Revolution Anyone?
by Joseph C. PhillipsBarack Obama hired Anthony “Van” Jones as a special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Jones is an admitted “rowdy Black nationalist” and “communist” who was also a co-founder of the communist revolutionary organization STORM: Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement.
Quick question: how many Marxists, Communists, Domestic Terrorists and raving racialists does the President get to associate with before reasonable people can assume that the president on some level shares their particular vision of America?
While perusing the manifesto of this now defunct STORM, several things struck me as particularly interesting. There was of course the passionate commitment to Marxist ideals, radical feminism, gay lesbian and transgender liberation and the ardent support of the unrepentant murderer Mumia Abu Jamal. And there was this rather innocuous looking paragraph, which I found especially fascinating.
“Storm had a closed membership. People could not just decide to join whenever they wanted to. Instead the group invited small classes of activists to become new members. This insured more consistency and accountability within the membership. It also allowed the group to maintain its strict demographic quota requirements; each class was required to be 75% people of color and 60% women.”
Given their expressed passionate commitment to revolution I was surprised to discover that they would sacrifice principle on the alter of race and gender. If revolution is what one truly desires – a revolution that will deliver “true freedom for our people” shouldn’t that include liberty from being categorized by race and/or gender? Isn’t a shared ideology – shared principles – more important than quotas? These of course are people living in the United States bemoaning the collapse of the Soviet Bloc so rationality may be too much to ask. It may also be one reason this group or Marxist revolutionaries never saw their membership increase beyond perhaps a dozen or so members.
My Friend John Rosenberg asks, “How will we know when racial equality arrives?” Certainly one sign will be when race is not a part of every organizational decision we make, which means for the new left that moment will never arrive. Cynical? Perhaps, but how optimistic can one be when even Marxist revolutionaries are focused on race?
Or our own Justice Department under our “post racial” president?
The Obama Administration has directed the civil rights division of the Justice department to begin aggressively pursuing cases of disparate impact.
Disparate impact theory argues that, in the words of Rosenberg, “statistical racial disparities alone are strong evidence or even proof of racial discrimination” even if there is no evidence of an intent to discriminate or discrimination in the application of the policy, practice or program. Any test or employment practice — no matter that it has been vetted by experts – is deemed discriminatory and illegal if the results do not reflect perfect statistical proportionality. The question of who studied hard and who perhaps could have studied harder is unimportant. The goal is not equal opportunity – that is the removal of barriers to opportunity put there based on race, but the equality of results as determined by “strict demographic quota requirements.” It has the ring of new liberal nirvana, but Black folk are all too aware that quotas are ceilings not floors.
The philosophical foundation of disparate impact theory is structural inequality: The barriers to opportunity are built into the system; any statistical disparity is a result of a system teeming with racism. The system can’t be fixed; it must be torn down and rebuilt along more equitable lines. Race thus becomes the reason to disavow the founding principles of natural rights and the source of redistributionist policies. Odd as it may sound race is the hammer with which they will rebuild the post racial world.
The reason the president surrounds himself with radical leftists like Van Jones is because on this point he is in fundamental agreement.
Revolution anyone?

Of course, by then it will be too late.

OUTSTANDING Post.
I'd say the revolution has already begun.
This black nazi, van jones, has given us insight into the type of radicals and misfits obama has surrounded himself with. Obama has created an illegitimate shadow govt with these czars that are outside the legal boundaries established by the Constitution. Another demented anti-free speech socialist has been appointed “diversity czar” at the FCC. “Diversity czar”? This is an activist govt for a lunatic fringe of lobbyists and special interest groups, such as democrat corporate donors and unions.
