‘Jewish Domination of the Media’: What Will Hollywood Do About Oliver Stone?
by John Nolte
As of this writing, probably because Oliver Stone didn’t direct “The Passion of the Christ,” it doesn’t look as though the usual entertainment media suspects have yet bothered to comment on the troubling statements Stone made about Jews and Israel during his interview with the Sunday Times:
Why such a focus on the Holocaust then? “The Jewish domination of the media,” he says. “There’s a major lobby in the United States. They are hard workers. They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has f***** up United States foreign policy for years.”
Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people, 25 or 30m.”
In a post titled “Mel Gibson and Oliver Stone,” David Bernstein hits the nail on the head:
Gibson was an easy target for Hollywood liberals and leftists. A right-winger and a religious Catholic, Gibson was the perfect manifestation of Hollywood liberals’ stereotypes of anti-Semites.
Stone, by contrast, is a Buddhist leftist of partial Jewish descent, the kind of person the Hollywood left usually thinks of as “one of the good guys.” Stone even was clever enough to follow his anti-Semitic remark about Jewish domination of the media, noted in the context of Hitler and the Holocaust, with some pablum about the Jewish lobby, Israel, and American foreign policy. This had nothing to do with the topic at hand, but Stone’s apologists will inevitably claim that his remarks were aimed at the “Israel lobby,” and not Jews per se.
So, what will it be for Hollywood liberals? Is anti-Semitism only unacceptable when it comes from right-wing Christians, or equally bad when it comes from non-Christian leftists, who add a bit of anti-Israel window dressing?
If the comments in the Sunday Times are correct, don’t expect Oliver Stone to get the Mel Gibson treatment. Gibson’s sin against Hollywood was producing “The Passion of the Christ,” not the vile things that came out of his mouth. After all, this is the same industry that honors, continues to work with, and defends fugitive child rapist Roman Polanski.
As long as your politics are in order, no “Jewish domination of the media” comments can hurt you.

We are through the looking glass people, and it's obvious Stone is unhinged.
Hopefullly, he will keep putting his foot in his big mouth to the point where the MSM cannot ignore him anymore and his Showtime series will be laughed off the air.
his dad was a jewish businessman- and a conservative- and his mother was a French socialist…
That's a recipe for political schizophrenia by anybody's standards. He went to Vietnam as a student teacher first- and retunned as a soldier because 'the poor shouldn't be the only one's fighting this war'.
Noble sentiment. But he was transferred at the Company level several times. That just doesn't happen unless you are a malcontent. Once you bond with your PLATOON you don't leave them. Unless they hate your guts…
Stone is a filmmaker of some gifts. His best film is the trifle 'U-Turn' because it holds up to repeated viewings, unlike his pendantic revisionist histories. He was famous for writing 'Scarface' while imbibing massive amounts of cocaine on a daily basis. Actor James Woods claims he uses viagra like 'M&M's'.
And he really likes dictators. Imagine what an hour on the psychiatrist's couch would be with him…
Oliver's best work was over when he finished working on Conan.
awesome
I just want to say… ever since I became a Christian Conservative, that is when I fully appreciated the history, culture, & foundations of civilization through Judaism. Its direct influence on freedom & liberty, on America and its Founding Fathers, its plight in the Middle East and the world… its humanitarian omega list of do gooders in the fields of medicine and science… now if only I could convert them to Christianity…
Enjoyed Conan.
Aside from needing so many things (like a good kick in the pants), it appears he also needs to use more Toppik shake-on hair. That first shake didn't quite do the trick.
So Oliver Stone likes Hitler, Stalin, Castro, and Chavez? Wow. He sure knows how to pick 'em, doesn't he?
This sort of thing has come up time and time again especially during the obama administration. From what I can see, many jewish people are conflicted when there is a conflict between marxism and the interests of Israel.
My guess is the solution will be to ignore stone's comments. As long as Gibson's golddigger keeps releasing tapes of his rants, stone will be save from scrutiny.
Well, this is an article about jewish matters, and the word filter sends posts with that word in for moderation…
Stone's a peach ain't he?
And I thought I was catty… Me-YOWCH!
I fear leftist Hollywood will be eating up Stone's comments with a spoon. Watch his Showtime series ratings and favorable critiques suddenly soar.
