Hollywood Courage: Tom Hanks Fawns Over Obama, Slams Fox News on…MSNBC
by John NolteWatch the video (full segment is here). Some of it’s just strange. Hanks hand-wrings over parents not being able to get their kids to the hospital if GM is no longer in business. At least that’s what I think he says, because when you live in a bubble where no one ever says ‘Huh?,” much less challenges you, those are the kinds of things you start to say and believe. Scary.
And when Hanks speaks of a propaganda network doing the President’s bidding, does he not see the irony of his being on MSNBC? The day before he was on Good Morning America. Really, Tom, no irony at all as you do the Obama Propaganda Network Tour?
The Oscar-winner then says that citizens should be stewards to the political process, which can only mean that the same man who produced the spectacular HBO mini-series “John Adams” doesn’t appear to have watched it.
Friday night Bill O’Reilly called Hanks out for being a cowardly political bomb-thrower who fires away at Fox News and the right in general but refuses to go into a situation where he’ll face any kind of challenge, like “The O’Reilly Factor.”
Come on, Tom, you started this scrap. Come out from behind your legion of publicists. Are you really gonna hide behind MSNBC’s skirts all your life or do you have enough confidence in your arguments to face something a little tougher than the starstruck soft-balling on ”Morning Joe?”

How does this man stay ignorant? And how does he get so passionate about his ignorance? He knows so little, it's a good thing other people write words for him to say.
That's the trouble with some actors in Hollywood. If they play smart characters a couple of times they start to actually believe they are smart as well. I guess it just proves if you lie to yourself enough times, you eventually believe it.
he desperately wants another oscar he desperately needs the validation, bashing any conservative is the easiest way to get noticed by his peers also this is the easiest way to avoid the screaming agonizing death of sean penns rectal cancer.
Well one thing for sure Hanks saying Obama is a WISE MAN says more about Hanks intelligence and or liberal partisanship than it does OBAMA ,a weak inept and radical partisan divider, mental capabilities. I never did care for the guy as an actor and care less for him as a liberal whiner and sniper.
Tom Hanks can never and will never be Jimmy Stewart.
Alienating at least half of America is not a good career move Tommy Baby. Your a good actor in the right part but not that good .Think about it.
Remember when you were a teenager? Remember how badly you wanted to be cool? If you were one of the cool ones (and I was), you had to make damned sure you didn't screw up and make an ass of yourself. How you waited to be sure whatever you did or said was approved of by the pack?
If you were one of the uncool ones, you had to make damned sure you said what you thought the cool kids would say. And you sure didn't want to say anything that might make you even more uncool that you were.
Well, Hollywoodites are arrested development teenagers, even those as old as Tom Hanks. It's "uncool" to be a Republican; it's "cool" to like Obama. And MAN, how cool is it to say something all the coolies (pun intended) will applaud. And so he did.
Hanks is a non-entity; a 14 year old mind stuck in an adult's body. And you thought he was acting when he played "Forrest Gump". Joke's on you!
How stupid can liberals get? They're so afflicted by Fox News Derangement Syndrome just because the network happens to give the right a fair shake.
Fox News has that demented leftist Sheppard Smith on for three hours in the middle of the day, and Geraldo Rivera has his own show. There's a gaggle of leftist contributers, and Bill O'Reilly, who's a certified populist blowhard.
Glenn Beck is more concerned with his book sales (by Friday's show was PRICELESS), leaving Sean Hannity as the only true conservative on the network.
Hanks has just shown he's a detached Hollywood weirdo, who's obviously not interested in promoting his project to an actual audience, nor does he understand his own opinion enough to actually debate someone on Fox News.
What a coward.
I wonder if Tom Hanks would have the same opinion of Obama, if the president went after the obscene amounts of money Mr. Hanks makes per picture as he does the bonuses of the CEO's on Wall Street.
I have no problem with Hollywoodys expressing their views, but I do have a problem with progressive brain effluent contaminating my space. I'm tired of supporting these cretins with my money.
Adding Mr. Hanks to my black list.
"…because when you live in a bubble where no one ever says ‘Huh?,” much less challenges you, those are the kinds of things you start to say and believe. Scary."
That's how.
