Socialism and Christian-Bashing Crash at Box Office
by John Nolte
Tough times for leftie Hollywood. Nothing’s gone right this week. None of this is their fault, of course. In order to understand that it might not be a good idea to rally around a child rapist, bash religion in a religious country or trash capitalism in a capitalist country you have to live in the real world…
Michael Moore’s CAPITALISM tanks!
Ricky Gervais has launched his second consecutive box office bomb as The Invention of Lying (Warner Bros) only mustered $2.2M or so to start the 3-day. The comedy should finish #5 with approximately $6.5M for the weekend. …
[B]ut the biggest disappointment of the weekend is Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (Overture). After a $57K per theatre average on 4 screens last weekend, the picture broke to a wider 962 locations with terrible results. The “documentary” only sold an estimated $1.3M in tickets to start the weekend, and it will finish at about $3.9M for a PTA of less than $4,000. That soft opening will almost certainly make Capitalism Moore’s weakest-grossing movie since 2002’s Bowling for Columbine ($21.5M domestic gross).
As if all this isn’t enough for our friends on the left to take in, you have $800 billion spent to get us to 9.8% unemployment, the *poof* of the public option, and a nine-month World Apology Tour resulting in Rio getting the Olympics.
And what can we expect as a result of these “teachable moments?”
What’s that phrase again…? Oh, yeah: More Of The Same.

I was given tickets to Moore's "documentary". I didn't go see it for FREE.
Michael Moore is the typical elitist Hollyweird so called documentrist who slaps the face of the system that he makes money off. I cannot stand him. Here is a man that got his first break on the backs of capitalism and now he bashes it, lying telling interviewers that Capitalism never helped him. What a crock! This guy is an idiot and he has gotten a pass from the liberal media with his documentaries which I might add are misleading and full of lies. If he was so worried about the evils of capitalism, then he should go and live in Cuba or Russia. Let us see if he could make a documentary on the evils of Marxism/Communism without being thrown in jail in Siberia or in a dank jail in Cuba. What a hypocrite! People got it! They are rejecting this documentary and I hope it disappears from the theaters next week…People are tired of their country being bashed by the administration and by this putz. Michael why not go to Africa and give all your money away to the poor and give up your carbon footprint private jet and fly Coach..What a liar he is and it comes through on TV…the people weren't fooled this time.
Amen – and I'm going shopping to celebrate the public reaction to these filmmakers – and that's the truth.
Good column & perfect closing sentence.
I wish people like Ricky Gervais would just shut their pieholes about politics and religion. He's a funny guy–Extras is one my favorite TV shows–but his dime-store cultural critiques are more than enough to drive me away. Between this and finding out that Ethan Coen signed the Save Our Polanski petition … now the only two movies I wanted to see this fall are out.
BREAKING NEWS
They are going to force H1N1 vaccines on children in Massachusetts…Our put you in JAIL!
http://mywhitehouse.org/2009/10/03/forced-quarant...
Be prepared
The sad thing is, they just don't get it.
Hope and change!!!!!
Clearly the only reason his movie is tanking is due to capitalism. Competition in the marketplace of ideas or movies for that matter should be forbidden, so movies like his could attract more eyeballs that would otherwise go to more intelligent and interesting works of fiction. The great irony here is that under true socialism no one could afford to waste their scarce and precious disposable income on such nonsense as a Michael Moore film. So maybe capitalism isn't so bad after all, eh Michael?
9.8% unemployment? Just think how bad it would be if they HADN'T spent the 800 billion…

Who gave you tickets thinking that'd be a neat gift? I'd immediately repudiate such a "friend" immediately!
Hope that SOB Moore mortgaged his house (or whatever he lives in) to finance that piece of crap and gets foreclosed. Then he might have to get a real job and stop loading his tax returns up with creative credits and deductions that allow him to pay no taxes. Warning to MacDonalds: Don't hire this bum; he'll eat everything in sight.
Well, that's a pretty disturbing video. Where are all the people who cried about Bush violating our civil rights by authorizing the cops to listen in on overseas phonecalls to known terrorists? They're OK with the cops coming in to my house to involuntarily vaccinate my three-year-old granddaughter?
We are losing our collective minds.
Over my dead body will they give my son that shot!
I thought he was going to lose weight after his "Sicko" movie. Guess he'll always be just another whining, no- account, liberal fat ass.
Sorry to veer off topic, but the "public option death" is a ruse. The current Baucus plan will destroy private health insurance and lead inexorably to government single payer. This is how the Left has adapted to their publicity setbacks, by deception and distraction (as they always do). Robert Tracinski has the complete write-up.

Its days/weekends like this that gives one hope for the future. Obama's failure in Denmark, sorry Chicago,
its not the city its Obama and the event. Aside, now if we can just kill the litany of upcoming bills the President and the Dims have in store for us. To lesser events like the failure of Mr. Moore's movie failure to draw a heart beat at the Box office. All in all a very good couple of days, Throw in the public exposure of Acorn and the NEA and we have the makings for a party. Life is good and in 2010 its going to be even better.
Why do these anti-capitalist leftwing swine live here? My family like millions of others fled from communist/socialist nations, many risking their lives to come to this "racist greedy capitalist" country. Why don't these liberal cretins put their money where their mouth is, pack up, relinquish their citizenship and get the phuq out.
On a previous post about Moore I pointed out that despite his rhetoric, his success actually represents free market capitalism in action. As an entrepreneur he offered a product that consumers found worth committing their money to and he was rewarded for his risk and effort. Whenever Moore opens his mouth about the failures of capitalism we should respond by explaining just how he benefited from the free market capitalist system, including having the option of not using union labor on his latest film. Of course now Moore is learning a harsh reality; what the free market giveth it can taketh away. Consumers drive the market and consumers have rejected his latest offering. That is the essence of the free market.
No, no, this is way different. See, in Bush's case the government was being manipulated to serve the ends of a bunch of greedy capitalists and warmongers, which is obviously bad. In this case, good liberals are in control, and are only doing these things on behalf of our common interests, to help us. That automatically makes government interference good. When will you people learn? Tsk, tsk…
There will be MORE Hollywood carnage as the boycott of the numbnuts who signed the petition supporting Polanski commences. I know that I FOR SURE am going to carefully vet EVERY film I see and if any of these people are connected, I'm not giving them one dime and will make sure everyone I know does the same.
It's delicious seeing MM crash and burn. Perhaps the stress will help with the weight.
I am very proud to profess that Mr. Moore has never received ONE penny from me and will NEVER receive one penny from me. That is how capitalism works.
Here Here, Catherine. No chance weight loss, stress yes, his cure eat more. As has been said, maybe he will explode. I jest.
The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.
The public is tired of the lefts constant bashing of our traditions and our values.
But they still don't get it.
Until they understand human behaviour they have no business telling anybody how to live.
People will do just fine if the government would just get the heII out of the way.
Yeah, and Barack Obama has saved the 152,000,000 jobs that still exist.
How much would someone have to pay you to see a Michael Moore movie?
We used to have a few people who thought differently, but made strong arguments for their case.
You're being far too generous.
Moore uses clips from this this old educational film strip on Capitalism. But not this clip:

