You might want to try clicking the correct reply button. I dislike coming to these threads and finding you're responding to something someone else wrote. Of course, having read Jerry's comment, I find you presuming things he did not say. Feel relieved: no one is going to force you to have a gun, but I guess you're one of the "if it's not forbidden it's mandatory" sort of folks who have a problem with the concept of choice. Oh, and life isn't Fight Club so try dropping the childish "I thought you were tough" rationales for whether or not you might own a gun. You might also want to look up the term "projection" and ponder a bit. Oh and this is trite: Also, If I call the police, I bet you a million dollars that they will show up at my house because it is their job. Will you be able to collect the money? Why are you so angry? If I disagree with you on one point, why am I an evil Liberal? For gun lovers, you are pretty scared of a pantywaist. If you're so tough, why do you need a gun to protect yourselves? Oh, that's right, it's because other people have guns, so you need guns, so everybody should have guns.

Also, If I call the police, I bet you a million dollars that they will show up at my house because it is their job. The case referred to earlier saying that the police do not have a duty to protect you is one in which the Supreme Court ruled that the gov't could not be sued in a 1983 suit for not enforcing a restraining order. It is quite a stretch to say that the police will not protect you due to that ruling. I don't know about you, but the police department in my city is still fully operational. And another thing, as long as the Sup. Ct is constituted as it currently is, gun rights will not be limited further. Even if Obama gets a law passed, this court will strike it down — judicial activism is great when it's in your favor, right?

I don't think this is a very good critique of the episode. I really enjoy 60 min, and though they certainly have a bias, it's not like the author here was without a bias. Should we only seek information from those who think like we do? Were there any good points made in the piece about gun control? I think so. The guy who bought the guns was just showing how easy it is to get them. How does arresting him solve the bigger problem of people getting assault rifles without id? Was that just leftist loony talk? I wish this author let his own bias shine a little less brightly.

Oh, btw. You really need to read the VPC/Brady Bunch talking points manual more carefully. It's assault WEAPON, i.e., semi-automatic weapon that's all black and military-looking so it's easy to fool people like you into thinking they're a horrifying (full-automatic) menace that you'll want the nice government to make go away.
