Beck Derangement Syndrome
by James HudnallNow that Bush is out of office and Palin has become a Tweeter, the left has been searching for other straw men to hang in effigy. Lately, Fox News’ Glenn Beck is filling the bill. He has been ever since he switched to Fox in January and became a major player there.
On Wednesday he attracted three million viewers with guests like Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove.
In fact, the more the left hates Beck, the more popular he becomes.
A race-based pressure group called “ColorOfChange” has been running a boycott against Beck for the last few weeks because he said he thinks President Obama may be racist against white people. And, because he dared to express an opinion they don’t agree with, ColorOfChange has been trying to get every advertiser on the show to pull their ads. Apparently they don’t believe in free speech or opinions that run contrary to their agenda.
But Beck’s ratings are soaring ever since the boycott started. And it hasn’t really affected Fox’s revenues as the advertisers who pulled their ads just moved them to other shows. The problem with boycotts is they end up promoting the thing they try to destroy. Movies that probably would have failed before they were “banned in Boston” often make a profit. TV shows that get boycotted often go on to become hits — people want to see what the fuss is about. And if the show is entertaining, they attract steady viewers.
The irony here is that a “race based pressure group” is attacking someone who said he is against what he suspects is racism in Obama’s agenda. In other words, a race based group is attacking someone speaking out against racism. Who’s the racist here?
The left accuses anyone who critiques Obama of being a racist, regardless of their actual motives or the content of their argument. But if someone does that against Obama, well, they must be banned!
The public sees through this farce.
What’s even more hilarious is Beck is a rabid non-partisan who complains about Republicans as much as he bashes Democrats. The focus of his shows is to stop the rampant Statism we’re seeing and the partisan politics of radicals. He wants to see American return to a common sense kind of middle ground where most people can agree to disagree. Beck, like many Americans, is disturbed by the radicalization of the public discourse and the fact that the mainstream press has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for an increasingly totalitarian state.
For daring to say he wants politicians to listen to the voters, for the insolence of questioning the motives of those in power (a very liberal thing to do), for exposing the mendacity and chicanery of the ruling class, the minions of the powers that be, the mindless bloggers and YouTube trolls are going ballistic trying to make him out to be a crazed fool.
Beck helps them out by occasionally launching into self-flagellating monologues like this which they turn around and post on video sites to mock him with, but this kind of unpretentious mea culpa doesn’t hurt him with those who have any empathy. The haters only reveal their own lack of humanity when they go off the rails attacking him.
Glenn Beck has what I call a “Bugs Bunny” strategy, where he acts wacky on occasion which draws his critics into a tar baby/rope-a-dope trap that ends up exhausting them.
All those people rubbing their hands together expecting him to crash and burn any day now are going to be very disappointed.

It seems being against racism is racist.
I think I'm gonna have to start watching this guy's show.
I started watching him shortly after he started on CNN and have been watching him ever since. My parents now fans of his after I told them a few times to watch him.
Beck has TOTALLY OUTED the commies that relax in the Oval Office, smoke Kools and spit on our Constitution…gee America, you mean Obama really is the committed RADICAL everybody with a clue THOUGHT HE WAS? Wow, I'm shocked!
Let's get to work; we must legally, Constitutionally and procedurally NEUTER this Kenyan Commie NOW!
Obama know's this, the Second Amendment will be attacked next…an unarmed proletariate is a docile cooperative sheep…
Glenn Beck has been giving Washington hell for years, left and right. Now he’s messing with the liberal savior, …Barry. This must not be tolerated, Barry is the myrmidon king, the herder of parasites, the One. Keep giving them hell Glenn, and America, it’s working, you know it’s working because, “they doth protest to much.”
In rebuttal, Beck did an expose (expose-ay, I don't have accents on my keyboard) on the guy behind Color of Change. One of many shady people backing/associating with Obama.
Prime example of backfire. Much like the Whole Foods boycott. Stupid hippies.
Glenn has certainly become a major lightening rod, like Sarah and Rush, and akin to them, hIs face draws trolls like flies to fresh horsedung. We need these guys more than ever, as he takes what is becoming of this country seriously. He is not afraid to air the insanity. He'd better watch his back!
Yes, sometimes he gets a little "wacky", I like it.
Sometimes, I get a little "wacky" in addressing serious subjects.
If one can't laugh at themselves, or permit others to laugh at you on occasion,…then you take yourself far, far too seriously and nothing you say later will be considered meaningful in the end.
Stick with the truth, and never, never back down.
Who cares what these libtards call you if you’re nice or “respectful” to them.
They will always hate your guts anyway.
Laugh in their faces and go play with your kids people.
That free advice will cost each of you 1 buck. (2 bucks if you’re a lefty troll).
No checks…cash only. (And NO pesos.)
Not Over.
As a Cold Warrior, I still have my old "KILL A COMMIE FOR MOMMY" bumper sticker…
Does this make me a potential threat to the Administration?????
I F**KING HATE ILLINOIS COMMIES!
(With sort-of apologies to John Belushi)
I HATE ILLINOIS COMMIES!
(With sort-of apologies to John Belushi)
I HATE ILLINOIS COMMIES!
(With sort-of apologies to John Belushi, aka Joliet Jake Blues)
Why yes komrad.
You will now report to your nearest Obot for "schooling".
GO NOW!
Not Over.
Funny you should say that.
I watched all of his specials this week with my 12 year old son.
At the end of his first show on Monday, I turned to my boy and said, “Son, you're looking at one of the bravest men I have ever seen…but I think he’s just a “dead man walking” if he pi$$es off the wrong people in power.”
Beck has a CCW, (permit to conceal carry), and said a couple of weeks ago that he had his iron packed with him at the movies.
The libtard blogs went NUTS over that.
Heh…I think he has a fighting chance now.
Not Over.
Your paranoia is scary because it may be true.
I don´t like Beck´s style; it looks contrived to me. Frankly, I find him unwatchable and a bit of a rabblerouser. Even so, he has done a good job in demonstrating the thuggish tendency of the left. And he is usually not wrong. Hyperbolic, sure, but don´t forget: hyperbole is an ancient rhetorical flourish much employed by liberals, for example, a recently deceased beloved Senator from Massachusetts.

I'll send you my one dollar in good American currency. I just need your bank account information so I can direct deposit.