Unconstitutional. Anyone involved with this should be imprisoned. More people die from the regular flu than the swine flu. Every parent that was forced to have their child vaccinated should sue the state into financial ruin.
uh huh,… and the fact that nearly all of it hasn't actually been spent yet, just a meaningless detail. I dearly hope you were just being sarcastic, and I missed your point.
The point is to me, Obama and his crew couldn't run a popsicle stand without first pumping a million into it, then hving the government take over the management of it, then regulate it's competiters out of business first,..
but hey,..
who doesn't want a one flvor only, 50 bucks apiece government sponsored twin pop?
yay….
I've seen a few around on different sites. Possibly this site is too difficult for them?
I hope they return. The old game of whack a lib is such fun.
Tho you folks do most of the heavy lifting
5 thumbs up tho only one counted.
Moore's new movie bombed. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
No wait, by all accounts he ISN'T a nice guy. Okay, it couldn't have happened to a not-nicer guy.
I'm just saying and repeating what a talk show host said "Liberalism is an untreatable mental disorder" and Mr. Moore certainly proves the point. What a total waste of skin!!
LLOROB, there are definitely a few, and I stress a few, ok ones; I was just giving them a little jab.
And I agree, whack a lib can be a lot of fun. I live in LA so there are plenty here.
This week has been a good news week for me John – first The Ego has landed, then Letterman gets caught; now all the leftist movies are tanking. If I had some champaign I'd break it out but my breakfast OJ will have to do

you are correct- he's not only not a 'nice' guy but is actually a full bore jerk. Even his fellow lefties don't really like the guy- he's cheap, selfish, arrogant and spoiled.
Other than that he's ok…
Here's the delightful thing about that, though, Catherine…
No one in meaningful numbers is going to boycott anything due to Polanski. It's like the people who "swore off" Woody Allen – 90% of them hated his movies to begin with (too cerebral, too jewish, etc.) Martin Scorsese has nothing to worry about. Unless there's some kind of bombshell, L'Affaire Polanski ends about a week after he's either sentenced or let go before extradition. You're lesson: NEVER hinge a "movement" on the actions or attention-span of a mass-culture that turns Jon & Kate into "celebrities"
They still have the pile of unspent stimulus money soon to be at their disposal should they need it..
They come in second only to the unions.
The failure of types like Moore and Obama, is that they are oblivious to how they are perceived by others. They are so self-absorbed in their own opinion of what life should be like for everyone else, they are unable (or unwilling) to detect the odor of their own bullshit. Those of us who do not dwell within the world of celebrity worship could hardly be less surprised. Have another donut, Michael. Keep staring at the mirror, Barack.
Old_Tom
Collective being the operative word here.
Why –because they wouldn't be allowed to whine there.
You have a point in that movie goers may have short memories should the kids or someone in the family desire to see a movie badly.
From afar as I am just a movie fan. If its true that the "stars" are no longer able to 'open ' a movie, political movies don't seem to make any money, Woody Allen enjoys very modest success if any, I would say the public has a more of an effect on the business than you are willing to give credit and the list can go on.
I feel your pain.
You guys just don't know the REAL Moore, oh everything you said is true, you guys just don't know the REAL Moore.
I love how the more they struggle the worse it gets for these libs and their delusional hate-propaganda. Looks like the hollywood left's efforts are flyover movies.
I want my heroes back. I never used to view a movie with politically tinged glasses, but the more these narcisists start going 'off script' with their 'heartfelt' rather than intellectually developed opinions it TURNS ME OFF. I don't want the hero to be a 'metro-sexual' hermaphrodite like Jonny Depp. Where are the John Waynes of today?
Anytime I see a movie that has Sean Penn, J. Garfallo, Alec Baldwin, ,,there are so many more but I am thankfully having a mental block to list them all. As crude as it was the puppet show "Team America, World Police" done by the writers of South Park, really nailed it when it comes to our growing list of Hollywierd celbs. Please I ask you, I enjoy the escape and mental stimulation that movies can bring, STOP ruining it with flapping your gums and saying really stupid things off screen. If I don't know your twisted political leanings, I might actually be able to watch them again. Oh, and by the way, you screen writers better start coming up with some better story lines than simply trashing this nation. There are real heros out there, they walk among us, they just are no longer to be found on screen.
perish the thought- we already know more about Moore than we ever cared to. Let's just say Goebbel's would like him just fine…
Mikey the Moron is an exemplar for the overindulgent beamer bolshevik who continually lectures flyover rubes about their wasteful ways while jetting to the next black-tie affair on a private Lear Jet. Please continue to stuff yourself with chocolate eclairs, you miserable tub of bacon drippings.
Too true!! All the infrastructure money, the roads, the bridges and all the rest. Not only was the sign maker the only one to get the business, what work there will be will only go to union jobs. 85% of the 'trades' in this country are non-union, which means all that work will still not change the un-employment numbers even when they 'speed it up'. STOP IT ALL RIGHT NOW. Take the remaining Stimulus money and put it into direct credit lines of $1 million each to thousands of small business owners and you will see the jobs numbers rise overnight.

Are you Bill Brandt from Yuma?
According to polls America is 40% Conservative leaning, 40% Independent, and only 20% Liberal – Progressive. Moore's move is designed to appeal to a more radical segment of the 20 points on the left. Not a good business plan. Much of Hollywood's screed is designed to try and shift public opinion towards this number. it is getting shop worn. Success of movies with strong values underneath like Toy Story, Up, or even Abrams version of Star Trek seem to indicate an end of Moore's run is in the offing.
Old Tom: Think if they had spend the $800 billion to remove income tax deductions for a year. How many jobs would that have saved or created?
Good idea, except for the obligation that goes with it, all small businesses must join a union to get it.
You saw the requirements that went to GM and Chrysler
I don't trust this bunch to flush the toilet after use.

Maybe someone gave them to the friend.
I'm in contact with many liberals on a daily basis, I live in Canada (don't hold that against me) and even they are bored with M.M's schtick. Even the dumbest liberal knows on which side their bread is buttered. They can see through a be-speckled , obese, middle-aged, white man who's a multi-millionaire and the means in which he acquired said millions "almost" as easily as any conservative can.
Nope…
And it's a lot of skin, Remember saggy, baggy elephant?
Wow. Makes you wonder what country we live in….
On a medical note….I recently took the Type A (seasonal) flu shot. Visiting with the nurse who gave it, I remarked that I had no intention of receiving the H1N1 vaccination. The answer given to me, in a hushed voice, was: "Don't take it–I most certainly will not. Wait to see what it does first. There are no guarantees that it's safe. The swine flu vaccine given in the 1970s killed more people than did the flu it was supposed to prevent."
Yeah, he was being sarcastic. I've seen other posts from him. He's an intelligent thinker who "gets" what is going on in our country right now.
One of my instructors knows some nurses, and they're saying much the same about the H1N1 vaccine. Basically "too rushed with not enough testing"
Ahh, man, thanks for the good news! Moore has landed on his fat butt! Of course, if he wants space to land on, he'll have to kick Michelle's enormous rear to one side first – not to mention the fact that Oprah's gargantuan butt is also littering the dirt as well. Man, now THAT would be something worth videotaping – a big white whale (harpooned with his own box office) plopped on the ground between two pigs in lipstick. Now that mockumentary is something I would watch it!
I saw one of his standups, and I believe I recall correctly when I recall that he made a point of saying it was not his place to make political jokes. I believe he had something to say about Iraq, and he said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to get political here." I admired that. I wanted to see Invention, but I'm not going to now that I know what it's really about. It's his right to make the statement, of course. And my right to stay away.
His "racism test" on Extras is still one of the best things I've ever seen, though.
Until Congress bails him out, of course.
I've never seen one, either. Not even Canadian Bacon, which I might have seen because of John Candy, but I was onto Moore by that point.
Hehe. "Landing on his fat butt" made me think of this.

