Regarding ‘The Speech’
by Jeffrey JenaBecause of a Pittsburgh gig, I only got to see twenty minutes of Rush Limbaugh’s CPAC speech on CNN while in a hotel room ironing my pants. If you’re eating lunch and getting that mental picture, I apologize. After the speech the CNN newsreader (I can’t recall her name) took a mild jab at Rush for mentioning Fox and C-SPAN but not CNN. She then went on to show “Twitter” comments which were 20 to 0 anti-Limbaugh. Which means one of two things — either by the most amazing coincidence all comments came from liberals or there was some bias in the newsroom. You be the judge.
I sat down Sunday night and watched the entire speech and two things occurred to me. The first was how well and how passionately Rush articulated the conservative view of America, the second was how few conservatives there are who can do the same without worrying they might “offend” someone.
As I did for the Obama address to Congress, I’ve deconstructed some of my favorite quotes. Mr. Limbaugh’s quotes are in bold, with my comments below. Enjoy!
“We don’t hate anybody. …I mean, the racism in this country, if you ask me, I know many people in this audience — let me deal with this head on. You know what the cliché is, a conservative: racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen of America; if you were paying attention, the racism in our culture was exclusively and fully on display in the Democrat primary last year.”
Back when I was a hippie in college, and I wasn’t the only one, I believed in limited government. I didn’t want Johnson or Nixon telling me how to live my life, whom I should have as friends, what to eat, smoke, and read… And I sure didn’t want them in my pocket any more than they had to be. Most of my friends who were women didn’t want the government telling them what to do with their bodies or lives, either. During the same period of time I seem to remember a lot of minority groups who were angry at big government too. The cliché back then was a conservative big government fat cat trying to run our lives. At least something has changed since the sixties.
“They’re still complaining, still griping about the same problems. Their problems don’t get fixed by government. And those lives have been poisoned. Those lives have been cut short by false promises, from government representatives who said don’t worry about it; we’ll take care of you. Just vote for us.”
The old joke is, “How do you keep a hillbilly busy all day?” “Put him in a silo and tell him to go stand in the corner!” Those waiting for the government to solve their problems have been walking around in a silo for over fifty years. Maybe someday they’ll get the joke. Reagan said it best, “Government is not the answer to your problems, government is the problem!”
“It just breaks my heart that he does not use these extraordinary talents and gifts to motivate and inspire the American people to be the best they can be. He’s doing just the opposite. And it’s a shame.”
See, Rush wants the president to succeed if he’s trying to do the right things! As I said awhile back, we support Obama just not his principles or policies!
“How did this happen? How did the United States of America become the world’s lone super power, the world’s economic engine, the most prosperous opportunity for an advanced lifestyle that humanity has ever known? How did this happen?
Was it big government making five year plans? The best five year plan was the last one which lasted one year because the Soviet Union went out of business.
“Barack Obama, the Democrat Party, have one responsibility, and that’s to respect the oath they gave to protect, defend and follow the US Constitution.”
All Washington Republicans please note this; I believe you have taken the same oath.
”…bipartisanship … What they mean is: We check our core principles at the door, come in, let them run the show and agree with them…To us, bipartisanship is them being forced to agree with us after we politically have cleaned their clocks. …Where is the compromise between good and evil? Should Jesus have cut a different deal?”
“Look Jesus, the Romans are in power and the Pharisees are all on board, couldn’t you just lighten up on this whole Kingdom of God thing? You’re not saying you want Rome to fail are you?”
“You can’t have people living in homes they don’t pay for. You can’t have people driving cars they don’t pay for. I mean, you can for a while. But after a while the people paying for it — screw this.”
Out here in Flyover Land a lot of folks are already saying that! If the government starts redoing loans and adjusting mortgage balances and giving away cars you are a sap if you ever hold up your end in a deal again!
(Speaking of the stimulus and TARP programs) “…where is the evidence that the people offering all of this have ever succeeded in any similar plans before? There’s none. There is no evidence it works.
Rush, there is the New Deal, the War on Poverty, the Great Society, the Great Leap Forward, Year Zero, the Great Cultural Revolution. All these were great success stories according to the people who started them.
“This wasn’t a landslide victory, 52 to, what, 46? Fifty-eight million people voted against Obama. There would have been more if we would have had a conservative nominee.”
Is he talking about McCain? Does John McCain ever learn a lesson? The “Maverick” got stabbed in the back by all of his old buddies in the press and on the other side of the aisle, except for Joe Lieberman, and yet there he was front and center at the Obama “symposium” shilling for the man again. John, the clue truck is driving around D. C. looking for you.
