Will Texas Taxpayers Reward Racist, Anti-American ‘Machete’?
by John NolteDo the math. Instead of someone with the last name Rodriguez telling the tale of noble, sympathetic Hispanics victimized by white American southern rednecks — all of whom are portrayed as murderous racists, what if we had a white filmmaker telling the tale of noble and sympathetic Texas border ranchers victimized by marauding, racist, gold-toothed unwashed Mexicans out to steal their land? Oh, and we would close our story with a stand-up-and-cheer race war where Texas ranchers unite to violently mow down evil Mexicans.

The same Left whose standards are so low that opposition to ObamaCare, same-sex marriage, and the Ground Zero Mosque can only be driven by a “phobia” or “ist” — the same PC Left that hides ”silly” old Bugs Bunny cartoons and can’t broadcast a season of “24″ without including a patronizing Don’t Be Racist to Muslims PSA — sees the vicious portrayal of white Texans in “Machete” as nothing more than a silly goof. I guess it’s easy to convince yourself of that when your principles are based on an agenda as opposed to any sense of consistency or intellectual honesty.
The bottom line, however, is that whether Rodriguez likes it or not, this is still the United States of America, which means he has the right to make whatever film he wants and 20th Century-Fox has the same right to distribute it. But does that mean Texas taxpayers should foot part of the bill for a cinematic slandering of both their state and identity? [emphasis mine]
A tax incentives bill passed by the Texas Legislature in 2007 and strengthened in 2009 offers grants of five per cent to 17.5 per cent, based on the type of project and the amount of money spent in the state, the Austin Statesman reported.
But the law requires that productions meet certain standards. It also rules out incentives for movies that cast Texas in a negative light. ….
The film was released this weekend, meaning Rodriguez now has about two months to submit it to the Texas Film Commission.
The Commission’s head Bob Hudgins, has to decide whether to approve funds for the film, which was filmed in and around the Texan city of Austin.
He recently told Texan media that he was nervous about turning down the state’s most prolific film director.
However, he added: ‘I have to make my determination on the final version of the film. I have to be Switzerland about it.’
If Commissioner Hudgins is going to be “Switzerland about it” then Commissioner Hudgins should always be “Switzerland about it.” Meaning, the awarding of “Machete” with taxpayer dollars is also the setting of a precedent that might come back to haunt both him and the state somewhere down the line:
Alamo Dawn: Set in 2030, this affectionate nod to low-budget, paranoid, political actioner-thrillers like Red Dawn, finds Texas overrun and under the thumb of lazy, shiftless Mexicans who may not need no steenkin’ badges but do need their tequila and white women. Tired of being racially oppressed, a group of good ole’ boys militia up to yee-haw and gun down all those who brought the failed and corrupt policies of Mexico to America.
“This time they f*cked with the wrong Southerner.”
If Commissioner Hudgins is going to force Texas taxpayers to foot the bill for “Machete” he had better ask himself what he would do if a bunch of rich, white “rednecks” got $30 million together to produce, market and self-distribute a “Bizarro-Machete.”
Could happen, right?
After all, we are a bunch of racists.

You don't even have to create a fictional story to compare to Machete. There is some drive-in in America that's having a back to back racist special with this running after Birth of a Nation.
I have a feeling though, that Texas is going to deny the tax credits. This time, these liberals f*cked with the wrong state.
"Never bring a knife to a gunfight."
That's not a chilling pic. Programming illegal immigrants to fight with machetes?
Mr. Machete, meet Mr. Colt, Mr. Winchester, and Mr. Remington.
"I have to make my determination on the final version of the film. I have to be Switzerland about it". So let me get this straight, the commissioner is going to emulate a country that's given the world the cuckoo clock, but won't give us Roman Polanski?
the same critics who hated 'The Expendables…
LOVED this trash. First of all,- and make no mistake about it, Robert Rodriguez is a hack. So you know the film can only be so good. Second, the left wing cliche's that drive the narrative are all inside jokes to the 'Spago elite'
who view ordinary citizens with disdain.
It had a meager opening; the 'slasher/horror' crowd was the first audience. Watch it disappear from sight soon enough. But as the Hack Rodriguez said recently:
"If this thing makes even one dollar profit we will make a sequel"
Egads…
‘I have to make my determination on the final version of the film. I have to be Switzerland about it.’
