PRESENTING: The ‘Fourth Graders For Obama’ YouTube Channel
by John NolteHere’s a little mid-week scare courtesy of the 4thgraders4obama YouTube Channel. (Don’t waste your time — I searched high and low and no luck finding the 4thgraders4bush YouTube Channel.) Yes, you read that right, an entire portal filled with nearly a dozen videos devoted to nine and ten year-olds singing, speaking and in general, getting awfully excited over a politician on the brink of having us all long for the good old days of Jimmy Carter. Here’s a taste:
–
The programmer teacher is Ms. Clark (she makes a short appearance here), but there wasn’t anything that identified the actual school. In last week’s Elementary Epidemic you saw a mix of Obama-enthusiasm. Some of the videotaped students were reminiscent of POWs speaking against their will on camera as they blink a Morse code plea for help, others were truly excited — and it’s the excited ones that are most worrisome. They’re gone. Lost forever… Ms. Clark’s entire class is like that.
The 4thgraders4obama videos do give us a broader glimpse into the methodology at work in our nation’s classrooms. In a couple of the videos you’ll see the kids watching President Obama on television and the whole class is as giddy as though they were in line for Space Mountain. Other videos have the kids standing before the camera reading what sounds like love letters to the First Family. Public or private school — that makes no difference. You don’t do this to young minds. There’s a wide berth between infusing your children with values and this.
In other news…
Nine of the eleven school children videos posted just a few days ago have been completely scrubbed from YouTube, one other can no longer be embedded, leaving one to assume that the sole survivor hasn’t caught on yet. Just last week the Obama-worship flew proudly and publicly, but as they say … sunlight is the best disinfectant.
The most confusing scrub is the newly christened Barack Obama Elementary School… Why remove their school song? Yeah, sure, with all its platitudes and soaring to nowhere-ness it sounded like a discarded tune from Disney’s direct-to-DVD: “Aladdin 5: Tired of Robin Williams’ Schtick.” But it is the school song, for crying out loud…
We should, however, all be grateful Gotham Avenue School hit the delete button. For a couple weeks now, we believe in Barack Obama, he loves you and he loves your mama has been stuck in my head unlike anything since “The Girl From Ipanema.”
Giffen Elementary scrubbed both their videos, but not before Accuracy In Media took a closer look, not only at the videos, but at all the creepy goings on throughout the school district to brainwash that unfortunate captive audience into the Cult of O:
It turns out that Nolte’s GME [Giffen Memorial Elementary] videos are just the tip of the iceberg for the Obama love shown by the City School District of Albany, which oversees this and other schools. According to the District’s Education Board minutes from January and February, the school district appears to have centrally coordinated, if not managed, a district-wide celebration of President Obama’s inauguration. “On Tuesday, January 20, 2009, the inauguration of Barack Obama will be celebrated in all of the District’s school communities,” states the former document.
Be sure to read the whole horrifying thing.
Even more horrifying is this thought: What haven’t we seen? What hasn’t gone public? These are performances someone had to take the time to both film and upload to YouTube. It’s not a stretch to imagine that this abuse of young captive minds is far more widespread than just the 15 or so videos that have been brought to light thus far.
We believe in Barack Obama, he loves you and he loves your mama. Catchy.

OMG Here's what the "teacher" wrote: This was a lesson on the Inaguration. I had the students write their own song about the swearing in ceramony, then perform it!
Yikes!
Leftist Down-the-Memory-Hole scrubbing is no less scary than the creepy indoctrination videos themselves, maybe even more so.
Is anyone capturing and saving these gems for posterity elsewhere?
I can't decide what is worse. . . the indoctrination or the piss poor job they are doing at it. At the very least can we not demand that the grammer, musical content, and choreography be top quality? I mean really!! I f you are going to have kids writting songs etc. in praise of Obama why not make them at least follow proper forms of grammar, poetry, music, and dance. . . . sheesh.

I have relatives who grew up in pre and wartime europe and they're afraid. I guess they would know.
Bad spelling, questionable grammar, and a complete lack of ethics… Sounds like a real catch.
Having taught in an urban school for 7 years now, I can tell you that the sort of working conditions we have attract pretty much only two types: missionaries, and those who can't get a job elsewhere. Even without unions, urban districts would be loathe to fire anyone; it often takes months just to get another warm body in the classroom.
