A Head Rolls at the NEA: Communications Director Asked to Resign — UPDATE: ‘Reassigned’ Not ‘Resigned’
by John NolteUPDATE: Wash. Times is reporting Sergant has not resigned from the NEA, but was reassigned. He “is no longer Director of Communications.” END UPDATE.
From the Washington Times:
Yosi Sergant has been asked to resign from his post as Communications Director for the National Endowment for the Arts[.]
Big Hollywood’s Partrick Courrielche broke the story of these – to say the least – controversial NEA conference calls on August 25th, calls obviously designed to promote President Obama’s domestic agenda, especially health care.
The Washington Times picked up on the story, contacted NEA Communications Director Sergant and asked him about the calls. He denied the NEA was responsible for sending out the conference call email invitations:
WASHINGTON TIMES: Hey, I understand that there was a conference call on August 10th that the NEA invited producers, artists, marketers, etcetera.
SERGANT: The NEA didn’t invite…We were a participant in a call. It was a third party that did the invitation.
WASHINGTON TIMES: I see. I was wondering If you could send me, if possible, a copy of the invitation?
SERGANT: Umm…It didn’t come from us, so I don’t have it to distribute. You’d go to them for that.
Courrielche’s follow-up piece proved the complete opposite was true. Not only had the invites come from the NEA but from Sergant himself.
During all this Glenn Beck picked up the story:
–
–
This past Sunday on “This Week,” George Will wondered if the NEA hadn’t broken a few laws. Coerrielche followed this up on Tuesday with a post complete with contradictory audio with Sergant claiming a filmmaker named Michael Skolnick was the “third party” responsible for the conference call, and Skolnick matter-of-factly stating he was asked by “folks” in the White House and NEA to “bring artists together.”
Predictably, the Huffington Post spin on today’s resignation announcement is to make it look like this is some kind of right-wing witch hunt led by Glenn Beck:
Beck attacked Sergant and the NEA on his Fox News talk show, accusing the agency of propaganda efforts similar to those used by Nazi Germany. And now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck’s second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences. …
Sergant is, by all accounts, a highly-talented grassroots organizer and promoter, but communications director for the NEA is a position that requires a high level of political dexterity: the arts agency is constantly under fire from extremist activists who see it as propagating a liberal, libertine agenda. The day the culture war is finally declared over, there will still be skirmishes over the NEA.
No one’s arguing there’s a culture war, but if Sergant wanted to be a General on the front-lines he should’ve kept his story straight and not arrogantly assumed every artist puts partisanship above principle.
SECOND UPDATE: Patrick Courrielche responds to the news of Sergant’s reassignment here. END UPDATE.

Why would anyone who reads Breitbart or Drudge care the least bit about what anyone at HuffPo has to say about things? When is the last time HuffPo broke an important story? How is MSNBC relevant anymore? Why do we bother to give mention to these obviously bought-and-paid-for little "news and opinion" sites?
Hoorah for Glenn Beck
Wow, it sure hurts when your fingers get caught in the mousetrap.
Ah…Arianna Huffington, that bastion of Constitutional ethics…until she discovered wealth and popularity by dissing on conservatives.