Donut? Please deal in plurals when discussing "Derriere Gigantus"
A job at my former rate of earnings…
I wouldn't mind two hours in the air conditioning, as long as someone wakes me up after my nap…
My Walther rides on my hip with 17 little friends, each with their warm copper jackets, snug in their nickel-plated hulls…
Gotta love 147gr. Hydra-Shoks…
Sounds to me like the market is working fine at the Box Office…
LOL Like a loaf of fruitcake at Christmas? XD
Didn't you see the story on Fox News – pregnant women hospitalized with the swine flu have 28% mortality?
This virus is evolving faster than the paranoia surrounding the vaccine.
ZOMBIELAND FTW! Funny as hell!
Seven out of ten liberal people who comment about Rush Limbaugh cannot help but rant about Mr. Limbaugh's weight. Apparently, they think this removes any validity to the Conservative message. Michael Moore, however, is spot on with his message, and liberals always seem to be surprised or ignorant that Moore makes millions schlepping his anti-American documentaries. Because of his gross and sloppy appearance, they FEEL he is a man of the people.
Liberalism is a socialist disease.
I don't ask much of you oh Lord and I hope you will take this into account when I ask you this great favor. Lord, please let someone knock Michael Moore's fat ass out. Lord, I ask that you let Michael Moore take a massive phantom punch to the jaw and, just for good measure dear Lord, a couple extra ones while he is going down. And, Lord, please let it be live on prime time television, preferably on Fox News so that an audience could witness it and be entertained by it.
There sure seems to be a push to defuse the word "Socialism". The fact is, this form of economics (Socialism) is very caustic to the human spirit. If you're allowed to innovate and risk your money and reap the rewards – but then have those rewards confiscated for the greater good, why innovate or risk? Some will but most won't in that environment. That is what is happening to some extent now. The money people are waiting by on the sidelines to see how the health care, and cap & tax bills, etc… will turn out. If it becomes too expensive to do business in the US when/if these bills are passed, job creators will bring there businesses elsewhere (and the resulting jobs). God help us.
Your revenge fantasies notwithstanding, Moore could probably finance his movie out of his own pocket, write the money off and still be rich. I´m a shappy as anybody that his newest isn´t doing well, but let´s stay realistic.
I often wonder why movie theatres don't play old and/or classic movies. I would pay to see classics like the Wizard of Oz, or Gone With the WInd on the big screen. I would also enjoy going to see movies like ET, or Home Alone, or anything with Clark Gable in it on the big screen. Frankly, I don't bother going to theatres to see the crap they put out these days. It doesn't look like too many people do anymore. Crap is crap and that is what is showing anymore.
I say, good bye and good riddance. There are still some who leave an inane comment and get 23 replies, none of which they ever read. Personally I´m tired off wrestling with these pigs, as the saying goes. I spent far too much time trying to educate liberals in 2008. Remember their childish enthusiasm for Obama, their arrogance. No argument was too vile or stupid for these guys. Most of them would just repeat what they´d read on some leftwing blog or campaign e-mail. If I never hear from them again it will be too darn soon.
With unemployment at 9.8%, inspite of that fantastic government stimulas, you might consider the want ads for fictional companies (such as Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems, Initech Software, the Worldwide Wicket Comp., etc.) found at http://www.ruamoviegenius.blogspot.com
They're all fictional companies in fictional worlds, you know, the kind of world Mr. Moore's films are made in.
Wow, that is really sad. I didn't see the report, but that's even more reason to avoid the vaccine. It may be impotent in fighting newer versions…
I don't know. I went to an informal meeting with a guy whose job is to track epidemics and pandemics for the US Air Force. He said that the H1N1 flu shot is basically the same flu shot people get every year–just with the appropriate proteins for H1N1. I asked him from what he had learned about it, if he felt it was safe, and he said yes, as safe as the regular flu shot.
I also asked him if he would be giving it to his children and he said, "Yes. Absolutely." His wife and children were sitting there in the room at the time.
I am a "liberal" and this is JUST A FILM!! Jesus Christ, get a hold of yourselves. You'll never have any fun or enjoy your life if everything that happens in the world has some political meaning to you. I have my family and friends and school and just plain fun most of the time. Thank God!! I guess I am the troll you all are referring to but I just came on here to read the reviews. If you all keep getting tied up so emotionally in things that are, quite simply, beyond your control most times…you will end up wasting your time being angry and cynical about NOTHING really. Cause at the end of the day, if you're not happy…I doubt politics has anything to do with it. God Bless you all and take care!!!!
One last thing, I'm not saying that you should not have an opinion or care about what's going on in your country. I do. But if I let it consume me, well then that's just stupid. I may disagree with your comments but that's ok. I may agree. Who cares!? I don't need to be validated in that way. But it just seems sad…that's all. I think that's why I would probably be called a liberal but you would be surprised at how many things we probably DO agree on. Ok, that's it, I won't troll in and infiltrate your site again and I wish you all the best. Back to Huffington Post you send me, lol.
"Borat" was more of a documentary than any of Fatso's opuses. And speaking of "Fatso" did you get a kick out of the newspaper ad that shows Moore with about 100 kilograms photoshopped off? Stupid, smarmy AND vain.
Trying to defeat someone's argument by focusing attention on their weight or appearance is a sign of weakness in the debate.
I suppose that we will hear differing opinions from differing sources. Odds are that most who receive the H1N1 flu shot will be fine. Still, there lingers the question of it's side effects 30 years ago. They were pretty severe. The main point is, however, that as citizens of a free country, we should have the freedom to choose whether or not we want to take this shot. We are the one who runs the risk either way.
Martha, you don't sound happy. All people are doing here is discussing. When we discuss, it doesn't mean we are unhappy. Can you wrap your wet noodle brain around that?? Yes you can!!!
IT also covering illegal that why they are stealing 500 Billion from Medicare, they how pay into all their life .Just to buy their vote.
The only unfortunate thing about this is that Moore's crappy movies only cost a few bucks to make. Even this poor opening will still probably turn a profit. For a man who hates capitalism so much, he sure is an effective capitalist…
You use "Jesus Christ" without thought. It seems you don't know Him. Would you like to know Him?
Just another example of boycotting with my dollars; I must not be the only one.
Same here.
I got five tickets and a press kit, from someone who definitely does NOT know my tastes or level of awareness.
I burned them all.
And really… who gives away FIVE tickets?
That's like saying, "Here you go. Tell one of your friends their woman has to stay home."
I'm noticing a marked lack of Liberal comments on some of the stories here lately. We used to have a few people who thought differently, but made strong arguments for their case. Then we had a handful of trolls who just posted rants, then ran away. Now we're seeing a general lack of Liberal comments, but absolutely no one trying to defend what's going on right now. I think it's very telling that there isn't one post (not even a troll) trying to defend the Liberal icon Moore.
Methinks I'm sensing a chink in the, "I'm Liberal so I'm right about everything" armor.
Under true socialism, the movie would be a blockbuster because the government would force every citizen to see it, just like schoolchildren were forced to see "An Inconvenient Truth."
I asked him about that vaccine from the 70s and he said that because this swine flu shot is based off the current flu shot people get every year it will be much, much safer. Basically he said that vaccines have improved over the years in safety and that this H1N1 was not made like the one back in the 70s.
But I agree–people should not be forced to get shots.
I saw the "Lying" movie with Ricky Gervais today in Quincy, IL. People quietly got up and left during before the movie was over. I had read the reviews, but it was worse than they said. I actually started to doze off and I had to force myself to watch it.
A waste of money …. Don't go.

