Points of Agreement With ‘Wings’ Star Steven Weber
by John NolteLast week I took actor Steven Weber to task for his desire to condemn those of us who aren’t millionaires to a government run health-care plan. Today, however, in the spirit of that awkward beer summit, Mr. Weber and I might have found some points of agreement.

Weber’s written a Declaration of sorts, and if I’m interpreting him correctly (my notes are in bold), this is a true bi-partisan moment:
The division is clear. It is, finally, right versus wrong. And on this side of the division we declare:
[I]t is wrong to [sic] for a modern, wealthy country to not provide all its citizens with health care.
Agreed. This is why we oppose ObamaCare and the rationing sure to follow.
It is wrong to not provide better education.
Agreed. This is why we will no longer condemn inner-city children to failing public schools. We will now support the school choice programs that allow them to go to the same private schools as rich kids.
It is wrong to go to war unilaterally.
Which is why we thank God for Great Britain because going to war bilaterally is cool.
It is wrong to cater to corporate interests when ordinary people are disadvantaged and struggling.
Let us come together and demand Hollywood refund that $67 million tax break.
It is wrong to cater to radical, ignorant, religious zealotry and to give it a place at the table when it should be banned to the fringes.
We’re all a little tired of Hollywood caving to CAIR.
It is wrong to foster a distrust of progress.
We must move beyond the historically failed policies of European Socialism.
It is wrong to have a fear of “otherness.”
Hollywood must stop denigrating Christians, the military and Southerners.
It is wrong to perpetuate institutionalized racism.
Uhm … Hollywood must stop denigrating Christians, the military and Southerners.
It is wrong to deny science and to avoid culpability in the polluting of our planet.
Nuclear power for everyone.

First!
And a great post post Mr. Nolte. When oh when will we see movies with muslim terrorists as bad guys?
Funny you should say that. I saw Back to the Future again for the first time in years. Libyans are the villians. To get Hollywood to be nice they only had to crash two airplanes into a couple of skyscrapers.
Welcome to Bizarro World.
This guy is a nitwit. I'm all for him paying the costs for everybody else, since he's volunteering.
Prior to 9/11 we did.
Nolte, congrats on having your first public lulz right here on this BH board – I salute you!
Awesome take-down…
Thank you for that.
Don't forget about the Australians and all the other small countries that sent folks. Mostly the Australians.
Funny, that’s the same picture that comes up when you look up “Doofus” in the dictionary. And he should definitely rent out that enormous forehead for advertising.
Like failed actor/"comedian" Bill Maher, Steven Weber is a nobody trying to reinvent himself in order to stay relevant. By parroting the left wing line, he knows he'll at least keep his name out there!
PS Take a good look at that picture. The guy behind him can clearly see his horns!
Here are some of the immortal words of esteemed actor and "deep thinker" Steven Weber in his HuffPo piece as he insults the electorate and population of the U.S.
"And the poor folks who are stirred to hurling mindless vitriol at the idea of health care for all Americans are, of course, the victims of a massive scam: drench the herds in low-brow entertainment,…"
Here's some low brow entertainment as supplied by Weber himself:
Brian Hackett: Because that's the stupidest name for a food, like "It's so good, I want s-more," Those are so stupid, they should be called stupids!
Brian Hackett: I saw this on the Twilight Zone one time, all we have to do, is stop time.
Ya, real high brow…Steven…what a tool.
"True Lies", strait up Muslim bad guys.
Ausies Rock!
"It is wrong to cater to radical, ignorant, religious zealotry and to give it a place at the table when it should be banned to the fringes."
Which is why I oppose Cap-and-Trade.
Much aprreciaton fer sticking up fer us sudner's an rednek's.
Hollywood only needs to be FOR America.
A classic Fisking by Mr. Nolte.
it is wrong for weber to weigh in when it is obvious he is a lightweight and cannot handle half his bud-light.
OK, a really important question.
Look at the pic of Steven Weber. WHO poses like that… standing with the thinker fist to chin with a girlish grin? Who?
Maher is "failed"? Why, because you don't like him? Maybe you should visit reality some day…
Is webber doing stand up comedy with these posts? nevermind the responses his own statements had me in stitches.
This non-millionaire American Christian military veteran salutes you. Brilliant post. I won't wait for the well-reasoned response…
I would only take an exception to one of your comments, John. It is o.k. to go to war unilaterally. I suspect the other side will fight back, so (and I'm quoting spicoli, here) wouldn't that make both sides at war and therefore bi-lateral? Further, if they don't fight back becaused we kicked their butts back into the terrorist caves from whence they came, then we win, and that is a good thing, right?
Nice post.
The chin-stroking thing isn't the only thing scary about that Weber picture. His skin's so yellow you'd think he has liver disease. That might be why he's so worried about health care, I guess.
And I think that dude behind him is the ginger bastard from Simply Red…
He doesn't act i movie or film. He isn't funny. So, yes, he's a failed actor/comedian. He might have success as a pundit, but not as an actor/comedian.
John you're 100% correct, but the will of the British public will be broken, like Hitler tired to do in the battle that resulted in the "Battle of the Bulge", divide the Americans and the British and try to win the war fighting only the U.S.
It is wrong to go to war unilaterally.
Which is why we thank God for Great Britain because going to war bilaterally is cool.
Already this year 61 British troops have been seriously or very seriously injured, compared with 65 for the whole of 2008.
In this episode of “Barack to the Future”, a black man disguised as the President of a 57 state union, commiserates with a Black intellectual recently returned from China. The Intellectual inadvertently pitched onto the threshold of the Gates of Hell, more commonly known as Cambridge Mass (as black Mass as you’re likely to find on the Eastern Seaboard) loses it. Where upon the flux-parameters shift and Satan’s acolyte, ever ready, enters trident in hand. The smarter than average intellectual demands of Satan’s acolyte, “Do you know who I am!” The acolyte responds, “Er- No. That’s why I’m asking for your ID.”
“Yo’ mama”, shouts the intellectual.”
“Does she have ID,” Satan’s acolyte asks before cuffing the recalcitrant and blasting America Barak to the Future. And this, children, is how Jim Crow came to drink beer at the White House.
What the holy hell is "a fear of otherness" ?
Lay off the pipe, dude, seriously.
Just because Maher knows how to push the buttons of dimwitted, left wing "followers" (like you), doesn't mean he's a success. He reads the papers and the blogs, and he parrots what he's read. It's a cheap carnie trick that the lazy, gullible and undereducated fall for (see: Psychic John Edwards).
There's NOTHING original in his thinking!
Oops, I stand corrected; you’re right, his acting makes DeNiro look like a piker!
The genius of Bill Maher!
"Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death"

