As for Arianna, I think she adopted liberalism because, let's face it, it's much easier to be a liberal in today's society. You'll get invited to all the nice parties and there's nothing more liberals love than a defecting conservative. Look at how much attention that former Bush press secretary got for defecting. What's more, we conservatives aren't as hatefilled as liberals so we won't attempt to destroy your character or harm your family for simply changing your political affiliation. Just look at how hated Joe Liberman was for having enough character to not use a war for political gain. Other than his stance on the Iraq war, Liberman was right down the line liberal, but they still forced him to run as an independent because he wouldn't compromise America's safety for cheap pursuit of power. He couldn't stomach using our soldiers as political pawns and every time he went on tv liberals feared the American people would be shaken back to consciousness and see just how low they (liberals) would go in their pursuit of power.

When I was going to college at UC Santa Barbara, Arianna came and talked to the young Republicans Club. As I remember, she actually gave quite a good speech. Hell...I was convinced she was a true conservative. I'm more likely to believe that at her most fundemental level she's a conservative. After all, I think an overwhleming majority of people are conservative at their core because, when you think about it, conservatism is based in logic and common sense. I don't know too many liberals who run their families the way they say they wish to run society. Liberalism is a contrived, fantasy that can only be adopted when one has too much time on their hands due to the fact that they don't have to worry about the basics in life. That's why liberals get so scared when big terrorist actions take place. They know that when people are faced with the fear of death and destruction they reflexively run to the conservative side. And it makes perfect sense. When reality slaps you in the face all the liberal garbage not only becomes unattractive, it becomes down right infuriating and nonsensical.

There was in fact a news story several years ago that said she only paid something like $600 in taxes that year. I paid over $6000 in taxes that same year, and I made faaaaaaar less than she did.

Which mess?

The one that Jimmy Carter started in Iran?
The one that Bill Clinton was too busy to do anything about?
Or the one that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank created?

You moonbats created so many I have a hard time figuring out which one you are talking about.