Airheads like Tom Hanks and the deranged leftwing goons at MSLSD dont realize theyre providing a service to Conservatives/Republicans/FOX News. After a year of liberalism on parade Americans are revolted and are throwing these leftwing jackals out of office. Hussein has shown to be an incompetent, an economic illiterate, a foreign policy ignoramus and a far leftwing ideologue. Americans are realizing Hussein is not that bright and is in over his head. Yet here we have these leftwing bootlickers displaying what committed sycophants they are. With every swipe they take at the right instead of focusing on real news they reveal that theyre simply unprofessional partisan hacks, not serious reporters in the least and the ratings reflect this. Americans are tired of the juvenile mudslinging by these mental defective democrats, which is why theres an exodus of independents from the left moving to the Right
The fact this guy is considered one of our top actors tells you all you need to know.He has the presence of a turnip.
Lets look at the downside for Hanks should he have a reawakening.
His wife would divorce him.
the Speilbergs and his ilk of the world would shun him
No more parts written specifically for him
There go the best tables at any resturant
Oscar telecast would shun him.
Millions in salary will disappear.
At some future Academy Awards event should his body of work be mentioned everyone
will remain seated when the applause sign lights up. except possibly Mr Nolte
who sits or stands at peculiar times.
Worst cut of all, no more letterman late night appearances.
If I were him I would not change a thing and just keep on voting conservative.
I don't know why anyone would expect anything more of this candy ass, Tom Hanks. When they started referring to him as "The Everyman" and the "New James Stewart" I cringed. James Stewart actually went to war (for real) he actually wore a uniform and stood at the ready. Hanks just "play dated" it . I thought that "New James Stewart" tag was a slap in the face to a real man! Tom Hanks isn't even man enough to be referred to as "The New Martha Stewart" Everytume I ever seem this guy on a stage he was bawlin' about something. I watched him on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show one year blubbering over a rock band. The guy's a whench. He belongs over there. he and Olbermann can play footsy under the table while Matthews sits and watches with excited "stuff" and those little tingles that are always coming and going up and down his leg.
I agree with Growltiger's assessment of Hollywood as arrested development teenagers. Teenagers in adult bodies that just happen to have millions of dollars and access to the public.
Mr. Hanks knows where his bread is buttered. If you go against the groupthink of Hollywood you risk being ostracized.
"14 year old mind stuck in an adult body"?Sounds like 'Big'.
You know I'm 52 years old and I've been hearing about the same so called "stars" for the last 20 years and the it was nice at the beginning of their career but that's how it's been for everything in this country. I went to government schools which was a joke and nothing made sense it didn't mean anything. Not any of these award shows or all the bickering and corruption of our politics because until this year I realized I didn't know our country's real history. After reading and more reading realized what these progressive beliefs have done to this country which it has depressed us and taken away our spirit. Nothing meant anything besides my belief in God which held me through all those years but I saw what it could be with what our founding fathers designed for us with the constitution and it would be the best of the best. So what all these celebrities are doing now is nothing new or exciting is it really?? the same old same old. On top of it all they don't even like us! Well I feel the same about them, until I see some real progress from all these people not them defending something that has been tried 70 years ago and has failed and is so ugly and evil or rewriting the same old movies and tv shows, why? I think I'm not alone in what I think and see, enough already. I like what Sarah had written on her hand "lift American spirits" we so need that right now don't you think. I am sure all we will hear on this show is about Obama's hc bill which is a royal mess and will only harm us, so good luck to the people who truly deserve whatever. I will be spending my time working with people that actually like me and need me which in return I will feel the same about them, you should try it it's called volunteering. I wonder if they will mention Haiti or Chile? I hope so.
Darn that Fox News. If it would just go away, so would all the world's problems.
Funny thing is, Fox isn't particularly conservative, they're just not flaming left wingers. Really, how right wing could they be with Greta, Geraldo and Alan Combs?
Dare I say it ?!?….Hanks has jumped the shark – he really is that naive child in a man's body he played in "Big".
Physically, Hanks is looking more and more like Bill Maher.
And, he sounds more and more like Bill Maher.
Wierd.
Hitler knew a thing or two about passionate ignorance… Just sayin'
So, a "wise man" is a sophomore senator who rose from being a community organizer. What a sniveling coward, running his mouth in front of the human laugh tracks at MSNBC.
you mean, to compete with the grunts and whines of sean penns r.c.
Stunning. Showered with all the blessings this great nation has bestowed upon him and this is what he gives in return. How can we now be sure these HBO specials he has made, or will make, are not revisionist, based upon this paltry performance. Actors forget, "The world is a stage." We are all watching, all the time, even when they are not in front of a camera. That is the price they pay for rich blessings from the people. To actively choose to step in front of the camera and politically shoot one's self in both knee caps is remarkable. My motto, "Develop character, don't become one." Tom Hanks, you have me stunned.
Too late.
A network to do the president's bidding…
You mean like MSNBC?