I wonder, however, how much of the scrubbing is a legal issue. Did any of the parents give permission for the recording?
What a shame. These children are still stuck on the plantation with no idea what freedom or the ability to think for themselves is.
These "teachers" doing this sort of thing need to be fired. However since the schools are so liberal in their views anymore they wont be. IMO the entire school system is in collusion with the Marxists who want to take over our country. There is NO way in HELLo I would have a kid in todays school system.
John:
I wonder if we are over thinking this one a little bit. It seems that most of these videos show little black girls and boys celebrating the fact that one of their own has become the POTUS. Sort of like a New Yorker celebrating the World Series. When the black community gets excited about something, they sing and dance about it.
Now, the scarier parts of this phemnominon, is that instead of focusing on why this country is great and why Obama could never have become the leader of any other country (he said so himself), these songs are simply hero worship that show a scary amount of devotion to one man.
At any given of world history, about 1/3 of a country's population is willing to have a monarch rather than a republic. This was true during the American Revolution, I believe it is true today. Some people want to be led by a supreme leader. I don't believe these videos show indoctrination as much as it is simply a glimpse into another world (and mindset) that we have not seen in our recent history. It has always been there, we are just seeing it revealed with Obama in the white house.
[...] Read it. [...]
Yeah, this is a big no-no. If pursued by the parents, it's a career killer for teachers and administrators.
I completely get why black students would want to celebrate the election of the first black president, but this isn't about race. Not for a second do I believe we would be seeing these videos if Condi Rice or JC Watts had won the presidency.
This is about Leftist identity politics.
John, I admire your intestinal fortitude, as I couldn't stomach watching these videos.
Walker_Lewis, there's a lot in your post that I agree with.
The thing is, that hero-worship/wish for a king stuff was usually very deeply hidden in people's minds. Sure, people in the US have wanted a supreme leader at various moments, but they never felt real confident in talking about it in blunt terms. The smarter ones would couch their desires in fuzzy talk and vagueries.
With the rise of the Obamessiah, citizens feel a lot more brave about voicing their yearning for a king. That's what makes these kiddie indoctrination vids so scary, at least in my opinion anyway.
I disagree. If Condi Rice or JC Watts had won the presidency preaching hope or change and transformation then there would have been videos of kids singing. And, Rice or Watts could have been principled, conservative leaders with their ACTIONS. It would not have mattered as long as they spoke like Obama, there would be songs written. So my point is that it is the inspiration of words that have gotten most of these educational folks (adults and children) excited about his presidency. Obama could be as "right-wing" as Bush in his actions/decisions as long as he orated well and waxed poetic about hope and change.
In other words, I don't believe these videos represent as much about a leftist agenda as Acorn, SEIU, Podesta, Soros, etc. do. But that's is just an opinion. I could be wrong.
Oh, believe me, the parents have them, I'm sure. It will make a nice video scrapbook at a later date, when at a party the family gathers round the tv to look at highlights of the kid's life- When the kid is 21 years old and spiritually broken under a camel's load of national debt.
Stunning. This is the shoddy quality of the Corporatist Vision of the Democrats. Big Government allied with Big Unions and liberal "good" intentions..
Can you imagine what GM auto's are going to be like in 10 years?
Teacher = Union = No Firing.
I have to agree with John. These are not spontaneous songs about a great guy. These are children being directed by members of a union, that has a radical agenda, to promote hero worship. Obama's race gives them a vehicle to do so, protected by deflecting criticism as racism. The union members would have no impetus to promote the celebration of a president who did not embrace the cause of union hegemony over education and industry. Condi Rice would be seen as a race-traitor and war-monger by these people, and drawing pictures depicting her as a monkey on a chain would be the classroom activity of the day.
Barack Obama, he loves you and he loves your mama
Too bad those records are sealed…Barack, did you fail English comprehension? The word is philanthropist, not philanderist.
We've seen similar reactions on the left in the past, especially with the 'savior' halo placed on FDR during the Depression and (to a lesser extent), the reaction of the big media outlets and many on the left (northeastern liberal Catholics especially) when JFK took office in 1961. The slower pace of media and limited other voices in the 30s allowed Roosevelt to slog on despite a lack of results over his first two terms, while Kennedy's assassination took feelings about him out of the normal political arena, as far as the public reaction being based on his actual results and failures.