“Conservatives are naturally happy. We seek happiness. We pursue it. It’s part of who we are. So what can you do? Live your life.”
A friend of mine used to say, “The best revenge is living well.” I have long said liberals have no sense of humor. The difference can be seen in the old “glass of water” analogy; a conservative sees a glass that is half full and thinks, if I work hard and save my money maybe someday I can buy that half a glass of water. I will continue to work to fill it up so my family and I can have our own water supply. A liberal says, “How long do I have to wait for you rich, greedy, small minded conservatives to fill up my glass?”
“…and one woman (has) question for Biden. ‘What is in the stimulus package for small business?’ Biden was clearly stumped because there isn’t anything in the stimulus package for small business. So what Biden said was, ‘Well, if there’s a bridge to your small business, we’re going to make sure that bridge stays open so that you can get to your small business and your customers.’ Now, of course, the media today is a bunch of hacks, they’re out there as PR agents; they’re starting to get a little embarrassed. Maggie Rodriguez says, ‘Senator Biden, there’s a website that answers all these questions. What is the name of the website?’ and Biden says, ‘I don’t know.’ He looks off stage. ‘Does somebody have the website number?’”
Democrats, here is a quote from Randy Newman to explain Joe, “He may be a fool but he’s our fool…” I believe the “number” to that website is 1-800- Kool-Aid. Did I miss this being reported in Big Media? Do you think if Bush had done this it would be all over the front pages of the dying dinosaur papers of America?
“…so what is so strange about being honest to say that I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation? Why would I want that to succeed?”
“Nothing is as rare as an honest man in Washington.” If Diogenes lived there he’d have to hire help. I am of the opinion that the number one person in the line of folks who would enjoy seeing BHO fall on his face is Hillary Clinton.
“Don’t measure your success by how many people like you.”
My mother used to tell me, “If you always do what’s right you will not be popular.” I have learned that if you’re not pissing someone off, you’re not trying.

You also can't expect to export all your jobs, import all your products and bloviate about how "free trade" means it will all somehow magically work out. The treasonous slime hiding in Academia that gave cover to this willful destruction of this country should be hung!
You also can't expect to wage expensive wars for Israel we can't pay for. You can't hand billions of dollars to Israel (that end up costing us even more) that we can't pay for.
Rush hasn't said anything new in 10 years. I stopped listening to him when he became a mouthpiece for the country that murdered Americans on the USS Liberty.
Good stuff. Rush said outloud to the planet what has needed to be said for four years.
He's certainly right about people still griping about the same old problems that aren't getting fixed. Just look at my home town of St. Louis. A white firefighter's union and a black firefighter's union. A public school system that was put under the control of the state because of how bad it was. And the city has had nothing but democratic mayors since the late 1940's. People here always turn to Democrats to fix their lives and it hasn't worked. This city is dominated by the Democrats and yet the racial problems here are as bad as they are anywhere else.
There may be a Black firefighters union, but I will bet money there isn't one for Whites!
Rexter, you godless Nazi keep apologizing for Islam and its worldwide aggression. Israel and the US will survive, unlike your Nazi movement
The imposters in Israel (Rev 3:9) must be removed. I just don't want the hoodwinked supporters in the US to drag this country down with them.
Rexter says, "Traitorous slime, mumble mumble, mouthpiece, blah blah, murdered Americans, mumble mumble, Israel sucks, mumble blah mumble, Ron Paul is God, mumble mumble, fake conservatives, blah blah blah blah."
Well this pretty much explains you more than anything else you've written thus far. How did you manage to get the buckles on the back of your pretty white jacket undone anyway? Good trick that.
"You can't hand billions of dollars to Israel (that end up costing us even more) that we can't pay for. "
But money to Egypt, Palestine (whatever that is), Lebanon, etc. That's okay with you?
If so, why?
I love it when you guys bring up Egypt. We give FAR more aid to the tiny, rich country of Israel (that provides us nothing) than ANY other country. But, Egypt (enormous by comparison and much poorer) comes in second. But here is the part where you shoot yourself in the foot………………….
The REASON we give aid to Egypt is BECAUSE we give aid to Israel! Camp David Accords. So, this is also money that Israel costs us.
I promise you, there is no "White Union."
