Stand Up Notes From Flyover Country: Sarah Palin is Dangerous
by Jeffrey JenaSome days it’s tough to find things to write about and other days the floodgates open and there are just tons of people begging for a little mocking. Last night I was in a hotel in Fort Lauderdale searching for something to write about and finally gave up and watched the Bears drop another game. I went to sleep fearing the bleakness of the next day. Then this morning the morons started jumping out of the trees. Two great ideas just showed up.
The first was right there in the USA Today outside my room door. Seems the ultra-liberal mayor of Mexico City is cleaning up the town. No, he’s not stopping the rampant drug trade, chasing down murderers or the organized kidnapping rings. Mayor Marcelo Ebrard is hellbent on putting an end to whistling at women on the streets and gum chewers who spit their gum on the sidewalk! I say “bravo” Mr. Mayor. There is no insult greater than being whistled at by a construction worker while being bundled into the trunk of a kidnapper’s car. Woe unto you if while you were kicking around in there some was gum on the bottom of your shoe!
The story says the mayor has developed “10 Commandments of Urban Conduct.” I tried in vain to find a complete listing of the other hard hitting rules the Mayor has put in place. I couldn’t find all the commandments but this guy means business! According to the same story, he has already cracked down or some of the most vicious types around Mexico City; bar smokers, street vendors and those animals who use non-biodegradable bags at the grocery!
The second came in my e mail. A friend forwarded me a letter from a nice fellow named Mitch Stewart. Mitch is the director of a group of Obamites known as Organizing for America. He’s a career political operative turned community organizer for the former community organizer. This is a little peak into how governments create and “save” jobs. Maybe some future stimulus dollars will create a new PAC that raises money for Organizing for America and we can have a community organizer raising money for a community organizer who is raising money for the former community organizer. Soon one in every four Americans can be a fundraising community organizer! It takes so little training and you can work while you are standing in the government health-care line.
Please excuse my digression; let’s get back to the point. The email, which is basically a fear mongering fund raising letter, has a lie in every line but I just want to highlight one of them. In this e mail, which comes under the imprimatur of BarackObama.com Mitch says this:
Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn. It’s dangerous.
There are three lies right in that one sentence. There are so many things I could pick apart there but let’s start with the most obvious: “It’s dangerous.” Really, Mitch? A conservative woman who disagrees with the President on a book tour is a danger to you? Don’t worry that Iran is about to go nuclear, the President can’t pick an option in Afghanistan, and we are setting moronic legal precedents in dealing with terrorists. Better get the FBI on Sarah Palin tout suite, she may be forming some evil cabal with Ann Coulter and Michelle Bachmann to overthrow the mathematics used by the New York Times bestseller list. Maybe you guys could create some more jobs building a robot? Warning, Will Robinson! Danger! Danger!
You lefties need to make up your mind about Mrs. Palin. Is she a complete moron who got elected Governor of Alaska by some fluke because look at her she can hardly tie her own shoes and her book is awful … or is she Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and David Koresh all rolled into one in drag?

as she would say- 'you betcha'! Funny how a one term Governor of Alaska, a housewife with five kids- including a special needs child- and a husband who works the North Slope would terrify the educated elite like no one we have ever seen.
Not George W Bush. No, they just mocked him. Reagan? there was some fear there- but he was just a dotty old actor, right?
But Ms Palin is a different breed altogether. Forget what the nabobs say. She is smart, capable, determined- has done more in her 44 years than any ten of these 'Hah- vard' types do in a lifetime- and is just smokin' hot to boot.
We suspect it is the latter- her sheer physical presence- when coupled with her populist appeal that gives them the shakes.
After all, didn't Germaine Greer, the Grande Dame of feminists say on the eve of her announcement as VP:

She had been in the public arena for all of 24 hours…

They don't know any other way of describing her. She's been made their enemy, no matter what she does from here on out. But I think it's more that she is a symbol for what this country (the bulk of it at least) is looking for. The Left has taken the graduate course of Symbolism Over Substance, and when Palin comes along actually representing what she symbolizes, they have no clue how to effectively counteract the following she gets from being truthful, other than to hurl invectives.

I'd like anyone out there to tell me WHY they think she is dangerous…she isn't in any political position, doesn't hold any title with power, and she isn't going around inciting violence or hate, unlike Obama's minions in the SEIU… so, from a commonsense POV what is it that the left finds so threatening and initimidating about a pretty little lady like Ms. Palin? (Please stick to actual POLICIES instead of attacking mannerisms, faith, and physical appearance)
A quick note on Mexico City: it is more than a bit ridiculous that they're focusing on such weird issues, but women have it rough in Mexico. It isn't just whistling. It's perfectly acceptable for a man to grab a woman's ass while they're on the street – Mexico is a very macho culture. This is slowly changing. I think the women there will take any small help they can get.
They talk up how "dangerous" she is so we'll put her up in 2012. And I'll be forced to vote Democrat for the second time in my life.
Can we please get the religious wack jobs out of our party and focus on the economy, the constitution, and education? Otherwise we'll just get more and more fringe until a third party becomes viable again. Over the last decade, Republican office holders have become the brand name for anti-science and railing against gay marriage while getting caught being adulterers or pedophiles. We're a two issue party and those two issues are way, way down the list of why we've been losing global standing in almost every field or standard of living.