He has some awesome books as well…"An Inconvenient Book" is a great one to start out with because he goes over a TON of topics in a fun pop-culture format. Loved it!

Hell, I know I'm paranoid but, am I paranoid enough?
I'm not that worried about them killing Beck … I'm more concerned they're going to kill Barry and blame it on Beck (and the rest of us).
I enjoy Glenn Beck (a lot in fact) but he is like our "Paul Revere" and frankly I become paranoid if I hang around with him too long. "The Commies are coming, the Commies are coming!"
El Gordo, I agree that Beck's style is annoying at times. I don't watch him much though I am sure I agree with 99% of what he says.
One more blog that has Beck Derangement Syndrome is Little Green Footballs. I have a membership there, but stopped reading because they would use all the moonbat tricks like pick a single line and then read into it stuff that wasn't there, or they would just say "Beck said such and such" but they wouldn't show the actual quote, and you had a bunch of the LGF lizards chiming in that Beck is a nut for saying such a thing.
LGF also became boring with its incessant attacks against scientific creationism. It was fine the first couple times, but they beat that dead horse until it was dusty bones.
LGF jumped the shark for me, however, when they went all out to support the theory of man-made climate change.
I caught him on occasion while he was on CNN, but he was against another show I watched on Fox, so I'm glad he moved to Fox so I can watch more often. Although it does come on at 11pm pacific, so I usually watch a segment or two before heading for bed.
And for just a bit of clarification: for those who saw the show with him in "lederhosen", or a clip from the net or on O'Reilly, the outfit looked more like it was made of cloth rather than leather, hence lederhosen was the incorrect term for his outfit. Yeah … hence!
Speaking of boycotts, I myself boycott Citgo.
And another thing … conservative and the Republican electorate hold the Republicans account for their actions or inactions more than the left and Dems do for their elected officials. This, I believe, is because the left has no standards.
I agree with you. Glen Beck has on occassion made some great points, his money supply charte, calling some Commies Commies, etc. He is clearly a smart guy capable of talking logically. But he clearly is self-promoting with the whack-act.
I miss William F. Buckley.

hello
I never listened to Rush Limbaugh until the lefties started telling me what a monster he was. Then I had to wonder what else they were lying about. Who else's opinions were they afraid of me hearing? The answers were Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, etc. I've never watched Glenn Beck but if the left is so intent on silencing him, then he must be doing something right.
I smell a rick roll.
Correction. Stupid *filthy* hippies.
The "boycott" of Beck reminds me of being manipulated by my high school German teacher. He told us all about "the FORBIDDEN book" all the while writing "Voltaire Candide" on the board, then very lightly erasing it. Of course, we all wrote the title down, went to the library and checked it out. Loved the book. Seems like many people are intrigued over the fuss about Beck, check out his show, and then enjoy it.
I'm amazed at how many people on this side of the blogging fence bash Beck. It's not like we have a lot of friends out there, and his eccentric personality is not really a negative in the entertainment business.
Beck is sincere, he is a strict Constitutionalist, he smashes away at R and D alike, and he digs up more facts and data than the top 5 conservative blogs combined. Just his work uncovering the staggering size and power of the Tides-SEIU-Acorn axis is worthy of a Pulitzer, and sure as hell no one else is doing it. Watch his coverage of Apollo and tremble with fear.
While those of us on the right were taking engineering in university and then going out and getting real jobs, an entire generation of liberal true believers have gone straight into government and "community service" and the deck is stacked against us so badly I seriously wonder if it is even possible to win any more. Obama wants to increase his footsoldiers, Americorps, to the size of the military. Americorps pays people to work for them despite being called "volunteer," they are at least 90% liberal, they are just under 50% minorities (no agenda there!) and now Obama wants to pay their student loans if they stay in government for 10 years!
Gee, what sort of perverse incentive will that create in the universities?
Anyway, we'd better get as much as we can out of Beck because we got nothin' else on TV. Hell, NBC and ABC are openly banning ads critical of ObamaCare.
I was a CNN Glenn Beck watcher too and was so happy when he went to Fox. No reason to watch CNN since. He's particularly unleashed since going to Fox and obviously his audience loves it. He's bringin' the common sense with humor and unabashed love of the Constitution and our great USA. Love Glen Beck!!!
I can't stand Beck. He is the kind of guy who will say anything for attention, so how do you put credence in anything he does say? Whether it's his delusional YouTube rant after minor surgery, his conspiracy theories, or his contrived emotional outbursts, the guy comes off as a hack and the opposite of what Conservatism is supposed to be (i.e. calm, rational, and intellectual). I used to listen to his radio show, and he made the Heaven's Gate group (the Halebop Comet folks) sound grounded.
The Left doesn't want to shut him down. He's their perfect boogeyman to demonstrate how detached from reality the Right is. They couldn't love him more.
My attitude is: he´s a whack-act, but he is OUR whack-act. I wish him well, but I just can´t watch him. And if I´m hungry for some red meat I listen to Mark Levin.
We needed another Buckley for many years. To be honest I found his recent columns increasingly impenetrable. But one feels the loss.
Mind explaining (in detail without the name calling) why you can;t put any credence in his statements? Just wondering what he's said that is incorrect?

I'm a long time Beck fan. I was glad when he moved to FOX because he was way too tempered on CNN and when he would go off, he didn't go far enough. Since he's been on FOX, he has been awesome. If people that have never watched him are watching him this week, they will keep tuning in. He is on a mission to preserve our constitution. I do worry about his safety because of the very radical people that he is outing. Communists will do ANYTHING to further their cause, and this one has been a long time coming. I'll keep praying for him every night because we need someone who will tell us facts, even those we really wish we didn't have to know.
Excuse me? Stupid? Filthy? Hippies? That's all redundant. You simply say Hippies and people automatically realize you mean filthy, and stupid.
Well, on his radio show (which was canceled here in Chicago over a year ago) that we were "days" away from a terrorist attack with Al Quaeda members taking a number of school buses, then raping and murdering the children as happened in Beslan. He espoused dozens of such theories, and always credited unnamed FBI sources that he was "close to" which was slipping him information. When one didn't pan out, he'd just move on to the next.
And for the sake of curiosity, have you seen his YouTube clip where he talked about his imminent death?
