Excuse Me, Your Leftism is Showing
by Jeffrey JenaOn March 2nd there was a demonstration in Washington D.C. It was billed as the largest demonstration for green power/global warming awareness/stop dirty coal/ let’s all go live in a tepee, ever held. It was attended by, (are you ready for the number?), 2,500 people. That was the largest one ever! This demonstration was covered by every major television and news service. No station or alleged newspaper gave any coverage to opposing opinions. Ironically there was a blizzard that day another fact which, to the best of my knowledge, was not noted by any major news outlet.
Thirteen days later one of the first of the grassroots “Tea Parties” was held in Cincinnati Ohio. Over five thousand average middle-class folks showed up on Fountain Square in the center of the city. Their message was simple, we can’t afford our government! Did you see it on CNN? Maybe you caught it on ABC or MSNBC? If you did you need to check the strength of your prescriptions, it wasn’t on any of them. In fact, the overwhelming success of this protest against rampant, run away big government was one of the inspirations for yesterday’s national day of protest. But unless you live in Cincinnati you probably never heard about it.
In thousands of cities and towns across America, hundreds of thousands of plain folks came out into the streets to say. “Enough!” This was not a protest against any party or person in particular but against a paradigm in governments from Washington D.C. to the local city halls that assume there is no end to the amount of money we are willing to kick in.
You wouldn’t know that from the coverage. Everyone from CNN to MSNBC to my local paper went out of their way to make it seem like anyone who attended one of these gatherings was a right-wing extremist! Right-wing extremist, hummm where have I heard that term lately? Wasn’t there some sort of government document leaked to the public the day before all these Tea Parties? I am not a believer in coincidence, especially in politics. I believe that the Department of Homeland Security report was released in an effort to intimidate some citizen and keep them from attending the anti-tax rallies.
These demonstrations were too many and too big to be ignored so the leftists in the media moved to their second tactic, belittle and mock. I am sure that you may have seen alleged journalist from Anderson Cooper to Susan Roesgen to Keith Obermann mocking you and your beliefs. Belittling your efforts to make your voices heard. I personally have had enough of a mediocre sportscaster passing himself off as an intellectual. His program would be alright if it were on the proper cable channel at the proper time: Comedy Central sandwiched in between Stewart and Colbert. It would probably also get better ratings.

i pictured them later that night in a collective safe room hiding from the hammer that's coming for them. sure they were still talking about (and demonstrating?!) teabagging, but there was definitely a growing uneasiness running through their janeane garofalo approved jabs. one fears what one doesn't understand.