How bout "being a MAN about it" and screw the tax incentives. There is no way in hell that anyone could make me believe if the story line were opposite, that movie wouldn't make headlines and be front line TV news with all the majors due to it's bigotry, racist attitude and insensitivity towards poor Mexicans.
Texas: Don't allow this to happen. Stand up for yourselves and the pride of your state. I, for one, will not watch this film on the big screen nor my TV's either…..not one dime of my hard earned pay.
Interesting thoughts, but for the tagline of your hypothetical movie I'd suggest, "This time they f*cked with the wrong redneck."
What a waste.
The majority of movies over the last 10 years have been heavily vested in demonizing white America. RobRod had a producer influence on one of the most comically anti-white movies ever, Predators, efficiently ruining a potentially great franchise based on one of the greatest action movies of all time.
The Coens' "Barton Fink" is a caricature of a racist stereotype of white America, and it's a foregone conclusion that the Coens are elite movie-makers.
The contrast between "Machete" and "The Expendables" is remarkable, as in, which one gets dismissed and marginalized, and which one gets lauded, by the new mainstream, which is, itself, bolstered and legitimized by self-loathing whites, as in, the friend/mentor relationship QTarantino has with RobRod.
"Hating Whitey" – David Horowitz, describes the phenomenon with a multitude of specific evidence
"My first thought, John, is that we will see what Sly Stallone does with his next Rambo film. That pic you show above is chilling."
The next Rambo was going to be Rambo fighting a genetically-mutated caveman in Oregon, or somesuch. People hated the idea, so he put Rambo to bed and made "Expendables" for his innevitable 3rd-bad-movie (Stallone never makes three good movies in a row) instead.
"one of the most comically anti-white movies ever, Predators,"
oh, THIS I've just got to hear… please, do go on
As a Texan, I am appalled that Rodriguez would even attempt to submit this film to the TFC. For all intents and purposes, we are under invasion from Mexico. There are bullets being flung across the border and every night brings a new raid of operatives. Our own President won't even stoop to reading a 27 page request from the Governor for troops to be sent to the border. Is this not the defining reason we established an Army and Navy?
LOL… Administrator did not like my last comment, to machete like I guess.
I'm gonna disagree with you, the "Expendables" was great.
Like Andres Cyrano's "Piss Christ", "Machete" is a work of art, a reflection of it's creator's highest values. Outside, in the real world, where people actually live, the movie is offensive racist BS. It would be like making people in Harlem, NY pay more in taxes to help WD Griffith get "Birth of a Nation" out in theatres sooner….
I don't mind me some early RR movies like El mariachi, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Faculty and Sin City. He has talent, but I don't like the story behind this movie and I will not give it my money at all (same for a sequel unless it is a revenge, revenge movie where Texans defend their border from illegal’s).
Austin, San Antonio, Houston, DFW and El Paso will honor Machete. But as far as the rest of Texas? Uh, no.
Well, then, Texans — let them hear from you. film@governor.state.tx.us
To hell with Switzerland, I'm going to be Carolyn. This damned film isn't getting a penny of my money.
I posted this on Netflix, after watching it, in the theater. The over the top stereotypes, the contrast of those to the other characters, and especially the contrast with the original, make Predators the worst franchise movie that could have been great.
Brody's neo-lib social progressive morality is unfortunately everpresent on his face like Diane Sawyer. His pc moral code only has room for hatred of the comically corrupt white characters. It's not enough that the only unjustifiable criminal is white, he's stupid to the point of almost being defenseless and he dreams passionately about raping on coke, but the voluptuous tattoo on his stomach is … his sister. Right. The soft white bread doctor, played by Topher Grace, who also is pathetically incapable of self-defense, reveals himself to be an inept and opportunistic perverse sociopath at an awkwardly incredible moment, only to be smited by the righteous Royce.
The acting is not bad, TGrace and LOChangchien play their role as well as could be expected. But there is really nothing here of interest – nothing interesting to look at, the setting and the costumes are unimpressive; nothing in the story that is new or even a compelling rehash. Neither Fishburne nor Brody are as believable as a back-against-the-wall warrior as Arnold or Danny Glover. As a sidenote, the 'campy" stylings like the Darth Vader predator helmet come off more like disrespect of a high-potential franchise.