Every czar should be declared illegitimate with no legal power of authority. Law suits should be filed daily challenging obama’s unconstitutional actions and appointments. What obama did with pressuring the NEA is illegal; there need to be investigations and criminal charges. What obama did with threatening AIG employees is illegal. If obama had any ties to the union thugs being bused to town hall meetings in an attempt to intimidate dissent then he should be arrested, flogged and impeached.
cont……………
The revolution began a long time ago when the founders of modern liberalism cut the country loose from its traditional principles and morals. They have not been able to convince a majority of the people but they have been able to convince a majority of the elites who control the universities, popular culture, and the government. Unless conservatives get serious about taking over these institutions, the revolution will win. We have to carry the fight to these sanctuaries of liberalism and expose them to the American people. It is not enough to simply confront their policy initiatives. We have to confront their worldview and their operating principles. Otherwise they will launch one ideological offensive after another.
All the czars are un-veted, un-elected, and un-accountable. They must all go.
Fabulous piece!!
Good I am glad they are limiting their membership, that will mean they will never grow or influence anyone outside of some ghetto hip hop community cause they are cutting out all the smart ones.
Great Satan, your ravings about Czars and nazis puts you on the mirror image level of Van Jones
Libralism is the ideology of racial and class grievance and it makes a perfect cover for a revolution. The commies know that many Americans are intimidated by charges of racism. Exhibit # 1 is McCain's campaign that refused to make these associations an issue. It was, in my humble opinion, the most important issue of the campaign and it wasn't even broached for fear of being labeled a racist. Notice when Beck or some other conservative strikes a nerve how the race card is always played. If it looks, walks, and quacks like a duck it is a duck.
"It has the ring of new liberal nirvana, but Black folk are all too aware that quotas are ceilings not floors".
Are you sure about this one? Maybe I missread it, but I don't think the voting record speaks well to this..
[...] piece by Joseph C. Phillips in Big Hollywood regarding Van Jones: Quick question: how many Marxists, Communists, Domestic Terrorists and raving [...]
Maybe it's time to just split the country into "red & blue", and let people choose which side they want to live in. I for one am no longer interesed in trying to convince those on the left that they are going down a path that will distroy America. They will only accept a conservative like myself if I shut my mouth and agree with their agenda, and that will never happen.
I'm so tired of the "polarization" in America and short of an all out world war, I don't ever see the two sides meeting in the middle.
Idiotchild, my stating czars are unconstitutional, which they are, is akin to blaming our govt for 9/11 which van jones did? Are you dumb or just stupid?
I was "just" copying and pasting that same line.
My question is, who are these "Black folk (that) are all too aware that quotas are ceilings not floors"?
If they are thinking this way, they are certainly keeping their mouths shut and apparently they don't vote.
Nazi fascism was strictly based upon race, in that case the Aryan race. This is history repeating itself as the racial flip side of Nazism. Hmmm . . . (counter) revolution anyone . . . like the kind that never happened in Germany to stop the Nazis? Time to begin the counter-revolution, beginning with the defeat of government controlled health care.
Great piece Joseph…….intelligent conservative mines like yours are critical to our survival and destiny.
If you believe the Revolution has already begun, then you are a leader. If not, then ask yourself why? Do you want to be a leader, a follower, or a causality?
My "outpost" is a university in Texas, U.T. El Paso…I speak up EVERYTIME I get a chance, within the context of a classroom discussion…
…not alot of hard core Obama supporters speak up when I bash their guy….has reality set in?
I'll chalk it up to wishful thinking or a poorly worded sentance or some other kind of missunderstanding, but that is very unlike Phillips to toss something like this out without it being very well thought out first.
The rest of the article doesn't suffer because of it and is as always a very good read.
Speaking of nazis, would you like to discuss the similarities between obama's views and that of Hitler's?
Obama supports infanticide, Hitler supported infanticide.
Obama supports the socialists movement, Hitler supported the socialist movement. Nazi was short for Socialist German Workers' Party.
Obama supports nationalizing industries such as healthcare, Hitler supported nationalizing industries such as healthcare.
Obama wants a "civilian force", Hitler had the brownshirts.
Obama is obsessed with race, Hitler was obsessed with race.
Obama opposes dissent, Hitler opposed dissent.
Obama threatens the opposition, Hitler threatened the opposition.
Standing Ovation.
