WaPo Critic Turns Book Review Into Anti-Palin Tirade
by John P. HanlonCritics seem to use every opportunity they can to attack former Governor Sarah Palin and her family. Even though she is no longer in elected office, some seem unable to control their disdain for Ms. Palin, even when their criticisms of her are without credibility and lacking merit. One such example occurred in a recent Washington Post book review about a book that seemingly has very little to do with Ms. Palin.

In a Washington Post review of Debbie Dana Stabenow’s book “A Night Too Dark,” which reportedly focuses on Alaska and revolves around a character named Kate Shugak, WaPo book critic Patrick Anderson took a swipe at former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. In the first paragraph of his “review,” Anderson wrote the following about the book:
If you’ve never visited Alaska, it’s also an intriguing introduction to that big, brawling, rather bewildering state. Once you’ve met the strange characters who inhabit the Shugak novels, Sarah Palin becomes easier to comprehend.
If that’s not enough, Anderson saved his harshest criticism of Palin for later in the piece. At the end of the article, Anderson referenced an interview in which Stabenow is quoted as saying that she met Sarah Palin several times but that Palin never spoke to her about her books.
Anderson finds this outrageous, calling it “alarming” that Palin did not say anything about Stabenow’s books to her. As Anderson writes, “It’s always wise to greet a novelist with ‘Loved your book,’ whether or not you’ve read the book in question.” He then adds that “The writers are invariably grateful, and none has ever been known to demand proof. If Palin can’t figure that out, how can she ever hope to lead a great nation?”
That last line seemingly makes a connection between lying to an author about reading her books and the ability to become a strong president of the United States, a connection that few who helped draft the Constitution were likely aware of.
Anderson simply used his book review to attack the former GOP vice presidential candidate. Although I have not read Stabenow’s book, this review makes no direct connection between the book’s plot and how the article’s author feels about Palin, so his feelings about Palin are completely moot. The only connection between the book and Palin, according to this article, seems to be Palin’s connection to the state she formerly governed and the book’s setting. That is barely a connection at all and one that is unworthy of mention in a book review.
One could argue that Anderson’s criticism of Palin at the end of the piece is a joke, rather than a statement worthy of criticism. However, this review shows how much Palin hatred exists out there today. In the Washington Post, the reviewer goes out of his way to slam Sarah Palin, even though the book being reviewed is not focused on her.
The review simply serves as a reminder of how much the establishment media disdains the former Governor of Alaska and how far they’re willing to go out of their way to launch attacks against her.

Liberals need no excuse to vent their spleen. Nor any rational reason, rationality unfairly intrudes enough in their life and they resent it. 60's radicals sophomoric exhortation of "if it feels good; do it!' has become mantra. Remove any sense of shame or responsibility; and miracle of miracles, you have today's leftist moron!
Sarah Palin is simply the most convenient target. The moonbats seem to have concluded that George W Bush will not engage them any further on the national stage (see class/dignity strangely absent form Dim former Presidents). Berating McCain is like disinterring the equine to continue the flogging; rather pointless.
But in defense of Ms. Palin; the voters are watching and listening; use the intervening year to do your homework. Take the page of Reagan's playbook and use the time wisely. It will only help.
“It’s always wise to greet a novelist with ‘Loved your book,’ whether or not you’ve read the book in question.”
It's always wise to lie? Duh. It's the Washington Post.
I have visited Alaska and found the people very down-to-earth and easy to relate to, just like Palin. Maybe that's because I'm from the midwest – not elitist-country where Mr. Anderson seems to inhabit. I've also not read the book (by Dana, not Debbie – was wondering why a senator from Michigan is writing novels about Alaska), and would tell her that should I ever meet her. I'm not a suck-up and neither are Alaskans, which seems to be Anderson's main objection.
It's much of the media. How else could Dan Rather of Obama "but he couldn't sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic." Of all the fruit to claim Obama couldn't sell, he picks the fruit most associated with "the negro" of the deep south. Anyone hear any outrage from the so-called black leadership over this? Nah.