John – Nikki Finke looked at the exact same numbers as you – but THIS is how she describes 'Invention of Lying' – she calls it "a sleeper surprise". And "Capitalism…"? It's "purposefully controversial" with "a strong $1.6M Friday".
You do NOT want to know how she describes Roman Polanski. But trust me – it explains how she can describe those movies the way she does.
Moore's Sham Shame. Another progressive elitists that has no clothing, no relevance, and no message that Americans want to listen too. He won't even be able to pitch this film in France or Germany. Time for Moore's trip to Cuba, Venezuela, and then off to Libya.
I was happy to go and see "Gone With the Wind" several years ago in a big theater along with my mother and my daughter. That was a special experience. I wish, like you, that there would be more opportunities to do this. It was a great bonding moment for us.
Even better, would be if Hollywood made movies that were both enjoyable and appropriate for all ages. How nice it would be to watch a film without cringing in embarassment.
I DO know him which is exactly my point. Which is exactly why there is nothing anyone can do or say to me that would make me feel badly about them. Jesus blessed me with this life to live through love. I don't have the right to judge, or to try to make anyone else in this world feel less worthy of his love. And I can almost guarantee you that a simple film that expresses ONE persons opinion is not enough to create hostility in me because I DO know HIM!!! You can say what you want to me but I know the TRUE meaning of God's love and it is no respect of persons. If this was so, we would ALL have a lot to worry about because I know I'm not perfect and I haven't met a perfect person YET. Only Jesus. So, I'm sorry…I won't judge. Do you know him?
One silver lining of the recession might be that studios will stop financing horrible films like The Invention of Lying and anything by Michael Moore. How much money could they have left to waste?
He hasn't gotten a cent from me since I went to see Bowling for Columbine and realized that I'd been ripped off.
I wouldn't go see it as a documentary. Maybe as a comedy.
Moore's movie didn't make any money because the government was giving away tickets. Its about socialism right?
You assume that I get caught up in rhetoric. I don't assume anything about you at all because I don't know you. Comments like that don't affect me because I know who I am and where I stand. And it is not always for "the left" or always for "the right". I have a mind that expands beyond parties. If someone is wrong they are wrong no matter what!! Wavey Davey, I wish you the best and I pray you ARE truly happy. And I wish you happiness in all you do!!!!
Precisely Patkean. That is why people are full bore po'd at the government right now. The gig is near up, and they know it. So they are trying to indoctrinate children as fast and as aggressive as possible. Those who live in the real world are ready to vote every last one of them out.

