Lies Obama Told Me
by Jeffrey JenaRemember way back in 2008 when George Bush was still the President and everyone on the left was screeching about lies? If you can’t remember that far back just flip over to MSNBC and wait a few minutes they’ll be happy to remind you. I thought I would write a short piece about the lies we have already heard from President Obama. I did little research and there are plenty of websites that focus on a lot of picayune stuff and things from long ago.
I decided to stick to direct quotes from the President within the last 18 months. Some I have commented on, the others, as they say at Harvard Law, res ipsa loquitur.
1) ”…not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t — not because I’m not mindful of the massive debt we’ve inherited — I am.” Speech to Congress, February 24, 2009
2) “And that is why I have ordered the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay and will seek swift and certain justice for captured terrorists…” Speech to Congress, February 24, 2009
3) “My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs.” I wonder if the President knows he doesn’t have a line item veto.
4) “My immediate task is making sure that the second half of that money, $350 billion, is spent properly. That’s my first job.” Press conference February 9, 2009, talking about TARP money.
5) ”It also contains an unprecedented level of transparency and accountability, so that every American will be able to go online and see where and how we’re spending every dime. What it does not contain, however, is a single pet project, not a single earmark, and it has been stripped of the projects members of both parties found most objectionable.” Press conference February 9, 2009 talking about his own economic bill.
6) “Second is recognition of the limits of the judicial role, an understanding that a judge’s job is to interpret, not make law, to approach decisions without any particular ideology or agenda, but rather a commitment to impartial justice…” I thought about putting this first because he was introducing Sotomayor who is on tape saying judges make policy, among other things.
7) “It’s not just enough to change the players. We’ve gotta change the game.” He has appointed over 150 recycled Clintionistas
8) ”I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying.” Either this is a lie or his later position where he opposes gay marriage, take your pick for number eight.
9) “I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community.” In reference to Rev. Wright 42 days before he disowned him.
10) “To those Americans whose support I have yet to earn: I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President, too.”

I've come to believe that Obama himself is no longer sure when he's lying, when he's not, or which lie he is telling on any particular day. Oh what a tangled web he weaves.
How about the lie when he promised to take only public campaign funds, then raised 750mil of private funds?

The problem is that with most modern liberals, they want to be all TO all, and somewhere in that gray area you're going to end up lying to someone or everyone. "If you don't believe in something you'll fall for anything" and that's an Obama supporter who bought it hook, line and sinker and continue to do so. They fit like a glove.
At least as Republicans, we got tired of Bush spending like he was Democrat. We voiced our opinions and opposition to it. I don't think a lot of these people will ever come out of their purple haze and admit that he's taking us to a completely red national flag.
Let's just get it all out on the table. The guy's a disaster. He'll make the peanut farmer look good.

When doesn't Obama lie?
You say "many of these are not lies." So are you actually admitting that SOME of these are lies??? Then (2nd sentence), "and now Obama." So you admit that BHO has lied, and is therefore a liar. (But it's okay, because you say all presidents lie. What a smokescreen)!
That's not a lie, that's just insanity.
The centerpiece and most important lie was the public financing pledge. Some may not remember that campaign ethics was once the entire premise of his campaign. Few even pretended at the time that he had any real experience to be president. It was only his ethical freshness which commended him (i.e., beyond his youth, race and speechmaking gifts). His only claim to senatorial experience was his brief, so-called work on finance reform (the epitaph for which, upon his ignominous drop-out at the orders of Harry Reid, was provided in a wonderfully sarcastic letter from John McCain). So this was the lie that begat all the rest — the first mark of a hollow man who would say anything without the slightest fear of accounting.
And let us not forget his lie to the people of Illinois when he said he would not run for president in his first term as senator because, in his own words, he lacked "experience."
This actually explains a lot. I've seen interview after interview with dealers who are in Chrysler's top 10% of profitability but are being shut down and can't get an explanation of how they were chosen.

Thing is that the American Idol voters don't give a damn if THE ONE is lying. They eat it up like candy. They will believe Obama even if all his schemes fail. He is the epitome of 'too big to fail'.