Democrats = racist
A few years ago I had a student in my community college English class who managed to inject a slam at then-President George W. Bush into every essay, no matter what topic I had assigned. I guess by now he's ready to write for the Washington Post!
Yeah, it turns out that to be president, you do, in fact, have to read at least one obscure novel set in your native state. The 9th Circuit Court determined that this requirement evolved in our living constitution.
Seriously, though, I'm thinking there may be something to this. After all, Obama did take that book from Chavez last year…
What an outrage! SP has been viciously attacked by the worst of the msm, Letterman, no joy behar, etc. etc. etc. only to be sniped at by this insequential nudknick. Book critic? What's next? The bass fishing columnist at the Toledo Blade? The bridge columist at the Sacremento Bee? I'm sure this will destroy her.
You can always tell a liberal: they mind their own business, play their own game, they're inclusive and diverse and kind and loving and tolerant and have great intellectual curiousity… okay, I'm being just a teensy weensy bit sarcastic, but you know what I mean.
Variety has dropped critics in cost-cutting measure! Ha, Ha!
Libs' heads spin whenever Palin is mentioned. Hilarious!
The kind of people who become journalists are almost universally losers. It really shouldn't be the least bit surprising that they'd have obsessive hatred for a woman who embodies everything that tormented them about high school. With the exception that being a journalist requires no talent and more curiosity than intelligence, they aren't terribly different from the kind of people who become screenwriters. Their nightmare is the pretty popular girl who wasn't much of a student and their fantasy is that these kinds wash out after high school while dweebs like themselves come into their own. It's the sort of thing that lives on in spite of being such a tiresome cliche in Hollywood movies because the people who create them are so damn alike. They can't help themselves. And Palin makes a joke of their high school revenge fantasies.
So in November when the people of this nation clean out the halls of congress, I hope Mr. Patrick Anderson does with them.
He is just as connected to Congress' corruption as Sarah Palin is to this book.
Do we ever even get to hear what the book is about?
Doesn't surprise me. I mean, I've seen threads about Spider-Man suddenly degenerate into Bush-bashing for no descernable reason whatsoever.
Maybe it's political Tourette's Syndrome:
"You know, I think the Clone Saga was the worst — BUSHSUCKS! — period of the Spider-titles — HALLIBURTON! BLACKWATER! WAL-MART! — since the late — PALIN UTERUS!"
Patrick Anderson – useless hack book reviewer and Useful Idiot of the Lying Lefist Media…
…and Sarah Palin smiles and grows STRONGER and STRONGER…
Brilliant. May I add, "the next Spidy villain might as well be BUSHitler."
So is the reviewer saying that Alaska is full of people who don't automatically ask "How high?" when Obama says "Jump!"? If so, that would bear out my impression that Alaska has one of the most libertarian–or at least "libertarianish"–populations in the US.
By that logic journalists and screenwriters should also hate actresses too…
I can almost here heads exploding if Rush said that….
So we know this man has probably not read ANY of the books he reviews. Who wants to read any of his reviews after that? Twit.
*thumbs up* Was just thinking though – the mantra 'if it feels good, do it' has become 'make me feel good NOW!' (as exampled in the article where Anderson is APPALLED that Palin doesnt know how to schmooze and lie her way into someone's good opinion.) What narcissists the Lefties are!
That's a pretty foolish interpretation of what I wrote. Unless you actually think that they'd be judging people in a vapid profession like acting in the same way they would a politician whom they disagree with.
Palin Uterus is pretty good too
Your statement is pretty foolish due to the fact it introduces an unnecessary step. Apparently they only make the step to associate a person like Palin with popular girls in high school but they don't take the step to associate actresses whom, like Palin were popular in high school, but agree with politically. Isn't it more logical that they dislike people they disagree with politically, due to this dichotomy . And lets be fair here, politics is a pretty vapid profession.
You know in a couple of weeks Pravda and Tass will have rewritten history and begin attributing to Rush the Obama watermelon comment, like they did with the Barry the Magic Negro comment first made by a L.A. Times columnist.
If Rush said what Rather said yesterday, there would be demonstrations/riots in the street today by noon at the latest, with the revrumms Jackson & Sharpton leading the charge, and getting face time on the alphabets.