The original will most likely always be one of the greatest scifi monster movies, and Predators falls well short of the second-rate sequel, which was almost completely ruined by the hackiness of Bill "Don't let em get you, brother" Paxton. Hopefully this Nimrod won't direct the next.
Did they cut it? hehehe
LOL…. Quicker than a Rom/Com starring Rosie O'Donnell.
Well, if we want race wars, lets make more movies like this. Here are some sugestions:
1. Koreans mercilessly killing LA Rioters back in the day. Evil shopkepers.
2. Texas rednecks refurbish the Battleship Texas and go after Vietnamese shrimpers.
3. Amerinds use the millions of dollars from tobaco sales and cassinos to buy weapons and start a war of conquest.
We are going from the graet melting pot to the nation of tuperware containers. sigh…
The primary weakness of this film is that it's hopelessly out of date. Here in 2010, you can no longer complain about the man WHEN YOU ARE THE MAN(*cough* President Obama *cough*).
I don't know, I'd like to see Rambo take on a asteroid with his bayonet. Maybe even riding on top of the space shuttle ala Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangeglove.
One of the things I like about Stallone movies is other than the first Rocky & Rambo, he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. In my opinion it gives his movies elbow room to play around that you wouldn't normally see in a movie.
In my opinion, fast tap dancing by some pretty decent actors are the only thing that saved The Faculty. Sin City wasn't too bad, but it was a gimicky movie that relied way too much on sex appeal. Don't believe I've seen the other two.
I checked out his page at IMDB, and it fairly thin. Looked like most of his work he got from Tarantino.
NO COMMENT FOR YOU!
I'd chime in but I'm from NY. And I don't think they're really interested in my opinion.
Just have to say that out of curiousity I watched the banned cartoons – well the ones that were still available to watch. WOW! They were pretty bad. That Betty Boop one was, well, beyond politically incorrect.
Not saying they should be banned of course. But, well, WOW!
As for Machete, I find the premise entirely disgusting and it won't be getting any of my hard-earned money.
I think they are messing with the wrong Americans. I hope the thing flops.
I remember all the way back to the movie the "dirty dozen" in 1967. The Telly Savalas character in the movie. When the pshrink was asked by the major who headed the op(Lee Marvin) for evaluations on the twelve team members, the shrink said "Maggot is the dangerous One". Hes a religious fanatic. Naturally, they named the "christian fanatic" character in the movie A Maggot. Geez, im wondering when we can name a mooselimb character "allah sucks". That would certainly be true.
There are no less than 5 nice Day Laborer Centers within less than 30 minutes of my town. One center in particular is a quaint little facility, complete with soda and snack machines and bathrooms. I guess you could say the people there are "hiding in the shadows" if you were referring to the shade created by the covered patio benches they use. These Day Laborer Centers were brought to us with taxpayer dollars and the full cooperation of the Texas Workforce Commission. I wouldn't be too surprised if "Machete" was brought to us with the cooperation of the Texas Film Commission.
EEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Comment Nazis!!! Not that there is anything wrong with that….ROFL….;0)
Got another suggestion-Texas homeowners defending there neighbors property from stinkin Illegal immigrants burglarizing the house shoot and kill the intruders. Oops, i forgot, that wasnt a movie. That was Joe Horn defending his neighbors house and being threatened by the new black oanthers (and the media) for doing so.
Mr heckler, Mr Koch and Mr Ruger. Any combination or all of the abover make one fine law firm.
there goes lunch…
I'm not seeing why Hudgins has to "play Switzerland" on this. The law says that the film has to meet certain standards and not cast Texas in a negative light. Pretty sure Machete fails the latter test if nothing else.
his stuff is all crap…
'El Mariachi' being the best- because of it's super low budget. 'Dusk' is really a Tarantino film- and the stellar cast raises it a notch. 'Spy Kids' was watchable- barely. 'Sin City' had about twelve good minutes in it- and again, it was Tarantino's scene with Benicio Del Toro that rocked. So, we are not fans of his.
This is just a politicized version of his 'Grindhouse' trailer. We'll pass…
5.56
I didn't see it but wasn't Inglorious Basterds something like this?
O… kay.
So, how is it "anti-white," again? If I'm reading you right, it's "anti-white" because two out of about six or so characters who are all unrepentent killers of one type or another save for MAYBE the Israeli sniper lady are white, and even though Brody (white) is the nominal hero he doesn't "count" because you're reading some kind of psychic political signals from his facial expressions?
