Will Steven Weber Put His Health Where His Ideology Is?
by John NolteIt only makes sense that if ObamaCare’s passed employers will opt out of providing private insurance and millions upon millions, 85 million by some estimates, will end up herded into the President’s public plan. But that’s okay with millionaire actor Steven Weber because he know what’s best for us he and his loved ones will never ever have to worry about being the victims of the government run health-care system he’s so eager to see the rest of us shoved into against our will. Weber’s motives don’t come off as entirely pure, either. This is an angry guy eager to stick it to the rich (who don’t work in the entertainment industry).
In fact, the greatest threat to the health of individuals in the US is the lack of a nationalized, affordable health care program. Why the spin to cast it as socialist or downright deadly? Because to some, it ain’t medicine which makes you live a better life.
It’s money.
And that’s the only reason everyone from the Blue Dog to the fair and balanced Fox (craven animals which have a tendency to lick their own testicles and consume feces — just saying) hates the idea of people paying less and ultimately becoming healthier and detached from Big Pharma’s slow drip.
Three points:
1. There’s nothing quite like someone labelling someone else as “craven” just before they launch into descriptions of testicle licking and feces consumption — just saying.
2. Do you think Canada’s awesome health-care system might benefit from the billions upon billions America’s “Big Pharma” companies invest into research and development? Leftists demonizing drug companies who have done more to improve quality of life than even 172 episodes of “Wings” is the worst kind of demagoguery. Why not just demonize the American military while you at– oh wait.
3. Anyone pushing ObamaCare but unwilling to subject themselves and their loved ones to it has zero credibility. In order to punish the wealthy (who don’t work in the entertainment industry) and enjoy a nice little ordered Utopian world, Weber and his ilk are willing to risk the health of you and yours with the DMV of Health Care Plans while they float above it all on their platinum plans. Hell, even the President won’t go on his own plan. What more do you need to know?
And who is Weber speaking for anyway? He cites a poll showing 92% of Canadians are happy with their “doctor” but doesn’t seem at all interested in a recent CNN poll showing 80% of American are happy with their health care.
I don’t believe in socialized medicine but if the poll Weber cites is accurate and Canadians are happy with what they got, I’m not going to demand they conform to my beliefs.
That would be elitist.
So, come on Weber, man up. Lobby the Screen Actors Guild to shuffle all you government lovers into ObamaCare and not only is all forgiven but I’ll save you a place in line.

This is who Obama will hurt – At 92 years of age, Quindino Quintiliani thought he had beat the odds, surviving into his 90s without having to confront a cancer diagnosis. Not quite. A bout with pneumonia in March led to a diagnosis of inoperable, metastatic lung cancer. His cardiologist requested consultation with Dr. Robert Nagourney, Medical Director of Rational Therapeutics, a developmental cancer program located in Long Beach.
“I must admit, I didn’t expect to be offering a 92-year old patient chemotherapy and expected instead to be providing information on supportive care and hospice,” said Dr. Nagourney. Yet this spry nonagenarian with a thick Italian accent and a twinkle in his eye urged Dr. Nagourney to “not give up on me.”
“We agreed that if I could identify a mild therapy with a good chance of helping, we’d begin treatment.” Nagourney said.
To accomplish this goal, Nagourney used his laboratory to study cancer cells isolated from fluid around Quindino’s lung, an approach shown to double the likelihood of response to chemotherapy in lung cancer (Proc. Amer. Soc Clin. Oncol., 2009). The lab results could not have been clearer with the combination of Carboplatin and Gemcitabine proving exactly right for Quindino’s cancer while virtually none of the other lung cancer treatments revealed activity. Treatment started immediately.
“My breathing improved, and I felt sure it was working but the doctor couldn’t prove that until the X-ray was repeated,” said Quindino. But prove improvement they did, for when the new scans were compared, the radiologist was so impressed that he personally called Dr. Nagourney to say that they showed marked “interval regression of the patient’s metastatic lung carcinoma,” This, despite very few of the side effects usually associated with chemotherapy.
“Every patient’s good outcome is a worth celebrating, but Quindino’s excellent response is particularly gratifying. Had we withheld therapy due to his age or used the off-the-shelf standard therapies, I doubt that Mr. Quintiliani would be alive today,” said Dr. Nagourney.
Noteworthy, Mr. Quintiliani has received all of his therapy as an outpatient and hasn’t required the costly supportive measures like growth factors so common in cancer therapy, making his care comparatively inexpensive.
