Jimmy Crowley: One Good Cop
by Jimmy AroneI like Sgt. James Crowley. I like him a lot.
Jimmy, from all accounts, has shown himself to be a stand-up guy. A good man, a good cop. Someone who is respected and loved by the people who matter most in his life: family, friends and the men and women who serve with him in the Cambridge Police Department, back in my home state of Massachusetts. Anyone who saw the strong statements made by Sgt. Leon Lashley and Officer Kelly King in support of their colleague can appreciate that these two people came forward.
I’m happy for Jimmy Crowley because now that the dog and pony show staged by the ringmaster-in-chief is officially over, he can get on with his life. Go back home where he belongs, with his wife and kids, being a dad. He can hold his head high for the way he conducted himself, after being called “a racist” by a good friend of the president during an unfortunate event which should never have occurred in the first place.
I can only imagine Jimmy’s shock as he was thrust into the spotlight on July 22 after President Obama, while speaking at a national press conference on health-care reform, decided to foolishly comment on the subject of the arrest of his pal, Professor Skip Gates. As we now know on July 16, Sgt. James Crowley responded to a 9-1-1 call at a home on Ware St., in Cambridge. Upon arriving on the scene he was met by the woman who had made the phone call and proceeded to investigate a possible break-in at the residence.
The rest, as they say, is history and I’m not going to rehash the event.
There are enough stories out there on the Internet along with the police report of the arrest for those who wish to read it.
So now what? In a brief statement made by Officer Crowley after the White House get together, he mentioned that both men wanted to look forward, rather than backward. Agree to disagree on the particular issue.
No apologies were made, which at least in regard to the president and Mr. Gates, in my opinion, is unfortunate. For all the president’s “talk” about “a teachable moment,” in the end, it was just that. All talk. No action. The White House got their photo-op and now they’re happy. Too bad; they blew it.
An opportunity to “right the wrong” is gone. As they sat at the table, sipping their beer, what would it have taken for Mr. Gates to look Mr. Crowley in the eye and say “I’m sorry”? You know, something like, “I’m sorry for the way I behaved. I was tired after a very long trip, locked out of my home and I should have known better. Please, accept my apology,” to which Mr. Crowley more than likely would have said, “Apology accepted.” Now, there’s a teachable moment for you, America. Have the strength of character to admit when you’re wrong and take responsibility for your actions. Man, this country could have been lifted up, big time, had that happened. No dice.
And what’s up with our president? Here is a man who traveled all over Europe apologizing left and right for supposed past mistakes made by the United States. He can’t find a way to say, “I’m sorry Mr. Crowley”? He doesn’t have it in him to apologize not only to the men and women of the Cambridge PD, but law enforcement officers all across the country for his off-the-cuff, boneheaded statement? Instead we get this “regrettable, calibrate my words” crap. This is leadership? Ugh!
Maybe, it’s just me. Maybe I’m a little sensitive because my dad was a firefighter for 22 years outside of Boston. He knew a lot of cops as we were growing up. He would tell my brothers and me, if you’re ever stopped by a police officer, you show respect. Keep your mouth shut. Don’t talk back. You’ll never have a problem. He was right. But hey, that was another time and place.
Today is a new day. We live in the age of moral equivalency. We’re told both sides overreacted. There is no “right” there is no “wrong.” The black professor with a chip on his shoulder is no different than the white cop out doing his job. What a bunch of bull.
But hey, it’s over. Last call at The White House Tavern came and went without a lot of fanfare. Until next time.
As for me, I’ll close with this… I respect Sgt. Crowley and wish him all the best. He made a lot of cops and many Americans from coast to coast very proud. If you were to ask, I would say what this country needs are a few more men like Jimmy Crowley.
A stand-up guy and an honest cop if ever there was one.

