Bill and Kim’s Bogus Journey
by Jason Killian MeathHollywood used to be the land of make-believe, but those days are fading fast. Today, Scarlett Johansson offers debate counseling to Barack Obama (her e-mail pal), and A-listers come and go at the White House as if it’s the Beverly Hills Hotel East (if only they had a better pool scene)! Now comes word it was Hollywood who staged the dramatic adventures of former President Bill Clinton and his trip to North Korea.

It all played out a little too perfect — a surprise last-minute swoop by Clinton into enemy territory to heroically stare down the world’s most blood-thirsty dictator and rescue two damsels in distress. The press asked the White House how Bill Clinton became involved in the rescue of the two American women, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, trespassing into North Korea and sentenced to “10 years hard labor.” They said they had no involvement. Of course, Bill Clinton’s wife Hillary works for President Obama as Secretary of State; certainly, the press surmised, she must have been responsible. The response from the State Department was that Bill Clinton was on a “private humanitarian mission.” How does one pull off such an extempore feat without government help? Why, call a movie mogul — of course!
Steve Bing, the multimillionaire behind “Beowulf” and “The Polar Express,” now has a new blockbuster in his collection — call it “The Pyongyang Express.” Clearly a man who knows how to make things happen, Bing didn’t have time for protocol, pesky nuclear disarmament concerns or international law. He fueled up his private Boeing 737 and before you could yell “Action!” a former U.S. President was on his way to meet Kim Jong Ill, a sworn enemy of the United States — who just a month ago was launching missiles aimed precariously close to Hawaii.
But it doesn’t stop there. As any mogul knows, making the picture is one thing — but it’s all about marketing it big, baby! No worries, Bing’s Hollywood P.R. firm Rogers & Cowan was brought in to arrange a spectacular homecoming. Since the women being rescued worked for a company of Academy-Award winning, greenie Al Gore, the firm wisely chose a solar powered facility to accommodate press events. Meanwhile, the pictures coming back from North Korea were playing out beautifully. Clinton looked so glum and stern next to a clearly delighted, but frail Kim Jong-Il. It reminded the world how wonderful Clinton can play emotions for the cameras: “In this scene, Bill, you are meeting a man who wants to take over the world — remember, you’re Luke Skywalker, and he’s Darth Vader.”
Back in Tinseltown, the set folks were readying a hangar at Bob Hope International Airport in Burbank for our hero’s triumphant return. No official U.S. government personnel in this scene. No, this is where tears are shed, and father-figure Al Gore emerges to hug the dear employees he feared were lost forever. One of the rescued women said Clinton’s team was “super-cool,” and she was right. Welcome to the A-List sweetheart. No disrespect to the woman, but the team may have done too much of a super-cool perfect job — usually prisoners look a little more shaken and stirred as they descend the airplane steps back into captivity.
These rescued prisoners had make-up, wardrobe and perfect hair that gleamed under the lights of the awaiting cameras. Thankfully, no hard labor evident. But something about this blockbuster leaves the audience feeling a tad anxious after the credits roll. After all, the bar has certainly been raised. Will there be more cinematic rescues of American captives — servicemen and women in Afghanistan who are taken by the Taliban or captured in Iraq by roving militias? The three “hikers” who crossed into Iran and were taken prisoner? Should Clinton be dropped by helicopter onto ships seized by Somali pirates?
We’ll have to wait for the sequel.