ModDem you’re always a good counterpoint or nudge if you will, a relativism argument, “who doesn’t lie?” First you have to accept the premise that everyone lies.
What will history show? History will show that Pres. Bush kept Americans safe for the remaining years after 9-11; by foiling many major terrorist plots, and taking it to them overseas before they could bring it here. If that's your idea of a "bad" president, you live with it. History remains to be seen just how safe we will be under this POTUS. That should be a lot more sobering thought for you libs than you're allowing it to be.
See, this is what bothers me – the "When Clinton lied about having sex it was pretty insignificant". Libs still fail to see that it was not the "lie", but the "under oath" part of that issue. But when he was deposed, he was "under oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth". That's what makes it not that "insignificant".
And as for Bush. Is using unknown faulty information really considered a lie? Doesn't there have to be intent to deceive? I realize you said that you are not "calling Bush a liar", but isn't that a lie?

The day Obama took office America rolled over into a screaming dive straight towards the ground – do you really think we're going to survive that plunge by merely waiting till he leaves office? He ties himself into knots condemning Bush on, let's say, warrantless wiretapping, and then backtracks tracks right back to allowing warrantless wiretapping. Bad under Bush, Good on Obama. Lots of knot tying and backtracking. Or maybe those knots are just bows. Obama is only repackaging the same policies and wrapping them up in lots of bows and glitter. So if Bush had wrapped his policies with bows and added glitter, they would have been better?

Take President Bush. He didn't lie us into a war. That is the BIG LIE manufactured by the lying Dems and the lying media in order to discredit the President and to get their power back. and it was told often enough and loud enough until it came to be believed by many people. Once again, it was the Dems lying, as usual, not President Bush.

Actually, Obama got 69 million out of 306 million in the US. The rest were too young, ineligible, or disinterested to vote. That means that less than 23% of Americans are on record as agreeing with him, and if the polls are to be believed, at least 10 million of the 69 million are thinking they made a mistake.

I have too Andrew. I watched a guy in FL a couple of weeks ago now, being interviewed and he said that his dealership has ALWAYS profited and yet he's being squeezed out. Something just isn't right with all of these closings. obama SUCKS.

I saw a gut on CNBC a couple days after the announcement. He said that for the past five years, he'd been in the top 1% of dealers in terms of sales and profits (so he's not dumping the cars just to move them). He's never been out of the top 10% in either category in 20 some years. He'd also won all kinds of awards from Chrysler. Moreover, his dealership was alone in a large area, so it wasn't an oversaturated market.
Yet, they cut him, and they refused to explain it to him. Additionally, they refused to agree to provide a continuing service agreement (which apparently has always been done in the past), so that he could continue to service the cars he'd sold in the area throughout the years. Everyone was scratching their heads about this. Now it suddenly makes sense.

There is something drastically wrong with this administration and people on the left are choosing to ignore it all. I don't understand why when everything that is being done is going to affect them as well as the right. No one is going to be exempt from the fallout that is sure to come from these policies.

I more or less agree with what ModDem says. The party out of power calls the current President every name they can think of. So, when they call Clinton a liar and Bush a liar and Obama a liar, it really doesn't mean much too me. Why? Because they are all politicians doing what politicians do: telling people whatever it takes to get you to give them power.
To be fair, the point of this article may not have been to prove that Obama is the biggest liar of them all. Rather, it may be to point out to the hardcore Bush-haters/Obama-supporters that Barack is not a different kind of politician. In fact, he is a rather ordinary one.

It was my understanding a Blackberry could keep track of such things. Perhaps it is true he actually has a simpler secure device inside a Blackberry case. Which would allow him to appear to have kept that particular pledge. Has he been seen using it for email since the inauguration? There was the legal matter about the retention of White House email which a personal device would seem to circumvent, and due to it that pledge was at odds with other pledges concerning honesty and transparency.
Like the enabling parent that denies their child's bad behavior in school, ModDem provides an instructive profile of exactly what the liberal mindset cultivates. Plausible deniability in all things – manufactured blame of those that differ and can reasonably demonstrate a point that serves most that don't fall into the category of societal parasite. There is however one truth in what the poster admits, that he is a child. Alas, a dangerous one…and isn't that the type of sociopathic narcissist that responsible adults are surrounded by? Simply read the bleating responses ModDem 'counters' with throughout this entire thread. Its sad for sure. We must weed all of these people out and take them to the woodshed for a long overdue ass whipping. The alternative is to allow these tyrannical to continue to run roughshod over all good people.