Great !
"A stand-up guy and an honest cop if ever there was one."
All I got out of the Beer Summit, is a flashback to pictures of people being summoned to the Eagle's Nest. Picture taken and then give to his propaganda minister with a suitable caption. Good Article Jimmy.
Mr. Arone points out a sad state of affairs confronting not just the U.S. but the World. We are at a crossroads, facing a crisis not seen in most of our lives and the situation calls for great men who can stand on principle and can lead. Instead we have been cursed with a small man, who believes the sycophantic lies of his supporters that he need only smile, lift his arms up high and all the world's troubles will disappear. Character does matter, it always has and sadly very few of our politicians have it.
The entire surreal event will someday be viewed as a historical turning point in the Obama administration. Obama was revealed for what he really is. The emperor has no clothes.
"Obama was revealed for what he really is. The emperor has no clothes. "
The emperor has no clue !
/fixed it
LOL
Mr Crowley was put into an untenable position…
And he came through it with flying colors. The pressure on him to exculpate the Harvard Professor must have been intense- yet he said exactly what needed to be said. Two people met, agreed to disagree (our trolls should learn that!) and will now move forward…
A good day for Sgt Crowley. A not so good day for Barack Obama…
I hope, at least now, Crowley can walk the streets in safely without the POTUS putting a tag on his head.
Also, the photo of Crowley helping Gates down the steps while Obama lead in front for the cameras was priceless. The guy who was wrongly accused in this showed no grudge and helped the guy with the issues. The character shown is lost on those of the left that are more interested in bravado and words.
I can sort of understand how everything might seem racist to someone who's black. I definitely don't agree with them, but I do understand it.
But these white Liberals, the way they fan the flames of racism is unexcusable, and unforgiveable.
I'm just sorry that the mainstream media has not seen fit to publish the photo of Seargent Crowley helping Gates down the steps of the White House. He's a true gentleman. His family and friends can be proud of his manners and for that he has been insulted and vilified. It is truly a sad time for America.
Yeah, I was equally struck how the "racist" cop, Crowley, showed more concern for Gates' safety than Obama.
Actions truly do speak louder than words.
As a Black, I admit that after the Rodney King beating I was a little on edge the following week.
However, as time passed, I realized that while there are racist cops the situation is not NEARLY as bad as what my parents went through. Overall, cops like my friend's husband are good people.
Another thing I realized was how cops' most vocal Black critics (Sharpton, Jackson, etc.) are often silent about Black-on-Black violence, which kills FAR more Black people than police brutality does.
This is contrast validates Dr. King's timeless words about people being judged by their character, not skin color.
I wish I could conclude that the incident is closed, but it's not. Sad to say, but the "suds summit" only confirms that race is a permanent fixture of the grievance industry. Now we are forced to admit what many of us suspected; "post-racial" was just an advertising slogan all along. Sad. So very, very sad.
Sgt. Crowley is a very likable individual. That being said, I don't think he should've even went to the White House for this stupid Beer Summit.
Just engaging in this obvious distraction gives the sense that there was something wrong with the way he did his job on that fateful night.
This man is obviously a professional — I hate that he got dragged down to this race-baiting Obama tactic.
THE COP DON@T deserve an apology….no no no. Gates is right to send flowers to the lady, in fact i cherish his tack. Here are two unequal men, gates as one of the growing numbers of breakthrough black citizen including the POTUS and players and CEO ho can stand tall over jealous middle class whites. Bitter pills, yeah sallow that

