Heather Graham: MoveOn Fembot for ObamaCare

You may remember Graham as Felicity Shagwell from Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me… or perhaps Roller Girl in Boogie Nights. Here, she gets physical in “Track Meet,” a new ad produced by leftist group MoveOn.org. The philosophy: if you can’t pass the public option on its’ merits in policy and debate, why not try selling it through sex and cheap laughs?

So, what’s a nice Catholic girl from Milwaukee doing in an ad like this? Graham admits, “My friends really wanted Obama to be elected so we all did a spell and then he got elected.” Thanks for sharing. Graham is a long way from that seemingly squeaky upbringing, having joined a coven of witches. But she becomes just the latest conjurer in a string of celebrity activists pushing ObamaCare.
The ad’s narrator is counter-culture hippie and actor Peter Coyote, and the message recalls another recent MoveOn ad starring Will Ferrell that lampooned insurance companies. Ferrell, for his part, has a growing proclivity for turning up in more and more politically loaded advertising. Hardly surprising for a guy who owes his career to playing George W. Bush, but when asked to meet the President snapped, “I don’t want to meet that guy.”
The jury is still out on whether celebrities influence weighty issues like America’s health-care overhaul. Surely, casting witches and clowns in ads won’t help. Are these multi-million dollar campaigns that use comedy and sexual innuendo effective in persuading a skeptical public? If you’re George Soros, apparently so! But then, “Track Meet” is a tortured ad that insults the very youth demographic it tries so hard to persuade. An obvious play to Obama’s core of young followers, it contrasts the titillating, youthful Heather Graham against a pack of older suit-wearing health care big-wigs. But… is Graham supposed to be sexy or silly performing her ridiculous warm ups (or does it really matter)? Austin Powers might say: Oh, bee-have!
Most perplexing, the producers unwittingly put down the intended audience — one straight-laced woman villainously checks her e-mails and text messages… another executive eats a cheeseburger… another parties with champagne… more than a few go ga-ga over Graham — it’s like they were acting exactly like the age group they are targeting!
Until MoveOn grows up and gets serious, the kooky George Soros-financed outfit will be about as threatening as Doctor Evil in a room full of Mini-Me’s.

Never found Heather Graham to be a big deal, nor have I found her to be as attractive as so many people think she is.
I would like to point out – even though this is a little off topic – that I watched V for the first time in about 15 years the other night and was thoroughly creeped out by how much that show mirrors the past year and a half in our country. I'm also now convinced that Pelosi probably eats mice in her spare time…harpie.
And if you disagree with me, you're probably a racist.
Heather Graham has two attributes that are quite attractive. Two pleasantly-shaped attributes.

That the pretty Miss Graham works and lives in an industry that teems with a plethora of pretty women would make the little tart rather ordinary, yes? Ah, the passion of propganda and it's effect on the vacuous and vain.
I believe this is the woman in the Lenny Kravitz "American Woman" video posted on YouTube. The men who posted (I'm a girl) were quite enthralled with her 'hotness'. Sad that any person would believe their a witch. Perplexing that one with so many opportunities afforded to her would believe it.
You're right, Manic. I watched the infamous Roller Girl scene in Boogie Nights 457 times and can confirm that Ms. Graham is not attractive.
Manic Otter, you should check out – if you haven't already done so – the long trailer for the NEW re-imagined "V". I don't know what the full series will be like, but the trailer gave me the willies, as apparently the "Vs" as the aliens are called in this one, are bringing us "hope" and people are quite enamoured of them.

I liked how the commercial demanded there to be competion yet fails to mention the fact that all insurance companies can only work inside the state and you can only buy insurance from one of the people in the state.
Strange that I can get car insurance across state lines, I can get life insurance across state lines yet for some reason I can not get health insurance across state lines. Congress can get health insurance from anybody in the country since they are in DC and DC is not a state. So they have to go out of state to get it. Funny how that worked out.
Heather can't act her way out of a wet paper bag (Austin Powers, Killing Me Softly, and The Guru proved that). I'm also guessing she has difficulty resisting the lure of a shiny metal object in the bottom of a racoon trap based on the times I've heard her actually think and speak on her own. Looks will only take you so far, and I'm possitive her train will be grinding to a halt somewhere along the next two or three stops.
The weight of Heather's knowledge can be measured by just dropping the H and replacing it with an F.

A better commercial would be a "marathon" in which the corporations fall by the wayside one by one unable to keep up with the "public option" (Graham). Then it's revealed that Graham is being pulled along by a truck (the Government). We see the crowd (the American people needing healthcare) waiting at the finish line but the truck breaks down 10 miles short of the finish and Graham can't continue.
Sorry pal, with all the thumbs in pies Soros has, he scares me. He really does. He should scare you too. It's a big mistake to treat this man like a joke.

She sure did turn me around on health care. I've been sitting here just dying to know what a third rate actress best known for being naked while wearing roller skates thinks about the public option. I'm sure she got all her insight from being in all those Oscar contenders such as "License to Drive" and "the Hangover". I LOVE "V" and have both the mini-series and t..v. show on DVD. It is scary how closely it resembles what is going on from the Visitors promising a cure for cancer (hope), the Visitors wanting to control the medias perception of them (war against Fox news), the Visitor youth corp (Obama's army that he wants), the Visitors eating us and taking our water supply (health care and taxes). Hopefully the new one will be similar and open the eyes of the sleeping masses who yet to see what is happening to this country. Oh yeah, Anita Dunn looks just like the Visitors.
Unintended, but it seems like they're healthier than little miss stick insect. Kind of sends the message that the "public options" isn't all that great.

These "progressive" commercials always picture corporate CEO types like some capitalist fat-cat types from 1930's Communist agitprop. Talk about ham-handed – all that's missing is the fat cigar-smoking guy in white tie and tails with a top hat and big green dollar sign on his waistcoat.

I don't care if actors endorse a politician. What bugs me is when they endorse policy that hurts the average American. In this case, Graham's wealth shields her from the consequences of a national health care plan. If Graham needs an MRI, she'll get one.