“Despite his age, Mr. Quindino teaches us that even in an era of cost containment, good medical care can be highly cost-effective,” Dr. Nagourney said. Quindino and his grateful family are certainly in agreement.
Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in the US, with more than 215,000 new cases and 161, 000 deaths for this diagnosis in 2008. Standard therapy provides responses in less than one-third of patients, often at significant toxicity and expense. Rational Therapeutics, is a pioneering cancer therapy program located in Long Beach that specializes in personalized cancer care based upon the laboratory analysis of each individual patient’s tumor. Lung cancer is one of their most active areas of research. More information is at http://www.rationaltherapeutics.com
You know, Stephen is right….It is money!
So why don't we as a country pick the most responsible, effective way to spend our money on our healthcare.
What exactly is he talking about "people paying less"? Either we borrow the money from our grandchildren or we raise taxes…either way people will pay more, not less on the government plan.
This from a guy whose greatest achievement in life was being second-banana on Wings? Give me a break. Lowell was a more brilliant political mind.
What they mean is that you will pay less. Your kids and grandkids, on the other hand, are f__ked.
Of course, knowing what I know about a majority of the Boomers (and a frighteningly sizable minority of Gen X), they're perfectly okay with selling out their children's future for short-term benefits.
I love a good smackdown of mental midgets. Thanks, John.
UNSUSTAINABLE.
The only way we'll get a health care bill that will work is if it is written not by politicians, but people who know enough about the industry to fix what's broken and keep what works.
weber can't man up. he had to hand over his man card when he signed on for wings.
Here's the problem with his thinking:
nationalized…health care program. Why the spin to cast it as socialist or downright deadly?
Well, Stevo, nationalized means socialist.
socialist means less of because centralized planning does not allocate resources as effectively as a free market. (See Soviet Union, China, India, Ireland, et al.).
Less Health care maeans deadly for somebody.
Pity. I have enjoyed Weber as an actor on "Wings" and films like "Hamburger Hill". Being capable of acting like a likable human being doesn't neccessarily make you one. His commentaries reveal a nasty adolescent streak.
Well said. And the notion that Big Pharma isn't going to be running this Big Government solution is absurd.
So you censored my comment. Maybe it was the reference to Weber's sexual preference…oh well.
Still, ObamaCare is on the ropes. Don't let up.
Here's what bugs me about this: Steven Weber is (presumably) a fairly smart fellow who lives in a very small echo chamber. He went to NY School of Performing Arts, SUNY Purchase, and then off to entertainment. Nothing wrong with any of that, but I looked and looked and could find nothing that indicates he has any interest in health care, public policy, political science, economics, etc. Weber is a blip on the radar screen, yet anyone who heads over to Huff-Po can read dozens of these screeds on a daily basis. Occasionally, you find a gem – "Hey, I don't agree with this actor, but she seems to have done more than a Google search to prove her point." What sad is not that such folk speak out, it's that most do so little work to present an informed, grounded opinion. Imagine all that money and publicity and time, and putting no effort into statements you make about issues that actually do affect the bulk of Americans. Such a strange disconnect.
My 2cents:
1. Tort Reform. Cap Malpractice awards.
2. Open Competitive Bid process for materials and services. The industry's lobbyists recently shot down that very proposal…so it must be the right thing to do, right?
3. Go After FRAUD. I mean Put-Them-In-Jail Go After.
And Lowell's thinking was Sideways.
Steven Weber? Who? When was he EVER relevant? Never. As like many entertainers, his MO is that he played someone smart on tv, so by inheritence, he is. Like in the 80's some actresses went up to Capital Hill to give their two cents about farming. What was their qualification? They starred in a movie about farming. From Steven Weber's latest accomplishments, HE'S probably at home licking himself.
He's a liberal. When you can't argue the facts, call names. Of course holding your breath and stomping your feet are also liberal qualities.
Didn't Jennifer Jason Leigh kick his a$$ in SWF? What a girly man. Oh wait, he's a liberal. Sorry for being redundant.
completely off topic, how does one get a negative 46 score? Oh and down with socialized health care.

Another classy liberal act. Not "socialist"! So he's stupid as well. I most definitely vote with my pocket book. I see no reason to add to his angst about his obscene income. My family will eschew anything that has his name attached. I understand I will not close a thousand theaters, but if he, or anyone that is willing to have their good name associated with his, is a penny poorer for it then it is worth it.
No, my family will not be hurt by the lack of "cultural enrichment". Most of what comes out of Hollywood these days is trash anyway, and I mean that in a very bad way. I can think of 200 movies made before 1965 that I can obtain and be much more entertaining, instructive, and insightful than the bilge that passes for movies these days.