Crowley shows he's a good guy once again at the beer summit. The only thing missing was a press release from Obama saying that we need to believe in the police because they function to protect us. How about a little mea culpa from the President to Crowley that the press gets to report on? That would be priceless.
Sean, how to say it? Stupid is as stupid does. The content of their character is important, not the color of their skins.
Oh, could you please learn how to spell and write? It was hard to read and understand. I know you are using a form of English, just not the form of English most Americans use.
There is no right, there is no wrong, just data to be manipulated. What's it worth to you?I am an expert witness,BECAUSE I SAY I AM!And there is no nore room in the garden of Allah.
indeed.
A wise man once told us to pick our battles wisely- for you just might lose one you shouldn't have engaged in…
Wise advice for the dilletant-in-chief.
I repsect the hell out of him… a good cop and a stand up FAMILY guy…. and he was tossed into the ring with the MESSIAH and a professor….. that is a PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL… damn, what a combination to have a BEER SUMMIT with.. I honestly think that the VP or say it ain't so JOE has the lowest IQ among them……..A beer summit when HEALTHCARE is on the table… does our president have his RESPONSIBILITIES out of place?? drinking on the job, with a MAJOR bill on the table??? cmon, what a way to divert attention to another issue…. man, this MESSIAH is one of a KIND!!!
Amen.
Good column. Crowley deserves all the tributes he can get.
Jimmy, I understand why you would want grown ups to behave as such, unfortunately, neither the POTUS and the Professor can apologize when they are in fact doing exactly what they have been taught their entire lives, especially Gates. What they did was not a mistake! Today a grown educated man can behave that way and hold his head high…that's the sad part. Sgt. Crowley on the other hand was the picture of reason and even in the face of extreme bigotry, those of us who are actually moving forward have to behave better if we are to continue to move forward and attract reasonable people so that this kind of time warp mentality of perpetual victimization can have it's place in history and not in the political arena. Let's hope we prevail!
I am proud that America was introduced to a fine officer like Sgt. Crowley. We know his record must be very strong if the MSM did not find anything to publish. There are many officers like Sgt. Crowley that serve our community every day and they just happen to be of many skin colors. We need to Honor these men and women more often as your article did.
Thanks Jimmy
Thank you Sgt. Crowley for your service. Mr. Gates lacks civility and manners. And Mr. Obama, while seemingly civil, is just like Gates. And his proverbial slip is showing.
Can you imagine what the Harvard Fall class for Gates must be thinking right now? This moment will be discussed, dissected, and regurgitated every day by his minions in class.
How's that hope and change working for you?

Anyone got a pic of Crowley helping Gates? I can't find one.
Jimmy: right from the beginning of this story, you and I have been exactly on the same page. Great job, my friend!
I was very impressed with Sgt. Crowley, even more so after the press conference. I'd think he could hold his own with anybody, because he has the core values he lives by and won't compromise. I'm also glad HE didn't apologize and said they would "agree to disagree". I hope his he and his family will be left alone now to enjoy their lives.

Well written piece. My takeaway from this purely American event is this:
If our country was full of Crowleys we would be a helluva lot better off as a society, a nation, a people.
I can't say the same about the other two.
Hoist a cool brew to this….

It's at Hot Air and they have a caption contest for the photo. The one that I liked was from "Christien". "A Cop, Skip and a Chump from the White House".
Nice article Jimmy, as always. I know a lot of cops and being called racist is nothing new for them, that seems to come with the job now. BUT basically being called racist by the President, now that's something new.
And Crowley to his vast credit has remained calm and professional. That's truly impressive. A lesser man would have been on every talk show he could find calling our stupid leader all kinds of nasty names. Even the way he handled this beer summit was incredibly professional.
Crowley deserve a big round of applause.
Beautiful!
I think it's fair to say, and may even be stating the obvious, but you have to be a tad bit on the physically aggressive side to even be a cop in the first place.
So given that, how much of a freaking moron would I have to be to start pushing those guys' buttons in an already tense situation? Mouthing off to a cop? Not smart, people…
As to Rodney King, if he'd stop getting likkered up, slapping his wife around, then racing through the L.A. freeways at upwards of 100 miles an hour, we'd all "just git along" really, really well.
So much for our public schools.
If you get a chance, look at the photo today in the WSJ's "personal journal" section. A picture is worth a thousand words. This photo shows two smug looking, self-satisfied black guys (Obama and Gates) and one miserable looking white guy (Crowley) clinking beer mugs. (Biden isn't in the picture).
http://i32.tinypic.com/259zodi.jpg
ILITERITS FOUR OBAMA! YAY!!!!
That Picture says it ALL….Cheers Brother.
That pic pretty much says it all.
Crowley should look into moving out of the People's Republic of M'ass (sic) <s>
I'm sure there are any number of police departments in outside the Blue Zone who would love to have a qualified, capable cop.
Any neighbor of Gates's who would call 9-11 even if they saw that reprehensible pile of dog manure being mugged on his front lawn is certifiable. Any cop who would respond to a call at his address likewise needs psychiatric meds.
What this episode showed us is that we have elected a Racist as president.
And, by the way, anybody know what "black studies" are and why it's being taught at Harvard? Any African-American attending Harvard most likely doesn't need "black studies" and being at Harvard, Gates has insulated himself from the under privileged kids who probably DO.