I think the obvious media bias from most of the networks was a good thing, another positive offshoot from the Tea Parties. Now even more people will get their news elsewhere. Way to go, CNN!
http://the100mostannoyingthings.blogspot.com/
As satisfying as the tea parties were they haven't done much to get things changed. What we need is a tea party the day before the 2010 election so that the energy and focus of the event can be channeled into action. Instead of throwing tea in a harbor, the new tea party can throw tax raising politicians out of office. That would be more meaningful than venting anger over a year from being able to make real changes in our corrupt political institutions.
The national news media is a lost cause, as we are all well aware. I attented a rally by accident. I was driving through downtown and suddenly there were people everywhere. The number of people was astounding, in the thousands. And the LOCAL media was present – all outlets represented. So when the citizenry sits down at night to watch the news, they usually watch the local and national – back to back. So most of them DID hear about it, and most likely know people who went (I excitedly told all my relatives how I signed the giant sized copy of the Declaration of Independence) A giant crowd of people is still news in middle America!
Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Andrew Breitbart know all the people to help make this a real tidal wave of action. I hope someone picks up on this idea. We could have tea parties leading up to the big one the day before the 2010 election.
Great idea — amen to that!
I heard talk of another similar protest/march in DC on July 4th. I wonder if there's any truth to that.
I am sure we will, but it's a long road to 2010. Next up Independence Day Tea Party in D.C.
I just thought of something. The major "news" people are laughing at the relatively small groups of people that showed up to the tea parties. Well, usually, if there's a lefty protest organized by Soros et al, it's in one place. Everyone goes there. The people aren't spread out. I've been hearing over 300,000, but at least 250,000 showed up on April 15th. Small groups, lots of places. If that's not grassroots, I have no idea what could be. Sorry if I'm late to the obvious party, but my brain just turned on.
How about if Hannity does a countdown to the 2010 tea party. He could do one of his big concerts with all the star power that he knows behind it.
Media can mock. Pelosi can call us Astro-turf supported. Obama can listen to Chavez and Putin and ignore what is happening on his front yard. We will gather and get larger and louder and soon many fools will be out of office. We will take this country back before the Dems and Republicans spend us into the national poverty.
For 2 days now, my comments are being deleted within minutes. Why BH? I'm being a good boy.
Not Over.
This post reminds me of something a friend of mine told me on April 15th. She was telling me her daughter was at the grocery store, and asked the lady behind her in line if she was going to the tea party that afternoon. This woman told her no, because "they put people in concentration camps for that."
My initial reaction was "what tosh!" (well, not precisely "tosh"), but then thinking about the Homeland Security document that just came out, and the reaction of the national views networks, not to mention the reaction of some of these elected officials, I'm wondering if that lady's fears might not be exactly "tosh."
And yes, it's a warm fuzzy thrill up my leg to know that our elected officials are so concerned with the opinions of dictators than they are with the opinions of the very people they were elected to serve.
Mainstream media does not control the flow of information any more, so these officials should watch their butts or they'll find themselves back in the private sector.
Just as long as we KEEP IT UP! Not every week or even month, but every few months or 6 mos.
4th of July, Independence Day is good. Most people get off.
Labor Day may be okay
Thanksgiving Day AFTER is a great time too. Most people get off that day!
Tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell everyone!
Republicans and democrats: and Independents too
Liberals and conservatives: and moderates!
EVERYONE should be repulsed by what our governments (Fed, State and Local) are doing with OUR money!
The Tea Parties did amazingly well this week. These thing build momentum on their own, slowly. All that's needed to keep the momentum growing, like the commercial used to say….."they told 2 friends, and then they told 2 friends and then……" get the picture? It's great that Hannity & Levin & others in the media talk about the parties with truth and enthusiasm. But it would be wrong to try and get them involved beyond the postive reporting. Otherwise the charges about the Parties being "Astro-turf" will look a whole lot more valid. Just keep telling regular folks about what the Parties are and what they mean and they will keep going and growing.
MSNBC-CNN-ABC-CBS-NBC responds, “I’m sorry Mr. Jena, we weren’t listening, did you say something?…MAKEUP!
Not Over.