I suggest everyone go to the movie theater and demand to see his movie for free!!!! Make it hard on those movie theater people. Be annoying.
Martha, you have probably already left for a more enlightened site that is open to different ideas and
a floating value system that allows for more in depth discussion of opposing ideas. That is fine but
this thread is about Mr Moore and his movie so you will see us talking about Mr Moore and his movie. If you tire there are other threads to join that have different ideas, however, there are a lot of similar thoughts about
any given subject because we are very sure, for the most part, in our pricipals and that doesn't leave you with
much to room to discuss varibles. I feel a certain way about Mr. Moore that probably fits 90% of the folks here.
That leaves just around the edges to discuss. But you are welcome with any reasoned argument and I don't believe I have heard one from you yet.
good to hear this
That's just wrong.
You can at least eat fruitcake. Tickets to a Michael Moore flick is worthless even as garbage.
How will the Baucus bill destroy private insurance? It is so laced with goodies for the industry that it should be called "Leave No Health Insurance Company Behind." A majority of middle class Gold Plated insurance coverage is from unions. And I believe especially liberals should pay their fair share!
Yeah Martha! Go to Huffington and get violated, validated, or whatever the hell else you want. BTW: Seems like you might be racist. Just kidding! But, no really.
John, The Michael Moore grosses are slightly inaccurate and very mis-represented. It was anticipated by the studio to make 5-6 million which, according to Nikki Finke, the real box office guru, its slated to do. "Whip It" was the big bomb of the week and "Invention" bombed. A lot of movies have done poorly this past month.
"I'm Sorry". Well, you got one thing right.
Right now, its all about race. Racist.
Maybe you can explicate yourself mo betta by seeing this through a racial prism: you seem racist.
Somebody posted this about Moore and his weight: "Seven out of ten liberal people who comment about Rush Limbaugh cannot help but rant about Mr. Limbaugh's weight. Apparently, they think this removes any validity to the Conservative message. Michael Moore, however, is spot on with his message, and liberals always seem to be surprised or ignorant that Moore makes millions schlepping his anti-American documentaries. Because of his gross and sloppy appearance, they FEEL he is a man of the people."
Just thought the readers here would appreciate knowing how the anti-capitalist spent a few weeks last year–it was in sunny South Florida in North Miami Beach (not too far from Limbaugh's Southern Command) at the Pritikin Weight Loss and Longevity Center! It only costs about $4500/week to stay there but everyone can see that Moore didn't stay the months necessary for his own "love story" to come to fruition. But hey, all those capitalist screening parties have such good food–who can resist? I think Moore should go on the Rush Limbaugh diet–he's lost about 90 pounds and looks fantastic. But not Moore. Alas, I hope he won't decide that the Pritikin capitalist pigs don't deserve his money this winter season–Florida could really use the Stimulus funds that capitalist pigs like Moore drop down here…
Liberalism is a socialist disease.
Does Moore and his investors keep any profit they make on this movie or any others or does he give it all back to the crew and writers or whoever helped him on his projects.
Or does Hollywood still have the best accountants in the world. I wonder if Forest Gump ever made adollar
Dopey Moore will probably get nominated for a Nobel Prize for his mockumentary. If Al Bore can win a Nobel Prize, any lib in an Ivory Tower can.
All you trolling libs, be sure to wear your tinfoil hats when darkening the doors of a theater near you.
Ha ha.
I respect how you feel. But no, I'm not racist. I just care about everyone and I think I want too much to find common ground. That's ok if I can't. But I appreciate your input.
Ok, I'm sorry that nothing that I said made you realize my point. But I'm not here to argue or try to make anyone think like me. I'm just saying that I don't care if I differ with you…I respect you anyway. Good day!
Okay, we get it. Michael Moore is obese! Michael Moore is filthy. Michael Moore is probably closet. Michael Moore probably has extremely small male genitalia and extremely large female genitalia. Michael Moore needs to be forced to do the "naked-piggy crawl" while someone follows him around and shoots his naked, flabby ass with a taser. I agree, the merciless torture we could commit to his morbidly obese (did I say that already?) body for weeks, months, maybe even years could be the single most satisfying experience man has ever known. However, I think what we are missing here is that Michael Moore may be racist. I recall him saying something vaguely critical of Obama. Yep, racist.
No, not at all because I have not mentioned race at all! When have I mentioned race? Point out one thing that mentioned race? I believe in the human race. And there is nothing you can say to deter me from caring about every creed and color. I'm sorry, I'm going to love you anyway!
Like I said, I know who I am. I have nothing against you for calling me a racist because I know that I am not. I just wish that more people could look at PEOPLE and see that the faults that we ALL have are nothing more than human. Sorry, if you think I am and I hate if I gave the impression even though I never meant to or don't think that I ever mentioned it. But if I did, I apologize…it's about acceptance, and the real true meaning of God's love.
And do you even know what color I am? How can you assume racism? Racist to whom? Let me tell you…No one! If it was ever a way to find people who loved NO MATTER WHAT then I would be completely biased because I would want to be with those people and NO ONE else. Sadly, there is no group that is separated and respected that just LOVES, NO MATTER what, who, color, creed, political affiliation, country, state, city…So I will by myself. I'm sorry, there is NOTHING you can say to me to make me change how I feel and make ME wish you harm or anything but peace. I STILL wish you the best!!!!
You just made my point FOR ME!!! Thanks. I don't want to argue with you. Is that what you think is the only healthy for of communication? I just say that I respect however you feel. That's all. Is that something to argue about?
Moore movie tickets = kindling, my friend…. If Cap & Tax passes, you'll need all the kindling you can get.
His movie did nothing for Capitalism
In other news, car sales have tanked 41% since the Cash For Clunkers program dried up.
Just think how bad it would be if they HADN'T thrown that program at the economy….
Moore should be sentenced to watching "SuperSize Me" over and over again, until he loses weight.
The only thing that could make the crash better would be if Sean Penn was the star
I have adopted a new philosophy toward hollywood movies. I will still see Moore's movie..if only to be able to comment on the content in an informed way. However…I will not purchase a ticket to HIS movie…but will purchase a ticket to the LEAST liberal movie…or most family friendly one…and just walk into his. I will not spend one cent to support any movie starring, produced or directed by Sean Penn, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tim Robbins, Oliver Stone or any other anti-American progressive asshat. I may see their movie…but they will not get one cent of my hard earned money.
Actually, there's only been one fruitcake ever made and it's been passed around from person to person for thousands of years now.
How much does Moore's movie have to bring in to keep him rich? $21.5 million still sounds like a lot of money to me. I'd love it if his drivel drove him into bankruptcy, but he can always collect enough for one speech at Berkeley to live like me for several years.
Couldn't they tax him for being fat to help finance health care reform?
People like Moore never use their own money to finance their films. They use money from sucker "investors."
I got a phone invitation to "invest" in a film once. I told the guy "but these are designed to be writeoffs, right? Nobody makes money "investing" in the movies." He hung up and I never heard back from him.
If Hollywood was smart, they'd give that money to Rudy Ray Moore and Jerry Jones so the two of them could make a movie people would want to see.
Seriously, who WOULDN'T go see a movie featuring The Creeper, Willie Green, Queen Bee and an all girl army of kung-fu killers?
You're right, they don't, not even close.
I saw an interview once with an avowed Marxist, and I had several conversations with one I knew here locally. She was the liberal arts school kind, who ws outraged by "social injustice" and the rape of dear mother Gia. They both had one common theme.
If only,.. the numbed masses would LISTEN to them, why of course we'd all immediately agree with everything they say, accept their solutions, jail and shoot the folks she hated, .. then all would be peace and brotherhood for all mankind
They are that deluded.
Moore fancies himself a Christ figure who will lead us to secular utopia, with him as the ultimate sayer of what is right and good.
Funny how the so called prophets always have the "I'll be your leader so pay me outrageous amounts of cash" thing going on for them,.. the best part, Moore refused to pay union scale employees since it was "his" money.
I completely agree!! If we already have preconceived answers to our questions of eachother, how can we ever actually agree, or even HEAR if we agree on anything? Thanks for your response.
Thanks,
I kinda thought it had that feel, but with libs being so literal sometimes, it's hard to tell.
Apologies to Mr. Tom, for missing it.
[...] Oh, no wait, never mind. The same Breitbart “Hollywood” site dismisses the film as socialist Christian bashing a few days later. You begin to wonder if these guys actually talk. Share this [...]
It's funny how I have said nothing against what you believe and this comment that I made is actually saying that I support whatever you choose and someone put a "thumbs down" for my comment. What? Is wishing someone happiness despite if we differ wrong? Or do I have to agree with you or hate you? Sorry, I won't hate you no matter what you say…because I just can't . It's not in me.
Just think, if unemployment hits, 20%, (already has, but they don't count the ones who's unemployement has run out without finding work.), but if the MSM reported the figure…
Joe Biden would be telling us it'd have been so much worse,
Joe Biden,.. Joe Izuzu,. I keep mixing the two up, which one is the outrageous liar nd pitchman again?
And LLOROB, my point from the beginning was that there is nothing wrong with us disagreeing with eachother. Wouldn't it be quite boring and a little Stepfordwife-ish if we didn't? We are not robotic but humans from different places and backgrounds and alot of different things affect the way we think. But after it is all said and done…we all want to live a good life for our family and not have to worry about certain things that we expect our great country to provide. There will always be discontent and conflicts but can't we agree that we all just want to be okay in the end? I know that's what I want for EVERYONE!!! Just to be okay… And I have NEVER beat up Bush or any Republican because how in the world can ONE man have the answer for the world? All I know, is that we forget that God is the only one who has the answers and that we should stop trying to use things that don't represent him IN HIS NAME to get what we want. He already knows. Okay, bye and bless you!!!
One of of us should probably call it a night, I think its me.
Good night Martha.
I know, I've been so bored tonight. Nothing on I.D. channel. Goodnight!
I already saw an article where Moore was saying his investers would be pretty P'O'd by the movie he made, biting the hand that fed him.
So no, he's got his money protected, squirreled away lest the taxman come for him,.. he's a rabid leftwinger, they never fail to cheat on their taxes, it's us common folk what deserve the red hot tongs and rack. See, we aren't true believers in Moore's perfection.
Justice, karma has it's own timetable,
I expect Moore will find his payback slightly more painful than merely loosing money. You don't advocate chattel slavery of an entire people without encurring the wrath of Heavan, one way or another it will end badly for him, I'm not saying it should,..
just that fate has it's own kind of justice.
he's grown fat off misery, and advocated slavery to solve that misery,. I doubt God is amused.
Types like Moore get their pleasure from the hubris in the most self centered of conciets.
He fancies himself the one truth teller in a land of fools. To be mainstream, in his mindset is to be dumb, conformist and just another sheep. But to be a radical………
whoooa dude…
That makes him smarter than us mere herd, his ideas can be useless as an old I dream of Jeni script, it's that his thinking is so wildly out of step that proves to him, that he's obviously much smarter than all of us, much better qualified to judge us than we our ourselves. He derives his immense ego from telling himself, his oddball stance is another piece of evidence that it's the 99% who are clueless…
but Mikey ol buddy,..
when 99 out of a hundred tell you that you're a bloated obnoxious reject with BO and p*ss poor social skills,..
I'd say, chances are, you need manners and a bar of soap..
telling us it's you who are correct in matters of hygene,.. won't sell all that well.
Actually Michael Moore got one of his first big breaks courtesy of the lefty public-funded BBC which in the nineties used him to make a series of films attacking America. He was the BBC's in-house anti-American American.
These Hollywood types really think they are above reality. Living in a make-believe world from day to day, they have lost any sense of moral concience. No wonder this country is in such a mess. Anyone who thinks a guy who drugged and raped a 13 year old girl should not be held accountable because of his "artistic tallents" are sick and demented. People who idolize these immaginary people are lost sheep. Gone are the people from their houses of worship, they worship the TV screen. There is so much crap on the boob tube I haven't hooked up mine since I moved back to my home-town 2 1/2 years ago. Since they hate capitolism so much it doesn't make sense to pay to see their trash, there are many other things in life that bring far better pleasure than watching movies full of garbage plots and immorality. I took up swing dancing and found the love of my life. It is very easy to just turn it off and not spend any money at movie houses or renting DVD's. I only miss classic movie & history channels and National Geographic. But those I do rent and catch on-line. Hollywood can sink to the sea. God bless America.
Joe Biden: "There may 9.8% unemployment, but, hey, 90.2% are still employed!"
Kinda nice to hear. Thanks!
Gee….I guess "Capitalism" really doesn't work for the four-eyed, bloviating, half-educated fat ass.
Then again, no tent could possibly be big enough to include him.
Ah…I love the smell of schadenfreude in the morning….
Don't know if it's still going on, but in Knoxville, TN the Tennessee Theater downtown used to play classic movies routinely. One of my fondest memories is my dad taking me to see "How Green Was My Valley" on a Saturday afternoon (several decades ago).
My movie-going these days consists of classic movies on DVD.
Of course, all they were buying was Toyotas and Hondas anyway.
No problem. At least you gave me the benefit of the doubt.

