No other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small…Obama has relied on a teleprompter through even the shortest announcements and when repeating the same lines on his economic stimulus plan that he’s been saying for months….In a break from his routine, Obama did not use a teleprompter during his pre-Inauguration speech at a factory in Bedford Heights, Ohio — and his delivery seemed to suffer. He paused too long at parts. He accentuated the wrong words. And overall he sounded hesitant and halting as he spoke from the prepared remarks on the podium…
“The problem is, he never looks at you,” [a television crewmember said.] He’s looking left, right, left, right — not at the camera. It’s almost like he’s not making eye contact with the American people.”
First Lady Michelle Obama said she is confident that her husband will be able to wean himself off the teleprompter just as he’s done at home, where as of this year he no longer needs it to tuck the girls in at night.

Now the plan is to put a computer screen in the podium, for him to read off of, and get answer to the questions asked. So instead of looking left and right, he will be looking down!

I must be in a parallel universe. I look at the same Obama that everyone else looks at, I read the same speeches everyone else reads, hear the same mumbling words, discover the same facts about him, etc. And I can NOT for the life of me fathom how anyone in a sane universe could ever, by any stretch of the imagination, use the words 'brilliant' or 'smart' or 'articulate' to describe this person. He's none of those things. None of the facts, the speeches, none of his (missing) grades or his (non-existent) papers, nor his books (which he didn't write), nor his association with terrorists and racists, etc. supports any thing except the truth that this man is a racist, bumbling, inarticulate, corrupt moron. I see this truth, I hear it – it's inescapable.

Not sure if anyone else posted this but it's pretty clear that when you're outright lying to the American people it's a great idea to not only have someone keeping tracking of each lie, but also telling each lie so that it can seem straight forward to the only partially paying attention crowd. (Them the Sheeple) If I were a professional liar I would have both a teleprompter and a stenographer.

So the fact that someone can nominate so many people who are unqualified for the position and completely devoid of ethics and morals, unaware of how many states there are in the country, unaware of what year he was born, can't pay attention to the fluctuations of the market place and was reportedly so overwhelmed by all the President has to do, all of this makes you think of competence? Then hearing a million umm's, finding out that he can't speak without his teleprompter, and then hearing him talk of the greatest crisis this generation has faced just a day before he says it's not that bad, Not even hearing that he would ban all earmarks before signing a bill loaded with them, all that, doesn't put the fear of God in you?

Can you imagine someone pulling a 'Anchorman, Legend of Ron Burgandy' prank on Obama. We had "Extemporaneous Tuesdays" in 9th grade English. We'd have about 10 minutes to write a speech on a topic of the teacher's choosing, then after time was up, we could write up to 10 reminder words on another sheet of paper and then give the speech to the class. You lost a point for every um, er, like, y'know, or long pause. By the end of the semester, no one was scoring less than 98. The speeches were generally 2-3 minutes. Given an equal time limit, and equal resources, I don't think Obama could score a passing grade.