This was staged? I miss Bill…I truly do, this reminds me of the "Good ol days."
I'm having a harder time coming to terms with this development than almost anything I can remember over the past year.
On one hand, I'm delighted to the point of tears that Laura Ling and Euna Lee are free and back with their families in their own country, but on the other, I agree with all of the astute conservative thinkers like Krauthammer that legitimizing Kim in this way – with a personal visit by a former president, for crying out loud – was a disastrous thing to do.
You absolutely know that Kim got a lot out of this deal – he wouldn't give the girls back for free – so it's tantamount to paying ransom for hostages, and aid to Kim does nothing but enable his repressive regime further. I absolutely detest that.
I'm even less sanguine about how the ramifications of this will play out in the coming months and years. Bad behavior that is rewarded is repeated.
Hunh?! I didn't know this was happening. Bill is the one who got them out? Where are the action-sequences? Is this a straight to dvd movie? Will they have a director's commentary track? Is there going to be a director's cut?
Man, I want to know!!!
The only thing that kept running through my mind every time I saw the stern visage of Slick Willie in Korea was Andy Kaufman doing his "Here I come to save the day!" Mighty Mouse routine.
What is it called when you aid and abet the enemy?
A little undermining by the Clintons of the Obama administration?
The Clinton's saw a chance to upstage Obama in return for the relatively impotent position Hillary is in now?
Obama claimed not to have a hand in the 'rescue'.
Or a calculated attempt to distract attention from the Obamacare debacle currently going on?
dems define treason differently than Americans do.
I think the word you are trying for is Treason.
Geeez of course Kim would give Bill the reporters. It was slick willie who handed Kim the ability to make nuclear bombs. Hell Billy boy would sell he soul to the devil for some air time. God the last three Democratic Presidents were Carter, Clinton and now the Marxist Osama. And people actually elected these fools.
Clinton being airlifted in the dark onto a pirated ship from Oxfam, getting his bearings he searches for the large cake with the girl inside……….Setevn Seagal, eat your heart out. Bing in-Ovitz out !
Dems and Libs define most things differently than the majority of Americans. This is why it is a waste of time to try and understand where they are coming from when there is any type of debate. Conservatives are a big disadvantage as we come from reason and the real world, they do not. We can speak until we are blue in the face and it will do no good. It is like an eagle trying to comprehend the life of a ground hog.
sending bill to pick up the chicks…he gets the job done every time. what a great american.
Right out of the Theater of the Absurd performed for an audience of the gullible.
Almost gives new meaning to 'making out in a women's prison with a handfull of pardons', doesn't it?
this is political gamesmanship/dog and pony show…
The NK's will never knowingly miss and opportunity, nor will Bill Clinton- so self serving is the phrase of the day.Not to mention the diss of Obama and Gore. Or Hillary, for that matter. Steve Bing produces big reception.
No surprise there either.
If this was a Republican operation this would be exposed for the naked opportunism it is…
Libs call it diplomacy…opening a dialogue…running through flower laden fields with the unicorns and butterflies…
The liberal rose by any other name would smell as a pungent stench.
I am happy that Laura Ling and Euna Lee got the hell out of North Korea. Rocks for breakfast, lunch, and diner just can't be good! We will never know what price we paid to get them out. I doubt we gave much more away on this trip than what Bill gave away during his presidency. At least this time we received two Americans back and N. Korea threw Bill back into the plane for good measure.
I wish Kim had kept Bill.
Look at the percentages. If Bill keeps going on these missions of mercy, one regime might possibly keep him. Hillary will then relocate to be with her Bill. This is one way we can subtley regain control, with the only problem being, there has to be a boatload of crazy regimes in order to clean out the nest.
I also think that sitting on flower petals is downright sweet
Re: Bill is Luke Skywalker and KJL is Darth Vader. "American Morning"'s John Roberts actually commented off-air that the scene at Hangar 25 looked to him like a Harrison Ford movie. But he was thinking I believe of "Air Force One."
Does this mean Harrison Ford has to play Bill in the movie?
So the girls came out all clean and sparkly and not a disheveled hair in sight, huh? Just wonderin'…
Could it be that this all was a publicity stunt? The capture of the girls, etc.
I don't think the capture of the girls was staqged.
But they were working for Al Gore. So, the spotlight should have been on , Hey genius, why the hell is a nobel prize winning, academy award winning, emmy winning superbrain sending his reporters to sneak over the border of one of the world's most backward evil countries? Leading one to think that Al Gore must have been trying pretty hard to get them freed. So…the lines of communications get opened with whoever inside the dictatorship…do they go tell the administration, or do they just figure perfect, we can gain a little cred relative to the Fudge Nitwit.
does that make Obama Jar-jar binks?
Why didn't Bill just sit on Kim Jong Il? He could have ended this all right then and there.
WOW, great article Mr.Meath. This doesn't surprise me at all. One can only wonder what Bill Clinton was doing over there and if the issue of the two journalists ever came up, which I believe it did. Not even looking into it very hard we can see that this is another ploy that makes the United States look ignorant. A former President sitting next to the dangerous dictator who has a tremendous amount of hatred for our great country. As I said, if this was a fruad, it wouldn't surprise me but even if it wasn't we still have to wonder why Kim Jong Ill requested Bill Clinton and what was at the top of their little talk that went on for hours.

True enough. But you know, there was absolutely no other way to get these women out, short of sending Indiana Jones. In the long run, what will it really matter? It's not as though our foreign policy regarding North Korea is otherwise smart…
I'm reasonably sure there was nothing other than naivete involved in the women straying into North Korea. Which I assume they in fact did. One thing I'm confused about though. Why were there no other people with them? Drivers, sound techs, camera crew, coffee gopher, interpreter, guide, agent; seems like there should have been someone. It appears to have been just the two young female reporters out there all by themselves. In communist China? That seems weird.
Kim in the pic looks so much like the Team America World Police character it's uncanny. Come to think of it. . .this whole thing is straight out of that film. I do wonder what Bill had to give Kim.
I respectfully disagree. Hillary's shot at the presidency is over. She can't run in 2012 against Obama's incumbency. By 2016 she'll be what, seventy? That would be her first shot as Biden is not electable on his own merit. But if things go as we hope they will, in 2016 she'll be running against a Republican incumbent. The Dems will need some fresh "hope'n'change" by that time, not a throwback to the '90s.
From what I've heard of Kim, he probably traded for some DVDs from Clinton's private collection.
OT You might very well be right but dreams die hard for all of us for Ms.H I believe they die harder. As for her age 70 is the new 60 don't you know. I've learned to put nothing past these Politico's on both side's of the Aisle and the Clinton's in particular. All things are possible these days and maybe up for grabs . It will all show itself in time. I hope and pray it comes down in The People's Favor. Thanks for your reply.
I believe I had read that they were working on a story about "Female trafficking". But the circumstances about their arrest haven't been clearly explained. So, as far as I can tell, they were in fact illegally inside North Korea. Which brings me back to the question, what the hell is Al Gore doing, putting people in this situation, for the sake of a story?