I love Rush and I loved "The Speech", but I'm amazed at so many (in the media and elsewhere) who are amazed at the speech. He's been saying this kind of stuff every day for twenty years. The speech was great but it really was no surprise to me. It's also amazing at the people who hate Rush (my ex-girlfriend included) and have never heard his show. Oh, well. Someday…
And that makes you the creature from Hekyll Island?
Rev 3:9. . . it's a cook book!!!!
I agree completely. The thing I love about Rush is that he simply speaks in common sense ways. I'm not sure why that's so darn hard for other politicians. Maybe they're just not as sure of what they believe, maybe they're too busy trying to swing for the bleachers with each sentence, maybe they're just not as smart. I don't know. But in any event, Rush has a great ability to communicate ideas that everyone who is listening knows to be true.
Wow, that's how I read it. I thought it was just me
Yeah, basically it was a round up of everything he's been saying for the last whatever years.
It was good to hear it all at once though.
Emmanuel, Carville, Stephanapoulos ( sp? ), and the rest of the MSM are really working hard to discredit Rush this week.
It shows he's scaring the crap out of them.
Love it.
same as here in new orleans…we have 'willy nagin', "welcome to the chocolate city". we finally got rid of 'dollar bill jefferson'. and everytime you turn around the prominent black preachers are claiming racism
That's the worst thing I deal with when the subject is Rush…people who hate him yet have never listened to his radio show and take for gospel 3rd party opinions of him without finding out for themselves. Rush is right…take six weeks to listen to his show and you'll find yourself agreeing with him more often than not.
Rexter, every so often, I listen to Ron Paul and find myself agreeing with him. Unfortunately, a guy like you will always come along to remind me why I don't want to be known as one of his supporters.
the libs think they are smarter than anyone else, so when they are confronted with a powerhouse like rush their only hope is to change the (his) message. rush said he hopes obama's policies fail. get it right libs.
It's Local 73. Unofficially called "the White Firefighter's Union." See http://www.pubdef.com. It's chock full of articles about the racial discrimination betwixt both the unions. Also see: "And, as in past disputes over the department's hiring practices, that case pits the predominantly white St. Louis Firefighters Local 73 against the all-black Firefighters Institute for Racial Equality." This from http://cms.firehouse.com/web/online/News/St-Louis... I bolded it for emphasis, so those like Rexter with selective blindness have no excuse for missing it. Do some research before you race-bait.
Um, do YOU live in St. Louis? Because we, the people who have put up with this crap for years, might, just might, know more about it than you.
Ron Paul is good to a point. After that I call him the Scientologist of the Republican Party.
How does Godwin's Law work in relation to Rexter?
Thanks, Nathan. We are all wrong sometime in life, I'm sure. What is nice about knowing as much as I do, I knew there was NO WHITE FIREMAN'S UNION without knowing a thing about it….except knowing that that would never be allowed to happen.
So, to sum up, there IS an ALL BLACK union, there is NOT an ALL WHITE union.
You don't even know you argued against your own point, do you? Drink a lot of fluoridated water, do you?
Look at Nathan's post. He proved I was right and he still doesn't get it!

Very true! Why is it so hard for our politicians to speak to us the way Rush did/does?????
I thought the same thing when I heard the speech. He's always been able to articulate the conservative viewpoint very well. If McCain could have just taken a page out of Limbaugh's book we'd probably be living in a much healthier nation right now. DOW down another 300 pts today. Yikes!
Limbaugh's right about how the Dems' "racism" cries against Republicans are hypocritical when one examines the facts.
Whenever this independent voter is standing around and a Democrat starts pointing fingers at Republicans saying they are inherently "racist" because they are allegedly more against affirmative action than Democrats, I simply ask the person, "How many black Democratic U.S. senators are there?" The fact is, if not for Burris (thanks to Obama's early departure from the senate), they would be tied with the Republicans at exactly NONE. And while they can take some solice in the fact the president is black, Republicans can also take solice in the fact that the head of the RNC is black.
Considering blacks make up about 20 percent of the population, but about 85 percent of blacks vote Democratic, the Democratic Party should just shut the heck up and stop pointing fingers at Republicans until they get their own affirmative action house in order. If I were black, I'd sure be screaming at the Democratic Party leadership, "Where's MY representation?"
LOL!
Alas, I love Ron Paul on a lot of domestic fiscal policies but it's comments like these that remind me why he should never be President. His foreign policies would only work on planet Zurkon…
YOu have to think and listen to get with the flow of what Rush says in his show. You can't just jump in and out. The worst part is that I just got done turning off my local talkers. I call 'em Batman and Robin like one of their compeating talkers. They were hosting a full on Rush bash first thing today. And they call themselves Conservatives. It was really making me angry.