Hanks is a coward who has made a fortune playing heroes and "Everyman" in films. Just remember, he grew up in Oakland and had the best public education the People's Republic of the Bay Area could provide.
No one really cares what Hanks has to say. He goes where he can say his liberal views and he won't be called out for it. Thank goodness we do have FOX news.
How true. They provide the little bullets we fire from our guns of logic.
"James Stewart actually went to war (for real)"
I'm afraid Hanks thinks his war against FoxNews puts him in the same league.
wait, wait, wait, wait….are you saying Tom Hanks is just another wacky liberal actor he can't keep his mouth shut??? Color me not surprised in the least.
FYI: you don't get to a Tom Hanks status in Hollywood without worshiping and groveling at the throne of socialism, Obamaism and any other left-wing ism they deem important.
"Remember when you were a teenager? Remember how badly you wanted to be cool? If you were one of the cool ones (and I was), you had to make damned sure you didn't screw up and make an ass of yourself. How you waited to be sure whatever you did or said was approved of by the pack?
If you were one of the uncool ones, you had to make damned sure you said what you thought the cool kids would say. And you sure didn't want to say anything that might make you even more uncool that you were."
I guess I was an independent before it was "cool." I was one of the "uncool" kids, but once I hit junior high I never gave a rat's patooty what the cool kids thought of me. I just decided to do what was right, to be nice and friendly; if anyone liked me for that, great, if not, so what. It made me ready for adulthood better than trying to fit in. It's just the same now politically. I try to vote and stand up for what is "right;" those who don't like that can jump in a lake. I wish more people in the public eye would act the same way.
Cut him some slack. It's hard to think with a terminal brain cloud.
Ditto.
Unfortunately, the list is getting longer – not shorter. I'm saving a LOT of money by not going to the movies these days. Here's where I give thanks for my mother – who taught me to read and appreciate books.
If he really was voting conservative, he could just keep his mouth shut and none of the downsides listed would happen to him. But he's not conservative, so there is no risk to speak out.
Reminds me of when Clooney was on a press junket for one of his movies. He said, "I have to tour to promote my movies. I have it so much tougher than the old stars like Clark Gable." I wanted to punch the little punk in the mouth. You mean, the Clark Gable who flew bombing missions over Germany? You mean the Clark Gable who lost his wife when her plane crashed while she was flying around the country to promote war bonds? Is that the Clark Gable who had it so much easier than you, you lousy little powdered princess?
Greta's pretty tough on Barry. Since she moved away from being All Dead Blondes, All the Time, I kind of like her. Plus, I think she has a little crush on Rush.
I would love to see it, but it'll never happen.
You and me both. Ain't the public library great?
"Obama Propaganda Network"
Perhaps John Nolte skipped Math class, or perhaps his Obama Derangement Syndrome is causing him some problems with simple addition.
'Morning Joe' runs from 6 to 9 every weekday morning, no other host has that much time on the air as Scarborough. He gets 15 hours a week to bash Obama(and anyone else Scarborough considers too liberal). His supporting cast (Barnicle,Brezinski,Geist) agree with him more often than not. He's on the network more hours than anyone else on that network(that's not including his occasional appearances on MSNBC Live, such as this morning.
Please Nolte, tell me what liberal host gets 15 hours a week on Fox to bash republicans, I'd like to know so I can watch it!
Whoa. Let me get this straight. Hanks was actually saying that Obama did NOT have a "propaganda piece"" network working for him? Oh, man, this is SO going to be news to the leg-tinglers and 'he's like a God' reporters out there. And calling Obama 'partisan' is SO going to be news to Rep. Ryan watching Obama flip him the bird for disagreeing with the healthcare plan? Oh, my God. What kool aid is this guy drinking?
One thing though – it was hilarious watching Hanks give this hysterical example of stupid Republicans refusing to pass a bill, enact legislation, or do a single thing – those damned dumb Republicans. Only for the announcer to say 'uh, your example is a Democrat'. Cute watching Hanks deflate like a kicked souffle. (Which is accurate for someone's who full of hot air.)
Ah.. you're making me miss old Hollywood more than ever. How can anyone compare soppy old Tom Hanks to stand up guy James Stewart?
You're right! Actually, he was more manly in that film than he is in real life now.
[...] I wasn’t sure if there was anything I could add to the debate that John Nolte hasn’t already said. [...]
"Please Nolte, tell me what liberal host gets 15 hours a week on Fox to bash republicans, I'd like to know so I can watch it! "
Hello! John! When is that show on? Please answer the simple question.