Perhaps Stone could do the movie that shows the real Hitler, the fuhrer with a song in his heart.
Who else could imagine "Springtime for Hitler" done right?
That and his mother dresses him funny.
Per last week's discussions, I don't think the clothing was the reason his mother screwed him up so badly. And I'm going to stop right there.
Anyone check to see if Hugo Chavez has his hand jammed up Stone's backside during these rants? Because that would explain why the two of them are so similar…
you two are bad…
Just because she made him wear shorts with buckle shoes shouldn't have turned him into a paranoid
drug addled conspiracy theorist with a romantic notion of genocidal dictators.
Then again…
It could be a mirror production of "The Music Man", only with guns instead of trombones.
There is more to this than meets the eye. Ollie's too smart to adjitate the Jews with out some ulterior issue at play.
On the one hand, he's "right" that the popular culture is long overdue to consider Hitler in context – i.e. that "evil" doesn't leap fully-formed from the abyss. We present Hitler and the Nazis as something inexplicable that came out of nowhere, mostly because doing so "absolves" everyone else from the part they played: American isolationism and German business-connection, the Hitler-Stalin Pact, the long history of anti-semitism in Europe, the German people themselves and their willingness to be seduced… all "let off the hook" in favor of "evil just happens." No, it doesn't.
On the other hand… "Jewish dominated media?" "Israel Lobby?" Yeah, to hell with this guy. I'm a man of my word – Lifetime Pass: Revoked.
Some one had to throw that one out on the table.
True, but having serious father issues might do it.
My own opinion is the majority of left wing nuts are desperately searching for father figures, who can make all the world's problems go away.
And they see dictators as people doing just that. And the only thing that prevents Castro and Chavez and their likes is the evil, vile, rotten American right.
and it just so happens that it had to be you…
How convenient. But the world did need to know about his sartorial shortcomings as well, we suppose…
Stone has already admitted that he brought back (smuggled) coco leave with him when came back, to the US, after his visit with his bud Hugo. Stone must have brought a bunch of them leaves back and it appears that he's constantly grazing on them.
Sorry, first thing I thought of when I saw the photo was the Jason Alexander character with the hair-from-a-can in Shallow Hal.
Mel Brooks did it right the first time in 1968 with the original "Springtime for Hitler. Oliver Stone(d) could only screw up what was done right the first time!
What, you don't think his mother dresses him funny?
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I've literally seen that movie thousands of times. When ever my buddies and myself got together for a drunken weekend of war gaming, that was on the tube in loop playing it over and over.
We all had the lines memorized. My part was the guy teaching Conan how to fight. The one who says "What is good in life?" I had the "WRONG!" down pat.
Agreed, we are servants of the Lord, not other men. "Let my people go." To me that is God saying no pharaoh, the Hebrews don't belong to you, they belong to me.
If you ask me, the movie Patton does a wonderful job of putting Hitler into context.
Who is the Oliver guy and why are people spending time talking about what he thinks?
And your complaining because I tossed out a momma joke.
If you're interested what is shoved up Stone's back side, you look. I don't want to know.
no doubt on the father issues… he must not have gotten much discipline from dear old dad- ergo the love of dictators…
she did comb his hair for him- that's why he has such a nice 'do….
Agreed. Here is a great place to start.
http://www.amazon.com/Rise-Fall-Third-Reich-Histo...
I started reading it years ago, and never finished, though I can't remember why I stopped.
The first part was a fascinating theory that the only way Hitler could ever have accomplished what he did was when he chose to use his step father's last name.
He said there was no way Germans could ever have been whipped up into the frenzy for war with shouts of "Heil Schicklgruber."
Well, everyone notice that he said "Jews". He didn't say "Zionists". He didn't say "Israelis". He said "Jews".
Even beyond that, HItler IN CONTEXT?
What, precisely, does Oliber Stone imagine the context is?
Oliver Stone suggests we see Hitler, and, by extension, the Nazi era in Germany, in context. The objection, if I understand it, is that if we see Hitler in context, we will vilify him, and the Nazis, less. Well, maybe. I recall Chou En-Lai's response, when asked if he thought the French Revolution was a good thing: "It's too early to tell." I do applaud Mr. Stone's intellectual courage, but it may be too early to apply context to the Hitler / Stalin phenomena.