Obviously you don't watch. If you did, all you would have to do is check the facts. They are all there for you to see. When he talks about someone, you can google that person up and see what he is saying is nothing more then what that person said himself/herself. Consercatism used to be calm, rational and intellectual; all that got us was commies in the WhiteHouse. The left tore the right apart with lies and smears knowing the right wouldn't do anything. So, we quit bringing a fork to a knife fight. We're bringing our guns now. I'm sure the left doesn't like to have these truths out in the open. Maybe you should check out his ratings. Tell me, how are your liberal freak shows doing? You know, the ones that LIE and it's easy to figure out.
Well, on his radio show (which was canceled here in Chicago over a year ago, so that will give you some idea that none of his claims actually came true) that we were "days" away from a terrorist attack with Al Quaeda members taking a number of school buses, then raping and murdering the children as happened in Beslan. He espoused dozens of such theories, and always credited unnamed FBI sources that he was "close to" which was slipping him information. When one didn't pan out, he'd just move on to the next.
And for the sake of curiosity, have you seen his YouTube clip where he talked about his imminent death?
That's the Template for you. What they would say is, "Denying that you're a racist is CODE that you're really a racist."
Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" should be required reading on college campi.
Normally I would agree. Buckley was in a class by himself. But I think Buckley is too cerebral for most people to understand. Beck hits people with the facts in a way they can understand.
I don´t like Beck either, but let´s be honest: The left will always find a bogeyman and if necessary make something up. Bush and Cheney behaved like true gentleman compared with the current crew, but still ….
I´m also not quite on board with the idea that "conservatism is supposed to be … calm, rational, and intellectual". Ideally, maybe, but conservatives also shouldn´t engage in wishful thinking. For most people, it´s a matter of temperament and experience, not an ideological construct. I love all the conservative intellectuals out there but they are not responsible for Obama´s current well-deserved woes.
So where might I find an actual record of the "we were "days" away from a terrorist attack with Al Quaeda members taking a number of school buses, then raping and murdering the children as happened in Beslan." claim you are making? Just asking!
The progressives are scared. What will they do, I wonder?
He talked about it every day for a month on his radio show last year. If you were a regular listener, you'd know that it was common knowledge. I'm sure you can Google it.
James, great analysis. Personally, I find Glenn Beck both informative and highly entertaining, especially with his PowerPoint and whiteboard lessons. He's like the crazy ranting uncle who says some on-point things that make you question your own sanity. Love him.
As to the Banned in Boston effect, I think everybody's profiting but Color of Change. Lots of red meat for both FOX and HuffPo adherents. In fact, two pieces I wrote on this same subject this past week were the best-performing ever at Digital Journal. One's a DJ TopFind this week. Even made me some change, LOL! God Bless America, capitalism and Glenn Beck
Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh……fearless purveyors of the truth.
I don´t like Beck either, but let´s be honest: The left will always find a bogeyman and if necessary make something up.
There's no question about that. However, Beck does give them a convenient target. He's the Jerry Springer of Conservative thought, and personally I don't think Conservatives need that (I'll be honest and say that while I lean Conservative, I'm not a hardcore Conservative). I'll take Krauthammer, Steyn and Goldberg instead. The Left has already proven that behaving like an idiot so you can win at any cost will only get you so far. You have to actually have a philosophy and a plan. That's my problem with Bush. He just seemed to operate day to day. Never defending Conservatives, never pushing a real agenda, never taking advantage of the opportunity to introduce meaningful changes to our energy, health, or other policies that he should have. Now Obama is using his opportunity to push the country to the Left. We'll have to live with the results until another Conservative has the chance to do what Bush should have done.
So, we quit bringing a fork to a knife fight.
I know these kinds of statements make people feel good, but they're just silly. If you think that Krauthammer, Steyn, Goldberg, or Sowell are the equivalent of a fork to a knife fight, then you really need to revisit what you believe in. Liberals won because Republicans held the White House for 8 years and Congress for most of that time, yet failed to make any major accomplishments other than the war (which was not very popular by the end). Republicans didn't lose because they were too nice or too intellectual, they lost because the failed miserably (care to discuss immigration, oil drilling or health care and what the Republicans did to address them?).
Send the "progressives" to Texas ; then, you won't have to think of them again!
Great essay, James. Yeah, Beck has his goofy moments, but I don't question his passion or sincerity. Here's what baffles me: Why hasn't his critics called him on any of the findings he presented on his show this week? If he's so full of it, why doesn't anyone refute his data? What I hear from Beck's detractors is either personal or peripheral, or both. Beck's spelling skills leaves a lot to be desired, but I think he just might be on to something.
I have my tivo set to record his show everyday and the repeat late at night, just so when the numbers come in since they track what shows are recorded now. Even if I don't watch that days show I feel I am letting "The Man" know that I am a viewer. That said, I can only hang with his radio show a couple weeks on then a week off, sometimes it's too much of a downer, but heck, Beck literally tells people to do that. He realizes that too much of it can start to be depressing. I also wish he wouldn't cry so much it makes me feel bad too dangit!!
Keep up the good work none the less Mr. Beck, we need you.
"If the Marxist Mad Hatters of the Left hate him. That means they also fear him. He's Ace's with me."
"if the left is so intent on silencing him, then he must be doing something right."
Exactly!!
I love his style, I love his sarcasm smartalleckiness and I love that he does not fear telling the truth. I love how he makes the attack animals look like fools. Where are the answers to his questions??
The more Color of Crap attacks him, the better he looks, the more successful he is and the more Jones is exposed.
Thank you Glenn Beck for shining the light on the Truth. It will be the Truth that sets us free… if we can just hang in there and be as bold and strong for our country as the example he (Glenn) has set for us.
Gee, I seem to recall the left saying Reagan was going to put people in FEMA camps and make sure he could run forever so he would be president for life,. An then they said the same and worse about W Bush. In fact, the crazy Bush theories blow away any thing you have claimed Beck said. Chem Trails anyone?
Beck does take it farther than I would sometimes. But all he is doing is questioning the motives, which is something ANY journalist should do about those in power. I respect the guy because he doesn't play favorites like some.
Frankly, Keith Olbermann and co have said a lot crazier stuff.
I had the same thought after watching Beck's series. There certainly seems to be a big set-up in play that if/when something happens to Obama, it'll be some right-wing nutjob that's responsible.