This from someone who was raised to love movies.
What happened to America that we give riff-raff like this a paycheck, much less honors? The madness of considering such cretins "elites" must stop.
I heard Steven Webber has volunteered to forego his private care and switch to government care. Spread it around and hold him to it.
I have an annual MRI that costs me $1500. It's nearly impossible to shop around to see who offers the best price. It took two days and three phone calls to get an answer from one hospital.
Give the customer the power and lower prices will follow!
Steven Wiener who?
I know many on this site are probably not the biggest fans of Andrew Sullivan (I am) but he gives out "awards" on his website to people who talk trash: the Malkin Award for people on the right; the Moore Award for people on the left.
In the year or so I've been reading Sullivan's blog, few quotes have bothered me more than the one he presented from Webber which was "awarded" a Moore Award. You can click the link if you'd like because I won't copy it here. It offended even me and I'm not even a Republican!

My girlfriends Dad is an OB/GYN…he was walking to the hall way at the Med Center and was stopped by another physician who stepped out of a patients room and asked him questions…concerning LUNCH! Months later he was included in a malpractice suit brought by the patient in that room that day months before. Malpractice Tort Reform indeed!

And there it is in a nutshell…………Now if we could only get the"Lawyer" in the White House to see this!?!?
and then a flock of flying pigs went past his window……………..
While on the subject of Mr. Weber, an article written him back on Inauguration Day:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-weber/silent...
The guy continues to piss me off with his elitist BS.
F him.
Not sure I'd say he ever played anyone smart on TV. He was the younger, whiny brother in Wings who didn't want responsibility and always turned to his more conservative big brother to bail him out when he screwed up. Sounds like a textbook liberal to me. No brains required. Just focused on doing what made him happy until someone else (Big Brother) had to pay the bill.
if merck, pfizer, abbott, genentech, et al are involved in a conspiracy or criminal activity, then prosecute. if not, stop using them as strawmen scapegoats. the things these companies have made are nothing short of magic. i'm getting really tired of listening to pissants like you and hillary and prince barry try to destroy success in this country for political advantage
That was the one that took Wings–The Final Season out of my Amazon cart. Not another penny in his pocket!
Steven Weber is a guy who hit the lottery when he was cast in a mediocre sitcom that managed to last 172 episodes because it aired in cushy time slots. If not for that stroke of luck, he's another unknown actor, struggling to get enough work to qualify for SAG health care insurance.
Turns out Tim Daly is a raving lunatic liberal too. I think the only conservative on the show was Crystal Bernard. Although Thomas Hayden Church has starred in some relatively conservative movies. That's a little off subject, but he is a text book liberal who repeats the lies he's been told…line by line.
I just read the link to Weber's article for Huffington. Is he really the best Arianna can do? He is strange, ill informed and well, reading it made me crave a hot shower and a bar of Dial. He is ugly through and through. Oh yeah, and not the best at arguing for socialized medicine.
Thoughtful article John.
I read Andrew quite a bit until he started looking down his nose at your everyday conservative.
Wow – another hollywood crapweasel who knows better than I do what's best for me. I beg of you Chuck Norris, please give this d-bag a roundhouse kick to the head. I believe that's what is best for Steven Weber.
I'll take a competent pilot, thank you very much.
The same as Halliburton, Halliburton, Halliburton. The left creates these evil entities so that they can save us from them. Now they're busy saving us from ourselves. We can't handle our own health issues, so the omnipotent government will do it for us.
Wings, and therefore Steven, holds a special place in my heart. Reruns of it used to play around noon and it was the ultimate Summer break/sick day treat back in Jr High. Now if only this guy didn't ruin it all by opening his mouth.
In the Democrat mind – Of course it's sustainable. We can always squeeze the citizens of our great county to spread their wealth for the good of the collective through taxation. They don't care how much they've been or will take from us. That's our patriotic duty, according to resident genius, Joe Biden.
Obamacare will make the Hippocratic Oath a BIG FAT LIE. Who would ever trust doctors again?
Im with Nolte – every Hollywood actor who comes out to publicly berate the Unwashed into accepting a bill that has nto even been vetted should show up with a signed document stating that they will be accepting it too.
When do we get to get in these fools faces and scream STFU at them?????
I will agree with you on that one point, because collusion of industry and government in schemes like this is just the nature of the game. Although I still think you're a jerk.
