them to like us, they won't mean us any harm. Well, they like Obama like the real loose girl you knew in high school, sure she was popular, she did anything you wanted to get you to like her. But when it really counted, did anyone really respect her?
I can live without being popular or liked. That's life. But if they don't repect us, that's death (maybe ours).
Those who do not earn what they have do not appreciate what they own. Likewise, those who have not fought for liberty (or at least taken the time to study the price others have paid) take their "rights" as a given. Socialism is a cheat because it pretends to offer a citizen both material comfort and personal liberty without obligation. So yes, Mr. Simpson, we are doomed to a cyclic repetition of history until humanity understands that you own what you work for and enjoy only as much liberty as you're willing to defend.
That depends. If you're a liberal, then 1938 was a great year. . . a highwater mark! You had "militant socialists" (fascists/communists) in charge of Germany, Russia, Italy and Spain, and "democratic-socialists" in charge of Great Britain and the old US of A.
What could possibly go wrong?
Allow me to offer one word, a simple, but a word rich in meaning: fools.
I so appreciate your ability to see not only the inside, and outside but also the far side.
"Dangerous foolishness" …great point SF! BHO's international diplomacy, around my house we call it "Russian Roulette" or "rushin rue let".
You're more genteel than the folks around my house. We just call it pferd scheisse. That translates as "road apples" in English. Except we don't say "road apples," either.
An entire ship of fools. We should float it off to the waters near Somalia, put a big dollar sign on it with a huge poster that says "Valuable, please do not steal. VIPs aboard." When the locals demand a ransom, we can reply with "President who?"
Dissenters explode like the Alien out of John Hurt's stomach when I compare 1933 Germany to today. But it's not only true – it's worse. In 1933, England had Winston Churchill who would fight Naziism 'on the beaches, on the landing strips and in the street'. But today, England instead has the Archbishop of Canterbury blessing Sharia law as 'inevitable' and a Labour government that fines Christians for wearing crosses or telling pensioners they will pray for them. In 1933, America had Roosevelt who 'lent' vital guns and money to England who held off the foe until we came to our senses on Dec. 7, 1941. Today, however, our President not only refuses to lend even moral support to foes of Islamofascism, he grovels to the Saudi king who finances Islamofascism.
I will fight them on the beaches, landing strips and in the streets. I will never give up. But make no mistake about it – our way of life is on thin ice and we now have a President and a Congress who are swinging pick axes at all we hold dear. The warning has come true, folks. Those who forget history are doomed to relive it.
It seems these days world leaders of "civilized" countries think that talk is the only thing they need to do. They don't even dream of really taking action. That's one of the reasons Bush was hated. After 9 11, he looked at the UN's 14 resolutions against Iraq, the daily violations by Iraq of the no-fly zone, the disregard of the ban on certain weapons and said these things have got to stop. It is time to enforce the resolutions. So he did something about it. And the world said "we didn't think anyone would actually do something. In fact, we didn't really want anything done".
Even Bush was soft at first. Before 9 11 he was making plans to scrap something we've done since WW2, be ready and able to fight two major wars in two different parts of the world simultaneously. When 9 11 happened, fortunately, that unwise idea went down the crapper. Another example of bowing to the world: after invading Iraq flying the American flag on vehicles was forbidden because "we MIGHT be seen as conquerers". Hell, if you're going to be conquered by somebody, you'd breath a sigh of relief knowing it was the most prosperous, most generous, most humane nation on the Earth. Fortunately Bush steeled his resolve and did what needed to be done and we have not suffered an attack on US soil since. That streak will probably come to an end if Obama doesn't wise up.
It's so sad that people refuse to learn the lessons of the past.
How much will Obama's holiday from history cost us? Will we be able to pay the price?
When I was stationed in Germany in 1984, we went out to get Christmas trees from German Farmer. He was on one leg and and a crutch. I was talking to him about how he lost his leg to the Russians in WW2. He loved America and American Soldiers. He wanted to go fight "Russians today".
He said why Americans are so different than the rest of the world…."You all think you are John Wayne". he said in the Germany Army they would not attack without numerical superiority. "You Americans will attack with 20 rounds and 3 hand grenades".
We are a unique people. Luckily there are still "John Wayne" types in and out of the military.
The Constitution will "Hang by a Thread" but people will rise up and defend her still.
I was watching on TCM the other day the movie "The Americanization of Emily" James Gardner has a great speech early in the movie about how Europe had been a whore house for 2000 years before we showed up.
Great speech…..wish I could find it all…… God Bless the USA…….Happy Easter All
Even, J. F. K. would quarantine Iran. Their goals are public knowledge, destroy Israel and by extension the U.S. first in the Middle East and then by exporting terror to the U.S. They'll want to preserve the infrastructure so they'll want to cow the people of the U.S. in to a Euro style submission. Now, this might take 50 years and a sucession of Mullahs and dictators, but Islam will soldier on.
Nice analysis USArt….the world is collectively fiddling while Rome is burning. We were the one country manning Roosevelt's gardenhose, now the Moron-in-Chief is preparing to turned off the spigot. As the great American film star Bugs Bunny would say "what a maroon!"