Frankly, Keith Olbermann and co have said a lot crazier stuff.
Oh sure, invoke the name of the anti-Christ.
I'll grant you that their crazies are way crazier than ours, Glen's just not my cup of tea. Kind of reminds me of a used car salesman (or televangelist). That doesn't necessarily make him wrong or dishonest, but it does make me listen with cautious skepticism. The thing is, he could be just as good an opinion guy without the shtick. To each their own I guess.
They're already in Austin.
Here is that awesome clip that Beck showed at the end of his show today: http://me.jeremybuff.com/blog/the-912-project/
He's definitely an alarmist– but then, when I watch him, I wonder, am I not alarmed enough?
That's a great inspirational clip!
Thanks for your objectivity.
If you're getting flak you're over the target!
"There certainly seems to be a big set-up in play that if/when something happens to Obama, it'll be some right-wing nutjob that's responsible."
Yeah, most nut-jobs are right-wing until proven otherwise. Unless it's undeniable that they're lefties, as with the SLA, Black Panthers, or ELF. Take, for instance, the carefully edited footage of a gun-toting loony at a recent townhall event over which an MSNBC anchor/reporter commented on white racism. Turned out to be a black guy, but no bother. Heck, they're still talking about the poisonous atmosphere of hatred surrounding president Kennedy's trip to the dark territory of racist Dallas, even though everyone knows he was killed by a communist.
3 million viewers… isn't that like HALF of any one of the major networks' news hours ratings on broadcast tv, and 2/3rds of CBS?
Beck's style is different. Imagine a non-partisan Limbaugh with ADD and you can understand it better. I've always found it entertaining ever since I first starting listening to him on the radio post-2004 election.
Beck gets bashed because he's not a Republican partisan and might be even more rabid about bashing RINOs than Rush. Also, Beck is less of an institution in pop culture, so he doesn't have that insulation. It's very easy to listen to what he says and think he's over the edge.
I'm betting that one psycho is going to do something horrible, and his defense at the trial will be "I was brainwashed by Glenn Beck." Gotta admit, nothing better to prove an insanity plea
No just an pathetic jingoist mouthbreather
> "The left accuses anyone who critiques Obama of being a racist, regardless of their actual motives or the content of their argument"
Yeah – since when is "Racist" the opposite of "Marxist"?
I'm a Beck Insider the first day he had his Insider Board. I've been listening since he went national (yes, I know, Florida fans – you can rag on me later).
I frikkin' heart Glenn Beck!
I found Beck's show in 2004 and have listened everyday I can. I am glad he is on Fox, and we need him to bring forth all info on these so called Progressives. There is another web site that some of you might like, they have a lot of news you don't see everywhere. http://www.gatewaypundit.blogspot.com
I have found that these far lefties, won't debate, won't discuss but just yell disparaging names at those with opposing views. They are the most rude, crude people I have ever seen, and now we have them in Washington!
After several years of fighting illegal immigration, I have been called racist so many time, it no longer bothers me, and tonight this was Beck's message.
TheaterGeek
I quit LGF a while ago as well. In fact Chuck kicked me off his site for criticizing him on another site. I go back every once in a while to see what they are talking about and Beck is all over. Did not know they are supporting global climate change.
I like Beck He talks about things that no one else does and it's important stuff. I couldn't care less if he's wacky at times. Consider him an informative showman.
Glenn is too emotional, too over the top for me, but his heart is in the right place, and he's done a wonderful job exposing the Communists advising BO.
So I hope his ratings continue to climb – I may start trying to watch him myself.
He's like Jerry Springer? You are clearly not a serious person. I think the people here need to learn not to feed the trolls.
Try this: "I was brainwashed by the liberal media."
Glenn is doing the job journalists used to do before they became Obamabots. His investigations of ACORN, SEIU and the Obama Czars should be getting more play in the media. Even some conservatives don't want to give him his due . Today several talk show hosts played the diversity Czar video that Glen had last night, but not one gave him any credit . Hannity completely ignores him and Levin constantly snipes at him. What's their problem?
He's not in Washington, you can bet on that.
Beck is offensive and should be boycotted? This, coming from the party of Keith Obermann?? Are you kidding me??!! Conservatives have a couple of loud voices against the TORNADO of left wing media, and they are afraid of BECK??!!
What a bunch of wusses.
So I'm a troll because you don't agree with me? You might want to double-check your dictionary.
Exactly how many times has Glenn broken down in tears on his show? How many times has he displayed ridiculous (some would say, manufactured) levels of anger of pedestrian situations (how about the video of him screaming at the woman calling his radio show)? Did using Ken & Barbie dolls to demonstrate the Obama administration establish him as a serious thinker, or was it just a silly, clown-like stunt? He does emotionally childish acts that no one else on TV does (unless you want to include Springer, Oprah, Maury Povich and Geraldo). If that entertains you, fine. As for me, I like serious people talking about politics, not ones who are trying to pedal an entertainment show filled with stunts.
I adore Glenn Beck. I listen to him on the radio and my sister records his TV program for me. If he were not occasionally wacky, blood would shoot from his eyes!
I am a 9-12er. A lot of people in my town are and I live in SUPER libville. Love Love LOVE Beck. I think he is about the least full of it person out there. I am mystified by the folks calling him a racist.
"The truth will make you free…" (jhn8:30)
Those words were first spoken by Jesus of Nazareth when He was speaking of Himself as in, "I am the truth, I am the way, I am the life: no man comes to the Father [God] except by me." (jhn14:6) By that Standard there is One Truth accompanied by facts that do-or-do-not pertain to The Truth. One or the other with no in-between. Some facts are unrelated to truth. Some "facts" are more factual than others. Some "facts" stand and others vanish like smoke. Facts change. Truth never changes. Just sayin…for the benefit of full disclosure. Godspeed Glenn Beck!
You left out Sarah Palin, Thomas Sowell, Steven Crowder, Star Parker…….
Not to nit-pick, but I think you meant "briar patch" when you said "tar baby."
Wait! You said "tar baby!" Eek, a racist! <jumps up on chair, grabs petticoats>
No, seriously, unlike those who jump on terms like that (and I wonder why no one did–the trolls must be under their bridges), I take time to understand the context. Hence, my nit-pick; "tar baby" would have been appropriate if you used it in conjunction with something like "quicksand" or "quagmire."