They're doing a good job of keeping me extremely angry. The kind of angry that makes me participate, donate money, and man phone banks. I'm not much of a participator by nature, but even us Han Solo types pitch in when it comes to fighting the Empire. If they were trying to create as strong a backlash from the normals as they possibly could, they couldn't play their cards any better. These fascists are going down. It is very personal now. They are all going to spend the rest of their lives hiding under rocks commiserating with their fellow narcissistic fascists about how the bad guys won. I don't care what it takes. The purpose of my life from the middle of 2010 till November is to convince as many people as I possibly can to vote Republican. And I'm doing plenty to push that now. Turn your anger into action. And SPEAK UP. Nobody can hurt you for doing it, at least not yet. Exercise your freedom to speak before you lose it. Stand up. Now.
Imagine, folks getting together to urge the Feds be responsible, not waste money and not indebt our grandchildren forever.
Surely, we needed to be put in chains and taken away. Oh, and yes, we are ALL racists.
No doubt. I was just on the tea party site, and they're already planning for the next rally on May 30, and then the big one on July 4. This is exactly what needs to be happening; keep them going…swell them to impossible-to-be-ignored proportions. It's hard for the media to try and sweep something that gargantuan under the rug, and if they do, they'll be further exposing their own blatant Statism.
I believe that it is entirely unfair of you to disparage Keith Olbermann for his remarks concerning those who attended the tea parties. It is entirely possible that his Mommy forgot to wash his jammies the day before and little Keithy just couldn't get his proper sleep.
Which is a greater breach of journalistic integrity, lightly covering an event or coordinating, sponsoring and MC'ing the events that you cover?
For those who didn't see Red Eye last night, the best comment of the evening came from Pinch (The Magic New York Times Newspaper). They had just shown a clip of Jeanine Barfolo calling everybody who participated in the Tea Party a racist. They cut to Pinch, expecting him to agree with Barfolo. Instead, with his best upper westside accent, the talking newspaper said "That skank? She has more ink on her than I do!"
There was another great comment the other night on Redeye about the media's treatment of the tea parties. I can't quote it exactly, but it was along the lines of now the media no longer has to pretend that they aren't the elite.
The tea party / conservative movement is desperately casting about for a leader. Would somebody in the Republican establishment please step up? We can't wait until 2011 for a Romney or Palin or Santorum or McCotter to suddenly announce for the presidential nomination. Reagan would not have stood in the shadows, afraid of being criticized by the MSM. As R Lee Ermey might say, "Grow a pair…"!
We had a tea party in Greenville SC last night with an attendance upwards of 3000 people. On the same property there was a protest to make Gov. Sanford accept the $700 million for schools, by a local radio station. They had 250 people in attendance. The tea party movement will continue to gain momentum. As a minority, I resent the opinion that I am racist, because I believe in being responsible for my own actions, and expecting others to be held responsible for theirs. It's time we held our government officials accountable for the asinine decsions they are making.
Apologies to Mrs. Palin.
3 parts: (TimeBomb by Beck)
Okay….so Drudge and Breitbart are the true muleskinners of news in my world. We still need CNN and their leftist brethren. My news diet consists of any and all sources for a full and complete picture. Yours should be too. Imagine a world where Bill O’reilly is the face of all news! Of course…..the man is excellent in my book….but what if he were to have a bad day and want to miss-use his audience to obtain a political objective?
What if all the president’s advisors were leftist’s? What if Homeland Security were to be infiltrated by a leftist feminist agenda? What if they had the ear of the Executive Branch? What if that granted them immunity and control of the Justice Department and the collection branch of the USA? How to use the Democrat controlled house in order to check mate with legislation? Dangerous Liasons? Now, disseminate information for the public’s news diet on CNN while silencing opposition pressure backed by legal consequence. You guys are just passing it back after 8 years of a Bush admin. What happens when that toy gets boring?
In the meantime Pelosi leads a committee to investigate Wall Street and there is a meeting to decide if a certain corporate owned media source is portraying an undesirable view of the president. Not CNN, but a news source with Right leaning tendency. Big Hollywood couldn’t have come up with a better plot….this one is real life. The only way to win this fight from the ground up is to rebel and cooperate. In this case the common goal is Civil Rights and the soul of the United States. Lets wrestle the devil. LDRSHIP Now! (Homewerk, Daft Punk) Based on this fictional plot….project outward in policy and predict the effect on the rest of the world. Where will we be in 20 years and who’s flag will be flying? Too many questions. (Season of the Witch, The Essential Donovan)
"I do not like you…you are not to speak!"
And, still NO PIE Auntie.
Not Over.