Assuming nothing horrific like that happens, Obama's not going to have a public with either the patience or the absence of alternate voices as there were in the 1930s, when you could get pro-Roosevelt propaganda directed at kids and others in theater audiences the same way you can see even more pro-Obama stuff on TV today, but little in the way of any "new media" of the time (radio news or talking pictures) to offer up an alternative opinion.

Does that mean the welfare checks will start to bounce?
Hands off me and my mama! Hands off our paychecks too!
" I searched high and low and no luck finding the 4thgraders4bush YouTube Channel."
Because it would have been too far above Bush's comprehension level.
I wonder if Hussein has had more songs written about him than Mao, Hitler, Stalin, Kimmie Jong Il or any other tyrannical cult-of-personality dictator. Some seem to think this is harmless tribalism. I disagree. Tribalism (multiculturalism) is toxic and certainly no substitute for the three Rs.
Has anyone every suggested that you might consider picking on people your own size?
"If Condi Rice or JC Watts had won the presidency preaching hope or change and transformation then there would have been videos of kids singing."
You do realize the left declared Rice to not be black, don't you?
Had either of them been elected, the left would have been holding mock funerals for equality. They would have been declaring the return to Jim Crow. No, it would make no sense. But neither does their veneration for The Won.
The teachers are vertically challenged Americans?
Not in every classroom in America Mr. Nolte. My daughter attends a private parochial school. And there is worship going on her classrooms, but its not for the President.
At least W knows there are 50 states, not 57
Maybe it's a re-write of an old Bill Clinton song.
And we have another liberal who Didn't Get it.
I don't know — Kim Il-sung is dead and they're still writing songs about him.
Ok… Liberals need to shut the hell up about the ONE instance after Katrina where black kids (that was gathered around Mrs. Bush) were singing to/for/about Pres. Bush….. This is too wide spread and creepy to even be considered the same thing…. Liberals seem to think this is ok… :/
But then I wouldn't want my kid singing the praises to any man… :/
Who do you prefer, Christian missionaries or Obama missionaries?
Just one more reason why my kids will never, ever step foot in a liberal indoctrination center.
Sheldon,
You sound like you missed Nolte's point… if you think he's "picking" on the school kids then you really owe it to yourself (and to the idea of reasonable discussion) to reread his column.
I believe you'll see that he's clearly targeting teachers, and by extension, the teachers' unions… the folks who support the President, and perhaps worship him as a hero, by a large margin.
the democrats have re-aquired their slaves.
I would be amused.
At least I could go to the grocery at the first of the month and not have my car swamped by shiny new SUVs and be run down in the aisles of the store by snot-nosed unattended kids having races while mama tries to sneak a case of Bud through the line.
[...] MORE [...]
I don't and I believe your relatives. So much so that I have an exit strategy already in place.
"We believe in Barack Obama, he loves you and he loves your mama."
I doubt he'd love my mama very much after she punched him in the face.
Yes! Welfare reform worked, and showed a lot of welfare queens they could actually work.
And given a choice of work, or going without… they may try finding a job.
Since 97% of African Americans still support Obama then you have to assume that their parents don't object to this. And I'm sure there were plenty of Germans in the 1930's that had no problems with the way Adolf 'handled' their political science agenda.
If this were going on in San Marino, CA or Scottsdale, AZ or Fox Chapel, PA then believe school administrators would have their heads on the chopping blocks.
You mean it would have been beneath him to cook up his own fan website and theme song.
Government Schools gets you Government Propoganda. It's jsut that simple.
It doesn't surprise me that schools with predominantly black students and faculty would make a big deal out of Obama being the first black president. I think it's expected and even appropriate. It's about the symbolism, I highly doubt that the teachers and faculty who orchestrate these things have any understanding of politics, or policy, or anything like that. So it really is about Obama the PERSON.
When I was a kid we had activities to celebrate Washington and Lincoln, and no one got offended. I realize this is a sitting president, and it looks like kids singing for Fidel Castro, wearing their little red bandannas around their necks ala Elian Gonzlez, but if it's ok to have Washington and Lincoln activities, you can't say Obama is left out of the fun.
Still, the only reason this is an issue is because these are public schools. Privatize schools, allow more charter schools, if parents want their kids to be indoctrinated by Obamaism, fine! Let them choose to go to a school that does that. If parents want their kids to go to a school that that doesn't do stuff like that, fine! Let them choose.