Um… so, in addition to being a Kenyan, a terrorist, a Muslim, a communist (however that works) AND a "secularist," the President is ALSO an illegal Mexican day-laborer?
Damn, that dude get's around
Ain't no programming going on till they dub the film in spanish and show it in dollar theaters.
Until they do that, they'll only get english speaking Gringos to part with 9-10 bucks to be insulted.
John Nolte,
You know when I first saw this I really didn't believe it. Honestly I thought the whole thing was a hoax. I really could not believe my eyes when I watched the trailer for this.. I didn't think it was real. I really can not -not believe the 20th century would be funded this kind of film.. Could you fill me in on there thought process here? Not to mention some of the big name actors doing this. Bobby D what are you thinking man, Jessica Alba well nothing between the ears. But Robert Dear Mr. Pumpkin what are you thinking about.
John why does Hollywood insist on pissing off half of America with such glee.. I don't get it.
As conservative in the weird land of dirty smelly hippies and professors in Austin, I would like to protest the use of my tax dollars, but I need specifics please without my shelling out 6 bucks and 2 hours of my time to watch it.
If you look at Hollywood as the leftist propaganda machine it is, all their seemingly counter-intuitive decisions (decisions a profit & liberty loving industry would make) make perfect sense.
Same thing applies to the MSM.
With that understanding, all your questions will be answered.
I am a strong Conservative and oppose illegal immigration. This said I must say I saw "Machete" and totally enjoyed the farce for what it is. A film which is a "spoof" of the immigration controversy of which everyone is making a big deal over nothing over this film. Sure Rodriguez is siding with the illegals as evident by some of the dialogue but he also has stinging dialogue for those in favor of illegal immigration but overall the film is a humorous biting spoof of the issue. If you take it at that then you will enjoy the film. If you want to make it as some sort of serious statement and want to stir controversy which after watching the film I would find ridiculous then I suppose you can.
Quite a few states have official kick-back schemes for movie making.
If that's the case for Texas, can they really *not* give those benefits to Machete?
And if they stop the financial incentives because of Machete are they going to be ended for everyone?
You know for some time now I have thought about 4 extremely good idea's for a movie.. One of my idea's is about a middle class worker, of my generation "Younger males" and how disenfranchises they feel about America today, women. Not Taxi driver type it would be the complete opposite. Comedy stuff. Low budget stuff here and you could do it cheap. My problem is that I have heard that the distributors are real tough. Like trying to get a Frodo through the Black gates.
You know a poll I would love to see, is the approval of Hollywood in America.
'Purveyor', it is a certain knock-off to start your comment saying you are "a strong Conservative and oppose illegal immigration" and then go on talking about how entertaining you found a race war movie. I shudder to think what your belief that "Machete" is a "humourous biting spoof" would lead you to interpret some of the puppet movies from Gaza. You be one sick puppy if you can't see how these types of movies are really a poor investment for the taxpayer. Why pay to denigrate La Raza?
Brilliant!
Unfortunately this won't be a spoof to the fools who want to believe it and are totally ignorant to the reality of life.
Ok here is my pitch:
GAYCHETE!
He's like Machete but Gay. His outfit is skimpier. His weapons are rainbow flags that are pointed into weapons and a tamborine that is made of razors.
He's mad at…well he's got about as much to be mad about as illegal immigrants have, so he's mad at something. Even though like illegals, gays are tolerated and treated well and given more freedoms than anywhere else in the world, including "civilized" Europe and Canada…he's angry at the USA.
Do you think I can score a few million from the State of Texas for this?
Worst movie of the year. Horrible waste of time and money.
nah,we already saw Armageddon. I say Rambo versus The Smurfs!!!
don't forget the law firm of Smith & Wesson
are you saying like Swiss cheese, the commisioner's reasoning for approving the tax credits will be full of holes?
And dinner.
Like W I'm from Connecticut. Since Nat Maines said he was a Texan do I count?
I thought that the Faculty was a good movie for what it was, I loved Sin City, yes it was gimmicky but it was done well. El Mariachi was made for around $6000 or so and is a rough action, revenge flick and IIRC Desperado is the big budget remake. From Dusk Till Dawn (Tarantino wrote and had a role in it) is weird, it starts out one way and goes another, it is one of the only things that George Clooney has done that I love.