"James Stewart actually went to war (for real) he actually wore a uniform and stood at the ready." Reagan and John Wayne just played solider too. all talk no bawls these guys.
he started getting more vocal right after he worked with Paul Newman on that gangster movie a few years ago. Newman was a far-left loon and would bring him all kinds of articles from Mother Jones and The Nation and other similar commie publications to read. he talked about this in an interview when doing press for that movie. since then, he's also filmed 2 outrageously anti-Catholic movies. so, yes, he's clearly positioning himself for a lifetime achievement oscar.
i'll buy The Pacific on DVD, but that's it. i wouldn't cross the street to piss on Tom Hanks if he were on fire.
Sean Hannity is a poor man's Limbaugh. i find him almost impossible to listen to these days. he misses lots of slam dunk arguments when he debates his liberal callers. also, he says the word "literally" about 3 times a minute, and he uses the really awkward phrase "great specificity" only slightly less frequently. it gets on my nerves that same way listening to Jesse Jackson speak gets on my nerves. Glenn Beck has his moments, but the weepy end-of-the-world-is-near tone of his show has gotten old. when he's clowning around with his co-hosts, he's much better. but when he's preaching to his audience, i tune him out.
Hanks is just another of those people not really affected by anything that happens in DC. They're all for such things as universal healthcare, but it doesn't affect them. They can just get on a plane and go to Switzerland or wherever to get the services and specialists they require. None of that waiting in line for months; none of that worry about a doctor going over the new imposed "budget" that means many won't get the surgeries or treatments otherwise given. It's really disgusting.
You confine your argument to Fox News because you;re just another dishonest leftie trying to ignore that you live in a world where 24/7 liberalism on CNN doesn't exist. Or the 75 hours of liberalism we get from the nets on their news and morning shows; or NY TIMES, WAPO, POLITICO, NPR, PBS, all but a few universities,,, all of Pop Culture…
If I had such a bad argument I guess I'd play rhetorical tricks to.
All you got.
Do you even watch Morning Joe?
Scarborough rarely goes after Obama. He'll take on congressional Dems once in a while, but not The One. And you mentioned Barnicle, who is a huge Obama backer (and fan of Dems in general). Mika slants to the left and Geist is just a big nothing.
And it's always hilarious when Libs somehow try to portray the media as anything but a huge advantage for Obama and the Dems. The Left has ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, and the entire entertainment establishment (Hollywood, etc). Conservatives have Fox News and talk radio. Wow, fair fight there.
I guess Hanks needs a little couch time. Either that or is frustrated no parts have been offered lately. Every time he opens his mouth he's becoming a bumbling idiot. Used to be a fan but he's way over the top and needs to seek help.
let me guess "band of brothers" is anti USA and anti Troop. phony outrage served daily at the BIGs.

No more Matt Damon movies. Check. No more Sean Penn movies.Check. No more Tom Hanks movies. Check.
maybe they sleep in the same bed and play with each others bits…
He'll never figure out how detached from reality he is because no one will ever disagree with him. He's the worst kind of sheltered. I feel sorry for him.
Poor Tom. He hasn't had much work lately and this is basically an "I'm still here!" interview. Of course, being the cowardly left wing bot that he is, he has to toe the Hollywood lefty line. How could he do otherwise? He's desperate to remain relevant
Oh, and Tom's getting old too. That's the Hollywood death knell. Soon, he'll be looking like Mickey Rourke. LOL
BRAVO Sammy….. I doubt it could be said any better!
Hollywood stars like hanks live in a bubble, but to a lesser degree so do many liberals. As a conservative in America it is impossible to avoid liberal opinion. We breathe it in every day through education, newspapers, popular culture, and TV news. They must actively seek out conservative opinion.
Another Hollywood chameleon-boy graces us with his stunning insight. He should stick to movies, documentaries, etc and stop playing Obama's buttboy.
Stupid is as stupid does…
Hannity's been difficult to listen to for the longest time.
As for Glenn Beck, that's why we hang out on the Insider Boards: lots of sarcasm and humor from the Insiders just to make it through nearly three hours of "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!! PREPARE YOUR HOUSEHOLD NOW!" on a daily basis.
The wealth of these Hollywood millionaires protects and shields them from the consequences of socialism. They keep most of their money and assets offshore, where the IRS can't see it. They have so much money that whatever taxes they do pay will not influence their lifestyle or where they will send their kids to college. As always, the ordinary working people, not people like Hanks, are the who must pay for the socialist goodies and bare the burden so freeloaders and illegals can enjoy a free lunch and smug millionaires can feel morally superior.