It makes one wonder, more and more, what it is about Palin that drives liberals into fits of anger and insulting diatribe.
I'm beginning to believe it's the spirit of the Alaskan people as a whole. Liberals find it very hard to believe that there are people who are that independent and free. They don't need permission to live the way they want and they are not apologists. They are 180-degrees the opposite of, say a NY or Boston liberal, who believe in gun control and directing others' entitlements.
Palin is patriotic, proud and family-orientated. Her problems within her own family are HER'S – not theirs. Liberals can't stand her for the pure fact that she remains upbeat – no matter what they throw at her.
I blame the editors/copy editors here … such silly, off subject attacks don't belong in a book review. They should have been caught during the copy editing process.
When you mentioned the word "lie," & Washington Post, in the same post, it made me think of the Pulitzer Prize winning writer, Janet Cooke, whose award was rescinded for of all things….making up a story.
"Knight takes pawn, and Sarah Palin is a pawn of the right wing conspiracy"
or how about "please pray for Sister Ethel McGillicuddy's cousin who is underging a gall bladder surgery and for Sarah Palin's eternal soul"?
MSM Journalists are like monkeys who throw their poop whenever they are angry or needing attention.
Today, their poop is thrown at Sarah Palin, who is wise enough to know that it is just poop and the monkeys will eventually get tired and start grooming each other to pass the time (Pulitzer Prizes and Gridiron dinners).
I think come November 2012 more than half of the country will vote for Palin if she is on the ticket just to spite the MSM and watch their heads explode. The stores won't be able to stock enough popcorn for election night. Sure Keith Overdrive's show will have its highest ratings ever that night as viewers turn in to watch someone have a complete and total mental breakdown on national TV.
Seriously, this is getting beyond absurd. Like yesterday’s “scandal” about her story about her brother being taken to a Canadian hospital in the 60’s.
there's BDS, and then there's OCD/BDS. and the new OCD/PDS, of course…
Yet the MSM conveniently ignores Obama's past, including the parts that have been deliberately withheld.
Unless they endorse that kind of childish behavior….
I'm not introducing an unnecessary step. You're just too obtuse to digest what I have no doubt is self-evident to most people here. Hollywood is a natural extension of high school dynamics. Politics, by contrast, is not a vapid profession. I mean you'd have to be uncommonly stupid to think that policy and government are indistinguishable from entertainment in terms of the seriousness they're accorded. And I'm sure that you aren't.
What is true is that politics can play out like a vapid popularity contest. And that's where the obsessive hatred of her comes in. She's everything they hated, yet popular on turf they consider to be the rightful province of "smart" people like themselves. Not that they hold liberal politicians to the same standard, but I shouldn't have to spell it out for you around here that my whole comment was predicated on the reality that it is conservatives that are subjected to this kind of rage.
Hi all. i'm not surprised that a hack from the WaPo would write such a lame piece. You have to remember that these papers are just hanging on, waiting for a bailout (or a tax status change) from Obama to stay in business. Unlike most other workers the ones in the newspapers (even the few real journalist driven papers I'm sorry to say) employees from these entities are truly screwed. Their skill set will be unneeded in the workplace and as a result they will find it very difficult to find meaningful employment and a wage similar to what they were making. I have no sympathy for the reporters and the editors but I understand why they are taking any chance at all to slag Palin who is doing more for the conservative movement then any figure since Reagan. They need the Dem/Libs in power to get that bail-out.
Yup. That's why these inappropriate comments "get through."
Perhaps Sarah is just too plain polite and nice to mention to Ms Stabenow that she doesn't like her books.
Just the mention of Sarah Palin makes the libs go ballistic. Keep up the good work!!! LOL
Hm. Did he try to prove that Grendel was an ancestor of George Bush and Beowulf was a Democrat?
I still don't understand why everyone in the MSM is ignoring that. You'd think that "investigative journalists" would be drooling over a story like that.
Right, and if someone actually calls them out on it they issue an "apology". Kind of like un-ringing a bell….