I woudln't count her out. Don't forget that she has Satan and every Demon in hell on her side.
'Hey, girls, its a LONG flight 'till we're back home. You're real grateful that I came out and got you, right?"
"Right??"
"Bingy baby's got a nice wall with some mirrors and a pole in the back. Let's go debrief you two. And I'll tell ya'll about how hard it was to get this all set up. I had to get Bamy to send the Old Lady to Kenya, for cryin' out loud!"
Is there a policy here, or just Bill's libido??
The first truly transparent thing this administration has done. Congrats!! Applause, fade out.
Great photo of the BELL BROTHERS… Ding and Dong
Maybe a laxative – Kim looks like he hasn't taken a dump in six months.
Maybe that's why he's so …cranky.
Are you referring to George Soros and All the Far-Lefty Swines in Hollyweird.
Glad they're home free, but I fear the price tag for this little photo-op will eventually have to be paid in blood.
Maybe Bill should buy up some property over there, given that he loves North Korea's socialist paradise so much.
Oh, what's that word…Oh yeah! TREASON.
I am wondering how the took the video from above the plane during it's entire landing approach? The camera was on the plane perfectly in frame all the way to pulling into the hangar.
This is all part of the plot for the Big Come-Back of Lady Macbeth Clinton's Run For the Presidency. Live Manufactured History brought to you by Holly-Weird grab your popcorn and your beverage of choice ladies and germs……………… You too President Joker the Curtains going up or is the Curtain going down. It I guess depends all on one's point of view.I hope you enjoy the Show . We Will.
You have to think that the Clintons hate freakin' Obama. He has cost them a fortune, usurped them, out-cooled them (to the uneducated meglomanic loving leftists) , made them whiteys again.
What seems to have been hidden in this whole thing is this question: "Were these women guilty of violating North Korean laws?" That is being fudged over somewhat. Because it leads to the question, what the hell kind of outfit is Al Gore running, that it allows (or encourages) it's employers to violate the laws of other countries?
None of the press I've read about this ever discusses if they were in fact breaking North Korean law and had entered N. K. illegally.
Quick poll:
How many of you would take Bill over Barack right now?
No alternatives or saying "neither". Only two choices: Bill or Barack.
While I am glad that the women are home, I was a bit disturbed to find out that the women had actually crossed into North Korean territory. I assumed that the NKs had snatched them from the China side of the border.
Knowing that, NK was well with its right to arrest and jail the women. Do I agree with their sentence? Of course not. But, this could hardly be called kidnapping by NK. Rather, it was a stupid thing to do by those women.
I'll take Bill by a mile.
I saw a headline that was something like "Bill Can Still Get The Girls".
Made me chuckle.
Meanwhile, his wife's reaction here: <a href=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsSKYu3bpxo” target=”_blank”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsSKYu3bpxo makes me want to upchuckle.
Clinton is used to giving away the shop to Kim. He spent 8 years being a tool for N. Korea. Besides, they are kind of kindred spirits. From what I've heard about lusty Kim, they both view women the same way.
In the picture accompanying the blog, are the placemats under the chairs there to soak up any dementia-induced drool that might drip from the lips of these two has-beens?
Definitely Bill. He was an opportunist; Obama is an ideologue.
What looked to me as strange, the two girls when walking to the plane to leave had such large bags that one had to have help, does one accumulate a lot of stuff while incarcerated doing hard labor in North Korea?
The picture with Kim confirm beyond any doubt the the Clintons (and the Dems) are controlled by little creepy aliens. My god, we are lost -
Sequel=Slick drops into the white house, BHO disappears, slick gets a makeover by hollywoods' best & straightens out all the messes that bho has created, bho gets a permanent makeover & has to spend the rest of his life with slicks "husband"
"I'm delighted to the point of tears that Laura Ling and Euna Lee are free and back with their families in their own country"
I'm not. These chippies are propagandists for Al Gore's Voice of ManBearPig- 12 years in a gulag would be letting them off easy.
it was not bogus to the America haters and their prez – obama, the No 1 America hater

Did anyone ever see the two girls in a prison or work camp? They looked awfully well fed to me and they both had two pieces of luggage. Most refugees have the clothes on their backs and sunken cheeks. This looks "Fishy" enough to me that I might send it to whitehouse.gov