Oh, and for the record, I don't wear petticoats.
Beck tells it like it is, in no uncertain terms. He is courageous.
Why wasn't Anderson Cooper boycotted for being vile about the Tea Party protesters?
Wait, your high school banned "Candide"? One of my favorite books. We read it in high school, though.
He's one of my favorites. I've been listening to him for years on the radio and he really is an equal opportunity basher! It's about what's right and wrong, not who is right or wrong. Give him a try. He's theatrical but sincere and he's the ONLY one asking the questions that need to be asked.
Because Tea Party members mostly never watched him to begin with.
I've had the same thought! Visions of Vince Flynn's first novel keeps going through my head – what a set up.
Hold tight, America, we're in for a rocky ride. I don't think Obama is in control at all. I really think there is something sinister this way coming. For the first time in my adult life, I'm really scared.
Ah, of course! It's late – that's my only excuse.
Excellent clip! Really moving.
Keep it up Mr. Beck! For the truth with facts will set us Free!
You know, Glenn Beck can be a little over the top and conspiratorial at times. When he gets like that, I tend to take what he says with a grain of salt. But I also store away that information for a later date – b/c while it may sound paranoid, it's good to be prepared just in case. I'd rather be prepared and be wrong, then not be prepared and be wrong. Kind of like Y2K – lots of hype, but it didn't hurt to have some emergency supplies just in case. I mean, in CA, you never know when the earthquake is coming, but you're prepared anyway.
In America, we're not sure if it will ever get that bad, or if this is just another hiccup and that we'll return to at least a more centrist if not downright conservative time. But there's no harm in being prepared for the worst. I want to be the Ant, not the Grasshopper.
No, I meant tar baby. A tar baby gets stuck on you and you can't get it off. The more you fight the worse it gets. They throw mud on him but only make themselves look ugly and stupid in their efforts to mock him. e.g

I'm beginning to feel sorry for Obama since I've been watching Beck this week … its pretty clear to me that the leftists that put Obama in the white house plan on killing him soon and blaming Republicans/Whites/Gun Owners for it in order to institute some sort of police state (kinda like the window smasher in Denver or the burning of the Reichstag).
So ironically Beck has actually tempered any hatred I had for Obama … now I just pitty the poor sap … being a pawn must surely suck (especially when you think you're a king).
I'm glad I'm not the only form LGF reader. Charles has gone off the deep end. You would think, from his posts, that Darwin is the Lord God himself. I, just like most reasonable adults (including Sarah Palin) understand that the earth is billions of years old. We understand that life has changed and evolved over the eons. The does not mean that we can not still beleive in God.
He has lost many followers who he will never regain.
Paul Revere "the British are coming" Glenn Beck "the Commies are HERE" Where is our George Washington?
Beck is a game changer. Progressives, be afraid! Be very afraid!
Here is a very moving clip that was shown at the end of today's show. http://tiny.cc/0jJbJ
I've been listening to Beck for years. I see him on O'Rielly when he guest. I agree with him 75% and generally enjoy the Juvenel humor. However, I beleive he is the extreme other side of the good cop/bad cop game played on us by the Trans National Elites pushing their New World Order. Just look up FEMA Camps Haliburton and 386 Milion and you can easily see that congress funded them in 2006. Fact, Beck didn't mention this little fact when he had his special on the FEMA Camp conspiracy. He's dead on about the Banksters and Goldman Sachs stealing the entire wealth of this country.
If the Marxist Mad Hatters of the Left hate him. That means they also fear him. He's Ace's with me.
The Dems just do not get it. The more they cry "Racism, nazi, Astro-turf, right-wing nuts", the more people rise up to be heard. Please keep it up liberals, the more you scream the more powerful we become.
Beck is laughing as you "boycott" him all the way to the bank.
Not to mention that OFA (Organizing For America) formerly known as OBama For America (his PAC) is putting ads up on Craig's List: – "Want to work for change. Meet new people. $400 – 600/wk. Some travel required."
The phone number routing through to OFA in Boston. Talk about "AstroTurf"!
Just saw tonight's episode, so I want to take back my "spelling skills leave a lot to be desired" remark. Very ballsy move on Beck's part. I'm sure his detractors dismissed him as an inept non-entity last night, but Beck's clever omission of the letter "c" just brought more attention to the issue at hand. I'm impressed!
I do watch on occasion, but I used to listen to his radio show a lot (it was pretty much all that was on while I was at work). He was entertaining, but the conspiracy theories that never came true got old, and many of his claims were based on what he claimed people (who he could never reveal, of course) told him. There was always (literally, every day of the week) some calamity that "might" be happening any day. It got really old.
I thank God for Glenn Beck. He has taught me so much. I watch him every day and am proud to say it.
God bless you, Glenn.
So far you've spent a lot of time discussing the merits or lack thereof of Beck. The point is the message is being viewed by upwards of 3 million people and the "Never ready for Prime-Time" players over at MS-NBC have to be tearing their hair out. The sense of delusion over there is being fed by a healthy dose of Beck and let's not forget Sara Palin. Mix in a little Cheney , Limbaugh and OReilly and you have a great rotation of Foils that keep the rabid Left chasing their tails.
Say what you will about Glenn's antics on T.V. his show on CNN forecast the catastrophe in our economy a full 12 months before anyone else started admitting there were problems. They called him an overdramatic alarmist then too. He is hands down the most informative political pundit on television, and probably the most humble and honest as well.
We have to remember the left hates anyone smart enough to see through their facade, and will do whatever it takes to besmirch them and their message.
I implore anyone who regularly reads these boards to watch his show, and compare the content and validity of his info to anybody else you see on TV. He should be the most watched personality on FOX News.
Most of his attackers are lazy, illiterate nitwits like the many blowhards you see on the social sites attacking anyone not worshiping at the altar of Che. I read one attack on the ironically named Crooks and Liars which was so full of mendacity it would make Charlie Rangle shudder. One dufus commentator said that Beck only attacks Czars who are black which proves he is a racist. Except he was also attacking Holdren and Casstien, who are white like most of Obama's czars. After all, most lefty elites are whiter than the Pillsbury Doughboy. The only blacks on Obama's crew seem have their qualifications based on the level of their extreme politics. These guys are wackadoodle nutrolls.