You'd think that a sufferer from Palin Derangement might be willing to recognize her political skills at least, in the backhanded way that they used to compliment Reagan's skills as a 'communicator'.
But that's what derangement is all about. A book reviewer without proven political skills is criticising a politician who skyrocketed from oblivion to presidential contender by her mid-forties. Any non-deranged person should be able to watch a few video clips of her interaction with voters and be stunned by her ability to establish instant rapport. But Patrick Anderson knows better. He thinks she should learn to lie casually, like most politicians.
Incidentally, Stabenow is a well-known Alaskan mystery writer but she's not very good. Maybe Palin had in fact read one of her novels and didn't mention it on purpose.
That which does not defeat you, makes you stronger.
Robert E. Howard
So-called black leadership has been beaten so silly by Rahm Emmanuel's wet towel from the workout gym that they are incapable of mustering an iota of outrage towards their Democrat Party Slavemasters.
Not doubt Hollywood's handsome racist slavemaster George Cooney thinks Rahm Emmaunel is a GREAT humanitarian

Critics seem to use every opportunity they can to attack former Governor Sarah Palin and her family. Even though she is no longer in elected office, some seem unable to control their disdain for Ms. Palin———————————————————–
——————————————-
Perhaps if she would stop prostituting herself throughout the country as the political candidate she is not and stop showing her stupidity every time she opens her mouth. We are just tire of this moron who Fox news keeps selling their audience.
Especially when they not only don't defeat you, they shoot themselves in the foot…
They can't get over the fact that someone who bears such a resemblance to the people they hated in high school has managed to become successful. She reminds them too much of all the people they couldn't get a date with — and much of their resentment is based on the implication that she and all the others like her are still out of their league, so to speak.
Sarah Palin is the grown-up equivalent of the popular girl in school who had horrible, disgusting things about her scrawled on the walls in the bathrooms by certain classmates who didn't get the attention she got.
Liberals can't stand her for the pure fact that she remains upbeat – no matter what they throw at her.
And so they console themselves that anyone who can stand up with equanimity to the kinds of things they've thrown at her must be a brainless Pollyanna, anyway. To a lot of modlibs, Palin's too stupid to know when she's being made fun of.
Thanks for stopping by, troll, your case of Sarah Derangement Syndrome is duly noted for our files…
…assclown.
These MSM nuts have some serious self esteem issues. How sad must some one be to literally jump on any band wagon just to be part of the cool clique.
Any newspaper that wants to regain the public's trust should start publishing its "Retractions" section right at the bottom of Page 1.
But you ARE introducing an unnecessary step, and my point WAS that politics has devolved into vapid popularity contests, especially when it comes to the national arena. One can actually be vapid to participate too.
You are confusing tactics with motive. You are contending that their bias against Palin originates from the high school popularity arena (if you disagree with this statement simply reread your own first post). This is just absurd. Journalists did not suddenly become liberal as revenge for Palin entering politics, they have historically been liberal. You are putting the cart before the horse.
To illustrate my point imagine if Palin was liberal. By your admission since she would still go against their high school perceptions she would still be portrayed the same way by journalists. Do you really think that would happen? To say that Palin is unpopular to liberals because she is stupid is like saying that conservatives hate boring individuals so much that, despite their politics, Gore and Kerry were not popular with conservatives. Portraying Palin is stupid is a result of bias, not the reason for it.
They are so surrounded and coddled by the bastion of liberalism they live in they don't even realize there might be anyone reading them who might have another point of view. If they ever come up against someone or something that questions their point of view they just dismiss it as crazy or stupid or uninformed, as one can easily see by the trolls that often visit.
So in your view doing a book tour and speaking at events you're asked to speak at is "prostituting yourself" Well then Bill Clinton is definitely more of a prostitute than anyone. His speaking fees almost match the size of his ego.
1) she isn't "prostituting" herself as a political candidate -how nice of you to call her a whore, by the way- she isn't running for anything.
2) she is covered more by progressive "News" sources like MSNBC and the NYT than by Fox, though admittedly that will be changing soon since she works for Fox.