Arianna, when you listen to her lying, you know, you just want to slap her really hard across the face. But alas, we just have to point out that she has a special place in hell waiting for her and other liars and distorters of truth. Obama and she can cozy up for all of five seconds until they realize that neither one can stand the putrid odor that comes from their rotting nature.
She can Huff and Huff all she wants but Obamas minions keep failing down!
Go GLEN!
So far, the Obama admin is showing that they have a very filthy house and that it takes concerned Americans to clean it up for them since the current renters are deadbeats and attention wh-ores.
Yuh, America this is John, I was calling about your current renters in your white house on the hill. It turns out they are uh wrecking the place and an ungodly stench is pouring out of the doors and windows. I just thought you should know that it might be time to wash it out and find more responsible renters before you lose your house altogether.
Nice! One more down, and 30 some to go. The sleeping giant has arisen, and in the words of Roddy Piper in They Live
"I have come to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I am all out of gum."
Go Us!!!!
making him Beck’s second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences
Umm…why is this a bad thing? If such malcontents exist in this administration (and they do), let's get rid of the lot of them. Of course, if we were really thorough, The Congress would be an extremely smaller body than it is today.
BH contributor Patrick Courrielche may have taken a decisive step to save our Republic by outing this NEA attempt to use the NEA as President Obama's personal deification machine.
It is telling that the resignations of Yosi Sargent and Van Jones have come about with NO participation form the MSM. In years past they have eventually joined the feeding frenzy intitiated on the blogs, allowing the MSM to claim that their involvement tipped the balance. No more. The MSM "watchdogs" are indeed the O's lap poodles. But despite their lockstep conspiracy of silence, the story is gaining legs.
Kudos to Big Hollywood on this story.
I hope this site continues to point out the use of tax-payer funds to promote the liberal agenda.
Defunding these anti-american communist criminals should be the number one priority.

What HuffPo or DailyKos is saying is important because to defeat your enemy, you must know your enemy.
Can someone explain how if you've been caught BLATANTLY lying that the Huffers can spin this to sound like a witch-hunt??
BH: "Can you explain why the NEA put this call together?"
NEA: "We didn't put this together. It was Mr. X"
Mr X: "Ummmmm, the White House and you guys asked me to bring these people together."
Huffers: "WITCH HUNT!!! It's all a Fox News/Glenn Beck WITCH HUNT to kill the arts!!! waaaah!!"
Am I missing something here??
Yosi is gone because he got caught in a lie. it would be great to think the WH asked him to resign because he did something wrong, but I sincerely doubt it.
*When did I become so cynical?*
Apparently the liberal ability to disassociate your mind from reality…
Good on you.

UPDATE: Yosi Sergant re-assigned at NEA not resigned
The National Endowment for the Arts Public Affairs Specialist Sally Gifford contacted The Washington Times and clarified that Mr. Sergant is still an employee at the NEA but is no longer Director of Communications.

It's also important because if they do break a story regarding conservative corruption, hypocrisy, etc… It gives us a chance to take our own out behind the woodshed and remind them why we voted for them in the first place.
That didn't happen nearly enough over the last eight years.
NEA Dellendum Esse!__All apologies to Dan Gioia who's a heck of a guy, but the time to pull the plug on the NEA has – time and again the NEA has broken the promise that it will stay out of politics, i.e. left-wing politics. __All NEA grants, except a few smoke screens are done to the left-wing organizations or causes, actions which do not address in any way whatsoever the interest and concerns of the taxpayers and larger US citizenry. Simply, the NEA has gone brazenly over its mandate and its staff is an enthusiastic instrument of the liberal establishment – I wouldn't be surprised to see that Michael Moore, Ward Chrchill or Naomi Wolf will get grants for their anti-oppression projects – with Sargant there, sure Farley will.__NEA must be dismantled – this must be one of the "cris de guerre" of the incoming elections. __NEA Delendum Esse!__
Wha?
"And now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck’s second victim" Beck doesn't have the authority to force a resignation. Later Huff Po sings Sergant's praises. So shouldn't Huff Po be mad at the administration for throwing "a highly-talented grassroots organizer and promoter" under the bus. Shouldn't that be where they should be looking for accountability….. of wait, Huff Po holding this administration accountable, what was I thinking.
Good riddance to Yosi Sergant. This administration has been pushing art propaganda since the hope poster. Not to mention the cheers for leader Obama in the football stadiums. I'm sorry it's creepy and Hitler like. What is with the hippy generation now suddenly wanting government running all of our lives. How will they like it when the the Republicans are back in power and running their health care, ect… What a bunch of sheep following Obama. This is the United States, we don't need anyone to convince us (brainwash) with pure propagana . You want a dictator there are plenty of places to move to. Of course they are targeting young people with rock the vote. Easy targets!
Sure, but we already know the enemy. Going to Huffpo or LSD won't illuminate anything, all it will do is add numbers of hits to their sites and "legitimize" them in the eyes of advertisers.
I think I'll start a new campaign; Don't click a lib dot com.
So who was the person in the White House? Seems to be some more people that need a light shown on them as well.
Maybe HuffPo is coming clean and admitting it wants radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists, etc. in the White House. That would certainly clear up the dialogue a bit.
Once more Glenn Beck has had to do the MSM's job for it. Somewhere out there, the founders of these great institutions are wondering where they went wrong.
You!…….. You!!……. lol
Exactly. My husband is always spouting that "know the enemy" stuff right before I turn the channel from "Good Morning America" to "Fox and Friends". (This morning, the switch got me from "Ellen DeGeneres is the new American Idol judge" to "ACORN representative is filmed giving advice on how to commit fraud to a fake pimp/child sex slaver and his ho!" And yes, I paraphrase liberally.)
I apologize for yet another comparison to the Third Reich in regards to this story, but again, I'm struck by the similarities. "Arts & Propaganda" Minister Joseph Goebbels, was tasked with making sure that all artwork produced in Germany, including music, reflect the greatness of the Riech, it's leader, and what the Riech stood for. Hitler's ideas concerning music and art were aimed at influencing the cultural atmosphere and political policies for all of Germany.
If Mr Sargent isn't using this type of tactic, what would you call it?
Coerrielche really deserves the credit for this one, he's the guy who stepped up and said this wasn't right and decided to let the world know what was going on. The odds are pretty good that he may suffer some repercussions from this, whistleblowers are only cool as long as they are bringing down the "right" things. He could have kept his mouth shut and we would never have been the wiser. As they say: Integrity is when you do the right thing even when no one is watching and even more so when it may come with trouble.
Huffpo just changed their headline…but it's still an attack on Beck…it's exactly what Beck predicted would happen.

