Because if Commiewood re-makes those classics, they'll turn them into liberal propaganda just as they did for Manchurian Candidate and a dozen others. Mr. Smith and Wonderful Life cannot be improved upon, and should be left alone. Besides, Jimmy Stuart was an American hero who joined the military at the age of 40 because he couldn't stand by and not pitch in. There is no equal in Hollywood today.

IMDB:
He held the highest active military rank of any actor in history. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps and rose to the rank of colonel; after the War, he continued in the US Air Force Reserve becoming a brigadier general (1- star). When Jimmy left to serve in WWII, his father gave him a letter which he kept in his pocket everyday until the war ended.

Can you imagine George Clooney or Sean Penn or Tim Robbins or any of the pretentious, flatulent , self-righteous leftists joining the Army? The only one I can think of who is even close to having the guts and honor of a Jimmy Stuart is Denzel Washington, who is passionate about supporting the troops, and a Conservative.

Okay, your grammar's improved a bit. You fare better in short bursts, "academic".

Here's the bottom line: if you've accomplished nothing in life, then you deserve nothing in life, not even the respect to be taken seriously on your own blog. That's how it works.

I love love love "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". And the first time I saw it was actually in a public High school in an extremely liberal school. *gasps* It just shows that good movies are actually appreciated by most people and Jimmy Stewart resonates with everyone. I love him too of course. Its a Wonderful Life is another favorite.

I don't like colorized black& white movies though. I get used to the black and white after the first few minutes of watching it.

Hey I love pbs. It brings me the movies on Masterpiece. I watch almost everything from Masterpiece. It is commercial free and on every Sunday night. And British movies/series seem to be a bit more creative and better acted/written than U.S. ones anyway. But I could be biased. I just love it.

I watch nothing else that pbs shows though.

And your reading comprehension is pathetic, if you parsed my earlier post as asserting that I am an academic.

Moore is a liar. One doesn't need to claim 'accomplishments' (on whatever scale) to identify him as a teller of untruths.

I really could care less about the idiotic political ideology that goes on either side.
I care for it so little that I'm not even going to write another sentence on that matter.

My point is simple: Michael Moore is an extremely accomplished film maker, and here you have Nolte blogging that Moore is a failure, pretending to be an authority on the matter, but the truth is that Nolte's insignificant to the movie industry, isn't at all an authority on anything, and is basically worthless.

I also disagree that what's behind Nolte's blog is "Schadenfreude" as you've suggested, but rather a failed film maker's unchecked envy of the monumental accomplishments of Michael Moore.

Your grammar is horrible, and your punctuation completely erratic. Pardon my skepticism about your claim about being an academic "focused on logic and rhetoric".

Anyhow, you, just as Nolte, may have whatever opinion you wish without a single accomplishment in life. Just don't expect your opinion to have any real authority, meaning, or credibility, which Nolte and you none of.

Congratulations Mr. Nolte on the end of Michael Moore's career. One less liberal to mess up our world.