If Obama's team ever find a way to pass socialized medicine in this country, don't expect to find Tom Hanks sitting all day with you in the public clinic waiting room in order to spend six minutes with an overworked, underpaid physician. He will be seeing his private physician in a Mexican or Caribbean facility built for wealthy Americans and Canadians. Obamacare will be for the peons like you and me.
I don't watch Greta much, but I have noticed that she seems to lean more our way lately. I saw a show last year where she really went after some man criticizing Sarah Palin.
Great article on Hollywood Conservatives…click the link
http://www.flashreport.org/featured-columns-libra...
And yet here you are in the BigWorld audience -strange – thanks for driving up the page views, you lying leftist troll
Hanks, at best, is a cut-rate Van Johnson…
"It's nice to be nice." – Mammy Yokum, in the "L'il Abner" comic strip
Gotta love the part about the little kids with 104 degree temperature being prevented from getting to a hospital. It's totally untrue, doesn't make a lick of sense, and he probably has never even heard of an actual documented case of a kid with a 104 degree temp being prevented from going to a hospital. It certainly never happened it Beverly Hills. But he through it out there just to make it appear that both he and Obama care so much about these poor, helpless, non-existent children with fevers that usually don't warrant a trip to the hospital anyway.
Without live human props to wheel out at photo ops and exploit for their own political gain, liberals are forced to simply make them up.
You should give her a try. She was really mocking stimulus last year and she has Stephen Moore on almost every night and Santorum on frequently. She loves playing Rush on the dittocam. Since she did a big sit-down with Sarah Palin in 2008, I think she's kind of protective of her.
Didn't Tom Hanks get his start as a cross dresser? Bosom Buddies was the show wasn't it?
Sorry, Hanks is an actor but I do not apply the word genius to any actor. There is no such thing as a genius actor.
Hanks is an actor, his job is to play other people.
How can we take anything he says seriously.
I dunno. I think age is mostly a death knell for actresses, not necessarily actors. Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, and Bruce Willis are doing well. Perhaps it's age-related dementia that's affecting Mr. Hanks.
And if they ever accidentally hear a conservative opinion, they behave as if someone had called called for an assassination or had called them a horrible, degrading name. (Which, of course, is what we tend to hear from the left.)
Clooney or Hanks are not worthy enough to stand in Clark Gable's shadow.
Hanks is called a "decent Democrat" in the article. I guess that's over with, now.
Go home and have another drink or 10, Tom. Stick with what you know. Leave the cerebral stuff to someone that still has an intellect….your brain has atrophied because you don't have to use it since you surround yourself with people that stroke your ego and tell you that you are "smart". Yeah. Smart like Forrest Gump.
There is whispered to be some Hollywood folks who talk the lib talk, but vote conservative. It is said they do so out of fear of not working if their true feelings were made known.
Never go full retard, Tom.
Hey Hanks…there's no crying in politics!
PMSnbc
Well, my goodness! Ms. Streep says The Obama is her IDOL.
Remember that if justice prevails and Bullock wins the Oscar!
At a certain level of FILTHY RICH, they just don't care anymore.
Another actor outside the circle of trust. No more money goes to him. I will miss his movies.
Who's next?
If you could get projects green-lighted and win roles by smearing honey on your naked body and rolling around in feathers ~ nearly everyone in Hollywood would look like a demented bird!
Two words to add: Gary Sinise!
Boy, have you got that right! They love to spend OUR money!
At a certain level of wealth, celebrities all seem to fall down the rabbithole.
For some reason, they start to feel guilty about being so wealthy.
*gags* Tom Hanks met his expiration date years ago. He can take his 2 Oscars and put them up his bloated ….
Yes, I was being a bit facetious, I said if I were him.
We certainly know who he is.
Dear Tom,
Make your movies and shut up. Thank you.
Signed,
America.
Stephen Moore in 2012, I say.
Someone ask Tom Hanks why people are dying in England, Canada and every other socialist gov't run hospital that should never have died.

A 22 year old man died of dehydration – lack of WATER!! while at a socialist hospital in England. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1255858/N...

From article – this is what is in store for us:
The tragedy emerged a week after a report into hundreds of deaths at Stafford Hospital revealed the appalling quality of care given by many of the nurse.
Obama, a wise man? Riiight. No, Tom, a wise man is Allen West – who will be our next president:

Another high school drop out (or near drop out) fawning on Obama who blasts the economy and capitalism that was a nice vehicle for him to make the money to buy a 26 million $$$ home in Pacific Palisades?
Eh, typical Follywooder.
mee too. mental list. I keep it updated and stick to it. Hanks slams me and mine and then buys muti-zillion dollar homes with my help, I don't think so.
yup. good people.