And that's the thing Beck needed to go into more, which is, why surround himself with such radical loons unless he is one himself. Misery loves company.
I hear what you're saying about his style…the first time I saw him I thought he was really annoying – the kind of person you want to punch in the face just because…but the more I watched the more I found how in tune he is with how broken our government is due to partisan politics and now I'm a huge fan. I now leave a copy of his "Common Sense" on my desk, just to let people know.
Yes, but the rabid left is not our target audience. I cannot say this often enough. The American people are. The vast, lightly conservative, hard working, largely Christian middle out there. Obama lied his ass off to get their votes. While I wouldn´t compare Beck to Springer, I´m not sure what these people make of Beck. He may repulse a smany as he attracts. I don´t know. I know this isn´t about two tribes and their exclusive treehouses. Screw the rabid left. They will never change. They don´t decide elections.

Obamabots can't answer Beck's respectful questions.
To Obamacrats, Beck is a dangerous man because he's doing the work real reporters used to do in this country. He pulls no punches and doesn't mince words. Thus, he must be silenced. Trouble is, the Leftwads don't know how to silence him without violating the US Constitution — so Beck has them between Barack and a hard place. In short, he's making them crazy with anger.
God bless Glenn Beck.
LGF-speaking of reading "into it stuff that wasn't there"
LGF are the Lizard creatures who to spleen their lizard guts every time a Caucasian raises their hand.
They also simultaneously explode over any symbol of a cross or particular pattern on a scarf.
LGF is further to the crazy than Democratic Underground.
After the Dan Rather Memogate Charles Johnson descended into a weird and warped creature from Hollywood's sewer lagoon.
Ahhhhh- I can smell the moldy scent of a cowardly libbie- I used to step on scum like you, but you ruin shoes with your stink. Now, I just sprinkle salt on you and you shrivel right up.
It's amazing how much fun you can have with invertebrates.
"Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean you are not being followed"- Henry Kissinger.
I too think that Hussein is being set up- his death by these people would provide the "emergency" that the left needs to complete this scenario.
I'd rather walk than buy gas from Citgo. It's been that way for a long time.
I used to turn his radio show off because he was not my cup of tea either. But my wife who is not really a political animal seems enthralled by him. She giggles whenever he's on and comes to his defense quickly. It's surprised me. I caught her reading his 'Common Sense' last week. She has always been a good judge of character (she married me!) so I don't dismiss it. There may be an element to him you are overlooking.
I used to watch Beck on CNN and felt like I had to sneak over to the channel to watch him. I was always wondering why CNN would even have anyone like him on their team. He must have been their token voice of opposition so they could claim being fair and balanced. I was very happy when he found a home on FOX and wonder what took them so long to ask him to join. Knowing Beck, I'm guessing he loved being on CNN to put all those panties in a bunch every day. How anyone can disregard the important information he has shared is beyond comprehension.
Ah. All is clear. It was your use of the term in conjunction with rope-a-dope that threw me.
Just out of curiosity, do you call Bill Maher the Larry of the gang because he's the least funny of the three?
Sometimes his radio show is a downer (the truth can be disturbing), but on the other hand, there have been many times I have laughed so hard I could barely breathe! When he and Stu get on a roll, like mocking Keith Olbermann or NPR, it is a scream. Many times I have laughed just listening to Glen laugh. Sometimes he gets so tickled, he can't talk.
That said, I miss Flap Jackson and he should be brought out of retirement.
Right on, sistah! ____Uh, is that a racist comment? If so, you can boycott me if you wish.
Beck and Fox News are doing what the other "News Org." were supposed to be doing all along. NBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, etc. are not doing their jobs, and haven't for some time.
More power to Beck and Fox. This country just might have a chance…..maybe.
Dang, man. How come that works so well for the Nigerians?
Hey, I like Beck. I have no respct for "Color of Change." But this crap about free speech violations is… well, crap! Both Beck and CofC are exercising their right to free speech. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from the consequences of that speeching. If that's what you want, talk to the wall!
Here's a recap of the past week, a pretty intense place to start: http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article...
No, Color of Change are trying to punish Beck for expressing an opinion. Beck was saying "he thinks" Obama may be a racist. That's his opinion. So they want to destroy his show and get it of the air, all because of that. And they are linked to the administration, so it's far more complicated and wrong than you make it out to be.
There is an organized effort by people allied with the administration to punish and marginalize those who don't praise old evil eyes.
My husband, who wasn't really into talk radio, told me one day to listen to the Glenn Beck show. This was before his TV program. I was hooked! Now he is the only show I record daily so I won't miss it. Last Tues. we sat down to watch our recording only to discover we had run out of space on our Tivo in the middle of the Pat Caldwell interview! Our terror quickly subsided when we discovered he was on again at 11:00pm our time. Whew, that was a close one. This week's shows about the radicals have been outstanding journalism. Interesting, he is supposed to be an opinion show and he is doing the best investigation in the media.
Still, my favorite is his pudding clip when he was watching Barbara Boxer get an earful from the head of the Black Chamber of Commerce. His expressions are priceless.
He must be on the money, just look at who his enemies are!
I agree…. when I first stumbled upon LGF a few years ago I liked it… but if you don't agree that Beck is a whack job and believe in man-caused climate change and accept the THEORY of evolution you are the whack job. I don't know why I was so stocked to finally 'register' there.
I watched last night's episode this morning. LOVED the opener \”Oligrahy\” \”Czars\” thing. I chocked on my coffee. The day before when he did that – I thought nutters were gonna eat him up. And – ahhhhh – so heart warming.
Love me some Beck.

Best radio episode of last year for me was the day before Memorial Day I think it was or perhaps before the 4th of July. He told stories, of the real story of Paul Revere, and the story of Marian Anderson and the way he told the story I had goosebumps just listening, I had actually stopped working and just stood there and listened, then he played her singing 'My country tis of thee' …..wow….just wow, it was so powerful and then to have him build the story up and flesh it out, just beautiful. The Paul Revere story was wonderful in that it was very much filled with suspense. In my humble opinion it was quite possibly the best show he ever did outside of his 9/11/2001 episode, which since it is coming up I would suggest everyone here go to his website on 9/11 and give it a tumble.
