Honoring September 11th: We Need Not Be Told
by Joseph LindseyBefore we can be of service to those who still breathe, we must remember those whose breath was taken from them on this day, and who took it. The current administration has changed this day into a national day of service, another move to further remove us from the reality of life as it is and towards the Utopian life that lives inside their head. And to help nudge society and our popular culture into that imaginary world, the administration has a covert operative in Hollywood.
Hollywood has beneath it a core of self-hatred, mostly because those who run it are engulfed in a glowing guilt rivaled by no religion or ideology. A guilt which silently tells them that their white skin is not worthy of the riches they have. And most are not.
Hollywood has yet to put out a single film which depicts the men and woman of our military as the constant ambassadors of service to our country that they are. Instead, Hollywood’s idea of service is to sell us a double scoop of happy face, sprinkled with fiction, dipped in guilt and then smashed into the face of the public at large – instead of ramming the truth of this struggle up the ass of those who created this mournful day. Unless the war is more than 50 years past, Hollywood is not interested in depicting American war struggles as noble. Hollywood is a global whore who needs to feed the anti-American lust of those overseas.
We do not to be told we need a national day of service. We as a people do not need an entertainment industry telling us there is no longer honor, trust, decency and nobility in our armed services.
This day needs to be what it is, a day to remember what happened and a day to thank the men and woman in uniform and in the government who were willing to go to any lengths to keep us safe. You can change the name of evil as the current administration has, but that doesn’t make it less evil.
We need to remember this day as it was delivered to us, and by whom.

some of us have never forgotten, nor will we ever.
The ones in uniform willing to make us safe, yes. However, the political arm that controls them has been hijacked and it isn't even by Americans.

Who benefitted? The Truthers are a lot more adament about what to do to who did this….they just want to get the right ones. They weren't some sheppards in Afghanistan, that is certain.

its really a good site for sharing ideas thanks
Well, now that we know which side you're on…
Speak truth to power, brotha. It was the liberal communists who sold this country out, cringing and bowing every second to their Marxist "Islamic brothers." And they say the enemy is outside this country. Ha! More than enough traitors inside….
For the majority of people, I don't believe guilt motivates them. I believe it's hate borne of the prejudice Evan Sayet talked about purging himself of. Hollywood is the Mecca of narcissists filled with malignant self-love. Narcissists (clinical ones) believe they are above all other people to the point of solipsism and will use whatever convenient reasoning is available to explain their superiority. The handy justification for their belief is exactly the kinds of prejudices Evan talked about (although not everyone who holds prejudices is a narcissist obviously) and you can see full-blown severe cases of clinical narcissism like Garofalo using these cudgels in exactly this way.
I don't think everyone with power and influence in Hollywood is a clinical narcissist and i don't think everyone who toes the line on these attitudes is one either, but the narcissists are the enforcers (like Garofalo) who remind all the others what happens to anyone who doesn't toe the line. Americans are generally compassionate people and if the narcissist uses language that implicates a lack of compassion on the part of the dissenter, no matter how obvious her own lack of compassion is in the manner she expresses herself, she can maintain social control over those near her.
I think most of the people are just weak and too comfortable to fight the status quo. It's things like Big Hollywood that help normals who feel bullied by narcissists know they aren't alone and generate the networks of relationships necessary to fight the enforcers socially. I hope it's working– it does seem this outlet is having an impact!
I hope those of you that live out there take a chance and stand up them. If you understand what they really are, clinical narcissists, it becomes pretty easy to contain them. Stop being nice and assuming good faith on their part when the way they express themselves proves they don't have any. Point that out. They're easy to scare, you'll see.
personally, I will never acknowledge the "national day of service" and I would encourage others to do the same.
I thought the national day of service and remembrance was stupid then I thought about and realized it is just woefully miss-directed. We should seize this day back from the elite who wish to muddy the waters and show our service and remembrance to those who fell and continue to fall because of 9/11.
For the service part of the day, we encourage those who want to be of service to go to the USO to pack care packages or any other military support group and volunteer there.
For the remembrance we can ensure that our children are taught at home and in schools the real events on 9/11.
This is how we take this day back by ensuring that the truth is never forgotten by those who wish to wipe it away and serving those who thanklessly fight to defend our freedom.
Once again, Obama shows his appalling gall. Can you imagine Bush calling for a National Day of Service to the State on 9/11? Only Obama would use a solemn moment, such as a 9/11 commemoration, to ask Americans to do more for him and ACORN.
Yeah, they're a lot more adamant about going after who they believe the real perpetrators are. Thing is, they believe the real perpetrators are the "military-industrial complex," or "corporate giants," or whatever. According to the truthers, they're behind everything. These are just the same tinfoil conspiracy theorists that have been around for decades, and they crassly seized on 9/11 as a chance to accuse them of something else.
I remember 9/11. I've always known that evil exists and you can't hug it away or theorize it into submission.
Al-Qaeda's thugs shook us to our core that day. It's my solemn duty to honor the innocent souls who should've gone home at the end of the day.
I remember September 11, 2001. I am a native New Yorker (Brooklyn born and raised). I watched the Towers go up from tar beach. My old man was a Ironworker , he did not put up steel for the Towers but he had friends that did. I lost a friend from high school, Vito DeLeo (GOD rest your soul) during the attacks. Vito was a HVAC engineer that worked in the towers. Hell, his office was a couple of hundred feet from the blast or 1993. Vito lost his hearing in one of his ears from that attack. Vito was best known as a hockey Coach to young kids in Staten Island. He set up a program to let kids donate their out grown skates to less fortunate to kids. Foreign Contingency my buttcheeks, WAR ON TERRORISTS where I come from suitsjust fine!
Day of Service……..my A**. I remember those who answered the call of service that fateful day eight short years ago. This AMERICAN will never, ever forget!
We definitely remember Bubba Clinton refusing to deal with Osama Bin Laden when the Saudis were willing to give him up on three separate occasions. Seems Ol' Bubba was more concerned with a smoothie or getting his cigar wet!

Very well reasoned and written comment. The gang of white-collar thugs/bullies running our country would fold in a heartbeat if ever they were to be threatened with being "put to the question." Or, at the very least, with the loss of their lavish taxpayer-funded lifestyles.
