I thought this was a good movie for Republicans. Not because it seems sympathetic to Wallace, but because it shows the extent to which liberal Democrats like Wallace will go to gain power.

Wallace was a scumbag and a democrat. But only Republicans can be racist...doncha know.

Sinise is great as always. I've got the perfect role for Sinise. He needs to play Richard Proenneke for a movie version of the documentary "Alone in the Wilderness." He be perfect for that role. For those who haven't seen it, it's fantastic. I've seen it probably 10 times now.

Another great piece about George Wallace was "Settin the Woods On Fire," a PBS documentary.

Just a great and evenhanded portrayal of the man who became the monster then became a man again. You even find yourself feeling sorry for him at the end, sitting alone in his room, clearly haunted by the terrible things he knows he was responsible for.

I'll have to pass on this one. I grew up in Alabama, and the real thing was quite enough for one lifetime.

George Wallace was NOT "a decent man."

I caught this on TV. Mr. Sinise is quality is my book, and no matter how odious the subject matter I know he would bring insight and class to the production. Which is did.

And Wallace was a democrat, doncha know...

Wallace is a fascinating character. Having grown up in Alabama during a large section of this period, I'm interested in seeing how he is portrayed. While much of his career is easily portrayed in black & white (sorry for the pun), there is a lot of shadows around the edges. Standing in the doorway of Foster Auditorium is one of them--the action of segregation was reprehensible, but the whole thing was staged. Engrossing theater, and by shutting down the campus to outsiders he avoided the fate of another Oxford, Mississippi. Again, not to excuse what he did but there was a lot going on behind the scenes that I hope this brings out.

If the timeline stops in 1978, then it misses his third term as Governor, one of the strangest redemption stories in America since his election hinged on the black vote.

Love Sinise but I have almost no interest in this biopic.

Dewey Cox, on the other hand, was quality entertainment!