Definitely +1 for the SG reference…
So you title Ron Paul as the only "real" conservative and then bloviate on the horrors of free trade? I'm sorry, but Dr Paul is clearly against trade protectionism (as every thinking libertarian and conservative is).
You know, you remind me of another poster, quoted the same "jekyll" book and everything. Don't know why this didn't occur to me before. What was his name again?
Yeah, our foreign policy of blindly following Israel's desires is working out great financially…..
"That's what I do." Col. Jack O'Niell ("two L's"). Love that show!
"My mother used to tell me, “If you always do what’s right you will not be popular.” I have learned that if you’re not pissing someone off, you’re not trying."
Ain't that the truth. Seymour Milquetoast never made any converts.
It has gotten terribly popular lately. I know a bookstore that can't keep it on the shelves. The revolution is marching on.
I nominate Count Chocula to be the Head of the GOP.
"people who hate him yet have never listened to his radio show"
And then they cannot even pronounce his name, which he must pronounce, what, fifteen times per hour? They are proud of their ignorance. Lim – BOW. As in Bow Wow, which is probably what his name is in Pelosi's native language.
But it's not just the liberals — the esteemed Chairman of the DNC has trashed Rush on TV too, to ingratiate himself with the MSM who so honored him by deigning to interview him about "The Speech".
Yeah, look at me!
Its called "wiggle room".
Sling enough BS and you can reinterpret it later however you see fit.
Crap … Rexter done went and said something I agree with.
I do so love all this Rush solicitude. The air is thick with the left's collective panties in a twist.
"Pelosi's native language"? You mean "Idiot."
Even a broken record is right twice a day… wait, that's not right.
Turns out even Rush agrees….
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_03020...
Rexter, can we agree that Ron Paul, whetever you want to call him is no Republican. He is a Libertarian, So if he is so honest and so right why didn't he run as a Libertarian? The answer is simple, Mr. Paul knows in his heart that Libertarian policy gets no coverage and no votes. Ask Bob Barr. So he runs as a Republican just for the press and exposure. So all the crazy ideas and wacky anti semitism aside how can I vote for a guy who won't stand up and say who he really is? It is one of the things I detest most about the current resident at 1600. 'nuff said !
Rexter could you do us all a favor and taking Rush's handy dandy kook test for us? Just curious how you'd do.
1. Do you believe powerful Americans are behind a world conspiracy to destroy the sovereignty of the United States of America?
2. Do you believe that the New World Order is a secret phrase used by conspirators to identify themselves to one another in a crowd?
3. Do you believe that the Federal Reserve exists as an institution for the conspirators to destroy the United States?
4. Do you believe that the eye in the pyramid in the dollar bill is a secret code of the New World Order?
5. Do you believe that David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, and other famous "one worlders" provide daily instructions to agents of the FBI, BATF, and the CIA?
6. Do you believe the CFR and the Tri-Lateral Commission serve as the front group to train and indoctrinate future one worlders?
7. Do you believe the Tri-Lateral Commission was created because too many bright people were onto the CFR?
8. Do you believe that CFR black helicopters, flown by U.N. pilots have been in the sky when American citizens have been shot on U.S. soil?
9. Do you believe that the feminist movement was the brainchild of David Rockefeller for the express purpose of having men and women at war with each other on a daily basis, so as to distract then from the real work of the CFR?
10. Do you consider Newt Gingrich to be a personal threat to your freedom?
If you answer even ONE of the above questions as "YES" then you are a KOOK!
Sounds like Martyr Syndrome to me.
that is so f-ing funny. There are way too many of these kooks around. But they are fun to laugh at.
1) Why would Americans destroy America? This only exposes how infantile you people are. There are people working to destroy this country from within but they are more closely tied to Israel than anyone else, but Rush is too SCARE to even MENTION them in anything other than glowing terms.
2) I think you need to work on your phrasing. It is like saying "do you think the UN is a secret phrase.." No, it is an organization. Used by the Bushes quite a bit, btw…..
3) Can Rush explain why the Federal Reserve is not Federal and there are no reserves? Can he explain why it is not a transparent organization and no audits are allowed? Can he explain why a PRIVATE organization has a monopoly to print money when that right was reserved by the Constitution to Congress
4) No, what could be more a more American symbol than an Eye in a Pyramid?
5) You think they have no influence?