When you watch "Inglorious Basterds", do you see all the characters as "white"? Or when people speak derogatorily about white people, are they not excluding the sympathetic plight of Jewish people? Brody (Jewish) is not in the same pc category as the Caucasoid antagonists. Technically, Oleg Taktarov's character is "white", and somewhat sympathetic to the audience, does an act of moral redemption by saving the TGrace character, but also sympathetic to the loose collusion of Whitey-hating opportunists who made this atrocity of a propaganda piece, because he represents the failed social policy of communism. The racism is in the character foils.
If killing Caucasians is what Rodriguez enjoys filming, he might as well have the cajones to do it in real life and get out there and start this racial war that they seem to be just eager to have. Sad fact is that this Nation is heading towards a Balkanization process and the coming religous-racial war is going to be very costly. Not since 1858, has this Nation been so self anxious about it's future and people across the Nation, so vocal about their feelings and beliefs. Unless everyone starts realizing the destructive path this Nation is on….everything that is, is going to change forever. No Nation shall go untouched if the USA falls into chaos because like a family, once the great patriarch dies, the children begin to fight among themselves for their own greed. As for the very racist film Machete, I"ll pass, there's enough real death on it's way.
You get the year's thumbs up award.
Certainly not everyone in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, DFW, and El Paso. Send help!
To Senator Mark4. Get a grip on your obvious sick fricking racist life. The film is funny and downright comical and is nothing more than that unless you want to make it so and evidently you do. If you haven't seen it and evidently you haven't SHUT THE F#$K up.
"Like trying to get a Frodo through the Black gates."
There are tears in my eyes from the uproarious laughter. Thanks for that.
Bobby completely sold out with SPY KIDS and really hasn't looked back since.
Forget debating abuot whether or not Bobby's little "Viva La Raza" hit piece dserves tax credits. Films shouldn't be getting tax breaks period. As an Austin-residing moviemaker (can't call myself a filmmaker since I shoot on DV) and San Francisco exile, I plead to the state not to go down this road and become another California. Much of their current issues stem from the fact that they decided to hitch their economic wagon to sleazebags in Hollywood who took govt welfare only to outsource most of their filming. Since that well has been sucked completely dry, Bobby has set his sights on Austin.
Isn't there some group of filmmakers out there somehwere who are sickened by the idea of state subsidized art and want to put a stop this crap before cinema becomes nothing but a propaganda tool for the govt (which is where this road will inevitably lead)? If there is sign me up.
And Nolte, if you can get me some investors, I will gladly make your anti-MACHETE. I was thinking something along the lines of ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 where an Arizona police station is underseige by hundreds of drug cartel goons-the twist being that when the feds show up, they help the bad guys instead of the cops.
It is set in Salt LAke City and he is slicing up Blond Haired Blue eyed people in ice cream parlors in Provo Utah. The Mormons normally good natured folk are at their wits end.
Of course the movi will have to have at least four dance numbers cause well it just has to…..
The thing that I find ironic about the "illegal immigration" argument is that no one seems to understand that this is probably the worst thing for the country of Mexico. Does the Mexican government have to provide welfare for their poor, education for the children. Do they have to worry about the state of their unemployent. So long as the uneducated and unfortunate can be sent to the USA to bring back welfare paid by American tax payers them the answer is no they don't.
The great irony is that a collapse of the American economy could end in people starving to death in Mexico because the Mexican government is never going to be able to deal with the loss of the 35 billion that comes from the US government. Ask yourself how many Mexicans are there. If we keep getting 12 million flooding our country every five years and giving them amnesty who will be left in Mexico.
A shame. I'm a big Danny Trejo fan, but I'll probably skip this one.
Yeah but you never have to stop and reload a machete.
Whoa! I just meant that the whole, stupid "Whitebread Anglo-Euro Exploitation complex" depicted in the film no longer represents the real world or even a caricature of it.
But you knew that already. You're not an idiot, just a passive-aggressive douche.
"and make no mistake about it, Robert Rodriguez is a hack" — And your movies can be rented where? You directed what great film starring what great actor? You won how many Academy awards?
Y'all get out your anger douche nozzles for a spoof movie based on a Grindhouse trailer. Wow! Is there anything you won't obediently jump through hoops about.