I had written off the MSM a long time ago. I haven't watched CNN or MSNBC in years and that was pretty much that. But the "coverage" of the tea parties brought the MSM to a new low. I found the gleefully derisive attitudes and constant references to "teabagging" to be vile and inexcusable. I've been seething ever since and all I want to know is, how do we destroy those networks? The idea that that kind of bias and misinformation is allowed to be broadcast is frightening in the extreme.
I loved the comments from this article/post because they mirror mine completely: I have HAD it with these idiots calling themselves 'journalists' and belittling everything and I mean EVERYTHING that we hold dear in this country. They do not seem to get that their ratings are telling them something and continue to bash what IS America for their own leftist agenda. They INTEND to change this country forever and we had better realize it and do something about it. I think that is one of the reasons the Tea Parties were and are so successful. People get it now that the left in the media, on the internet and in Washington do NOT have the best interests of AMERICANS at heart.
They intend to rule and intend to rule us ALL. Obama is a complete idiot and this country elected him. Why were the media allowed to get away with hiding who he really is. Why was John McCain so weak and why was HE the choice of the Republicans? The Republicans are weak and besotted with Washington elitism. THEY need to go and everyone who does not embrace the founding principles of this country. That goes for the media , too. I agree most of them belong on the trash heap, but Comedy Central will do for now! I want Sarah Palin. Joe The Plumber.Rush Limbaugh.Bobby Jindal. ANYBODY who can articulate the conservative voice. And NOW not three years from now.
Honey, stop playing with the internet and come bake some pie. You do know how to bake pie right?
Actualy….how do we enable those networks? How do we pump them so FULL of bs that the public catches up? How do we push THEM off the edge of that cliff and into the ocean?
If this were ancient Greece, I would suggest that you angered the gods. But this isn't ancient Greece, so you're probably ok.
Judging by the massive number of layoffs, our elitist friends in the MSM may find themselves unemployed sooner rather than later. And that's no bulltosh!
And like clockwork, here's antifascist (the most ironically named poster in all of Big Hollywood) to shout the left's "Big Lie" about the tea parties; Fox created them.
FoxNews is the only news outlet that honestly covered the tea parties … its your lefty buddies at the rest of the MSM that are lying about them, just like they lie about everything else, just like you lie about everything else.
I just love what's happening here.
We've come to expect the teens to protest, sulk and whine, but when Dad finally loses his temper…?
The Left is FREAKING OUT.
Boycott anything and everything that has anything to do with the MSM, or any leftist cause for that matter. The best way to get the attention of any corporate or philanthropic entity is through the purse strings. Such as GE products, they own NBC. Any advertiser on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC. Most people already have but cancel all subscriptions to newspapers, Magazines, etc. If you have kids in college if they stray to far left, cut the money off etc. let them achieve nirvana on their own dime. We are fighting for the survival of the USA the hard left is the enemy. The money dries up they dry up.
This is a perfect example of a comment I would give a thumbs up
Now someone please subtract one from me
How about paying people to attend to beef up your numbers like ACORN does? None of those attending to protest were paid to be there. Speaking of which, are you paid to come here or do you just like the abuse? I mean, if you're just a masochist we can certainly crank up the mockery.
Steven Colbert is might funny; Jon Stewart can be funny (and wicked smart) when he doesn't go into his funnyfaces routine (like he did on Thursday's show, ripping the media outlets for becoming what they used to disdain); Keith Olbermann is just a pompous windtard (yes, we can tell the difference!); as for Janeane Garafolo, look for what's left of her career to completely dry up once 24 gets around to the inevitable killing off of her useless character…
Sorry Big Hollywood, but I almost forgot you have to add movies to the boycott list, Sean Penn, George Clooney, you know the bunch. On the flip side support right leaning movies, actors, etc., get busy BH!
Dinsdale!
LH is skank another technical word like nut?
Yep. I'm starting to put a technical manual together. I'm going to call it "How to Correct Liberals by Describing Them in Proper Technical Terms." The original working title was "Nutty Skanks Suck."
Ahh My good friend Anti
I am still wating for an answer to my last question, What, besides spending your mommy and daddy's money to stimulate the economy, have you ever done for your country?
Thats what Im talking about….art imitates life! I remember Sean Penn as an awesome actor…Fast Times! George clooney was awesome and I don't want to detract from the Hollywood bunch……keep making good movies
BTW…I have been watching Palin…..If I was a teenager….mmmmm
Jeffrey,
You're just going to confuse the poor dear, (again), and make her start pouting, and stamping her pretty little foot in defiance. (Maybe, even hold her breath till she turns blue…oops to late.)