James Crowley has a lot of class.
Our President should take lessons from him.
Rodney King's beating put whites on edge, too. It wasn't Mr. King's color that mattered; it was the violence directed at another human being. What blacks saw as a "black thing", whites saw as a "human thing" and therein lies the divide between us. Until that can be addressed — and it can only be addressed by blacks — we will remain a divided country. Mr. Obama is doing nothing to bring us together; gaffes like the Crowley-Gates gaffe only show whites that the president is a knee-jerk Racist quick on the trigger to blame white skin for everything — just like Reverend Wright said in his sermons.
Sgt. Crowley is the hero in all this. He maintained a professional demeanor and was the "grown up" in dealing with two empty souls. Not a proud day for America when a hard working cop outshines the POTUS and his racist buddy. Thank you Sgt. Crowley for all you do to make this country a better place.
This is on the topic of the beer summit generally, but check out the video at this link, which captures the bizarre nature of the awkward White House photo-op: http://optoons.blogspot.com/2009/08/surreal-film-... (scroll down for the video)
It is time to drop the racist label for good. It is tired and overused.
Humans sort for difference and respond based on their internal reality.
Lets get over that fact.
Well said, Jimmy. Sounds like Sgt. Crowley has handled this entire circus event with dignity, and has shown himself to be a better man than either of the other two.
I especially agree with you on the vapidity of the President, claiming this to be a "teachable moment" and then letting the opportunity pass with nothing but a smug grin. The man has no problem kowtowing to Saudis or accepting blame for the Cold War on behalf of his country, but when it comes to one-on-one interactions – being put into a position where he could actually answer for his *own* actions instead of those he "inherited" – he utterly fails to demonstrate any of the humility he's supposedly famous for. Instead of offering an apology, he pretends as if nothing happened, makes these two guys share a drink, and then puffs out his chest for being a "peacemaker". The wrong isn't confronted, the slight isn't addressed; Obama just tries to cover it up with some beer while exploiting it as a photo opportunity.
The only thing I learned from this "teachable moment" is that some people bray about how noble they are and list the obstacles they have to face to others, while the ones who really are noble demonstrate that quality quietly and consistently. As Jesus said, the ones who make a big show of it have already gotten their reward.
You are so right, Tom. But the liberal racists never stop. In yesterdays NY Times, Bob Herbert wrote
"Black people are constantly being stopped, searched, harassed, publicly humiliated, assaulted, arrested and sometimes killed by police officers in this country for no good reason.
New York City cops make upwards of a half-million stops of private citizens each year, questioning and frequently frisking these men, women and children. The overwhelming majority of those stopped are black or Latino, and the overwhelming majority are innocent of any wrongdoing. ".
Apparently Herbert slept through the last three decades. But he never stops encouraging racial escalation. Racial harmony would put him out of business.
Crowley definitely had the best taste in beer of the four. Light beer? Sigh. If Gates had gone for a regular Sam Adams instead of light, I would have called it a draw.
From Hotair.com
Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own. So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that he is oblivious?
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_r1AxIJszWSA/SnNgEsdB16I...
For in the last three decades we have learned that when liberals scream " profiling is evil", what they really mean is "profiling works, and now someone I know is in jail". Profiling includes dozens of factors to look at including race, gender, age, physical appearance, dress, attitude, demeanor, etc.. Usually age is the primary factor. Not too many elderly of any race or gender committing violent street crimes. Young men commit most street crime, and in high crime neighborhoods young men in the street are stopped by police. How else could this be done? Any other way would be imbecilic.
Sean, do you speak english? Gates was arrested for being an idiot. His skin color could have been blue with yellow polka dots & his childish tantrum against the officer would have gotten him arrested virtually anywhere. I keep wondering why he tried to piss off the officer at every turn. I know now. He wanted to be arrested to create a "teachable moment" with him "enlightening" us peons. Well, he was completely at fault, and if he wasn't famous, the charges against him would not have been dropped. Act like a thug, get treated like a thug. There's nothing like equality.
You should see bob herbert's idiotic NY Times column yesterday, pushing that same "fight the police" attitude at every turn. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/01/opinion/01herbe...
Alvaro, you're right. They will never grow out of blaming others, for they are ridiculous enough to actually believe thet you & I are the cause of all the world's problems. They'll never see that their racialist attitude reveals their belief thet they actually are inferior. They must believe that or they wouldn't lean on the race card so often. When will they wake up to the fact that all men were created equal, but some men do more with it than other men do? Life is not a chart of who is what color.
Nice call-out, Joelim. And Crowley would have been the main course if those cameras hadn't been there. The good sergeant's restraint is amazing. Two grand conspirators and their intended victim. Biden was busy on the other side of the lawn, walking into a tree.
The racist showed his racism. This Emperor is naked of any cloth of truth, dignity or honor. His loud-mouthed racist prof friend is also the same. Only Crowley was clothed in righteousness.
Mark my words – this is a small incident. But I simply know in my bones that this small thing will grow to be massive in the months and years to come. It showed a racist President and Prof being what they are. And all the lies the media spins on it isn't going to take that away. America saw the truth in this incident. And the more manure of lies the media and the Obamatons pour on it will only make the seed of truth grow faster.
he's a class act. barry got on thing right about this being a teachable moment: he could learn mountains from crowley.