3) people like you constantly refer to her as saying stupid things, but to anyone with a basic knowledge of how the US Gov't was designed to work, the majority of the things she says makes perfect sense. In other words, you only call her stupid bc you disagree with her. Congratulations, you're a misogynist AND a jackass.
4)If you don't like her, Fox News or sites like- oh I dunno, Big Hollywood- don't watch them. I hate Bill Maher, so the only way I find out about the ignorant, psychotic ramblings he spouts is when he gets in the news for saying outrageously ignorant, psychotic ramblings.
5- Grow up.
except in this case, she wasn't even mentioned. the whole point of the article is that the reviewer is so unbalanced and biased that he can't keep his political opinions out of a review of a fiction book that isn't even loosely related to politics.
The moonbats on the left hate Almighty GOD & voice that hatred of Almighty GOD through the endless attacks on people like Sarah Palin who are not ashamed of the faith in Almighty GOD. They are insulting & attacking GOD through Sarah Palin & others like her. Her faith in Almighty GOD is THE reason Sarah Palin terrifies the moonbats on the left & in the Democrat & Republican Parties to the point of drooling insanity. The left want GOD eradicated from America & the American people to join them in their defiance of GOD. If Sarah Palin were an atheist or an agnostic the left would support her, not attack her.
Naw, BO is the biggest prostitute by virtue of showing up on tv just about every freakin day and selling his pack of lies – over and over
I grew up in Alaska, from age 10 to age 22 ( yes, I DID live through the infamous Good Friday Earthquake); ergo, I know Alaskans. Here's a statistic that, to me, has always personified the character of the kind of people who chose to live in the state we call 'The Last Frontier'. Alaska has the highest percentage of Ph.D's per capita – and the highest percentage of drunks. (That's a fact.) So now that this idiot Pat Anderson has made a complete jerk of himself in his column, he should expect a stream of letters from a lot of drunks up north – and the drunks will write better.
I'm not surprised. It was another book review in the WaPo that needlessly slammed Republicans that finally drove me to cancel my subscription. Ron Charles' opened his 1/13 review of "Remarkable Creatures" with:
"Tracy Chevalier's new novel depicts people who believe that God created human beings just a few thousand years ago. But instead of setting "Remarkable Creatures" during the 2008 Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn., Chevalier digs back to the English town of Lyme Regis in the early 19th century."
After I read that second sentence I dropped the paper and immediately cancelled my subscription. I also emailed Mr. Charles and the Post's ombudsman. Mr. Charles justified his slam by citing a Gallup poll (which showed that a significant number of Dems also believe man was created by a divine being). I emailed back, but it was obvious that he couldn't grasp the larger concept that his liberal snark just didn't belong in the book reivew at all. I never did hear from the ombudsman.
[...] Breitbart [...]
Who else do they have to bash??? they are bashing TV/Radio PUNDITS… this is the only real republican they can smash…. and to think that they dislike ehr becuase she is not ELITIST smug pro LIB….. ghhhees, I hate the vapid actors/comedians and the worthless TV anchors and reporters that dislike this women… I tell you, she is the one that will BRING the CHANGE we are looking for!!!
I'm thinking that when you lie to an author about loving his or her book, the author knows you're lying and lies in turn about being appreciative of the compliment.
Egad.
Does he think authors can't tell the difference between a person who actually did love their book and someone who didn't even read it? Authors meet other authors all of the time, too, without having read their books. It's not a disaster.
I'll have to look up Dana Stabenow at the library, though, and check her out.
Sarah is too wise to care.
Kind of wondering what it is that you do for a living, Abe, that makes you feel so free to label journalists and screenwriters "almost universally losers." Ignoring the fact, for the moment, that successful screenwriters make millions of dollars a year — as do the top journalists, by the way — the fact is that huge numbers of Americans are desperate to become professional screenwriters. They apparenlty don't consider it to be a profession of losers. So who's a winner in your books, Abe?
We liberals will continue to find it hard to believe Alaskans are that independent and free until they stop stealing tax dollars from more populous states, and until each Alaskan citizen stops accepting that big welfare check from the state every year.