Everyone complain to the FCC. I did regarding Anderson Cooper and Bathtub Boy Olbermann.
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumers.html
If everyone does it the networks will get hammered. I am also writing my State Attorney General.
No I believe Michael Steele, Bobby Jindal, Alfonzo Rachel, Ted Hayes, Lloyd Marcus, Jesse Lee Peterson and all the rest are very racist : )
Where as, I agree with your sentiment, I for one, am drawing a line in the sand NOW. I’m not going to wait 2 years, for this administration, to drag us all kicking and screaming into that black hole of Government domination, that 52% of the American cultist voters are hell bent on me, and mine living.
I call for El Degüello ➦ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Deg%C3%BCello

My fingers are spiders typing to change your mind. You live in a box and your tired. Why should you cave and land on spikes? That would hurt your butt. Where will you land? You american people should reject and remember your training. You should remember a greater good and participate. Turn that spider around…..slam it with a shoe. Rediculous…..poof. HaHa. Don't allow yourelves to be tortured….its silly and I know silly. If you are truely afraid of the mouse…get a cat and most important…..impose your god given ability to stand for all.
It’s good you’re beginning to grow up, and seeing things more clearly. Real maturity there auntie to recognize the syncopation of the MSM with the coronation of the Magnificent “O”
"I heard talk of another similar protest/march in DC on July 4th. I wonder if there's any truth to that."
I was hoping something like this was going to happen. I'd fly out with my 2 boys from Kalifornia it that was true.
Not Over.
Anderson Cooper was obscene with his teabagging comment. But if anyone should know about teabagging, in that context, Anderson Cooper is the person.
Pres Obama recently made this comment, "As surely as our future depends on building a new energy economy, controlling healthcare costs and ensuring that our kids are once again the best educated in the world, it also depends on restoring a sense of responsibility and accountability to our federal budget." For a guy who has spent/spends his life pursuing a political philosophy that destroys a sense of responsibility and accountability, I find the comment surreal. Given his leanings, I seriously question which programs he intends to control.
My husband and I wonder if it would be possible to get together a class action suit for slander or libel or defamation of character against Cooper or Olbermann or Maddow or all three for accusing all the Tea Party goers of homosexual pornographic activity. There were upwards of 10,000 at the Party in OP, KS with another 5000+ at the Liberty Memorial down the road in KC, MO. I don't how many traveled between the two events. And many of us who attended knew others who wished that they had gone. That's a lot of people to add to a lawsuit.
If Imus can get fired for one remark, then surely we should be able to demand Olberman's head on a platter for continuously referring to us with that remark.
Thanks Hawk, I’m taking notes! I have a good friend who is an attorney I’ll forward these pearls of wisdom, let’s see, “nut, skank.” got it. I’m sure he can use these in his cross examinations.
Oh please…just make fun of his increasingly orange skin and be done with it…
"Thanks for the Mmrs" Roman symbol for irrational. Bring it!
I just looked at the Red Eye video again (up top right now on this site). Pinch the Magic Newspaper also said that Garafolo's Asian tattoos actually spelled out "skank." So I have gotten from the Highest Authority–The New York Times. And who would ever doubt the New York Times? It would be tantamount to maligning the Spanish Inquisition.
I still have to watch last night's episode, it's on the DVR but for all the hate that Pinch gets, he amuses me.
I'm considering driving down to DC on the 4th, I may even call my mom up and have her make me a bunch of homemade pies to bring too.
Yeah her lack of pie is disturbing.
You did notice that the Garofalo segment is posted on the headers on this site under "Red Eye Rips Olbermann, Garofalo," right?
I'm sure they'll get a bailout so they can stay in business. "Because the press is the only profession mentioned in the Constitution doncha know?"
Unfortunately that's the *only* thing most in the press know about the Constitution.
[...] Big Hollywood: Excuse Me, Your Leftism is Showing [...]
Yesterday there was a time when I couldn't get anything to load up, or posts to stick. I blame Anderson Cooper.
Maybe there’s a way to link up with the Tea Party organizers who ever that is and begin a formal boycott of the advertisers with the MSM, that would include FOX. I can assure you that any corporate board in America, will freak out. Say a half million to a million, productive Americans signatures boycotting their products, hit’em in the pocket, it could be fun. For instance, Cargill, GM, advertise on CNN. GM that’s easy, Cargill however are into all sorts of things we could boycott, let’s show’em our teeth! Take no prisoners, bhwahhahahah…! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Yeah even some generally non-politically savvy people I know who watched the "coverage" on the MSM networks looked at what passed for "coverage" and said they found it either lacking, or downright offensive. So I predict yet another ratings bomb for them.
JRG3, great point you have. As I was reading your quote of Barry’s, I had to catch myself my head was going back and forth like I was watching a ping-pong match, weird!
Yes I did, but I like generally prefer watching Red Eye on my big TV as opposed to my smallish monitor. Especially when Diane Falzone is on…
Okay fine I'll watch the clip. Lawyers, I swear.
Oh, scientific! I new you had researched it well. TTFN the wife calls.
CNN's reporters actually appeared to be in mourning covering the Tea Parties; they looked like they were terrified of the normal folks they claim to represent. CNN lost the irony of the situation.
The MSM networks are destroying themselves as their audience continues to hemorrhage; the MSM is stabbing themselves in the back & slitting their own wrists. You don't have to do anything except watch.
I never let science interfere with my opinions, just as I never let facts get in the way of a good argument.
Pie you say? And I don't even have to fake an interest in Ishtar? Hmmm…
Pie you say? And I don't even have to fake an interest in Ishtar? Hmmm…
Anderson Cooper is a shallow, obnoxious prick. I'm gay & can't stand Anderson Cooper or Barney Frank.
Nope, I'm magnanimous with pie at protests.
Sadly, you're right.
[...] Excuse Me, Your Leftism is Showing – Jeffrey Jena [...]
The way I see it is that police and military have to do yearly qualifications to prove they can still do what they're supposed to do. So I wonder how the press would fare if they had to take a yearly test on the Constitution and journalistic ethics, with a failing grade meaning their press credentials were suspended until they could pass. It'd never happen, but it's an amusing thing to ponder on an otherwise lazy Saturday.
It's ON then. I just found this:
I'll see you all at the great mall then, Independence Day, July 4, 2009.
I"ll bring my little boys with me from Kalifornia. Anybody got an extra room for a couple of nights? Hmmmm?