Yep. It gets old seeing Hollywood produced dreck with ignorant sterotypical rednecks with really crappy accents. They all sound like they are British doing Gone with the Wind. Epic suckatude. I loved this post. Line by line, as we should take all of their arguements.
Heh, very true, GK, very true. He looks unwell. Also, are those *gasp* age spots on his forehead?? Kinda ruins that "boyish" charm he used to have.
Maybe he means aliens? Not the cross the border kind, but the intergalatic kind.
Dang John..thats awesome! GOOD JOB! DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's people like this that make people with the brains of Megan Fox look positively… semi-literate. (Which is a big mental boost for Ms Fox)
I absolutely love this. Great way to explain the universe to lefties. Not that they will 'get it' but it shore is fun fer the rest of us. ROTFL
The religion supporting Cap and Trade is called Ecodruidism – just in case anyone wanted to know.
LOL+1!
Weber looks smart on TV. What a great actor!
Off topic Mr. Nolte (except in the spirit of that awkward beer summit), please post/archive on BH PrezBO's tortured video clip:
Obama: This Isn't a 'Beer Summit': President tries to downplay meeting with Prof. Gates and Sgt. Crowley
"I am, I, I have to say, uh, fascinated with the fascination about, uh, uh, uh this evening. Ah, as you know, uh, this idea was prompted when I was talking with, uh-uh, Sergeant Crowley and he said well maybe I'll, I'll uh ha-hav-have a beer in the White House some day. And I said well, y'know, uh, we-I'm sure that can be arranged. Um, uh, y-y'nkow, uh I notice this has been called the Beer Summit. Uh, it's a-it's a-it's a clever term but this is not a 'summit' guys, this is, uh, three folks havin', a-uh, havin' a-eh-uh-uh, drink at the end of the day …."