Black helicopters exist. There is no denying this. You SHOULD be asking why they do exist in supposedly free society with accountable government. Who do YOU think has them? We KNOW the Marines have them. If they don't want people worried about secrecy, don't try to operate in secret.
6) Does Rush not understand things like "The Ware Group"? Rush sounds like he got even stupider after I stopped listening to him.
7) …
9)Not Rockefeller, but that was likely the intent of some who pushed it. This sounds like something Rush would agree on.
10) Dating this test a bit, are you?
Really? A kook? Even number four?
Dang…
So, are we agreed that Rexter is a Ronulan or a Paulistinian (both were terms I heard used to decribe Ron Paul supporters)?
Ron Paul, while he has some interesting ideas, also has some fatally flawed ones as well. The idea that America can just go back to be a strict isolationist country for example would never work now.
As another resident of St Louis, I would remind all of you arguing(some figured this out) that the "white" firefighter's union is only unofficially so. The black firefighter's union makes no such pretense and is allowed to be such, openly.
Someone had tacked a sign up in a College Park neighborhood here in Florida. Like the John Galt signs it read 'Who IS Ron Paul?' I had an almost irresistible urge to put one up in reply. "He's the Dennis Kucinich of the Republican party!"
He is a sitting Republican member of Congress.
Ironically, Bob Barr – a mainstream Republican, was chosen over the objections of most Libertarians – primarily so the groundswell of opposition to the moribund Republican party lead by a corpse (McCain) would be blunted.
What anti-Semitism? Is putting America first anti-Semitic?
Rex-
You're reading something into Nathan's post that he didn't say. When he referenced a "white firefighters' union", he wasn't saying that the union was restricted to "whites' only" membership. This is, as I take it, a matter of voluntary segregation, not institutionalized segregation. That is, the black firemen have (apparently) opted out of Local 73 in favor of more racially agressive politics, which leaves Local 73 as the de facto "white" union.
Stop crowing about a debate point which you haven't won.
Chuck Schumer speaks in Pig Latin.
And Ron Paul is one good reason to say "Bring your conservative part of your self to the Conservative Party, the GOP. Leave the rest of your self at home."
We can say this to tough fiscons (if we can find any, unlike Ah-nold), and Ron Paulers, and WSJers, and all the fringers. Across the board, values, liberty, security Conservatism. The Center, the Base, needs to tell the outliers in their dozen groups that we'll be glad to accept whatever conservatism they bring to the party. However, dumping Israel to the genocidal monsters is not conservative for a number of reasons.
Bob Barr is from my home district, I know all about him. He was oustered by the Libertarians over his rigid stance on marijuana, even for medical use. The Democrats wanted him out for his participation in the Clinton impeachment. The Republicans didn't want to lose his seat, but they were almost glad to be rid of him. He had gotten wimpy at the end of the Clinton impeachment, and gave in when he started getting pushed.Waaaaa! Republicans also didn't/don't like him because he is known to have a sour personality and doesn't try to get along or make friends.
Rexter,
I agree that Israel and Egypt are numbers 1 & 2 on the Free Hand Out train, with the exception of 2004 when Iraq jumped way out in front. However, with Israel being surrounded by other nations hostile to their very existance, and their getting little if any assistance from the rest of the world, I can see just reason to help them. No matter what size or wealth. After all, how many dollars are transferred to the rest of the Arab states on a daily basis?
Personally, if it were not for the theiving rulers in the Sudan, I believe that Sudan/ Darfur should be at the top of the list.
I had a saying about Ronulans. They were and are proof that if the Far Right backed up any further, it would bump into the Far Left.
Dude, you get credit from me for your answer to number 4. A sharp wit is always worth encouraging.
The message needs to be the Constitution. Read it; learn it; love it. The current administration is ripping it away at an alarming rate. We need to make our movement about restoring it, as written if at all possible. And I understand that includes no income tax, but if things are bad, our government may collapse.
I want to play too!
No.
1) No. George Soros is not an American.
2) No. It's not a secret.
3) No, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
4) No, what could be a more American symbol than an eye in a pyramid? (heheh)
5) No, not anymore.
6) No, but they do support creating a central authority for the world.
7) No, it was created because too many bright people wanted in on the action.
9) No, dividing people against each other is a tactic that has been around for a long time.
10) No, I like Newt for the most part.
Durn, I failed.
Out of concern, I feel I have to tell you that the greatest threats to your freedom do not come from Israel or Israel supporters. This one point seems to be the greatest point of contention between Paul supporters and conservatives. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss that. It's such a shame to have lovers of liberty so divided over such a small point.