Maybe he'd like to pay higher taxes as well…maybe he should just start sending in some extra to the IRS just for the heck of it.
Well obviously those who think getting a camera shoved in their faces and asked to pontificate on matters they have no education or experience or intelligent information about – which includes the Hollywood set and a certain community organizer who didnt do squat as Senator.
I saw an arrogant person as someone who believes he is far superior to you and knows better than you and will tell you what to do, and then go about making you do it. (or something like that). Anyway, arrogant people are CONTROLLING people. They HAVE to control others around them because if they didnt, theyd be forced to deal with how imperfect their lives around them are. Better to make everyone else around them create the utopia they want, rather than fix the problems they themselves have created.
BH readers/commenters a little OT,
I’ve been busy the last week preparing for the dual B-Day party for my 9 and 12 year olds, and have for that reason been away from any posting myself for that time.
However, I’ve noticed in the last 24 hours or so, on over a dozen different threads, columns, and hundreds of comments, (I read them all matter of fact), that the troll population has been reduced down to just 2 limp wrested attempts at slandering any of us in all of that time.
Man, just goes to show you that even these Obambi cultists are hard pressed to defend their poser in chief.
Just saying.
Man…I miss the good old days of Aunty Pie. What ever happened to it?
Not Over.
So Steven Weber is an expert on health care now? Gotta do something I guess, those acting jobs aren't exactly rolling in right now.
Good lord this guy's a pompous piece of work, daring to speak out for so many of us widdle people. Well Stevie, ya don't speak for anyone with a higher than room temerature IQ, I promise you. If he wants to swap insults, hey, I'm a vet and know all the really big swear words, A twenty says I could make him cry after about a minute 30…..
I bet a Marine could do better, but being Air Force, I'll let the first to fight get the big credit.
If you want to change the world, make a difference in the lives of people, to help them be free, to help them find their voice and dignity, in America,
you enlist.
if you want to be a big talker, make great money if you succeed, to be pampered and catered too, if you want to feel better by proclaiming your most mediocre thoughts to the bored press, and pass judgement on much better people than yourself. In America,
you become a fourth rate actor.
I bet I can guess which kind of person will be remembered more fondly.
You forget one thing. Politiicans think they know everything.
Look at our God-King Obama. He's never met a payroll or ran any business, yet he knows how to run two auto compaines. Same with health care, he is no doctor, yet he knows what is best for your care.
Both republicans and democrats are guilty about this.
Agreed, Mr. Weber has gone to the top of my excrement list in the entainment division.
The only reason I watched wings was for Crystal Bernard.
I agree. If the Pharma companies were so profitable why has the stock in them not been the best investment over the last 10 or 20 years. Go figure thieves that can't make money, only cutting edge drugs.
Anti-Semitic posts will do that.
Mr. Weber's mediocre acting career does not mean his points are invalid.
"In fact, the greatest threat to the health of individuals in the US is the lack of a nationalized, affordable health care program"
Making unsupported statements like that, however, does hurt his credibility.
When I think of the threats to the health of me, "the lack of a nationalized, affordable health care program" isn't even on the list.
This isn't very relevant to your story but it's the only one (thank God, so far) I have worth mentioning:
Went to doc at noon Friday. Went in hospital Monday am, operated on, out Wed. for gall stones. Try that in Canada, or Cuba Mr. Moore.
This is one of the prime examples why someone who is "famous" should not be taken seriously. I really like Steven Weber. "Wings" was a pleasant sitcom and, from what I have heard, Weber was a pretty good Leo Bloom during the Broadway run of "The Producers." None of this however equips him to pass judgement on health care or anything remotely connected with serious national policy matters. He is a very good light actor and he should let it go at that. I'm sure that he has no serious trainig or background in the complexities of what is, in effect, a transformational national issue. I am also willing to bet that his own health care insurance is aces.
I've been racking my brain trying to think of the word most fitting this guy and others like him.
Absurd.
Could only glance over it (too sickening) but my only thought was: Who writes this kind of crap???
I'm with you on getting our chance, maybe a huge TV screen over the HOLLYWOOD sign running 24/7, playing nothing but our UTube video opinions over their precious city!!
'evil flourishes when good men do nothing'
You do raise an interesting question which should probably be its own article: who considers them elite anyway? Where did that come from? Who started the trend of referring to groups of people as "the elite"? I'll give Weber (who I think is a good actor) the benefit of the doubt and guess he doesn't go around saying, "I'm feeling so elite today." (If he does, I'll stand corrected.)