Sane people don't vote for a candidate they feel is unqualified just to annoy someone they don't like. This is what kindergarteners might do. Adults, not so much.
This crap of bashing Palin and other conservatives has become a cult to these out of control kooks.
Boycott them all, and their sponsors, and never stop. When they bash palin, they are really bashing all of us because she represents average Americans and that's why they hate her.
.
If she had lied out of politeness about reading the book, the the same presstitutes would be howling for her to submit a book report to prove that she actually read it and screaming for her to provide a quote from it. She can't win with these ….. creatures.
Trolls Trolls everywhere
What they think, no one cares
To have a brain, they must share
The violent creeper socialists firebombed Palin's church Dec 2008, two weeks before Christmas with people inside, after they had already won the election.
The more the troll-mothers at the WaPo and NYT and networks spew, the more they incite the baby trolls on the net to act out their brain-damaged violent fantasies.
These stupid liberals are incapable of knowing that the more slamming of Palin that they do the more credibility she gains. I don't think she's POTUS material (right know anyway) but with every slam the lib's hate and fear of her or anyone like her is exposed ticks up by disgust of libs…if that's possible.
Let the hateful libs and ring wing pundits continue to attack Sarah Palin even day and night. She will become first female POTUS in 2012, anyway. God has written in His palm that Palin will replace Obama in 2012. I will surely donate a bottle of Chilean wine to every democrats and libs if ever Palin wins POTUS on 2012. Ha ha ha!!
You think so? We will see in November 2012 and if Palin wins, I will celebrate with you and I will treat you with my open heart. Sarah Palin is written in God's palm that she will replace Obama in 2012!! Will you diasagree with Him??
All the book has to do is have the word "Alaska" in it and the rant is off and running in the liberal reader's head before they read anything else.
You are very right!! within my family alone having 10 voting members. We have voted for Obama last 2008 but comes 2012, we will all agreed to vote for Sarah Palin. This means, as of this time, Obama already lost 10 voters. It seems we are tired of male presidents. We want to try female species as the next POTUS on 2012. By the way, we are from Hollywood California.
After I watched the movie 2012. I had a dream and my dream pertains to United States of America. In my dream, 2012 became a reality. United States and the rest of Americas were destroyed by earthquake and by tsunami. What amazed me is that only Alaska from the American continent was spared from the total destruction and life and society was renewed and rebuilt under the abled leadership of a woman
I'm unable to take WAPO's Democrat Slave Plantation seriously; what can say I Love America and the Lady of Liberty is an awesome force for Freedom against Democrat Party tyranny.
I raise the palm of my hand to Sarah Palin!
I watched Jessie Ventura yesterday and he said"if Palin is a tea party goer then I wont be " and I also found out that he believes in 9/11 cospiracy ,so I think that ,
1. He thinks that it is cool to slash Palin.
2. He thinks that Bush blew up the trade centre.
3. That the 4th Admendment is dead.
4. That anyone who does not think like him is stupid. WOW, One headslam too many I think.
I am mystified how someone who voted for Obama can be disappointed by what he is trying to do. I can understand how some might be disappointed in his (so far) lack of success in pulling it off but he's pretty damn close so why give up on him so soon? But the real mystery is why someone who would vote for Palin could have ever voted for Obama. What is it that could make *both* of them attractive choices?
Ah, wait! I reread your post and see you now want a *female* president, so perhaps your family only voted for Obama because he was *black*? And if Palin doesn't work out for you, what group gets your next "pity vote"?
I despair. My only hope is that I missed the sarcasm in your post.
Exactly. How does this nitwit Patrick Anderson know if Sarah Palin didn't read the author's books? Or if she did and didn't like them, she didn't want to lie about that fact to the author?
Last week the entertainment media described Palin and her entourage as bumpkins grabbing anything on offer in some 'gift suite.' Nothing about that story is true, yet it is repeated all over the entertainment 'net, and will be brought up for years.
