Re-read NYT v. Sullivan. "Actual malice" is a term of legal art. It doesn't merely mean "the present intent to do another harm," but also includes reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity of the statement. In this case, the fact that CNN fact-checked SNL doesn't matter a whole lot, since in this case, they are charged with at least not giving a fig about the truth of the matter. Far more important, I would guess, is the fact that the quotes parrotted by CNN's reporters as true were easily determined to be form a single Wikipedia source, which itself was unsourced. Therefore, their use and repetition of such quotes would be reckless disregard for the truth of those quotes. FWIW.

You might remember the car dealer who made International new for his promotion giving away AK47s with the purchase of a Truck.

He’s back in the news again and this time it doesn’t involve guns, but there’s definitely a political statement being made.

This same car guy is now protesting against the NFL because of the whole Rush Limbaugh/St. Louis Rams ordeal.

Sorry…I'm pretty crunchy/lefty, and while I'm sure I passionatel disagree with everything the evil master capitalist robber baron owners did to steal their wealth from the suffering proletariat, I'm still going to watch the NFL. It's chess with big sweaty guys in tight pants! I love it!

Olberman's audience is so small compared to Rush's, that I seriously think most viewers have no idea who he is or what his day job is. He pisses off waaaay fewer people than Rush.

Hey Jack – not long after I moved down here I signed up with Direct TV and as part of their inducement, they gave me a free season of HD Sunday ticket so I could catch every Eagles game. The next year, is the year they missed the playoffs and I decided not to shell out the $250-$300 (even though in some ways, that is not a bad value.) Now, about the only time I see the Birds is when they are on a national game. The "local" team is the Titans and I've always been a Jeff Fisher fan ever since his days with the Eagles as Buddy Ryan's protoge. Of course, I'm not worth two cents today after staying up and watching the Fighting Phils clinch the pennant last night. Can you imagine the everday lineup paired with Lee and an "on-form" Hamels and Lidge? As much as I loved Schmidt and the Bull, this team is probably the best Phillies team ever. They are relentless

Jed, It sure sounds like we shared the same turf. On a field trip to the Franklin Museum, I got on the wrong bus and ended up in Roxborough. Talk about panic! Indeed, that dime for the call did come in handy.
Did you see them against the Raiders last weekend? They made abumbling and astumbling into an embarrassing artform – now those Phils:)