Or maybe too much, so that now he looks towards a strong father figure to guide the way because he can't do it himself? I don't know, I'm an engineer, not a psychiatrist.
But I have been observing modern liberals, up close, for my entire life. I'm convinced that on some level modern liberalism comes from a dreaded fear of the unknown. Which is why they will swallow anything from any politician who promises to make it all go away.
Another liberal wants the facts to change
So he makes another movie quite strange
Wants to put out his point of view
So his distorted facts on film he does spew
Like Michael Moore, with ideas designed to estrange.
The "holocaust" wasn't only for Jews. Krakow, Poland lost all of its intellectuals, artists, politicians and writers whether they were Jews or not.
Stone is right.
Maybe he can be the director for Dick Wolf's books that he wants to write.
Stone has nothing to worry about .
As long as he keeps grinding out dictator-friendly movies, and sticks his thumb in the eye(s) of conservatives….the Hollywood -lefty-true- believers will continue to scarf down his brand of dis-informtion sausage without comment about context.
Hmmm it seems liberal's in hollywood not only are destroying the family but are also trying to rewrite history. Destroying the family is bad enough but rewriting history is worse almost.
I'm sorry, that is so over abused! I prefer when he's in the gladiator arena and the black dude is gnashing at his neck and he's like… "Aaaarrrrgggggggghhhh…arrrgggghhh…aaaarrrggghhhh…"
They'll give him a pass! Ironically, the Jewish community in Hollywood are so left-wing liberal they'll act against their own best interest time and again!
Argh
My favorite scene is actually in the second movie, near the end, the big battle scene with the evil deity.
Thunder and lightning going off, all heck breaking lose, and Conan stands up on the dais, sword held up high, that short pose before he leaps into battle.
Excuse me? And just what is so bad about wearing shorts with buckle shoes?
His mother did a lot of things for him–a real modern-day Jocasta, if you ask me.
Oh, for Pete's sake, I was implying that he's Hugo's ventriloquist dummy! Get your mind out of the gutter!
Baloshka…Poland lost many of it's finest…at Katyn and other places but the Holocaust was directed at Jewish men, women AND children. There is a difference.
Stone does and says these things for one reason only: publicity. If he were not so controversial, he would fade away since he has not done anything worthwhile since he wrote "Scarface." He is over rated as a director and his grasp of history is even worse.
Ah, William Shirer. Yes, "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" is a classic, one that took me about ten months to read from beginning to end. Read it through if you get a chance. It's not perfect–I think he comes down a little too hard on the German people, even those who opposed Hitler, and there's more than a trace of the Old Left in him. On the other hand, the fact that it was written before the '60s means it avoids the moral relativism that plagues most everything written since then. How many other places will you see the homosexual relationships between many of the early Nazis described as "unnatural"?
So now he's a blow up sex doll?
And you say my mind is in the gutter? Remember, this is supposed to be a family oriented web site.
Come to think of it, I can see Stone on top of his home's roof with a bunch of homing pigeons, telling people that Hitler was a terrific dancer and could paint any room better than than Winston Churchill.
Since you are a bit leftist yourself would you apply the same rules of observation as to how Obama came to be in America? A self-declared socialist? A guy that has managed to deceive so many voters? A person that was propped up wildly by the leftist MSM without a thought of actually vetting his real views on key issues?
I think this is quite interesting. Modern Liberal ideology, as opposed to Classical Liberalism, is ultimately contradictory of itself. Hollywood Liberals will no doubt praise Stone as he throws darts at a Conservative pillar (Israel) while ignoring the elephant in the room that Stone is sounding more like Nixon as he bashes the "Jewish controlled media".
Jews never said the holocaust was for Jews only. Leave it to some god damned bigot like you to think that Stone, another bigot, is right.
a French Catholic socialist- imagine THAT baggage…
sound like Bones on 'Star Trek'…
Dammit, Jim, I'm an engineer- not a psychiatrist'…
Ditto. Of all the people of the Earth, I can think of no group quite so industrious, powerful, and innovative as the Jews. That's probably why everyone else hates them. (And why they hate America too).
Still, I think they could do with a bit of a wake up. American Jews seem to side with the Liberals, and the Liberals are siding with the Muslims. Oh wait, who are the most viscous and rabid anti Semites in the world today? Who are on track to become dominant in Europe by 2050. It sure isnt Neo Nazi's I'll tell you that much.