As you know better than most, Obama's even more incidious damage will occur as his judicial appointments rocket through the rubber stamp Congress. Like Carter, it's bad enough to make a shambles of a portion of one's job, but a multi-task screw up like Obama is fortunately a rare thing. Carter's crazy jurists are still inflicting damage on America.
You are spot on. I bet a deep psycological work up of Obama would be very revealing. I don't plan to read his book, but from what I've read, he had a wacky rollercoaster of a childhood. Freudians would have a field day with this guy. He shares a screwed up childhood with many notable marvelous "leaders". Hitler, Stalin and Saddam leap to mind.
We should run 1938 on a loop so the generally under informed American body politic might learn something. When exactly did the schools STOP teaching history? Oh ya that's right, mid-sixties? Political correctness?
I also remember his saying something to the effect that with all our provincialism, we had never managed to produce a HItler or a Mussolini.
Isn't his first appellate court nomination a beaut? Allah, OK. Jesus, no way! And a state legislature is ordered to bow to the federal secular will, with a twist. The faith of our fathers dares not speak its name, but it's just fine to invoke the name of the god of our sworn enemies. Too bad Congress couldn't confirm his nomination tomorrow and celebrate Easter by making sure Christianity is permanently banned from any place of public business.
I just hope we don't hear Porky Pig's line 'Th-th-that's all folks!"
The Churchill analogy may be even more apt than you think. Churchill inherited the weakened Chamberlain military. When he sat down after making one of the great speeches of all time, Churchill is alleged to have leaned over to the man next to him and said "and what are we going to throw at them, beer bottles?"
And the tidal wave of a backlash growing under the calm waters Obowma thinks he's swimming in. We taxes payers are like the proverbial duck, calm on the surface, paddling like a maniac under the water.
"word dat!" I'm working on that cool new language those wacky kids are "rapping" these days.
He and the Mrs. are in the early part of scouting some nice water front property to build on, you know, utilities, paved roads, reasonable taxes, good schools; IN KENYA!
There's a true story of a airborne G.I. that jumped in during the wee hours of D-Day. When the rest of his outfit (there was a large scattering of 101 and 82nd that night) they found him dead in a fox hole with NINE German soldiers around him. The closest German to the dead paratrooper was beaten to death by his rifle, a potato masher still in his hand. He had expended his ammo and died fighting hand to hand. THAT'S my country, those are our hero's, not some liberal Hollywood actor or a weenie bowing to a king.
Look up the exploits of the late, great Eddie Albert. He EARNED a bronze star, ferrying Marines into the teeth of vicious Japanese machine gun fire at the Battle of Tarawa, making multiple trips then courageously using his landing craft to cover Marines from fire and certain death. That's an American hero.
B. Hussein O. Jr. is a red diaper Marxist. He has no intention of furthering America's best interests. His underlying motivations and goals are traitorous.
I realize that it would be considered gauche for media to talk about him that directly, but it is what needs to happen.
When you can't accurately describe a problem, you can't solve it.
" You American haters bore me to tears, Ms. Barham. I've dealt with Europeans all my life. I know all about us parvenus from the States who come over here and race around your old Cathedral towns with our cameras and Coca-cola bottles… Brawl in your pubs, paw at your women, and act like we own the world. We over-tip, we talk too loud, we think we can buy anything with a Hershey bar. I've had Germans and Italians tell me how politically ingenuous we are, and perhaps so. But we haven't managed a Hitler or a Mussolini yet. I've had Frenchmen call me a savage because I only took half an hour for lunch. Hell, Ms. Barham, the only reason the French take two hours for lunch is because the service in their restaurants is lousy. The most tedious lot are you British. We crass Americans didn't introduce war into your little island. This war, Ms. Barham to which we Americans are so insensitive, is the result of 2,000 years of European greed, barbarism, superstition, and stupidity. Don't blame it on our Coca-cola bottles. Europe was a going brothel long before we came to town. "