Her lack of clue is more disturbing.
Yeah but the lack of clue I don't think we can do much about, the pie isn't a completely lost cause I don't think.
I think you're on to something there. Let's have the M$M vote on it.

I'd like to see annual rallies on May 1st every year, where everyone dresses in red and pays homage to Comrade Obama.
If you bring strawberry rhubarb i will attend. If not, screw you guys, I'm going home!!!
think of it as a lot of small million man marches. Only about 200K attended that and it is hailed as the greatest thing since 1964.
Cerally, if you keep disparaging Our Dear Leader (all hail), i will have to turn you in to the thought police. You have been warned.
yeah and then the number of replies counter would say 5 and only show 2 etc.
This new layout is realy grating my cheese.
But working in the private sector is hard!!!
I think it is funny that we limit ourselves to holidays and evenings.
I have a job and limited vacation time too, it is just that we are so practical about our protesting.

Are you referring to the Tea Parties, or the Obama Presidential campaign?

I've been using that thumbs up/down thing, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Scores seem to stay the same.
I suggest combining the next Tea Parties with a giant BBQ. you wanna get the conservative base energized? Bring out the dead animals and pot-bellied cookers!
"paper of record" indeed!

No, we really don't need to be so obsessed about what the leftist MSM are saying about us. We have the power to talk to each other, and get organized, to thwart their agenda through the rights which were carefully protected in our Constitution against this sort of contingency. This isn't about revolution. It's about standing up for what we firmly believe, no matter how much we may be criticized by others for it.
Let's do that again by joining the Memorial Day celebrations in support of our veterans this year – not as a day of protest, but as a day to stand up proudly for those who have defended our Constitution ever since independence. Sing the service songs. Wave flags. Thank veterans, firemen, and policemen. Get to know the people around you who still honor the incredible legacy of America in the world, rather than apologize for it. Use that to get organized for an even bigger Tea Party celebration on July 4. Keep up the pressure! Congress is already planning to push through more of their agenda before Memorial Day. Don't be silent about it.

Why not do the liberal thing and bring a class action libel suit against Pelosi and the others for their slanderous "defamation of character" "they are all racist" remarks?
We help destroy them by helping the Tea Party movement succeed despite their sneering and ridicule.
First they ignore us, then they mock us, then they fight us, then we win.
I plead not guilty by reason of actual innocence.
I can see the ad now:
Come to the Washington DC July 4th Tea Party — Protest Against Government Overreach
(pie and punch will be served)
Don't forget "whore," as in "Media Whores for Obama."
I will sweeten the pot and bring bacon snacks too! So, it's strawberry-rhubarb pie, punch and bacon snacks in front of the White House on July 4th?
So you're saying we also need to build a snack shack then?
Not guilty by reason of actual innocence. That's actually a pretty novel concept! +1 for you, even if it doesn't count.
This is going to be difficult to resist.
I wonder if we could make money selling shamwows and snuggies at this event?
Here's a phony +1 right back at ya! In fact, since they don't count, +1's for everyone bartender!
This is me, resisting the ease of making an obvious joke at that one.. LOL
Don't resist on my account. . .
Agreed! I will be ambivalent if the NYT dies – sad because of what the "Gray Lady" once was but knowing what she became – thinking "its better this way".
Ditto the Seattle PI (oh wait its already dead), Boston Globe, CNN…
If we made any money than CNN would call us hypocrites for being at a protest about wasteful spending while having people waste their own money on our delicious confections and/or souvenirs. You know even if they choose to buy said products.
After all the media attention of course, Fwank and Dodd would be introducing a bill to impose a special 90% tax on us for being Evil Capitalists and Obama would make an all network prime-time mandatory viewing speech decrying our failure to give out free slices of pie…
Hmm, now I'm really thinking about this.
I'm no so certain that they're aftermarket. I may have to do some research of my own…
One thing I would LOVE TO HAPPEN – as one of the last 10 Americans not on cable TV – is to be able to pick and choose what programs you want on an individual basis. How many people would pick CNN if they had the choice? It seems you are stuck with CNN no matter what package you get.
Maybe pressure the FCC to allow this – but last I recall the cable companies fought this tooth and nail.
As an aside I remember when Fox News was first coming on line, Ted Turner did everything he could to kill it – I forget exactly what he did – pressure the cable companies – but look at Fox news anyway. Do they (Fox) have an many households as CNN? But their ratings are typically 2x-3x better than "the most busted name in news".
But what could be more capitalist than making money at a pro-capitalism rally?
Yeah I’ve been stuck 69 for 2 weeks sounds kinky, gotta be the damn lawyers Hawk & Andrew.
Yeah, our trolls really suck! We were promised pie days ago, auntie WTF!
That reminds me, back on Sept. 17, 1983, my birthday, I got stuck on 6…..
Oh…ah…forget it, you all would never believe me anyhow.
Not Over.
Stan, don't read this part — skip to the next line. . . Lawhawk where are you buddy?! Emergency… they're on to us…
Stan, I think it's time that we took serious action to resolve this matter. I am very concerned about this situation. We should form a commission and charge them with the express purpose of deflecting all blame. . . er, determining what has occured and how to fix it.
You accept this explanation,
. . .go about your business,
. . . . . . these are not the droids you're looking for.
I think of the NYT as a favorite uncle who got bitten by a liberal zombie years ago. You may have liked him once, but today he's kind of a jerk.

I kinda like being stuck on 69, tee…hee! I knew it’s the damned lawyers, I mean Aliens. You and Hawk are trying to corner the comment grading system (scratch head), you fiends. Caution everyone the, “Wheelbarrow Beer Syndicate,” is making a power grab. Oh yeah that’s right I’m a member of WBS? Yes, yes a commission is a good idea…sheesh!
This is CLASSIC. The liberal shill CNN 'reporter' Susan Roesgen at a protest in 2006 is not bothered by someone wearing a Bush/devil/Hitler mask YET pulls a man out of a Tea Party protest and is indignant that the protester says Obama is a fascist saying, 'do you realize how offensive that is?'