Beck's & FOX's ratings are through the roof, so I guess we'll just have to watch more put downs by HBO's resident scumbag Bill Maher, NBC's loser Conan O'Brien, and CBS's old douche-bag David Letterman. Wouldn't you love to see Beck vs. Maher or Letterman? That would be on PPV.
Why don't the liberals pile all over Beck and refute what he says, you ask?
They are giving him the silent treatment . To say anything would give credence to Beck. The libs don't want it out in the open.
Notice abc, nbc, cnn are not making any statements about what Beck has uncovered; neither the L.A. Times, N.Y. Times, or Wash. Post . They are afraid if they bring it up, it would open investigations Imagine libs. opening investigations on themselves; ain't gonna happen!
You wonder why you can't buy ammo for your guns? Guns are useless without ammo. It's all planned
Keep at it, Beck!! Like some others have said, "Watch Your Back"!.
Yep.
I love Glenn
Beck is proof that P.T. Barnums remarks about a fool being born every minute is now a gross underestimate. Beck certainly covered his minute and his fans are exponential in their fulfilling of prophecy. He is a political and social clown.
I disagree. The Left has double standards. Of course, they think that it means they have twice the standards…
I'm a hard-core conservative and Christian. I started listening to Glenn on the radio about a year ago in Washington state and got hooked. I started watching himon CNN (only reason I would go to that channel) and then moved to the Chicago area. Yes, he is not on the radio here and i miss that but I DVR his Fox show and watch it every night. Glenn Beck looks up facts, has great guests on his program and covers what the media will not (even Fox News). I can relate to his addiction recovery and his desire to bring things into the light. He also challenges people to prove his fact wrong and if they do, he corrects them. Who else on TV is doing as much as well?

I couldn't agree more. Well said.
Was it ever confirmed that Johnson kept the US in Vietnam because he could feel the crosshairs on the back of his head?
Did you see the cropped MSNBC vid of the black 2nd Amend protestor leading a story headlining "armed white protestors" in Arizona? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYKQJ4-N7LI&fe...
When in doubt, burn down the Reichstag. I need to come up with something not as cliched. Are there any Soviet or Maoist examples of that?
Again the author is being either deliberately obtuse or he's just plain ignorant of the law. Nobody's right to free speech is being infringed upon when a group pressures advertisers to pull advertising. Beck has no Constitutionally protected right to the airwaves and advertisers of FoxNews more than I do or anyone else. If people using their own free speech rights are able to convince FoxNews or its advertisers to remove or suspend Beck, then that is their right. Wal-mart or Geico isn't required by the Constitution to pay advertising on shows they don't think reflect the views of their customers. FoxNews isn't required to let Beck say whatever the heck he wants. They own the company and they control what their employees can say over their airwaves.
You are proof about what this whole article was about. Don't address the facts just start the name calling. Fan of Sal Alinsky are we?
Have you actually verified any of his stories before dismissing them? He's right on the money with Van Jones.
"I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."-interview East Bay Express- read the link before they trash it. They're embarassed for having "outed" one of their own.
http://www.eastbayexpress.com/gyrobase/the_new_fa...
Its not hyperbole if its true. AND if that's who Jones is, and he's proud of what he stands for, then why hide it from the American people? Let the whole administration stand up for what they believe, instead of hiding behind derision, insults, boycotts, and threats.
Is that the clip that the high school student put together on his computer? Wasn't that an excellent video?
Another tar baby take- quicksand is a natural phenomenom that may or may not entrappe the unwary, a quagmire is an unforeseen consequence of naive assumptions. A tar baby is a deliberate trap designed to ensnare by using the targets own unexamined and incorrect beliefs against them. I LOVE the tar baby analogy, too bad you have to be so darn careful about using it in a PC world.
I wasn't making a legal argument. It's pretty clear. By your logic I can convince your employer to fire you because I don't like your opinion. But see, I wouldn't do that because only creeps do that kind of stuff.
All I did was point out that Color of Change's actions shows they have no respect for people's right to air their opinions. The Constitution says "Congress will make no law abridging free speech" so I am not comparing them to congress,. But to go out of your way to try to destroy someone because they expressed the opinion that they are against what they perceive as racism shows they have no tolerance for personal opinions at variance with theri own. And it's ironic that a race based group is attacking someone who is complaining about racism.
After all,. Obama spent 20 years listening to racist sermons in his church, he has hired and associated himself with extremists. It's not a huge leap of logic for Beck to make that call.
It really shows how little respect the left has for free speech that they want to see anyone who doesn't tow the line punished.
FoxNews ratings is what networks dream about "sky high" because America now realizes if they didn't already that the mainstream media of NBC, CBS, and ABC and cable networks msnbc and cnn are in cahoots and in line in thinking with the socialist themed Obama administration. The liberal media simply refuses to report the news in a fair and balance manner and refuse to voice or express any criticism of Obama or his administration. As such there is only one place one can go to get the FULL story, the REAL story, the TRUTH, in a fair and balance manner, of what is going on inside the Obama administration, whether the liberals like it or not, and that is FOXNEWS AND SHOWS LIKE GLENN BECK. Seems pretty simple to me, boycott or not.
I for one will never watch Perez Cooper or anything associated with him, ever again. He should have been more than boycotted. He should have been fired…on the spot.
CNN sunk to the level of MSNBC with that ignorance from NeNe Cooper, and it's going to be hard for them to ever rise up to any standard, even the low one prior to Andy Vandy's outburst.
Beck is the worst kind of fear mongering clown there is. You can't possibly be serious when you way he wants to bring us to a "middle ground". He's the path to idiocracy.
The famous quote says: The 1st amend says you have the to free speech, but not the right to be listened to. If Beck is willing to say it, AND the people are willing to listen, then who has the right to try and take Beck's soapbox away? Isn't it such a coincidence that Beck opposes one of their founders, and suddenly this group is outraged? The question is how are these groups tied together? Are they part of a conspiracy? Who's financing them? And do they have ties to the government? These are legitimate questions even a lib should be asking. Afterall, they are doing this in your name.
Why, your well reasoned comment has sure changed my mind! Down with Beck! Up with Obama!
I had not been to LGF in a while. Wow. I just do not get these guys anymore. And they provide no way to unsubscribe. What has happened over there? Lordy.
