Let’s admit that Carter, Clinton, Maher, Garofalo and a host of others are right and that we are just a bunch of low IQ, knuckle dragging, mouth-breathing, inbred, sheet wearing racists.
There I said it. I feel better already. It’s time to fess up that it isn’t about our beliefs or principles, or morality or the Constitution. It’s all about race. We conservatives have feigned our approval of Michael Steele, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder and a host of other Black conservatives for far too long. We reject Ward Connerly, Niger Innis, Shelby Steele, Armstrong Williams and Kenneth Blackwell. Who needs them!
The leftist are correct:
If Obama were a white guy we would all be in favor of a government takeover of our health care system and happy to stand in the government line and take whatever medical care the left deemed sufficient to dole out to us. We would favor “Cap and Trade” and be happy to kick in a bunch more dough for our heating oil to keep our kids warm in the winter. We would believe in global warming and wouldn’t mind that Al Gore has made more money off of carbon than all the coal mines in West Virginia.
If Obama were a white guy we would be in favor of turning our Constitution over to the United Nations; love it when our President bows to the King of Saudi Arabia and makes nice with minor dictators like Castro and Chavez; be in favor of the government takeover of GM and regulating private sector pay checks; happy to walk away from the war on terror; support getting the Gitmo detainees into this country and making all illegal aliens citizens tomorrow…
If Obama were a white guy we would even be happy to quote from the Little Red Book.

I don't particularly like Steele, I think he doesn't stand strong enough for Conservative values and he's a little too populist. But he's no more an Affirmative Action representative than Obama was. He was just as qualified (if not more so) than many other people up for the job.
Liberals wonder why in the world Sowell, Williams, Cain et al could ever leave the plantation that the Democratic party has created for them.
The Democrat's cries of racism are used to energize their ignorant base who'll believe the dissent really is about race. It works for them. But it's also important to recognize that they use this type of attack to prolong the viability of their own liberal policies, their own Democratic platform. The strength of the leftist policies require and yearn for racism to be rampant and obvious (welfare, race-based affirmative action, entitlements to "ensure equality," etc.), so Democrats who say its about race aren't simply trying to quell the debate, they're ensuring their own continued power and sway over others who believe in the power of things like "aversive racism" to make even things that can't possibly be race-based really about race.
If I based my theories of life and politics on the idea that it's impossible for a particular group or groups of people to be treated equally unless I become a watchdog to decide the outcome of the lives of those I'm "protecting," you can bet that my cries of bigotry about people who disagreed with me would be not only to hide the truth of people's objections, but that I'd need those "at risk" groups to keep voting for me so I could prolong the power I lust for so strongly.
Just think about it.

Can we begin to put an end to this, and by 'this' I mean the co-opting of the liberal narrative of conservatives as a means to defend ourselves.

MLK's dream was that skin color would not be used as a determinant to one's character values, but as we have seen, liberals use the words "racist" and "bigot" to try and silence all argument. As a result, these words have been cheapened to the point where no one knows the true definition of them anymore- kind of like blacks calling their women "hos"- a derogatory term, but one that has lost it's sting, indeed it's true connotations through overuse.
Their have been "special privileges" for blacks- that would be called "affirmative action", and I know several blacks that resent this "AA"- because the implication is that they might not have gotten where they are on their own merits- that they were "given" that job, or position because they were less than competent, but happened to have the "correct" skin color.
This is a slur against blacks themselves, but many blacks don't know that others, many of them liberals, treat blacks as if they were 'slow" or "challenged", and couldn't do for themselves.

The sad thing is that, prior to affirmative action, Blacks WERE on the road to economic parity with whites. Until the passage of the Great Society policies of LBJ in the 60's, black unemployment was actually LOWER than white unemployment. That's why unions favored minimum wage legislation to "help" the underpriveleged by making entry-level jobs disappear. Black households were mostly intact, two-parent families. The Great Society destroyed that Black family cohesion.
Blacks SHOULD be angry, but not at conservatives.
If Michael Steele was picked because he is black, it would be horrifying. It might be a factor, unfortunately, but not the reason he is chairman of the RNC. I personally believe race should have nothing to do with the conversation at all, but the Dems use race more than anyone. It is an attack tool and a way for them to bring the debate to a more emotional level, which is where Dems thrive, using emotional arguments and insults to drive home their usually baseless and inaccurate points. Lets raise the bar for them, since they will never release their death-grip on that race card.

Blacks were enslaved by other blacks, in a slave-based economy that thrived for over two thousand years before the first white slave ship showed up. When they did, they brought so much disease, they wouldn't let them off the ships, forcing them to pick slaves from what were rowed out to them in their waiting ships. It is an "Ellis Island " name or a name mistakenly put on a document when the actual immigrant name was long or difficult and the clerk substituted the city or origin. "Jenna" the most common spelling for the girls name is from the Polish word for woman.
