Mr. Jena, what about Justice Thomas? Was he nominated by President George H.W. Bush because he was the most qualified candidate for the Supreme Court in 1991 to replace Thurgood Marshall? Or, did the Bush justice department nominate him because he was a very conservative African-American whose race and personal story it felt could overcome otherwise insurmountable ideological objections? Justice Sotomayor graduated summa cum laude from Princeton. She was the editor of the Yale Law Review. She was a highly respected prosecutor in New York City prior to becoming a judge on the federal bench in 1992. I am unaware of any scholastical honors Justice Thomas received while attending college at Holy Cross or law school at Yale. After his tenure at the EEOC, Justice Thomas was nominated to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, where he remained for less than two years prior to being nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court. Contrast that with Judge Sotomayor's 17 years on the federal bench. Really, Mr. Jena, are you you serious?

I suppose you would like me to thank the Board of Review at my doctor’s office when they don’t allow my family pediatrician to perform surgery on my mother?

The Supreme Court statistically reverses three fourths of all cases. In the 2nd circuit the percent of reversal is 74%.

Did you know Samuel Alito had been reversed 100% of the time when he was nominated?

He was obviously qualified and it should be noted that the progressives didn’t even bring up that argument. Good on them, not so much for you.

Please find a more applicable measurement for judicial qualifications.

For starters, 2 of them put Bush in the White House in 2000. That gave us 9/11, the war in Iraq, and the economic disaster of 2008. The 5 judges in Bush v. Gore violated the constitution.

The 2 new ones appointed by Dubya have shown throughout their career a pattern of inconsistencies…

The American people are entitled to a court that supports the constitution, instead of tearing it down.

Your four heroes all voted in favor of the Cheney thugs holding human beings prisoner forever with no rights. At least swing voter Justice Kennedy was man enough to oppose them on that case.