And he's about to kill the goose that provides the golden eggs.
Oh, puh-lease! Why would they move there, the only caring he's shown for the place is its letting him mark that check box on forms. It's making far more sense for them to re-create that charming "shared community by shared suffering" feel over here, it'll only cost several trillion of everybody else's money. Then they'll still be able to get good pizza.
It grieves me to even write these words, but Obama's International Dance Party will end with a major terrorist attack on our soil; possibly a coordinated series of attacks. I'm certain of it…why wouldn't they? Because of his nice smile and powerful baritone speaking voice?
The only good news I can find in that is that it will be the effective end of his presidency.
The "why" is clear enough. As I keep saying, the left is focused on the domestic front. Obama wants to reprogram the culture and economy. If that is his ambition, foreign affairs are in fact a distraction. He does not want to get embroiled in unpredictable situations abroad that cannot be stage managed. We already know the pattern: he rarely leads from the front, likes to delegate hot potatoes and never takes responsibility before the outcome is clear.
Since he will not spend his political capital to solve problems, he is spending OUR capital in the hope that things keep quiet long enough to allow him to consolidate his changes. That´s what lawfare, appeasement, apologies and submission under transnational bodies is, the foreign policy equivalent of deficit spending. Like debt, it will hurt us down the road.
Wow.
At the very least, you would think that a President who says that we cannot spend enough in a recession would be willing to spend 4 % of GDP on defense. The common defense being the first responsibility of the federal government. Why is a job in a shipyard or aircraft plant worth less than a job at GM? Don´t tell me. I think I know the answer already.
There is a pattern that whenever a government invents more and more jobs for itself, it abandons it´s core duties. They will lecture you on your eating habits but won´t protect you from criminals etc.
Does anybody remember Zahra Kazemi? Murdered in Iran, and the Canadian government didn´t even get her body back.

I expect to be sucker punched. Bullies sense weakness which Barry exudes with his every statement. We are cruising for a bruising and the islamo-fascist are going to deliver. You can’t argue with a sick mind, yet Barry and his liberal ilk will persist until real damage is done, perhaps a nuclear blast?
Almost completely off topic. I drew a cartoon of Neville Chamberlain a while back and was surprised at how eerily he is a look alike to Joe Flaherty as the "Guy Cabellero" head of SCTV.

Winston Churchill said, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last."
Actually the real JFK couldn't get elected by the libs today. His policies were downright GOP.

Yeah, yeah. Bush is bad, Cheney is the devil. Meaningful conversation and analysis? Fuhggedaboudit.
Thank you. I've got a good optometrist.
Great rant. Someone notify the Republican Party. Many of its leaders only see & fear Obama's shadow when they should be paying attention to his real Goals. Do they think we'll experience some great natural awakening that inadvertently leads back to them?
After decades of warnings over the propensity of the Left to experiment via social engineering, we are now lead by those who plan on experimenting with everything, from domestic affairs to diplomacy. The ObamaShow seems to imagine that self-castration is an American Value, one admired by current/future enemies. The American Left has been pushing for this since they were spoiled teenagers living off the sacrifices made by their folks in the 40s.
Before people can repent their sins, they must view them in full. They must see the folly of error and realize how much of a mistake foolish actions were.
Barry is the essence of fools, and his sins and theirs are mounting in full view.
If you don't think anyone but you as a "Cassandra" are seeing these things, that's your ego patting you on the back, poor baby. Go read some of the criticisms at the Huffington Post. Sanity is breaking out all over, and will continue to do so.
November 2010. What a great month it will be.
Happy Easter – Remember why that's celebrated, and what the man at the center of it accomplished. The work continues.
A wonderful piece Mr Simpson. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to accuse Hollywood of being 'fair and balanced'. I can only hope that America wil wake up before it's too late. We have a history of backing up to the brink.
And the additional worry has a parallel as well. FDR concentrated on his domestic policy also (lend/lease being an exception to his rule), and then came Pearl Harbor.
Simpson makes an interesting reference to dual citizenship when commenting about the Iranian held in Iran and Hillary's flaccid approach (although the approach is separate from the conundrum duality creates
- which side prevails?). We must stop allowing dual citizenship. If someone wishes to become an American, they must make a choice: live in the past or the fiuture? Renunciation of former loyalties is a practical request. Instead, we allow the hedge-your-bets, fence-straddling option of dual citizenship to those hoping for the best of both worlds. Sometimes, they end up with the worst of just one.
Great writing Mr. Simpson! I've always been amazed by those who contend that self abasement is the surest road to gaining the respect of others. And now self abasement is enshrined as the keystone of U.S. foreign policy. In a strange way I can see how Mr. Obama would embrace this view. He doesn't see himself as part of the national continuity or an ongoing narrative. For him (and his followers) this is the Year Zero. The mistakes of the past are not his fault and the achievements of the past are siimply irrelevant. His apologies cost him nothing because they concern other people with whom he has no connection. The past exists to him only inasmuch as it offers examples of victimhood to be addressed by the proper rhetoric and "programs." Nobody is asking for George M. Cohan, my-country-right-or-wrong flag-waving from the guy but would it be too much to ask that he at least try and like us as much as he seems to like Venezuela and France?
And once again, the filthy maggot pigs enable this swill.
Too true, Law – that's about all Chamberlain left them. But – at least Churchill was determined to fight anyway. That's the spirit. If you have it, in the end, that's all that counts.
I second that. There will be an attack soon. I just don't know where. And I'm getting the creeps thinking that this time it will be a chemical or biological attack.
America has never had its Mussolini? Clearly an inaccurate statement as of January 20, 2009.
Now there's a frightening thought.
November 2010. What a great month it will be.
If we all live to see it.
Shortly after our election, Ayman al Zawahiri sent out a message to the al Qaeda faithful where he condemned our new president as a "muslim traitor". This wasn't widely reported by our news, and maybe it shouldn't have been, but most people have no freaking idea to his day what chain of events they set in motion by electing Obama.
And yet, we continue to see approval ratings in the mid sixties.
I'm starting to think America has the President it deserves.
Dear James, My problem here is with President Obama's inaction, not President Stalin. Come on! The Bushitler was bad enough from Lefties. I don't need four years of Obama the Anti-Christ reflecting on ME! My childhood was pretty screwed up, too, BTW. Lotta company there, I'll bet.
James, I have torn President Obama a new one in more places than here. SOS Clinton, too. That is my First Amendment right. To date. Yet Barack Obama is President. I try to respect the office, if not the man. I hammer him on the issues. And it only gives Lefties more ammo calling Obama a fascist Communist spawn of Hell to show how extreme we all are. Which I'm not.
I only compared President Obama's diplomacy to Hollywood's as an analogy to how very dangerous and self-defeating both policies really are. It's a problem for me. If you have a problem with the guy, make a statement like I have here. It's not like there ain't plenty of BS to write about. Look at Michelle Malkin's site. And think of how much better we look by articulating the problem issues, rather than just calling Obama Stalin. That becomes a problem for THEM!
I know Stalin. I've seen Stalin. Alexander Solzhenitsyn showed me in Gulag Archipelago. 20 Million Dead Served. President Obama is no Stalin. Just like Bush was no Hitler. Because if he was, all that Bushitler stuff would have been gone overnight. Along with all the people who thought it was so funny.
Just sayin'.