G'itmo detainees should see that 24-7!
It is wrong to go to war unilaterally.
Another liberal contention that is easy to repeat but hard to defend. Why would it be wrong?
Let´s not forget the soldiers from many nations who fought and sacrificed in Iraq and Afghanistan as best they could or as long their governments would allow them. From Poland to Australia. But in the end we must be ready to do our own work. There´s nothing wrong with acting unilaterally. Like much of the left-wing vocabulary the word it is just code for "do not like if the other side does it".
I tried to watch the video, but I have such a hard time watching the President "live". It's painful. I think I'll just revert to reading transcripts again.
John, you always hit it head on. Your clear thinking and excellent writing bring any subject into focus.
I wish you would run for office. But then again, I would not be able to enjoy your posts here. Thanks again.
What ever happened to that debate you asked for? I started it for you then you disappeared, like a leftist incompetent nitwit CLOWN. Though it is partly my fault for thinking you really wanted to debate then you
ran back to mama huff 'n puff po.
The reality is you run when confronted with undeniable facts. Maher is failed because he doesn't have facts to support his statements, EVER. But you're on the same page as Maher. Run wr1, run like a clown that you are. Run…
Just because your conservative does not mean your a racist.
Add this to the list:
"Just because your conservative does not mean your a racist."
23 other countries joined the US in Iraq. I guess in Weber's leftist book that is unilateral. Does he just put his fingers in his ears and shout "LA LA LA LA – I CAN"T HEAR YOU! LA LA LA" when ever some one points out how misinformed he is?
Good Lord!!!! Was Obama really that inarticulate? That's just downright depressing!
Very true…the "unilateral" talking point is a worn out lie.
He's successful as a "woman beater" and an "America hater"!
I totally agree and didn't mean to slight the great troops deployed from the smaller countries. Those guys and women bleed red in defense of freedom just like our marvelous all volunteer military does. My point is that in an evil way the Radical Muslims hope to break our will to fight by inflicting maximum casulties just like Hitler hoped to break the American's will to fight. Hitler's propaganda people even dropped literature stating that, in essence, why should the Americans fight so hard while the Brits were "taking it easy" and laying low. It didn't work.
I've stated a few times that iIraq was almost an asymetrical war being fought by conventional U.S. forces. Afganistan, from what I glean from the news seems more of a straight up fight between armies, one uniformed, one not, but still much more conventional. What galls me is the sneaky, hidden bomb tactics, using women and children, etc. I believe that this war will be a 100 year struggle, Western capitalism/ Judeo Christianity v. Radical Islam. I also believe that the Islamic forces are will ing to fight and die for decades to attempt to subjugate and radicalize the West. It's a Jihad, an open ended fight. The more western countries they can "cow" and intimidate with terror, the less countries they have to actually fight.
Taken, but I believe the film is originally French.
Islam has been at war with the West since before the Crusades. They never stopped fighting for their Global Caliphate. We're the only ones naive enough to think that there has been peace between us before. Sooner or later, we'll have to realize that they've been at war for centuries and will be at war with us for centuries more if necessary unless we either wipe them out or they have a radical socio-religious cultural shift. There are pockets of less radical Islam. Americanized Muslims are (or were, they are getting more radicalized thanks to imported Wahhabist clerics) fairly moderate and tolerant. Indonesian Muslims also have more tolerant and moderate impulses, but they too are under assault from Wahhabist influence.
You know fear of anyone who doesn't think like him.
Awesome post, exactly right. This is why wishing for true bipartisanship is just wishing, and you illustrated it well. Thanks!
Don't forget Australia! They are die hard democratic allies too!
I think the redhead behind him is Eric Stoltz of "The Mask" fame. The reason I know this is that I'm a fellow "ginger" and have followed his career for years. He was also in "Rob Roy". I've always liked him but am afraid that because he's so close to this idiot in the picture that he's either a) a libtard or b) gay (or both). By the way "ginger" is an offensive term but since I have a thick (and very white and freckly) skin I'll overlook it THIS TIME!
ah, leave weber alone, he is just the typical no-brain liberal with to much money and not enough brains
steven weber – liberalism at its worst
Bravo! I thought I might skim your reply but then… I laughed while nodding. How silly Mr. Weber looks. He played Lowell, right?
Just a few tweaks:
1. –It is wrong to foster a distrust of progress.
"We must move beyond the historically failed policies of European Socialism," AND CARBON CREDIT DERIVATIVES.
2. "Nuclear power for everyone" NOT JUST FRANCE. (Why should the car burning 'youths' have an advantage over our gangs?)
Scientology?
I was thinking Deepak Chopra!
Yes. Low-brow entertainment is part of the vast right-wing conspiracy. All those neo-cons on "Paris Hilton's New BFF" should be ashamed of themselves for drenching the poor people in their "low-brow-ness" and tricking them.
As I said before, I think Steven Weber is a decent, and even likable, light actor and that's about it. He also has a right to his opinion.. Unfortunately a modicum of "fame" allows intellectual lightweights like Mr. Weber to obtain a forum for their views that are denied to those who have never been in a long-running sitcom. I'm sure that Mr. Weber's list of hollow platitudes qualfies him as a serious thinker but Mr. Nolte makes short shrift of them. The problem, as we know, is that the vast majority of the show biz types that provide Steve's only world will agree with him, pat him on the head and laud him about how "fearless" he is. I wonder if Steve would agree to have a beer (currently in vogue) with someone from, say, the Cato Institute?
Awww, man! And to think, I used to really like Steven Weber on the sitcom "Wings."
Last one I saw was Executive Decision…..about a plane hijacked by Islamic terrorists.
Oh, and a remake of The Poseidon Adventure, for TV. That one had Adam Baldwin and Rutger Hauer, and instead of a huge tsumami wave capsizing the boat, islamic terrorists decide to blow it up in the name of their religion. It was in large part re-written from the original.
Hmmm….

Yes, I threw up a little….

Oh Lord how funny! Thanks for the laugh!
All true…I'm picking it up at the time in history when terrorism began to be directed at the broad base of Western civilians and countries, particularly after the creation (or recreation, in my view) of Israel. I remember flying without the haevy security, when terror was something you watched on ABC with Jim McKay, when the Olympics were suppoese to be on TV. The back and forth obviously goes back centuries, Charles Martel defeating and pushing Muslim Armies out of France in the 8th century probably changed the course of Christian/ Muslim history by retaining France what what would be came a Christian country. Now they just immigrate to France and open a magazine stand, it's calmer and more subtle. I just left Europe, the Mulim influx is startling.
He's a faliure as a human being. Hey you two have a lot in common!