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
~ Barack Hussein Obama
"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though."
~ Barack Hussein Obama
We are living in a very dangerous world. A pot smoking, cocaine snorting, Marxist community organizer is now the president of the U.S.
Voters should be required to have a certified IQ of at least 90. But that will never happen because it would decimate the liberal voter base.
But behind all of the "he's a good cop" comments, there is one obvious fact. Being rude to a cop is an arrestable offense. It's not in any law code, but it is a fact of life. Any of us who have lived in cities know that from personal experience. I guess Gates, as a Harvard professor, thought he was above the non-law.

EVERYBODY should see this. It's really scary!!!
Your link has disappeared – however Lucianne saved the day!
with a little editorializing:

RIGHT ON, Jimmy. Head on the nail with that assessment. Black outrage and indignancy seems to relieve any obligation toward either civil behavior or personal responsibility for one's own actions. Instead, with Group-Think, as is so germaine to the left, there is no individual; and only groups, generations are to be held accountable for past sins, real and imagined. And we're left with real individiuals on the left…who are pristine and blameless. They are ascendent creatures, you see. Infinitely more intelligent and evolved as you or I.
Slowly…steadily…one foot-in-mouth, bone-headed, misdirected scandal of arrogance and condescension at a time…and the scales are starting to fall from the eyes of the American public.
Come the New American Revolution.
I was shocked (I don't know why) when he said that his family had to have protection.
What was the purpose of the beer summit again?
When am I gonna get a call from Obama? I am having a dispute with my neighbor over his chainsawing down trees on his property at 3 am for 5 nights straight now.. I drink Becks. Since he already has that in the fridge it should be very low stress.
Here's the "teachable moment" i got outa this.
If you see someone breaking into the house of the black guy across the street, don't get involved.
If this had not become a national story the MSM news media would have simply pulled a "Sarah Palin" on him and he would forever be the racist cop who harrased the distinquished Harvard Professor Gates.
I think we all know better now about a lot of things including the President.
Thanks for the link, good pic