Then, we have the story about Hypocrite Palin who went to socialist Canada for medical care. Well, she was around 6 years old, her parents lived in Skagway Alaska. The closest city to that very isolated hamlet is Whitehorse, Yukon. Americans always have had to pay for any medical care they access in Canada. The one advantage they have had at times is currency exchange rates. Then some idiot says that Palin said they went to Juneau for medical care, and GOSH, she must be lying about SOMETHING because Juneau is different from Whitehorse! Well, duh. Depending on the time of the year, ferry service, the health crisis being solved, she could have been taken to either Juneau OR Whitehorse. Just typing this out is making me so ANGRY!
It isn't only lefty foolishness and unreasoning hatred that gives rise to these stories. It is sheer downright ignorance.
I for one will welcome the demise of the large national newspapers.
what is a "Patrick Anderson?" friggin liberal nutters live an
unhinged life.
The Wa.Po is as bad as that" One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest" MSNBC. Those loons over there are coming unhinged. Sarah spooks the hell out of them and I love it. "She is daylight to the vampires."
This crap of bashing Palin and other conservatives has become a cult to these out of control kooks.
Boycott them all, and their sponsors, and never stop. When they bash palin, they are really bashing all of us because she represents average Americans and that's why they hate her.
.
Read my lips: Sarah Palin will become first female POTUS on 2012! If this is God's Will, so be it and thy will be done. Not even Obama the One can stop this!! Do not mock the name of God and His commandments. Have you ever know what happened to TITANIC when the builder commented that not even God can sink this ship?? Watch out liberals, democrats and sinful GOP elites. Your time will come soon to an end!! You all represent that second Sodom and Gomorrha.
You liberals have no idea what you're talking about. The "money" that goes to Alaska is spent pretty much on the "entitlements" that you give to the "native people" of Alaska. Because your parents and grandparents set about to make THEM dependents, you have written ever larger and larger entitlement programs to give THEM. It is THOSE people who you have impoverished – impoverished in spirit, culture, and soul. And, in spite of the vastness of the dollars you have spent upon them and given to them, they simply become ever more poor. The rest of Alaska, whom you give NOTHING to, are the fishermen, oilmen, dairymen, ranchers, pilots, and everything else that normal societies have – don't like what you've done to their neighbors. Most of them have battled and won odds against every form of adversity so overwhelming you'd have no idea what to do other than just curl up and die. But do it daily and cheerfully, and every now and then, one of them comes down here and shares that sunny strength you don't even understand, with the rest of us.
LOL, maybe Palin's old fashioned… where people lived by the rules of: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Speaking of the STATUS of "moron", t'would have been better to keep the mouth closed, than to open it and allow those those doubts to be completely dispelled.
The demise of the large national newspapers will not bring about the demise of the widespread abject idiocy that has permeated pop culture – and is now labled "smart".
I.m sure Obama would lie about reading her books. He has no problem with that.
Hey, thats what happens with celebrities. They are invariably linked to related subjects, especially when their star is burning hot at the moment. While the book review is weak and the reviewer's ego is ridiculously large, he didn't go out of his way to swipe Palin. Today, ask people the first thing they think of when you say the word "Alaska", I'd bet three quarters respond with Palin. It was hardly harsh criticism. It was a book review that takes a couple jabs at her. So change your diaper, wipe away your tears and buck up champ, the sun will be out tomorrow.
Truth hurts doc.
No way, Clinton's ego is bigger than anything. You got it right, doing a book tour and getting paid big money to speak is "prostituting yourself".
BO is POTUS you moron. Just because you can't accept it doesn't mean it isn't true.
Cut back on the coffee.
She is definitely prostituting herself, for money, the secondary benefit is to stay in the spotlight and grow name recognition for when she is ready to run for something. She is definitely in campaign mode.
She IS news, media wants to make money so they'll shovel out whatever the rubes want to feed on.
Not everything she says is stupid, but she does say more than enough stupid things. Its become part of her reputation. I like her populist message, but its made rotten by the misinformation, condescension and red meat she tosses for the rightwing crackpots who worship her.
Its all about money.
Well, then your life is pain-free, you lying leftist loser…
…the inconsequential chillbilly from Wasilly has played you morons like the limp-wristed Obama-lickers you are…haha
I wonder if the author ever met Sarah Palin, would he tell her that he "loved" her book?
