So Obama wins on a false mandate against a glass jawed opponent, and everyone thinks he's the heavyweight champ. If we get the right guy in the ring -- right when government spending gets scary -- it would be an ugly knockout.

Gingrich would pummel him, though his candidacy's a pipedream.

(part 3)

Finally, we live in a world where bad things happen. We ought not to unjustly condemn people who do make mistakes and fall into single parent families, regardless of whether it's through divorce or through a death. We, as a society (not speaking legally here), should still help as much as we can.

But we should never make exceptions into the rule. That single parent families form does not mean we ought to seek them ought and increase their numbers. So, too, even if a gay couple adopts a child, that does not mean we should increase the number of children in gay couple families. These are settling for something worse than the ideal, and pretending that the fact that we settled for it makes it the ideal. We ought to strive as much as possible to aim for the best.

(part 2)

It therefore follows that marriage is only given benefits because of the potential of children. Homosexual marriages produce no natural children. As such, there is no reason for gov't to promote or sanction gay marriage.

Furthermore, males and females are different. This fundamental difference is lost on most liberals. The reality is, you simply cannot replace a man with a woman and pretend that the woman can be a father. Nor can you replace a woman with a man and pretend the man will be a mother.

Healthy children need both fathers and mothers. It doesn't take just two *PEOPLE*; it takes a male and a female.

The net result, the gov't ought to encourage nuclear families only. The gov't ought to discourage single parent families from forming, and it ought to discourage homosexual couples from adopting.

However, this is not the same thing as saying the gov't should tell people who they can and cannot sleep with (except insofar as children may be produced). As a result, I would be against laws that restricted homosexual acts (although I believe they're immoral), because there's no reason for the gov't to be involved there. There *ARE* reasons for the gov't to ensure a lower crime rate, etc. that occurs naturally with the supremacy of a nuclear family over any other type of family structure.