Likewise, Downfall did a spendid job of putting Hitler into context. He was a lunatic, and his followers were all simpering weaklings.
LOL!
Spriiiingtime for HIiiiitler and Geeermany
Wiiiiinter for Poooland and Fraaaance
I heard anecdotaly that Gibsons movie "Edge of Darkness" was a decidedly Liberal movie, and that Gibson himself is a hard core Right Winger socially but generally liberal in all other matters. Anyone care to confirm or not?…I really have no idea. As I've said before though, say what you will about the man, but he makes on hell of a historical epic.
Not a very good pretense to go off on this guy.
Not really, no.
Getting an entire population of an allegedly civilized nation to go along with an ideology that sounded more like something out of pulp fantasy (master races, blood religion, etc) and bamboozle the rest of the West to not paying proper attention until it was too late is impressive. Almost getting away with genocide is (monstrously) impressive.
Narrowly winning an election mostly on currently-trendy platitudes against an INCREDIBLY unpopular party who didn't even like their own hapless candidate? Being preferable to Hillary as a public face of the party? Kinda-sorta passing about 1/10th of a healthcare agenda after massive, crippling compromise? Not really in the same ballpark.
I have seen it dozens of times–never knew I was part of a larger group doing that. When I was young and hard-living in the summer of 1982, I would party on friday and saturday with a big hangover sunday am. The local theater was walking distance and Conan was maybe $1 to watch the matinee. Spent many a sunday afternoon sweating out a hangover with Ahnold…
I do want to have full disclosure. I've spent a lot of years trying to figure out exactly what makes the far left tick.
And a couple of years ago I decided it had to be a psychological issue. And I didn't feel like spending years learning about psychology just to finally learn its an issue with individuals. So I left it at the strong father figure issue, and moved on.
Oh man, wasn't that an awesome movie?
I was a little freaked out about watching it in the first place, Hitler and nazis give me the willies.
But once I got into it, I couldn't turn it off. The sets, the actors, the costumes, it was riveting. Granted its not for every one. But I thought it was one hell of a movie.
We had it on VHS and would just rewind and hit play every time it got quiet. We used it as a sound track to our games.
>Gibson himself is a hard core Right Winger socially but generally liberal in all other matters.
Well, that's sucking as hard as it's possible to suck.
Don't tell me about what's supposed to be family oriented! You're the one who made the leap from "ventriloquist dummy" to "blow up sex doll"! He may be that, for all I know, but you said it first, so don't even try to turn this around on me.
He's lucky his unit didn't leave him in a position to commit the supreme sacrifice in a loud, violent, honorable, military manner.
Don't have to. I know a Cajun left-winger AND devout Catholic in grad school. It does require some mental gymnastics, no doubt about it.
Just as long as he's able to "Keep It Gay."
…."………….you don't leave them. Unless they hate your guts… "
I hate his guts and I haven't had contact with him except thru his mostly stupid,anti-American movies……
No being a Social and Fiscal Liberal is worse. Trust me, there was a scientific study.
It said Hardest Suckers (Rated in SPM-Sucks per minute)
#1.Social and Fiscal Liberals at 256.89 SPM
Deluded Libertarians who are Social Liberals but Fiscal Conservatives was down at 5 with 128.76 SPM.
This Data comes from the Delaware Institute of Clinical Knowledge and Science, otherwise known as D.I.C.K.S
I can't say about the French part, but I know Catholic socialists inside and out.
The main thrust, in my opinion, is they are deluded into thinking some how that socialism actually helps those in need more than capitalism. There's also a nasty liberation theology streak in the local Franciscans.
I understand why, they want to help the less fortunate. Its just a damn shame they don't understand they're efforts are only making things worse.
Actually its pretty simple.
What they do is transfer their own personal requirement to help the less fortunate to the left wing and democrats, there by believing they are doing their part.
They need to dig a whole lot deeper to see what socialism is really doing to the poor. It exploits them.
he is a libertarian…
Not a conservative in the true sense. Like all libertarians he believes in individual responsibility and no foreign wars. Not hardly radical positions…
How dare you mention that which should not be mentioned!!!!!!!!!