BTW going to see it tonight. Can't wait. I'll let you know how great it is compared to your movies that you releas….oh…..never mind.
I imagine you really were pissed at Quinton Tarantino for the anti-Nazi movie, huh?
Yeah, I usually like Robert Rodriguez's films and Danny Trejo is a great action star (definently not a pretty boy) so I'm going to catch Machete eventually.
Call me Pollyanna, but to me it looks more like a Latin take on blaxploitation movies than a call to arms.
However, based on the trailers I've seen, I agree with Mr. Nolte that tax payer subsidies for Machete don't make sense.
I loved El Mariachi and Sin City. Desperado was good but not great, From Dusk to Dawn had its moments, but I walked away unimpresed, and I never saw The Faculty.
Ma$hitte Stinks!
"Koreans mercilessly killing LA Rioters back in the day. Evil shopkeepers."
I remember that. Good stuff. The K's totally ruled over the marauders. Only positive thing about the riots.
No, no! You have the narrative wrong if you want to make a movie!!! The rioters were inocent, confussed people trying to deal with the complex emotional anger caused by… The White Man! To think otherwise would cut our funding.
I think Ill be able to find a few thousand Machetes at that point to use, just thave to pick one up.
he made Spy Kids II which may be the worst film ever made…
blah, blah, blah…
Nice to hear from Rodriguez' wife. Thought she was a little more discerning, though…
ah ha! A new fad diet emerges!
The Rosie Eating Plan. Watch her and you will never want to eat again!
Dear "Nervous" Mr. Hodges–
The Austin Film Society, who grovels at the feet of RR, also gets Soros money. There's a guy named Linklater who made lots of anti-Bush commercials. You should not give a dime to the anti-Texas, anti-American, "progressive" Austin Film Society. And if you don't believe me, check out this year's attendence at SXSW.
You're an idiot to fund your own political enemies.
Maybe, maybe not. So, why does this good spoof need a Texan's tax money?
and here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3Z86JpCO-o
warning, not for the squeamish…
Even Reagan said 'TEAR DOWN THAT WALL" when he saw millions of people wanting to flee tyranny and seek freedom and a better way of life. Hummmmm.
my comments are based on the film not its financing.
My comments are based on the film not the financing of the film.
Good old South Park, but I'd rather be fat thanks.
Ah, okay. So you're upset that the hero was Jewish. Got it
Your reply is a lie.
This is the template :
Deny – anti-white racism is nonexistent
Deny – what? two other characters are Jewish, feigning ignorance, or actual ignorance
Attack – Oh, you're anti-semitic for pointing out anti-white racism
Justify – yeah, but white people deserve it as they are the main antagonists of history – an anti-white racist point of view
I've never heard a contrarian response to this type of discussion that didn't fit that template.
The racism is in the character foil, and in the contrast to the predecessor movies. The two stereotypes of Caucasian were the most blatant, awkwardly obvious, and comically perverse I have ever seen.
I didn't embrace that gory orgy of wrath. I can get satisfaction that the enemy of history was vanquished without masturbating to their denigration, the way Tarantino seems to.
This whole conversation reminds me (opposite but, really, exactly the same) of this clip from "Chasing Amy":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0VZj-85E5o
Except that argument was staged, even in the context of the film, and meant to be parody.
"What's a Nubian?"
Friend, I'm just trying to figure where you're coming from. If anything, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt – you're particular fixation on THIS movie for THIS reason, frankly, makes you sound like a typical "racially conscious" fella who has a cow whenever there are white bad guys in a movie with nominally nonwhite good guys (re: Adrien Brody and Alice Braga.)
I mean, you realize you're upset about the white guys both being bad in a movie where the ONE Asian guy is Yakuza, the ONE Spanish guy is a Cartel enforcer, the ONE Russian guy is Spetsnaz, the ONE African guy is a Sudanese death-squad member, etc? Did you not get the premise of this movie?
Yes, the fact that all of the characters are outside the realm of conventional morality is the most surface level of observations.
,
, friend, I'm confident you could understand.
Do you not get the concept of sympathetic vs unsympathetic characters? In any story, there is a spectrum from antagonist to protagonist, and in "Predators", the only two characters beyond sympathy, are the whitebread Americans. In case you are too culturally obtuse to realize, they even spell it out, where at one point as they are banding together to figure out a plan to save themselves, the comment is made that the excon white guy shouldn't be spoken to, i.e., turn your back on that human being, he's beyond reform, absolutely delineating his beyond-hope state vs the other characters who are the sympathetic survivalists. The two white characters are completely unsympathetic and pathetic, completely unworthy of respect. That's the cartoonishly heavyhanded stereotypes I was referencing.