So.. the problem here really is government schools, not the actual kids themselves being happy they have a black president. That's probably very inspiring for them at a young age and I don't think anyone would want to take that inspiration away from them, right?
Fail.
Um, no. Just no.
stop it. you're scaring my never-entered-the-door-of-a-gov't-school children.
Guys, I am not talking about the "left" or their agenda. We are in total agreement on this point. I am only suggesting that many of these kids and their teachers are simply overly euphoric about a "king" occupying the white house. I don't believe there is an official indoctrination program out there to force kids into singing songs about Obama.
Let me offer an example, I used to work at the corporate HQ of Wal-Mart. I worked in marketing and often we would receive unsolicited videos and CDs of content created by folks that demonstrated their love and admiration for Wal-Mart. If you don't believe me, do a Youtube search on "Wal-Mart music video" Certain people get really excited about Wal-Mart and want to produce music and other content for the company. We never encouraged this or desired it. In fact, I doubt you could find a Wal-Mart executive who even likes the idea of this level of random devotion to the company.
Many "teachers" (if you can call them that) and students are simply overly excited. 6th grade black boys compose rap lyrics constantly. Is it a stretch to think they might write lyrics about a black President?
Again, I'm not suggesting the left doesn't have an agenda. In some cases, I suspect they are finding ways to promote this type of thing, but I believe in most cases it is zealous behavior on the part of local principals, teachers, and students. Not an overarching campaign like MoveOn, Acorn or SEIU.
Wow I can't believe someone didn't like my comment that the problem is government funded schools, and that we should privatize the school system so parents actually have a choice on where their kids go to school.
I would have more sympathy for these School Yard acts if they wernt so damn repetitive.
Excellent analysis! Are you a former modern liberal like myself?
My experience learning about the right is they really don't understand just how whacked out the left truly is. Without a doubt, they'd willingly worship at the alter of a dictator. That's what makes me think you were once on the inside.
My theory is they can't understand the concepts of freedom, capitalism, democracy and free markets, so some slick politician comes along and convinces them they can make all those ugly, confusing concepts go away, and guarantee them pretty much what ever they want.
And thinking for themselves is, well, so gosh darn hard. What's on MTV?
I politely disagree with you, I understand your thinking, but I don't think you understand the way the left thinks. They really want socialism. They honestly think that's the best path for America. Obama really is the messiah. They believe they are on their way to Utopia.
Trust me, I know them.
I agree there isn't a specific agenda to indoctrinate kids. The left isn't nearly that organized. And when they try to get that organized, you end up the NEA fall out, documented so well here on BH.
It's more of a clique kind of thing. They communicate with each other using certain looks, and code words. I know. I was on the inside, I know how this works. And now that I'm out of it, it kind of freaks me out how it actually works.
Kind of like invasion of the body snatchers.
On that point I agree with Mr. Lewis, but in the left, its not buried all that deep. I've had many liberals I've met tell me they'd be more than happy with President for Life Clinton.
That's all you got? That's not even funny. To be honest, it kind of makes you seem duller than you think Bush is. You can't even understand that 4th graders for Bush, would be 4th graders and not Bush.
If you're going to do these liberal hit attacks, you need to accomplish two things. First, it has to NOT make you sound dumb. And second, it has to be funny. At the very least pithy.
I'd give you crap over that line when I was a liberal. You're making liberals look stupid.
Agreed. Parochial school is a big expense, but if it keeps my child away from those people till she's mature enough to think for herself, it's worth the sacrifice.
I agree with you completely.
Some one just did agree with you! Go look!
Lol, thanks EdSki.
think…..Hitler youth.
Oh, but saying "fail", like in the phrase "epic fail", makes the writer or speaker sound so trendy and with-it dontcha-know. Like saying "boss", or "groovy".
Some of the videotaped students were reminiscent of POWs speaking against their will on camera as they blink a Morse code plea for help
LMAO!
I checked out the "whole horrifying thing" (which is indeed horrifying) and discovered that students at Albany High School had been taught to sing something called "the Negro national anthem" in February. Whatever happened to "This land is your land, this land is my land…"?
Martin Luther King, Jr., never needed a "Negro national anthem" to overcome hate, both the institutionalized and human kind. But then, MLK never made it to the North, either. It was easier in the South, oddly enough.
What better way to enslave people in "free" country than by giving them their own "national" anthem to sing?
(to be continued, as note says this is a little long)