I'm still dumbfounded that the most "egregious" part of Jones' past is his truther connection. WTF? Why is nobody concerened about his self-avowed communistic allegiance? Why is nobody else concerned about his ideas that he can help B-Ho use the green movement to achieve "social justice" and "fundamentally change" the country? Why is nobody else concerned about Vones' involvement with the allegiance to the Mumia Abu Jamal caus celebre? WHY?

I, for one, am on a TEAR to find whatever I can on the remaining czars. It's my DUTY as an American citizen, and I do not take that lightly.

If the Justice Department wants to apply the disparate impact test to certain employment situations, then I demand that also apply the disparate impact test to all Olympic, NCAA and major league sports. There is a disproportunately high percentage of persons of pallor in hockey, curling, bobsled, skiing, skating (OK, all sports in the Winter Olympics), swimming, yachting, tennis, golf (except for Tiger) and the X games, to name just a few, while there is a disproportunately high percentage of persons of color in football, basketball and track (particularly the sprint events). What's good for the Goose is good for the gander.
Wow, I've located a new hero. It must be tough being a black man in Hollywood coming out for conservative values. It is heartbreaking to see what liberal, upside down reward systems have done to destroy so many black neighborhoods. It is vile to watch the racial division that has been encouraged by liberal race baiters. Of course we have to call out and fight true racism when it surfaces. What we can't do is tell black children that half of the country hates them, the proof being that someone is for free markets or belongs to the wrong political party. When James Byrd was chained and dragged to his death it hurt the entire country. But what if the event never happened, if it was only a rumor spread by a hate monger? Would it be any less hurtful to this nation? Those who turn every political disagreement into a charge of racism do untold damage to this nation. It is most hurtful when a free man is called Uncle Tom or worse. It should not require courage just to follow one's convictions but I definitely give credit to Joseph C. Phillips for following his heart and mind in a time when courage of conviction is required to get us beyond the racial division that threatens not only to destroy the black race, but the entire nation.
Revolution is in the air, but not afoot, at least in any meaningful fashion. There are still a majority whom believe in this system and hold out their hope that after the elections in 2010 a tidal wave can be turned and maybe a move toward common sense! Would that be refreshing or what.
It is my humble opinion that if things do not work out well in 2010 that is when the real problems will begin. The facist will take that as a sign to proceed at full speed and the constitution will become so much outhouse paper. It will be a time to separate the wheat from the chaff and Americans will either begin the battle to take the country back or they will surrender and be subjegated <spelling HA.
I am really morbidly curious, however, to see if the poop hits the fan will the correct facist be neutralized first, or not? I'm sure there are many people with an ever growing list of the heads that must roll to swing things around. I'll give you one bit of advice, though, if your gonna be a warrior in the righteous army of Get My Country Back, you'd better take out their comms, and the media too. Because they do not need to take your guns, they have UAV's and a whole arsenal of fight by wire and electronic warfare capability. Gotta blind em first, just a thought. Interesting article.
Jakester, you just got slapped down, Bitch!
I dont need to say anything really. Van Jones resignation is just one more piece of Evidence for one joyous thing.
Obama is finished
"Any test or employment practice — no matter that it has been vetted by experts – is deemed discriminatory and illegal if the results do not reflect perfect statistical proportionality."
And you can cite the case law that will justify this claim?
Because the difference in hiring, promotion, etc. must be deemed *substantially different*, work to the disadvantage of one of the Title VII protected groups, and there must be no justifiable reason for the disparity. Only *then* will adverse impact be illegal.
There is no case law of which I am aware where a *slight* divergence from the proportions of the U.S. population at large, or one which worked to the advantage of an otherwise disadvantaged group, or one where the employer could justify the divergence formed the basis for a successful lawsuit citing adverse impact. If you have an example, I'd love to know.
Oh come on. you are just repeating a bunch of shallow overgeneralizations mixed with some braindead reactionary whining about the good old days which really weren't all that good or pure.
Yeah, they wanted me to devise some virus that would kill off zombies like you!
"Czars" have been around for quite awhile, but only now are your ilk coming out of their bunkers to rave about some clause in your secret constitution that forbade them. Show me where it forbids Czars or admit defeat!