"Reassigned?" Oh yeah, kind of like when Old Bolsheviks on the outs with Stalin were "reassigned" to Siberian labor camps.
Because they just gave me the name of the campaign I'm on: The "campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences." Now, make that "confessed and half-closeted radicals" and the name's perfect!

The thing that scares me is how effortless this was for Sergant to reach out to the thousands of artists throughout this country and tell them to support the Great Leader. I mean, this guy is just a small time guy, he's a NEW guy, he's wet behind the ears. But yet there he is on this stunning conference call within months of the Great Leader being elected, exhorting the artists to blindly 'follow orders' to support the Messiah. Listen, I've worked in government before and I promise you, the underlings have to raise their hand like pre-schoolers asking to go to the john before the underlings can even THINK of sending out a conference call request like Sergant did. IOW, Sergant's superiors had to know what he was going to do – and they had to already agree with him. The terror of Sergant isn't what he did but the fact that he could do it so effortlessly. This only means that the system behind is sicker than we thought. A healthy, America loving NEA wouldn't/couldn't have let this happen. Ergo?

Now now. Be gracious. Jon Stewart is busy "speaking truth to power". As were these "artists". Ha.
Oh oh oh. If I put a picture of Obama in a half liter glass jar full of my urine can I get some NEA dough? Sure sounds like art to me. If it don't sound like art to you, you might be a redneck. hahahahaha
"…a highly-talented grassroots organizer and promoter…" Oh my, it's not nice to call someone an A**hole?.
Glenn Beck has clearly shot up to the top of the Left's "S*** List" with a bullet. It's a position I'm sure Glenn gleefully relishes. Why? Because Beck has committed the ultimate unpardonable sin in MoonieWorld:
he delivers!
At this rate, Beck will soon be topping O'Reilly's ratings on a regular basis. Good for him.

"Barack Obama has appointed new leaders to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. George Stevens, Jr., and Margo Lion will serve as cochairs, and Mary Schmidt Campbell will be vice chair.
This committee, founded in 1982 and comprised of private citizens from across the United States, advocates for the arts and humanities as core of a vital society. It works with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to advance nonpartisan cultural objectives of the Obama administration."