I was listening to "the greatest speeches in history" today on my I-Pod. It's amazing how short they are. Rush hit high points that were every bit as well done as the speeches in the collection, and his ability to speak extemporaneously as he did for that amount of time is simply astounding. Very well done.
I could have changed Newt, but its Rush Limbaugh's kook test not mine! Wouldn't feel right. I appreciate you actually answering the questions. I think Rush would be proud to admit you to the Keepers of Odd Knowledge society.
Wow, and anti-semitic too! How are the Swastikas on your uniform working out – any complaints about that lately? Are you stuck in 1939, or what?
Oh my God, I missed your point about fluorinated water!! You are even dumber than I could possibly have imagined!!! LOL!!!
Israel is part of the U.S. in huge ways – there are hundreds of thousands of Americans living there. Hmmm…so just how many times have you read "Mein Kampf," exactly?
Ya, soon you'll need TWO taxis to make it to the rally.
Imposters? Like hundreds of thousands of Americans living there? Those people are imposters?? Wow, you really hate Jews, don't you? Do you keep a crematorium in your basement, by any chance?
Wow, another anti-semitic Nazi sympathizer who agrees with Rexter – who would've thought!
Man..The revolution is coming. I am stocking up on my 223 ammo and my MRE's.
The new currency will be Ammo, food and cigs. Better invest while you got the chance….LOL
Mrs. Larouche!….Mrs. Larouche!…..It's Johnny Birch, can Lyndon come out and play?
Rexter, you're either a Ron Paul die-hard, or you're some other kind of mole, but you're not conservative, and you're not for America. Dogs say woof, cats say meow, ducks say Ron Paul. Go quack somewhere else.
Why do you think he follows Ron Paul?
Hahahahahahaha he's almost as bad as the libs who post here
Wow, Rexter made a post without mention Jews. I'm aghast.
Spinner Thanks I said that two blogs ago in "Fools Gold" Check it out in the archives
You continually pour hate on Jews and Israel in this entire comments section, you don't think that's anti-Semitic??! You don't have a little black brush mustache by any chance, do you? I bet you goosetep down your front walk every day –
You're an Anti-Semite, plain and simple. You hate Israel because it's Jewish. That's all. You have no idea of the strategic importance of the only true democracy in the Middle East. Both militarily and politically. You give Americans a bad name, now go back under that rock from which you first crawled and shut out the daylight, you Nazi.
RP…sounds like the Scientologists who refer to L.Ron Hubbard as "LRH"…
"What anti-Semitism? Is putting America first anti-Semitic?"
It's anti-semitic when you pour hate on Jews and Israel, yes – how's that in a nutshell? That's what you've been doing on this comment board the whole time – just putting out your hateful opinions about Jews. What's the matter? Six million Jews killed in WWII not enough for you?
Hey, where's the question about The Skulls?
You Ronulans are as bad as Obamatons.
"(RonPaul/Obama) is the last chance for America. Only with (RonPaul/Obama)'s leadership can help us move forward. (RonPaul/Obama) is the one to bring (hope/freedom)!"
It's called character and principles – damn hard to find in DC these days.
Great speech with commentary! A perfect expression of conservative ideals unabashed, with no apology. Keep’em coming Rush, and thanks to BH for their exposure of conservatism.
Jeffrey! You forgot the best quote of all. That would be the one where Rush declaimed about the preamble to the Constitution and our cherished and inalienable rights. Which, of course, are in fact cherished in the Declaration of Independence. But heck. What’s a little ignorance between friends? Heh.
Thank you, Mr. Jena, for your clear commentary on an excellent speech by Mr. Limbaugh. I wonder whether Mitt Romney would have been a successful candidate against the current POTUS?
How the heck did this forum turn into the 'Rexter Show'? I believe Rexter is a plant, sent not by RPaul, but by Dem Underground to cause havoc and bring what they believe is the worst in Republicans/Conservatives. Now that's a conspiracy theory I can believe in.
Please do not forget to explain that KOOK stands for
Keepers Of Odd Knowledge
Rexter I have a homework assignment for you.
South Korea and Ghana had roughly the same GDP levels in their economy in 1950. Today South Korea has an economy that is an economic powerhouse in relation to Ghana. South Korea has increased while Ghana has sunk into recession. Please explain how this happened.
P.S. It has something to do with Free Trade and nothing to do with Israel. If you get this one right then next we will discuss the Smoot Hawley tariff act.