I lost my job because I stood up to my boss, a truther that would push his thoughts and beliefs off on everyone around him. I even did it in a respectful manner. Didn't matter to him. After I pointed some of the obvious flaws in his rather inflamitory statements he exploded with hate. Right there in front of everyone and I'm the one that gets 'let go'. Oh well lesson learned.
All your brainlerss shallow comparisons prove is that you are as uneducated as you are illogical."Obama Opposes dissent, Obama threatens the opposition", how so, is he out there killing and jailing his opponents like the real Nazis? Has he put all nuts like you raving about Nazis at those health care meetings in jail? You are closer to a Nazi than he is cause you make no sense.
MR. PHILLIPS– OUTSTANDING!!!! SIMPLYN AND TOTALLY OUTSTANDING….. SO TRUE AND ILLUMINATING. WOW. THANK YOU. Maybe uf you attempted to reason and compromise and see them as real humans instead of some evil enemy we wouldn't need to split the country. But old dogs are not good at learning new tricks like logic or compromise.
Does this mean the NBA. NFL, and N-whatever-L may be in trouble?
You are a virus. Have a lovely day.
It's difficult, if not impossible to use reason & logic with those who see things through the prism of emotion. Most liberals, at least the ones I know always seem to couch their arguments in emotion, logic is a foreign langauge to them.
Maybe old dogs can't learn new "tricks", but we're loyal, trustworthy, and we don't piss in other peoples houses!
Disparate impact theory… What will this do to the NFL, NBA and NHL. Will we now get mediocre sports in the name of diversity? I mean, players today are chosen based on their skills. If we go to race as the prime criteria, we will have less talented players. I guess they won't make as much money. That should save the pay Czar having to cap their salaries.

The fact that liberalism has taken control of the universities, popular culture, and the government is not an over-generalization. In fact, it's even worse than that because my friend Kipling forgot to include the media.
Everything he said is simply reality!
We wish it was an over-generalization.
Good article. Mr. Jones and his crew don't realize how weird they look to young people with this extreme obsession about sex and race. Most Americans live in a modern world where these issues don't affect them much. To have it on the brain all the time is a sign of something being way off. Like a bad case of sixties nostalgia and an emptiness for never having been tear gassed.
I think Americans are beginning to refuse to be intimidated by the fear of being labeled a racist.
It's being thrown around so frivolously lately that it's losing its teeth.
It just elicits eye-rolling… with a "whatever" thrown in.
I was tear-gassed once.
It wasn't as much fun as you may think.
"How many Marxists, Communists, Domestic Terrorists and raving racialists does the President get to associate with before reasonable people can assume that the President on some level shares their particular vision of America?"
Good Question.
I think that the key phrase here is "reasonable people".
Most of us here already had that figured out last fall.
Hopefully, others are beginning to open their eyes.
But the left, unfortunately, is not comprised of reasonable people… and that's putting it kindly.

Hey look, a Bushitler bumper sticker just passed me!
You libs are funny.
How many times must we be hit in the face with a fish before we realize that something smells? Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac. Once Obama and his minions remake America into the socialist utopia that they envision, they will dig in and never relinquish power. We can not afford to wait 70 years, like the people of the former Soviet Union, until Obama's America rots away from within. If we don't stand up now, we will be lost for generations. I, for one, would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
I understand a simpleton such as you thinks Hitler is defined solely by the Holocaust. I could go on and on with the comparisons but it would be pearls before swine. Go play with your obama blow-up doll.
I do agree CSheehan.
Always remember people: feeling guilty when you've done NOTHING wrong is a weakness and the liberals will exploit that weakness in every way possible. Plain and simple, just don't let them do it.
In the meantime the liberals, true to their programming, will continue to run the race tactic into the ground to the point where it becomes empty and hollow.
Didn't any of these fools ever hear the story of the boy who cried wolf?
Thanks, I did forget the media. Good catch on that one!