No argument there in fact we enjoy the encounters, but Democrats/libs usually show up
with preconceived notions about conservatives then proceed to beat us about the ears or eyes in this case with nonsense. We end up with no basis for continuing the discussion and it ends up badly.
No visitor comes to this site to argue for or against a policy they want to argue philosophy and bring up
what they perceive as past indescretions by Pres. Bush and then resort to name calling. Not much room for discussion there. If Huffpo and similar sites are the basis for the ideas it makes it very difficult.
I'd do it for a hundred bucks and free popcorn. But I'm known to be pretty cheap.
And we could get that DAMN Cavaletti to play the villain!

You know what's hilarious? I consider myself a pretty well-informed person, but didn't hear about Baucus for the first time until last week. Some troll put his name up as the "only person who can save the GOP in 2012" (yeah right) on a comment thread on YouTube. That being the source, I didn't even bother Googling his name, just to not give him the satisfaction.
I'm glad that I can keep doing what I'm doing–reading Breitbart and following the comment threads here–to find out what's really going on. Even though you "veer off topic", you still do a service, so thanks
I think the closest thing we have to a John Wayne is Clint Eastwood, and he's got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. I'll cry when he's gone…and I'm not a cryer.
There's also Jon Voight. Maybe if we're lucky we can talk Toby Keith and Trace Adkins into spending a little more time on the big screen?
Don't forget that they like to shred him for his multiple divorces (none of their damn business) and the fact that he used drugs for a few years (despite checking himself into rehab of his own volition six years ago this month). And on top of that, Rush lost 80-something pounds this summer. He now only weighs 13 pounds more than I do, and that's not bad at all.
But hey, MM, he's a champ right?
Hell to the yes! Brilliant idea. I like that. Machiavelli would be proud
Well, MM can blame capitalism for his failure to sell a movie about capitalism. That must be the NEXT so-called docmentary. BTW-he should buy a dictionary and look up that word.
Wait, that gave a headache.
I've noticed that the comments to articles in the Dying Newspaper bizzness have definitely flipped to anti-all things Obama in a big way, except for the NYTimes, WaPo and a few others….the depth of the hatred for our budding Communist in DC is growing astronomically…I do not believe the polling, I think BO's disapproval rates are twice as high as the rigged polling suggests. The O'bumblers are as oblivious to their unpopularity as they were to the IOC. A fall is coming hard and fast…be ready the Left is about to go off the clift!

[...] And now for some good news [...]
Nice, it could've happened to a nicer man but didn't, it tanked for Moore.
The brains of Michael Moore. Let's make a film about the evils of Capitalism in the United States of America. In a country where you have rights to express yourself and actually capitalize from it, well Mr. Moore, if you do not like capitalism and your freedoms the alternative for you is Russia!
"Capitalism: A Love Story" sold about $36,000 worth of tickets at two theaters each in L.A. and two in New York, according to distributor Overture Films.
It's certainly not the biggest opening ever for the provocative left-wing filmmaker. "Fahrenheit 9/11," which still holds the record as the highest-grossing documentary in the U.S. and Canada, collected $83,922 from just two locations when it opened on a Wednesday in June 2004.
Nonetheless, $9,000 per theater on one day is very strong, particularly in the slow moviegoing month of September. That amount is typically considered healthy for a new film in limited release to gross over a three-day weekend, not a single weekday.
Phuck Jeebus
He has lost weight, you moron. And still losing.
I always appreciate learning parts of American history that seem to get left out of the discussion in history class. I never learned about Roosevelt's 2nd Bill of Rights to protect workers. WTF? I want that.
I also appreciated that it covered the Window worker's strike in Chicago & their success in winning, despite their more than reasonable demands that should have been a given. Their struggle reminded me of Argentine factory workers who took over factories and have run them themselves–see the film The Take to be really inspired. A workers' take over didn't happen in Chicago because it was too foreign of a concept and we don't have the proper protections in the laws (see above). But, worker owned businesses exist in the United States. They are successful.
What was missing from the film was nuance. Capitalism, and what is meant by the term, is used freely as if we all agree on its definition. Now-a-days its almost required to affix an adjective to the term to really be clear. What Moore's film is really getting at is the Neo-Liberalism (privatization of vital services) & Predator Capitalism (Profit before Community) that have run-amok since Reagan and perhaps before.
Basically, demonizing Capitalism isn't going to make Socialism anymore appealing to those who view it as an evil. A more thoughtful look at Democratic Socialism is needed in this country and I was glad to see Bernie Sanders get some airtime. Yes, America, people with socialist tendencies are indeed your neighbors and they have reached those views from an informed basis. Deal with it.
Still, this is one author's editorial. And, a more nuanced film probably wouldn't attract over 1000 viewers over 3 shows in a small town like Traverse City. Part of the attraction in Moore's films is the audacity, but it is also his personal honesty in throwing his view of reality out there. We need these discussions. We need to question.