[...] See full article from Big Hollywood: On March 2nd there was a demonstration in Washington D.C. [...]
Hmm, as a self-described "latrine lawyer" who had all of a year in law school I can say that successfully suing media (the press) is very difficult – you have to prove a malicious intent – ie, they knew it was wrong at the time and did it to hurt you (the plaintiff). Of the few successful suits I can think of was Carol Burnett vs the National Enquirer – the courts understandably want to protect the press and "free speech" to the maximum – simply being left leaning and viewing everything though the left side of politics doesn't come up to the malicious standard IMOHO
Bill (who blew a contracts final 33 years ago)
Remember this is CNN and Congress I'm talking about here, logic not allowed.
DC on the 4th is the way to go and burning Ogremann and Cooper in effigy to kick it off. Maybe a little Garafalo roast too?
Maybe someone could track down Auntie Fascist and find out once and for all whether or not she makes pie. If so, we could have a truly inclusive, post-partisan rally, just like Obama was supposed to be.
"…Andrew Breitbart know all the people to help make this a real tidal wave of action."
Hopefully, Breitbart will get the people running this site to give us a better method to communicate and organize with each other than simply replying to posts.
For example, I read this blog everyday. On April 15th, there was a Tea Party in my area that included Breitbart and several of the BH posters. I would have loved the chance to meet them and some of my fellow commenters. But, I had no inkling that such an event was taking place!
The mysteriously disappearing comments and replies is quite frustrating. Even more frustrating is the lack of response from the people running the site.
Without a doubt, the worst example of journalistic integrity was watching that CNN Obama-defender pretending to "report" the story at the Tea Party in Illinois.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6xWGvdRQ9Q
My wife is not the type to get worked up about politics. But, after watching that "reporter" argue with the man after asking him why he was there, my wife dropped the "C-word" on her.
That's when I knew the MSM had finally gone to far.
Well you know what they say Ken: Hell hath no fury like a conservative woman roused to righteous anger. Or something along those lines.
I didn't go to a tea party because they just weren't powerful enough.
I'd go to a real tea party–one where some State's stimulus check had been absconded with and then thrown into some harbor. Any harbor.
That's the best part. My wife is a life-long Democrat. Although, thanks to stuff like this, she moves farther right everyday.
A regular series of Revolt Gatherings leading up to 2010 by a Teaparty Coalition will generate interest, spread enthusiam and gather momentum as it snowballs towards the election. The attacks by the Enemedia and Liberal Socialist Fascists will increase, only strengthening our resolve and catching the awareness of more and more citizens as they begin to say, "hey, my next door neighbor isn't an extremist, what's going on here?" This is the New Media, and we're witnessing it's first major battle in support of America. Have faith in each other.
[...] Jeffrey Lena admires the MSM’s reportial double-standards. [...]
I, for one, encourage more events like these tea parties, because the events themselves, as well as the coverage on both sides, has been entertaining beyond words.
"I didn't go to a tea party because they just weren't powerful enough.
Brandon, with all due respect, this statement made my head explode. Besides it being the epitome of a tautology — I ask you: How does any movement gain power? By the participation of INDIVIDUALS, one by one! Whatta you gonna do? Wait until the movement is well-established and then join?
Be a leader, not a follower.
What happened to the Left's attempted subversion of the Tea Parties with ACORN, the Huffington Post, Code Pink, & the Daily Kos? They must have been overwhelmed & underestimated the Tea Party's effectiveness.
I'm trying to get my head around the idea that, 3 DAYS after an event, you're complaining that it didn't change anything. ???
Are you an American?
Something like a calendar of upcoming events/appearances?
I agree with you. I don't normally watch Redeye, but I would have liked to have seen some people — like Crowder. But I only found out about it after the fact.
Well then the shrill liberal media is good for one thing then I guess.
A convention!
Are you admitting you have seen Ishtar? Bold thing to do in front of witnesses, pal.
Back at the top of the Comments section, Sort by Last Activity. That brings up all the comments 95% of the time, for the 5% going Back to the main page, viewing something else briefly, then Back and to the article works nearly always.
I'm actually finding Last Activity useful to quickly scan new entries, however I prefer the usual sort for the first read-through, it's a pain when it's not working.
I think Auntie thinks it takes too much knowledge and time to make pies (i.e. work), thus (s)he'd have to buy them. Which takes money. 'Nuff said.

Nope, they will shut down our pie sales this way!! They'll use the Health Department! I had no idea that pie could be so lethal! Where's the "60 Minutes" expose?
Church Fundraiser Turns Into Pie Fight

Weekend Edition Sunday, April 19, 2009 · At St. Cecillia's Catholic Church in Rochester, Pa., members were stunned when a state food safety inspector told them that they couldn't sell homemade pies during events anymore — because they were breaking the law.
Guest host Linda Wertheimer speaks to Louise Humbert, a St. Cecilia's parishioner and pie baker, about the decision and the reaction from church members.
The filthy maggot pigs enable this swill.
I'd go to a convention, sure would. Heck the trolls can even come, it'd be fun to meet them…and make them bake for us.