Did you not get the premise of the modern American Left embracing rebellion against the establishment? Is it so hard for you to understand that the only characters in this movie that have no possible justification for their actions, and apparently no redeemable qualities, the only characters that are without moral value, are the white American characters? Yes, most of the characters were outside the law, but that doesn't preclude being a sympathetic character, if a justification is offered for that rebellion, as RobRod did in Machete, propagandizing the virtue of illegal immigration. What makes someone completely unsympathetic is the cartoonish character that has a provocative tattoo of his sister, and dreams about raping on coke. The other white character's masculinity is literally the comic relief of the movie, and then in an awkwardly inexplicable turn, he decides to reveal himself to be a serial killer. The respect with which the other characters are treated, the Yakuza making a noble and courageous stand against the predator, the Russian saving the TGrace character, etc, are the stark contrast to the corrupt beyond reform white Americans. You know which characters had no redemption, and which characters deserve no respect? Of course you do, you just want to claim that I am the one with the misinterpretation.
Do you not understand any of the trends in society?
Reinforced stereotypes become archetypes, and therefore affect culture. There are cultures in Europe who chose to ignore the social progressive "humanist" trend, imagining themselves to be above the simplistic concerns of survival, and now are realizing birth rates below replacement – culturally suicidal. Here locally, an 86 yr old white man was stomped to death by two 16 yr old black boys and one 13 yr old black boy, 2 miles from my house. They admitted it was unprovoked and only intended as proof of their toughness. Legally they can't be tried for a hate crime because the victim was white. A sense of entitlement based on victimization coupled with athletic idolatry, reinforced by media stereotypes of white America as imperialistic, racist, and the great Satan of history, creates an environment where children would think it within the realm of possibility to think of such a crime.
I don't put a lot of stock in the significance of the movie Predators, it is you that were upset that I could possibly make such an assertion. Granted, Predators is a minuscule part of this situation, I was merely saying it was the most comical version of the Hate Whitey stereotypes I have seen, and there is an opportunistic loose collusion of forces that are more than happy to propagandize the evil of White America.
You realize you're upset that I pointed it out, mockingly requesting an explanation, as if certain that there would be no validity? You realize that it is you that doesn't understand the forces of political correctness and the current form of ideological oppression, ie, your point of view represents the path of least resistance?
If you took a break from the condescension,
Are you an absolute maroon.
NAzism is a corruption of Fascism, the Thrid Way between Capitalism and Communism. A socilaist utopia which can be easily achieved by simply having the government assume ownership of the corporations and then force the corporations to merge in an oligarchy that makes them more bureaucratic.
This makes this ideology the absolute darling of progressive liberals and is why the New Republic was writing glowing articles praising Musolini (the father of Fascism) and lamenting why should Russia and Italy have al the fun in the '20's. 'Course it does allow the ruler of the government complete control and if that individual is in any way human can lead to corruption on herculean scales but that never bothered a leftist,
Hey the Fascist philosophy I just described above is synomous with the economic policies Barak Hussein Obama.
You know I watched Predator and I got the over all nihilistic angst of the film but I never clued into that.
The anti-white stereotype seems so heavily laden in many movies that one begins to become anesthetized to it. But you are absolutely right. Both of the monstrous characters are whitebread (one poor and one from an upper class upbringing). The great irony of the upper class being told not to talk to the lower class one because he might be influenced when he is the really bad one is just thrown at you like a set of bricks.
I wonder if the probelm is not "white bigotry" so much as it is oversenitized zealotry of the PC police. If you make a movie with a really bad guy that is asian or black or jewish or who speaks spanish therefore is a race despite the fact that South America is as diverse as North America then you get pummeled by the interest groups leaving you only bland white people for any truly villianous roles.
So naturally we embrace all anti-fascist movies since it is clear that
Barack Obama is the reincarnation of Benito Musolini. Musolini performed a ritual in Kenya to be able to move on to greatness in the next world. Barack is the result of that.
You cannot argue with me because there is not one economic policy of BHO that is not Musolini's.