In the United States you can trace the rise of modern liberalism to the Progressive Movement and their disregard for the Constitution and even for the separation of powers. In geneal intellectual history you can go to Burke and the French revolution. Where would you like to begin?
As to the good old days that really were not, the bloodbath of the 20th century – thanks in large part to liberalism – is not exactly the good old days either. Yes we can perform dentistry with novocain but we also accept the slaughter of the unborn and are headed toward the Obama death panels. The Victorian era is not looking so bad after all.
Show me where in the Constitution it authorizes the use of unelected and unaccountable czars. The Constitution is a restrictive document and the government is forbidden to do what it is not authorized to do. The Progressives reversed the original intent and claimed they could do anything that was not strictly forbidden in the Constituiton. Don't believe me, pick up a textbook – one not written by the hack Chomsky.
Keep up the good fight!

Van Jones isn't the story — the story is the mainstream media which refused to print it. Those voters and/or citizens who do not watch Fox, listen to talk radio or take to the Internet for their information are unimformed that an avowed communist and wacko ("truther") was in the WH. This is how Obama got elected; this is how they're keeping him in office and his is how the country would be destroyed. The president was elected, the media was not. It is time for all people who care about their country to take on the media by a massive boycott of all advertisers on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Time, Newsweek, NY Times, Wa Po – and don't make the tired ol excuse that they put on entertainment shows you like to watch. When you lost your country, you'll be watching state controlled TV.
What's amazing beyond Jones past associations is that he had zero actual qualifications for his job – like BHO.
Obama is pretty radical as explained by ex-radical David Horowitz. An excerpt:
[Saul] Alinsky’s advice is: Don’t confront the system as an opposing army; join it and undermine it as a fifth column force: “‘That means working within the system.” That means that “any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people.”
It is first necessary to sell the public on “change,” the “audacity of hope,” and “yes we can.” You do this by proposing moderate changes which open the door to your radical agendas. Says Alinsky:
“Remember: once you organize people around something as commonly agreed upon as pollution, then an organized people is on the move. From there it’s a short and natural step to political pollution, to Pentagon pollution.”
Not an accident that the new Green Czar appointed by Obama to jump start the anti-pollution revolution, Van Jones, is a self-described communist.
Like I said, our current President IS a radical

Awesome post.
It all comes down to the Post Modern (Counter Enlightenment) rejection of individualism in deference to an epistemological approach in which fundamental ‘knowable’ truth is regarded as an absurdity and reality is the subjective culmination of one’s experiences (in this weird neo-Marxist sense) entirely dependent on race, gender and socio-economic status. Human beings, from this perspective, cannot be understood as sovereign, rational entities unto themselves, but instead only as members of a definable group. This way of thinking has been on a murderous rampage since the Rousseauians hi-jacked the French Revolution. A free republic won't survive its prolonged predominance.
Which reasoning is "this reasoning"? Please be specific.
If you're saying that an adverse impact issue was at the basis of the Ricci v. DeStefano case, then I can only say "duh". The city threw out the test results because they were afraid of being sued.
However, no stage of the decisions in Ricci is evidence for the amazing whoppers that Mr. Phillips told about adverse impact litigation. It certainly cannot be argued that the 2nd Circuit Appeals Court upholding the district court's summary judgment is evidence for Phillips' claims because there was no opinion issued in that ruling. And even looking at the ruling in the district court shows that the issues before the court did not involve *slight* deviations from the proportions of the U.S. population, but a test on which the white candidates had a pass rate more than double that of the Black candidates. It was this egregious skew in test results which caused the city to fear that they'd be sued under an adverse impact suit if they went ahead and made promotion decisions based on the results of the test.
The brother blogger hit it on the head. These folks are not liberals! go read this http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/lscott/2009/09/...
We've had a handful of czars; obama has appointed 44, more than the Russians had during their entire communist rule. Now pay attention moron: czars do not have to go through senate confirmations or fill out questionnaires. Why would obama appoint so many czars in such a fashion? Because he wants authoritarian power and his appointees are such raving lunatics, Van Jones and the Diversity Czar for example, that they would never be confirmed.