The GuGi ticket? Too easy to slam. Getting noticed by getting hit by terrorist attacks, and cheating on your wife. Might as well bring back Bill Clinton, with a 2 for 1 ticket, Clinton and baggage.
Everyone says we need to find some real conservatives to run for the next several elections, but the field is pretty bare… So what's keeping you from trying? If you know how things are supposed to be done, why not start running at a local level? Please? The government wasn't supposed to be about these DC pseudo-celebrities, it was about having 'everyman' representatives. So why not get in there and show them how it's done?
Troll pies? Are those like horse biscuits?
This is sad, my grandparents would never have guessed things would ever get to this point. News should be news, and treated as such. Journalism used to stand for certain principals and standards. Sadly we face this because it's not longer true, people that have no concept about our lives and struggles are deciding what we need. If the editors and writers were more in touch with the heartland, and the working class they would not be so abandoned in droves as is the case. If the New York Times wrote to the workers, and the buyers and sellers, (the real engine of our country, not the government solves everything crowd) then they would have no problem making a profit, as in the past when they did.
What if Bill O'reilly used his audience? Would it really be any worse than Obama using his, or Pelosi using hers? Would it cost the country any more than it is currently? I doubt it.
Washington Politicians!
"I don't normally watch Redeye, but I would have liked to have seen some people — like Crowder. But I only found out about it after the fact."
Exactly.
T-parties were good…. because they demonstrate just how scared the political establishment really is. The major TV and print media have been losing money and viewers. The democrats–socialists– are upset anytime anyone anywhere refuses to acknowledge their supposed superiority. Bankrupt of ideas that work, morality and common sense, they attack the participants. If this small grassroots outpouring scared them to the point of releasing threatening propaganda via the DHS, imagine what a more organized effort will do– but beware! When the NAZI party was threatened on their way to power over the Weimar Republic, they boosted propaganda and SA troops savagely beat their opponents. This is the tactic of a totalitarian movement; the socialists will resort to more violent tactics as the threat to their base grows, because, like Hitler, Obama represents a Totalitarian Movement. Like King, we must use non-violence. Of course, if that fails, there is always the Chicago Way.
Probably closer to cow patties…
Brandon, just exactly what idealistic planet do you hail from?
BBQ? Roasting PORK no doubt?
BOYCOTT!!
Boycott CNN sponsors, MSNBC sponsors, and so on. You will never change the mind set of the fools who work at the MSM news outlets. But, if only 10% of the people at the Tea Party protests were to boycott, say Lexmark who is a CNN sponsor, then there would definitely be a change. CNN can't survive without ad revenue and there is no reason to support a company who supports someone making filthy remarks about you.

I am happy all the conservatives could have their voices heard for a change, yes that irony. The original tea parties were against a government that taxed without representation, not against a government with elected officials, not against a government that if your house is burning down will come and rescue you, not against a government that hunts down criminals that rob you, and not against a government that educates you for 13 years for free. The idea of this being a "grass roots" movement is laughable, Fox clearly organized this from the very beginning, then got mad at all the other media outlets for not covering their "grass roots" movement. For the record dissent is patriotic, revolution is not, so all the red white and blue "patriots" calling for revolution is entirely hypocritical. I don't know why I bother to post I am just going to be deleted anyways.
You leftist troll. Still with that "Fox News started it" junk. You know, it doesn't really matter who started it or promoted it. You are upset because the liberal protest methodolgy was not only used against you mindless fools, but was used quite effectively with far greater results.
Here's some points you trolls forget or don't want to think about:
1. It wasn't just 'conservatives' but also libertarians, middle ground people, democrats, independents, republicans, constitutionalists, etc.
2. Fox News may have helped promote the event, but they showed class by not using vulgar, hate-filled, infantile filth to describe it like Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow and others. Productive debate is a great hallmark of the American system.
3. Why are you so worried? Is it that you were thinking socialism was going to be widely adopted? I remember the indignation of the left at the Patriot Act claiming it was a violation of the constitution. But now you have no problem wiping your rear with the same constitution since it doesn't serve your purpose. HYPOCRITE!
4. And this one will fry your remaining 2 brain cells; a lot of people at the protest were protesting the republicans as well and were no fans of Bush.
REVOLUTION AGAINST TYRANNY IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF PATRIOTISM. Are you afraid of revolution? Afraid you will lose? I will gladly revolt in defense of the Red, White and Blue than to sit back and meekly accept the Red hammer and sickle.
Bring out the Comfy Chair ………..