"It's very easy to listen to what he says and think he's over the edge. "
Really? How so? He has some very good guests on (of all stripes). They tell him if they think he is going down a blind alley. I think he is one of the few people on TV who are actually for US, not partisan. I liked it VERY much when he outed Bush on spending, immigration waffling and that sleazy biz with the border agents.
And the 9-12 groups – He came up with 9 basic principles that he lives by:
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
All of his shows flow from that. Yep. A real nutter.
He is not the final word and he tells you so. You watch, you check what he says (as you do with everything) and you decide what to accept or reject.
I agree…. when I first stumbled upon LGF a few years ago I liked it… but if you don't agree that Beck is a whack job and believe in man-caused climate change and accept the THEORY of evolution you are the whack job. I don't know why I was so stocked to finally 'register' there.
It's like Stephen Colbert… are you really a conservative deep down or just poking fun (or both?)?
Apparently you don't watch his show, because that is all he asks for, A civil discourse instead of the rabble rousing insult throwing screeching we hear today.
You call him a fear monger, but he never says "this is happening". Rather, he says "I hope I'm wrong, but it sure looks like this is coming to pass". Big difference.
And you should be paying attention because what Obama is doing affects you, too.
I have been boycotting television for many years. Well, actually, it is just horrible. But I am starting to think I may get cable just so I can watch Glenn Beck.
Best regards,

If he was a true threat to the NWO, how long would he be on the air? Or, are they really all that powerful? By legend, a vampire is a fierce monster with superhuman power, but pulled into the sunlight, they instantly whither. Left to do their dirty work, they may well succeed, but if constantly harassed by the vigilant, perhaps they will by put off indefinetly.
At this point I am hedging that it is his role to prepare people for what IS happening so they're not TOO shocked when it all comes down. That being said I recommend everyone to listen or watch him. He is much more right than wrong so lets figure out what the NWO wants us to know!
Funny though, the links are often in line with more conservative thought. S'how I got here. Surprised CJ doesn't apply the same ruthlessness to the links. I was banned for what were imho mild critiques of some profane posters.
I love Beck because he pisses off all the people that I can't stand. More power to ya Glenn, give'em hell.
What really enrages the juvenile Lefty losers like 'J Michael' is they cannot refute the argument made from the other side and thus have only 1 pitiful overused option, attack the messenger.
Yes!
So Glenn Beck is "Bugs Bunny".
That who are the Elmer Fudds, the Daffy Ducks, the Yosemite Sams, the Foghorn Leghorns, and the Wiley E. Coyotes to Glenn Beck?
Buckley belongs to a time when people read something substantial and thought-provoking, but with an appreciation for the style and the language of rhetoric, all in printed words. Beck belongs to this time when people watch something entertaining, with a short attention span, a remote control in hand to change the channels at a moment's notice and books by Buckley collecting dusts in the bookcase.
How times change.
The prez is HALF white…maybe we should say HEY we are speaking to or about YOUR WHITE side brother. Because we SURE can't possibly disagree with a black man. THE one who transends RACE…hahaha.
I guess no one got the memo about him being half white because his black side shows always. I wonder if his grand mother asked him…why so black when you are HALF white?
Alas, the "stupid" hippies have a front man in the White House. And the Senate. And the House of Representatives. Remember how the Left always called George W. Bush "stupid" — yet his "stupidity" won two elections. Insanity and irrationality about some things can be mixed quite well with an immense cunning; the current political scene proves that.
I've been a Beck fan since long before Obama was elected. I said "think" because there are a lot of people, too many, who believe in the eternal security of living in the US, and they aren't paying serious attention to what's going on in the nation's power structure as a result. That's why I say it's easy for them to think he's over the top. They don't see what's going on, or if they do, they don't examine it with enough depth to really understand just how fragile this nation can actually be.
I cannot miss Beck. When I first started watching him, I was put off by his antics. But Beck is completely outside of the "box" of news shows. Why was it left to Beck to expose ACORN (with Horowitz's help, of course)? Why is it left to Beck to look at these creepy czars? What he's doing is deserving of all the highest awards of journalism, but he won't get any.
Does Levin snipe at Beck? That's a shame. I really like Levin though I don't listen to his show. Rush doesn't talk much about Beck, but he does not talk much about other radio competitors, either. But I believe Rush is an admirer and supporter in most things. After all, he appeared on Beck's show and said good things about the czar investigation. Rush likely envies Beck's ability to show numbers on TV–blackboards and power point–that cannot be done on radio.
Conservatives who've made their props by being Buckley-esque, or got their pulpits through family connections of the Partisan Review (Kristol, Brooks and Krauthammer), aren't likely to get over their initial appalled reaction to his emotionalism and capering. They have too much invested in their personal sense of dignity and status within the pundit world. Krauthammer doesn't like the yelling in the healthcare townhalls, either. I was appalled at Beck, too. Then, for some reason, I wasn't! I got over it quick because I was so amazed at the things he was showing me.
"Glenn Beck has what I call a “Bugs Bunny” strategy, where he acts wacky on occasion which draws his critics into a tar baby/rope-a-dope trap that ends up exhausting them."
The only exhaustion I'm feeling is the exhaustion from reading this drivel. Your talent for working three mixed metaphors into a single sentence is a perfect example. I'm tempted to take out a red pencil and mark up the computer screen.
“If we can hit that bull’s-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate!” – Zapp Brannigan
"The left accuses anyone who critiques Obama of being a racist, regardless of their actual motives or the content of their argument."
The left is the only one actually critiquing Obama's policies now that the far-right has elected to spread BS about birth certificates, death panels, and FEMA camps. That you don't see this is a testament to how much the far-right wouldn't recognize an actual leftist even if one hit them over the head with a copy of the Grundrisse. Just to clarify, liberals are not "the left". Liberals hate and despise leftists and there's no love lost on the left for liberals either. American liberalism is a center-right, capitalist ideology in near-harmonious agreement with American conservatism. The reason the arguments between conservatives and liberals are so fierce is that the stakes are so low. They have to pump up small areas of disagreement into a mutual loathing, otherwise it will become apparent how much they resemble one another.
Actual leftists have nothing but contempt for the Obama brand of corporate dominance and U.S. muscle abroad.
Because the teabaggers represented a bit of astroturfing without any widespread popular support, whereas a lot of people are fed up to the gills with Glenn Beck.