Skip, If you'll notice, I've actually linked to HuffPo many times in my reporting. Their Iran page is phenomenal, if not the best out there. I even praised some of their pundits recently for starting to wake up. So okay, I'm not Cassandra, poor baby that I am. But there are far too few of us out there screaming about the real Iran. Agreed?

Old Tom, those approval ratings have to be countered with other things. His Presidential Approval Index rating is lowest to date – http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/po...
John, I've noticed a distinct and surprising change in HuffPo lately – I can actually stand to read it. Arianna is going after bad financial decisions and personnel like a vengeful harpy, on TV as well as on her site. That was my point. I'm sorry, didn't see your recent praise; glad you're seeing them waking up, too.

All were narcissists: "begins in early adulthood…" indicated by 5 of the following:
(1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
(3) believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
(4) requires excessive admiration
(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
(9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
POTUS scored 100%: 9 out of 9!

I would also end automatic citizenship for any child born on American soil. Most countries confer their citizenship based on parent citizenship.
Very Nice !!!!
Thanks so much for finding it for me……:)
Note that I´m not saying he is above killing terrorists (or pirates) even while he appeases their sponsors. Obama will not let a bunch of jihadis stand between him and his social engineering project. Which is why he has let many Bush policies stand and his first national security appointments were uncharacteristically centrist. But he does not get the big picture the way Bush did and I fear he does not want to. 47 may be young for a politican, but by this age we are pretty much set in the way we view the world and process information.
And look: he kept his mouth shut and now he is taking credit for the killing of three pirates. Politically, it´s not stupid. If only he would use his clever tricks for the benefit of anybody but himself.
Well, we've had almost 30 years of tough talk against Iran and at least 8 years against North Korea as part of the axis of evil. How'd that work for ya?

[...] A preface on the next one. Andy Breitbart recruited me from Digital Journal in March after I went nuclear over Team Hollywood’s Tea With Ahmadinejad soiree to Iran, especially given all that was going on there. I spent most of March and April ripping AMPAS new ones at Big Hollywood and Digital Journal, and I’m an optioned screenwriter, okay? I could have just shut up and let it ride like everyone else in Hollywood, but I couldn’t keep silent in good conscience. Here is a piece that addresses President Obama’s lame handling of our nation’s worst enemies. Lotsa links to my previous pieces, FYI: HOLLYWOOD DIPLOMACY ALL AROUND (April 11, 2009) http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jtsimpson/2009/04/11/hollywood-diplomacy-all-around/ [...]