Palin's deep belief in God is part of what makes her honest, strong, trustworthy and a person with convictions that she actually stands by as opposed to the liberals. Let us not forget that the 2nd amendment has been twisted by Progressives for the last 100 years- read it and understand it- Palin is closer to our founding fathers than anyone on the political scene today.

Ahh, so maybe Republicans should be more like Democrats to appeal to all of the middle-of-the-road types? Didn't work in the last election, and I would hope that the Republicans won't be goaded into choosing a candidate that would be more palatable to the left than to Conservatives. It's called leadership – finding the right person that can lead, and then the middle-of-the-road types and the undecideds will follow. The two issues sound like they're more important to you than to other conservatives who are for strengthening this country, willing to defend it, bolstering the economy and improving the lives of the citizens of this land. I'm more for having a country that is respected because of its strength – both physical and moral, than one that will appease and accommodate just to get along.

Liberals are absolutely okay with Sarah Palin as the Republican candidate as pure political calculus. In a more sympathetic sense, it's not great to see a section of the electorate marginalize itself with a careerist ignoramus, but it's a free country.

Although Sarah is a victim in the sense of getting vicious press, from the State Run media types. I don't sense that Sarah considers herself to be a victim. That's not what I was suggesting. She is a politician and she seems to be able to take it. The State run media types can only dish it out.

I don't think Sara is dangerous but why did she go on Opras s show and what about the book signing where she did not apologize to the people she turned away? When you are unable to govern because you are spending your entire time fighting bogus ethics complaints and your state is effectively without a working leader, then common sense dictates you hand over the reins to your deputy and leave the office so that the job can be done by someone who isn't so hampered. I think any self respecting person who posts on here has read those things. I have, no need to remind me. But all I'm getting at is this. She is a politician. Don't trust them. Don't act like shes one of us, because we both know she's not. Politicians should just be politicians and leave it at that, they shouldnt try to hide it. Even Reagan, Lincoln, the founding Fathers, had deep, deep flaws and when you approach this stuff like they are anything more than corrupt Human beings, when you look to them for your hope, your no better than the Liberals who do the same damn thing.

I don't want another Weak Governor who talks to his Conservative Ideals, but Sells out his Ideals on the Chopping block, IE George Bush and the Economy.
I dont want someone who is like me, who is "Of the people", who is Interesting in her personal life.
Palin feeds off of media attacks. The more she plays up how the media attacks her, the more her Fan Base likes her. She spends allot of time talking about the viscous media smear campaign, and that endears her to her supporters.
I just think, shes playing the victim, just not in the traditional sense.
I find it hilarious that the MSM puts up such a fuss about Sarah Palin…LOL!! They are shooting themselves in the foot every time they try to discredit her! The more they bad mouth her the more she looks good to mainstream America! SHE IS ONE OF US and they can't stand it!! It's too late to put the Jeanie back in the bottle now..they should have realized that, if they had left her alone, maybe she wouldn't be so popular…just kidding, she is more Presidential material than Obama could ever be! Palin/Beck 2012!!!!!!!!! Someone needs to make bumper stickers that say that!!
I was at a book store the other day, and was glancing at the cover of her book. Three women, of various ages walked by. The older lady said something like, "I would never buy that book." There was some additional hate-filled blah blah thrown in to which one of the younger women said, "I would burn it." As they sauntered off, I picked up the book, and considered buying it in response to the ladies' nastiness.
That night, I happened upon Joy Behar's show, and watched her discuss Ms. Palin with Judge Judy. Joy was mad too…..to the point that she called Ms. Palin a "liar" and even had the gall to question Sarah Palin's intelligence. To her credit, Judge Judy did not fully dive into the pool of "let's trash Sarah". I did not stick around to watch for more, but was again amazed by the reaction to this person.
I am rebellious in a closeted sort of way, so all of this hatred towards one lady makes me want to know more about her. Heck, I even want to invite her to our house for Thanksgiving. I just want to see what all the fuss is about. I guess I will just have to go back and buy that book. I hope the ladies are there, with their mouths hanging open as I gleefully place my cash on the counter.

The left always mindlessly attacks what they fear. And they are very very afraid of Sarah. Of course all corruptocrats like Pelosi, Murtha, Jefferson, Geitner, Reid, Dodd, Fwank… all the corrut better be very afraid because by her record she will GET you!