Is it the other side? And if so, wouldn't it stand to reason there's a conservative elite as well? And in some cases, elite can be a good thing (I'm flying to Houston in two weeks; I hope the pilot is an elite pilot).
As with many things, it's all semantics.
I know many on this site are probably not the biggest fans of Andrew Sullivan (I am) but he gives out "awards" on his website to people who talk trash: the Malkin Award for people on the right; the Moore Award for people on the left.
In the year or so I've been reading Sullivan's blog, few quotes have bothered me more (from the left anyway; there are plenty from the right) than the one he presented from Weber which was "awarded" a Moore Award. You can click the link if you'd like because I won't copy it here. It offended even me and I'm not even a Republican!
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_d...
Andrew Sullivan is a talented writer, but I refuse to read anyone who traffics in ridiculous conspiracy theories about Sarah Palin's baby.
It's sad. He's the person who got me reading blogs in the first place, and I actually made an effort to go see him speak once. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that at this point.
After reading this I actually think I can support new taxes for national health care. They would be a tax on all movie tickets sold in the U.S. and a tax on any movie or television show that is filmed outside of the U.S. These taxes would come with the provision that all money raised with them can only be spent on national health care. Seeing weasels in Hollywood scream it's unfair and destroying their jobs while at the same time saying how wonderful socialized medicine is at the same would be the most entertaining thing that's come of Hollyweird in a long time.
I miss rick ross, sometimes shooting fish in a barrel is very amusing
i mention this because I had merck stock back in the 90's. hillary gave that speech blaming the drug companies for every evil imaginable and my investment went from blue chip to buffalo chip. she can kiss my afterthought.
From the Wikipedia article (coming from IMDB):
…his mother was a nightclub singer and his father was a nightclub performer and manager of Borscht Belt comedians.
(…now walking away while whistling softly…)
Which he promptly ordered the Air Force to immediately destroy before they could possibly get close enough to contaminate him and…
Oh wait. Nevermind.
Well said and on target!
Autoerotic asphyxiation. Was enjoying HuffPo so much (s)he did not notice when they lost so many brain cells they had forgotten how to breathe. Per the police report, in the basement the mother pointed at the naked form and screamed "It was all the fault of that Bush!"
Instead of taxing just take 95% of the profits off the top of all movies and TV shows made and use the remaining 5% for the producers to redistribute to the workers.
I am positive Steven Weber, Tom Hanks, Ron Howard, Al Gore, George Clooney, the sinking Titanic director among so many fabulous celebrities will love sharing their wealth with the po folk.
I hate Hollywood like I hate all grifters; I don't buy their crap.
What a tool. Brian Hackett has a flight to pilot to Hyannis and Joe is getting mad at him. I suggest young Hacket get his butt over to that little twin engine Cessna, fire it up and get outta here.
Thank you for Point #1. It needed to be said and so often is given a pass. The rest of your points are great too. And will someone offer to save a place in the public education line for Weber's children too, while he's praising the government?
Instead of taxing millionaires to "pay" for Obamacare, why not simply let the entire film industry pay for it? I'm sure the idealistic actors would be HAPPY to forgo their fortunes to do the "right thing" by accepting minimal wage for pretending to be someone else. I'm sure all the uber liberal directors and producers would be thrilled to donate all the proceeds from a film to fund health care for the "47 million without." Maybe then their guilt will finally be appeased, hope will be restored, and the earth will be healed!
Pretty simple Steven…give up your SAG benefits and get on board the Obamacare bus, then you can talk. Until then, shut up.
Doctors will become bureaucrats
Somebody needs to tell Weber that, because America is a free country, he certainly has the right to be stupid (more so that every American has the "right" to socialized health care), but he does not need to abuse the privilege. The thing that annoys the most about celebrities like him (particularly has beens like him) is that, if he is so ****ing worried about everybody's health, why doesn't he pay to take care of others directly out of his own pocket in addition to whatever taxes he pays? Why, he'd be a saint in no time.
BTW, John, my favorite like of yours was the "leftists demonizing drug companies who have done more to improve quality of life than even 172 episodes of 'Wings' You are absolutely right, although I think that a good argument could be made that "Wings" has contributed to the collective stupidity of some Americans. I mean, come on, how many intelligent people actually watched that show?
I truly DESPISE actor trying to give me there LIBERAL AGENDA….. I would say just shut up and act, but he is NOT A VERY GOOD ACTOR….. so just PLAIN shut up!!!
Can anyone refute Rhonda Hackett's article on debunking Canadian health care?