Could be you're right. I think the fear of the unknown is, if not spot on, at least close. In some ways it's a desire for complete control – to have everything exactly the way you want it, no bad things, no hurtful things, no unfairness, no…reality. It also seems like adolescent rebellion – which is another way of saying you want things all your own way, etc. The world is big and yucky and they want no part of it if it's going to be like this. Unless it changes to suit them, they will never be content.
I don't know – people throughout history have worked to "change the world." It's what humans do. We just can't agree on how the world should be changed or the rate of change that's really necessary. I think conservatives are able to look at the world as a whole and say "It's not perfect, but it'll do." Whereas a liberal could probably go to Heaven and find something criticize and protest about.
Maybe that's another difference. Liberals are perfectionists, conservatives are not.
Ultimately, as you say, it's about individual personalities. And there's no way to account for or predict individual personalities. We can come up with ballpark theories to explain why one person is a liberal while another is a conservative while another still is Oliver Stone. Those theories are never quite adequate. People continue to surprise us.
What will Hollywood do about Oliver Stoned? Simple. Absolutely nothing (except to defend him)!
Because during the war gaming, my character was the groups point man, a barbarian I modeled after Conan.
That one pose is pretty much a copy of the pewter figure I used.
Interesting thought.
I think this is also what got me more interested in libertarianism. If we have different views on how the world should be, do I have the moral authority to force you to agree with me?
Modern liberals believe, absolutely, what ever is required to order the world according to their view.
To which I say, the constitution says we are all equal and free, so unless some one is harming some one else, I say let them do what ever they want.
As long as they aren't harming some third party, let people do what ever they want, and if I don't like it, too bad for me.
it's all about context, Rav- so while nothing wrong in the abstract about those sartorial choices, when one figures in thee whole socialist scizoid personality, well then…
it's all about context, Rav- so while nothing wrong in the abstract about those sartorial choices, when one figures in thee whole socialist scizoid personality, well then…
from what we were able to dig up on it-(it was when Platoon came out) he was extremely difficult to get along with, and didn't take orders well.
Sounds about right…
True, MB. And I'd say the fact that you are able to list so many of the conditions upon which Hitler's rise to power depended, means the whole world already knows where Hitler came from. You're right: "Hitler was evil" is some sort of pop culture formulation. It doesn't say anything useful. I don't even know what it means.
But I'm not sure Oliver Stone is the person I want "contextualizing" history for me. He is a crackpot amateur, and a deluded narcissist. People (including some brilliant people) have been studying and writing about WWII for 65 years. I can't even imagine how many books and papers (not to mention movies, documentaries and TV shows) have been produced about that conflict. And after all that, along comes Oliver, gonna totally blow our MINDS with his stunning new analysis of the secret Nazi/Big Business conspiracy! I wish he would just spare us his bullshit.
He doesn't have any intellectual courage. He's like a man who doesn't know anything about guns, bullets, wars or death wandering around in the middle of a battle. Not courage – just ignorance.
My favorite part of the movie . . . is the scathing review of it Gary Gygax wrote in a long lost copy of Ares magazine.
That, and Max von Sydow saying "Yesterday they were just another snake cult, now they're all over the place!"
And of course because it gave rise to the Evil Overlord List entry "I will not turn into a giant snake, it never helps."
As good as the portrayal of Hitler was the portrayal of Goebeels was even better.
That man was a fool and a weakling through and through.
Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom… so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!
Oliver Who?
The Jewish people are the greatest of humanitarians, as well. If you factor this in with the Demonrat lie that their party is the party of the oppressed (the poor, the minorities) and the libturd lie that libturds care about the underdogs and the downtrodden, you may have your answer as to why the majority of American Jews tend to vote Demonrat. The remainder of the American Jews who side with the enemies of their people, even cheering on the so-called Palestinians, are the self-hating Jewicidals.
For what it's worth, not all American Jews have been fooled by Demonrats and libturds. (Visit Pamela Geller's Atlas Shrugs blog, Big Peace, and the Bare Naked Islam blog to read what conservative Jews have to say about "stuff.") And there's a growing group of American Jews who voted Demonrat for the last time in Nov 2008.
The words "smarmy" and "sleazy" come to mind when I see photos of Oliver Stone.
With idols such as those Stone has the makings of a good progressive. My bad. He already is.