Yeah. Wow. Who would want to actually listen to someone who isn't on the same side as us? Anything anyone else says should be discarded without even giving them the chance to persuade us. I suggest putting your fingers in your ears and chanting "LALALALA!" when some lib tries to talk to you, because it's better to only know one side of every issue.
So if someone made a documentary about Martin Luther King and the only subject of his life that was discussed were his supposed coummunist leanings. Would it be "Just a Movie".
What if the supposed facts that were in this doumentary were half truths and on the face outrageous. It's still just a movie right.
For the same reason you would be upset with someone who made this movie of MLK we are upset with Moore for what he puts in his movies. And after all, this is just a blog site……… we vent then we have our latte's (OK were conservatives so it's just coffee at Dunkin Donuts but you get the point)
Doesn't change anything, I still am glad it ain't happening.
As far as its Bush's fault, so what, Obama will not be responsible for any event during

What an interesting read that will be.
Dang! Late to the party again! I guess capitalism really ISN'T working for mm, just like he said.
BWAAAHAHAHAAHAA
And yet, both "The Invention of Lying" and "Capitalism: A Love Story" made more money in one weekend than "An American Carol" did in its entire theatrical run. They also both more than made back their budgets in one weekend, while "An American Carol" didn't even make back a quarter of its budget in its entire run. What sort of teachable moment would be that, John?
If the public really wanted to teach Hollywood liberalism a lesson and send the message we have had enough all it would take is about six weeks of Conservative and Republican adults total committment of not attending any of their movies. Its hard for kids to have this committment but adults shouldn't be a problem. Since liberal hollywood hates capitalism well let see what they do without it. Wishful thinking you say.
Not quite…..

And since American Carol was an Indie film with a limtied opening……….
An American Carol opened in about 700 more places than the Moore film, as your links show. Michael Moore must be happy. John Nolte, less so.
I heard today on the radio someone who interviewed some people who worked for Moore in the past. In many instances he did not pay them overtime and at times did not even pay minimum wage. While he pointed out the mansions some executives lived in, he conveniently neglected to show his own 'humble' abodes. The hypocrisy is mind-numbing.
"In order to understand that it might not be a good idea to rally around a child rapist, bash religion in a religious country or trash capitalism in a capitalist country you have to live in the real world…"
Just a minor note to the quote above to keep parallel sentence structure, I believe it should be "…it might not be a good idea to rally around a child rapist [in a civilized country]…"

I love the comments on MM–funny, trenchant, lucid, understandable, & I totally agree, from what I've read of him; couldn't happen to an un-nice'r guy. As for the continuing problem of the Obamamonster, its really going to come down to basically one option: OBAMA MUST LEAVE OFFICE, PREFERABLY SOONER THAN LATER, ACTUALLY PREFERABLY NOW!–& who cares if the raffish oaf Biden is next in line. Any group of repectable tea-partiers, independents, blue-dog democrats and conservative repubs who can't find a way to finish off HIS presidency within a month really ain't worth much (I know they can). He'd be toast within 72 hours of assuming the presidency after "the one" was thrown out, of that much I'm TOTALLY convinced. so let the GAMES BEGIN!! there's over 59 MILLIONOF US WHO VOTED AGAINST ZERO, and if just HALF of those who voted that way sign petitions of impeachment or put pressure on the U.S. Supreme Court for a SPECIAL ELECTION, Obama can't resist. HAHA. I like how American's get so wound up about socialism. Most developed countries (pretty much every one apart from the US) are somewhat socialist! Believe it or not, its really true.
Take New Zealand for example, for the previous nine years it's government has been officially democratic socialist and IT'S MORE ECONOMICALLY FREE THAN THE US! Socialism has huge benefits for society (I'm not suggesting that we become entirely socialist), but 'free' healthcare, govt benefits, universal superannuation etc are a part of most developed countries and all come from socialist ideology. How are those things bad?
Oh and btw guys, Russsians now have the same civil rights as Americans….. It isn't communist anymore….. (of course, true communism actually supports freedom of speech/press, but you wouldn't know that because the American education system is so anti-communism.)
You're an idiot.
I'll watch Bill Maher. He at least makes an attempt to seek the truth much of the time (not ALL the time, I know), even if he doesn't see it when it's staring him in the face. Michael Moore LIES, makes up his OWN truth, and demonizes regular, everyday americans, then expects people to believe him. It's a big difference.
So Nix, you like listening to people lying to you and spreading BS, then that explains why you are a liberal. Sorry but I can smell BS a mile away, I don't need it in my face to know it is so.
This is an awesome point, The_Great.
I know a man who escaped from Cuba. He is now proudly a legal citizen of the US, and is actually a better citizen than I'll ever be. He's motivated, energetic and fully understands the horrors The One has in store for us. The left will never understand one aspect of us conservatives: We're not racists; we simply deplore idiots. We tend to salute immigrants who come here legally and work hard, because they benefit all who came here before them. What a shame the Libtards can't offer a similar thankful attitude.

The form our government takes is a critically important issue. The One has proposed disastrous changes. We oppose them. He won't give up or give in — NEITHER WILL WE!
It's very simple. Some things are worth fighting for, even dying for. Our present government and its crazy way of governing is dangerous as hell. People will freeze and/or starve as a result of The One's policies, if they're enacted into law. Get a grip, doofus. This is very important stuff, to both sides of the argument. It happens our side is right. Too bad for your side!
You are right of course, I should have been clearer in my response. Pres. Bush did a bunch of things I and others did not agree with, from Kennedy writing the education bill to handing Obama a ton of cash
to distribute. That disagreement was voiced by Rush and others. That is one way conservatives differs
from libs. When a conservative President does something to displease us we say so. When Obama does something stupid libs fall all over themselves defending him. I am not a fan of the Olympics being held
in the USA when our debt is so out of control nor of Pres. Bush involvement in the process.
This is almost as good news as Chicago not getting the Olympics. I've been boycotting most movies for about a year. These people are partly responsible for the administratiion we now have. I feel some of my ticket money goes to them so I decided that this is my personal boycott. I love movies but these people have to go.
I went to see it. It was informative and the facts presented are verifiable. He has a point. Moore is a working class Catholic who was put through school on GM money as his dad was an AC factory worker in Flint, Michigan. Everyone should see this movie.
[...] Socialism and Christian-Bashing Crash at Box Office As if all this isn’t enough for our friends on the left to take in, you have $800 billion spent to get us to 9.8% unemployment, the *poof* of the public option, and a nine-month World Apology Tour resulting in Rio getting the Olympics. [...]
You really need to check the facts, many of the ones you gave here are disputed so many times it is silly. Sounds like you are just drinking the koolaid and passing it along to try to get others to drink it too. Mikey is a total propagandist and nothing more. His history is built upon falsehoods about his own past. You've just been getting spoon fed what Mikey wants you to believe about him.
Your comment was great, and very clear in its intent. Vince just tried to waylay you by grabbing a few words and running with them.
I always enjoy your comments. There are some really wonderful commenters on this site. Sometimes, I just sit back, incredulous and the wit and wisdom I'm seeing. No sarcasm intended, either, I'm being totally for real.
There are the occasional sickos, or those who are less articulate. I'm just pleased to be here, and ever so proud of my conservative brothers and sisters.