Good point….being happy with a doctor doesn't necessarily equate to happiness with govt. control of one's health…govt. control over Life & Death essentially.
I really doubt Weber is a "millionaire" actor. As you say, his most well-known role was on a moderately successful sitcom that's been off the air for years. He is probably more of a "working" actor who makes a comfortable living, but he is certainly not an "A-lister".
To his credit, he used to look down his nose at everybody. I guess that's what being a self-proclaimed "moderate" entails.
Why are these actors harping on Big Pharma? Without Big Pharma, who would make all of the Demarol, Vicodin, and other treats they need to get through the day?
I was referring to Stafford, not Weber. The previous poster asked "how does one get a negative 46 score?"
Forget Steven Weber, I'm waiting to hear what "Ginger" from Gilligan's Island has to say on the subject!
Steven Weber is the Larry Storch of his generation! He's a slightly larger version of Seth Green (no offense to Seth Green).
And you told him… Do you know about the "Borscht Belt?" Complaining about Weber fits right in with the standard Stafford rants about the "Jewish Conspiracy." That sort of colors his normal-seeming "Well said" comment a bit.
Ah…ok, I get it now.
"And knowing is half the battle." – GI Joe
when the politicians sign up for the obamadeathcare – then I will also
it is pathetic that the people that run our lives are trying to foist something on us that they will not have to endure
I find it just stunning that celebrity and/or politician supporters of this farce will unabashedly state that they will continue to pay for premium care rather than "take advantage" of the public "option". It blows my mind that they don't get why we think that's a problem. I swear, they've become so accustomed to their own hypocracy and lies that they don't even notice them anymore.
Got to agree. Doing a bad Stephen King mini-series (The Shining) isn't exactly A-list either.
Report this MSM! I love big Pharma AND insurance companies. Three separate American companies spent millions of dollars developing and testing a life-saving medical device called a continuous glucose monitor for people with type 1 diabetes. Now my 9 year old son wears one version of the device, the insurance pays 90% of the cost ($30 a month for my part) and I don't wake up every morning fearing that I will find him "dead in bed" from an undetected extreme low blood sugar. Our socialized friends can not get these devices for their children. We are a normal middle class family and I went to a healthcare reform counter-protest this weekend in Austin to protect my son from the people trying to harm him with their misguided version of utopia. This mamma bear won't let that happen!
Yes, the Feds SHOULD run healthcare. After all, lets look at all of the other great programs that they run;' the model of efficiency AND quality. Like ,……………
Hmm. Well, let me start over.
BTW-when was the last real job Steven Weber held?
Is that Eric Stoltz standing behind Weber? I think it is. But whoever it is, he's glancing at Weber with the same "who is that wacko" suspicion Nolte does.
Perfect.
I used to enjoy this guy's work but the only thing I could bear to watch again with him in it is 'Single White Female.'
Slightly off topic, more to do with the sub thread of costs. Politicians and the MSM blather endlessly about the amount of private money, private citizens spend on health care. Why is that even part of the debate?
What constitutes medical bills? Obviously hospital bills, treatments, etc. are health care costs. I wonder how much of the bill is paid for nose jobs, butt lifts, boob jobs, hair transplants, viagra, abortions, over the counter allergy medicine. How about condoms? Are the considered medical costs because you them at drug stores?
What exactly is wrong with some person spending their own money on liposuction? I have boarder line high blood pressure. I bought a computerized cuff which takes three readings per session, saves the data, which is then down loaded to my computer so I can print them out and give them to my Dr. Why should I not have that option in order to keep some mythical number down, than no one really even understands?
A friend of mine's wife has thin hair, so she got a prescription for rogaine. What the hell is so wrong about that?
Hey, liked 'Wings'. Funny show.
all he needs as a luchadore mask
Big plus on that!
Susan – I'm a medical transcriptionist by trade and recently had the opportunity to transcribe a report regarding a 90-year-old patient who was being hospitalized due to Medicare refusing her oxygen supplementation at home. She had gone for weeks without oxygen, although the doctor did not explain why this was. My sister, a retired nurse and Obamacare supporter (who also happens to be married to a very wealthy heart surgeon), seemed to think it had something to do with the patient's probable "no-code" status." My sister REFUSED to believe that Medicare would allow anyone to suffer like that, until I explained what came at the end of the transcription. The doctor sounded completely annoyed at the fact that they weren't even sure if Medicare would pay for this woman's oxygen while she was in the hospital! Even with this information, my sister still seemed to have the belief that the government will know what's best for all of us as far as our health care is concerned.