Investing in Real Estate
Just saw him the other night on tv, he has lost weight.
Anti-American is what you are. You would have been slobbering in your soup if Duhbya had gotten the Olympics here.
Vince, you seized on half a dozen words and responded to them. Furthermore, those words weren't even the thrust of LLOROB's comment. Typical BS — Bush has nothing to do with this, and it's not even accurate to hold him up as some sort of conservative hero. Bush wasn't nearly right for me, but he sure as hell wasn't as disastrous as this JumboDumbObama with whom we're saddled.
We must remember, conservatives, that some of The One's proposals are practically impossible to undo, once done. We MUST prevent ObamaCare and Cap-N-Tax from passing. Otherwise, the 2010 cleanout of congress won't do nearly as much good. We don't want the right in this country relegated to saying, "Elect us, we are the best choice to run the socialist government created by previous administrations." This is the situation in the UK, as well expressed by Mark Steyn.
Message to Moore: Loo hoo hoo zer!
I am Anti bribery, anti steroids, anti debt, anti IOC politics i'm anti a lot of things but anti American isn't one of them. After all I didn't vote for Obama. I love athletes,I love the competition not a big fan

I'll give you a thumbs up for that. You are my new best friend.
Thank you.
Umm, let me guess, you swallowed the line about "hope and change" from a Chicago thug politician, and I am the idiot? Your a funny fellow.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer fat ass leftie loon.
Capitalism sucks. It is dying. Screw all the corporate a-holes. They don't want an educuated populace. They want everyone to be dumb and happy. They're succeeding with 40%. Mostly in the south.
Anti-debt, except for a shit war started by a moron who was president, costing us billions that was off the books?
The perfct title for that pinhead.
Rogue: 1."a dishonest or worthless person" 2. "an individual exhibiting a chance and usually inferior biological variation"
You know, I understand Weyland-Yutani and Zinco are always hiring. Wolfram and Hart is always interested in hungry young lawyers, as well, and they have branches all over the place.
My gosh Craig, that is the weakest response, tho it is what I would expect from a liberal, What this war is going to cost is chump change compared to what Obama is planning to spend on his Stimulus, Health Plan etc. The debt he is willing saddle this nation with will make your grandkids think Grapes of Wrath is current events, if you insist on reproducing.
Tho with your party's thoughts on abortion there is a good chance you will be heirless as well as hairless.
That's an excellent troll. The fact that Nolte is dead wrong about the Moore film thus far has been noted in the thread.
Don't worry about Moore. "Capitalism" will run every day of the week on one or the other of the Showtime channels. They take care of each other, those lefty capitalists.
Unless you can disprove Sally's comment with facts, your comment is also full of BS. At least she watched the movie before judging it.
That's to bad. Maybe moore (the fat pig) should get a job at mcdonalds. What a hypocrite liberal slob. See conservatives can name call too libtards.
The Ego has landed
Is that a documentary about the Obama Moon Landings
As usual you have a good point El Gordo.
it seems there is no liberal site that will accept their recycled nonsense.
I believe they come here to pick up an original thought or two and rearrange it
to fit and then go to amaze their friends with their profundity. Then its back to
the conservative sites
But you have give them credit for testicles, its hard to get good responses when their
comment is "Duh"
Does anybody else here look forward tomorrow to Sean Hannity totally destroying Michael Moore in his interview with him tomorrow? I most certainly do!
Sorry El Gordo, I hope you didn't think I was being disrespectful to you
I edited my comment, one word may have misled you.
Why, to show us all how brilliant you are, of course. Liberals seem to have this mass delusion that everyone who visits a Conservative site or even comments negatively about President Obama must be a Conservative. I'm neither a Conservative, nor a member of the Republican party, and often enjoy debating people from either side of the aisle. Unfortunately, the best it seems you folks can do lately is the two posts we see here…one that contains two sentences with a 4th grade level competency, the other skipping any pretense of debate and just using a mean insult (which is homophobic, by the way).
I'm wondering if Liberals are unable to defend their beliefs because the beliefs are stupid, or the Liberals are. Perhaps you could clarify?
I wouldnt waste one cent seeing this fat idiots film. His throat looks like it is carrying a permanent big mac.He can take his film an shove it as far as I am concerned.I cant believe I am even wasting my time commenting on it an this creep.
I can point you to movies such as "Michael Moore hates America" and Farenhype 9/11, plus many other movies and books that show the method this liberal asshat uses to twist facts and peoples words to say what he edits his movies to make them say. See, unlike a liberal I know BS when I recognize it. I don't have to pay this clown to go see his propaganda nor do I have to provide you with facts that you will ignore anyway. I don't waste my time on such foolish things. Providing facts to a liberal is like teaching a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig. In case you don't get it, you are the pig and sally fits in there too.
The fact that she "at least" watched the movie tells me she is a libtard just as you are a libtard. And you are already following this swill spewing commie off the cliff like the lemmings you are. Mike Moore has been shown to take footage of a speech by someone and edit it to say something that was not said by the speech giver. He puts time frames out of context and makes his "facts" up as he goes. He is not a documentarian but a propagandist. The fact that you libs will drink his koolaid is proof that you are not able to think for yourselves. Pay to see his swill. No thank you. I would spend my money on better things. If people like you and Moore really wanted to show everyone how bad America is, then put your money where your mouth is. Move to paradise. Move to Cuba or go live with Hugo Chavez. But you won't do it. Instead you libtard commie pigs want to F**k up our great country. Because you would rather live in a 3rd world country then the greatest country in the world. Go live where the politics suit your clothes.

I remember watching an author on C-SPAN describe how Moore puts all his money into a trust or foundation (I forget which) and that foundation gives away the federally mandated minimum (something like 2%) to qualify as a foundation. And it all goes to independent film festivals that, surprisingly, show Moore's films.
What a tool!
[...] may be a millionaire thanks to capitalism, but he needs the money. His movie is bombing at a theater near you (and everywhere else). addthis_url = [...]
I would go back to theatres if the following happened:
1) Play classics, new and old on a regular basis. Stop subjecting us to crap.
2) Ban cell phones at the door. Escort anyone out who let's their phone ring or who is rude enough to answer it and talk over the movie. In other word's bring back the ushers!
3) Require people to behave with decorum and dignity. In other words, shut the hell up and let people watch the movie. Keep your kids in their seats. Do not allow said kids to kick the back of the seat in front of them, and lastly, for God's sake, chew with your mouth closed.
Until these things happen, I will stay home.

Whats the "L" for? Could it be Loser?
Just like I have always been told about liberals, you hold true to what I have always been taught; that to be a "liberal" is basically stand for nothing. How true this rings when I read your post. The only things "liberals" are liberal about is taking other peoples tax money, without paying their own of course, sex, and drugs.
Are you guys mental? Gervais's movie hasn't 'bombed'. Even in a country full of moronic, preachy Christians, it has made 15million. The production budget was low (well below the estimate printed on boxofficemojo), and it did very well in the UK. It will easily make a profit.