He didn't have a choice.
Sgt. Crowley looked and behaved more presidential than the President.
As Thomas Sowell has stated- Obama has revealed who he is- we should not forget it.
Crowley does his job well and honorably, so he doesn't seek praise. Gates does his job badly and dishonestly, so he does seek praise. Which one does Obama seem most like?
That's because he is. . .
These are not breakthough black citizens. These third rate douchebags are just proof that affirmative action as implemented is destroying the reputation of the Ivy League.
Mr. Gates and Mr. Obama are men with IQ's that should preclude them from being at Harvard in the first place. Sotomayor is now joining the Suprmee Court, where her inferior intellect will doom her to being a mediocrity. If the criteria were objective, we could have given the Hartford Civil Service Exam to the four men at that picnic table and Mr. Biden and Mr. Crowley could get promotions while these two black bums would be assigned to some jobs at which they might display competence.
The call is out to "We the People" to regain control over the system of taxation that allows the elite to fund and push forward these intellectually inferior people in the shallow name of diversity.
I have felt throughout this story that Sgt. Crowley deserved an apology. Too bad gates and obabma were not big enough men to see that . Thank you to you Sgt Crowley for how proud we are of someone like you doing their job and not apologizing for someone else's racism (and they happen to be black) and for not acting like it was your fault when it was completely gates' racism that created a problem in the first place. I cannot tell you how much respect I have for you and the other people, policemen and all who backed you up.
Crowley got the best of the photo-op that Obama wanted. I love this picture with the Obama looking like the elitist that he is.

Hi Fred,
I agree. My uncle's a cop, and he's a good man. On the other hand, I've gone on ride alongs with him. I was disturbed at how rough cops can be, and there's no escalation. They are just "on" from one moment to the next. Jerks, if you will. But they're like that with everybody, not just blacks. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, and Crowley could have simply walked away. But Gates in fact got off easy because of his age and social standing. They wouldn't have gone that easy on one of his white students. For example, I saw white film student at a party get neck-locked and twisted to the ground simply for placing his hand on the cops shoulder in a friendly way. A WHITE film student. Then he got hauled off to jail with all of us protesting and shouting at them to let him go. But again, I can see how that would be hard for some blacks to believe. It's like a racial tunnel vision. But white Liberals have no goddam excuse. They WANT racism to exist because they'd lose all political power if it didn't.
It was a teachable moment. It taught many Obama voters that, next election, they need to calibrate their votes differently.
For me this whole affair was a huge bag of hot air. I'm sorry people but when you know how racist other countries are you thank your stars and garters for the US of A!
Thank you, Sgt. Crowley for your service to our country. You are a man of character. Your family & friends are blessed to have you in their lives as well as the community you serve. I would be honored to have you save me & my property. You represent your profession with dignity & honor. We love you & support you!
Did anyone notice how Gates was handcuffed. The handcuffs were in front of him and not behind his back. Go follow the police around sometime and it will become obvious how very rare that is, especially for black men in America, and men in general.
I think that the bottom line here is simply this:
The President of the United States has to stand for the Rule of Law above all else. Using his "bully pulpit" to unjustly criticize a law enforcement agency and fan racial flames is beneath the dignity and the responsibility of his office.
If he'd rather be a "community organizer", I think they're still hiring back in Chicago.
I have read that the beer klatch was Crowley's idea, but I find the whole thing repugnant. He was doing his job and this sort of thing is below his dignity. If anything, Obama should have held a beer party with himself as the only invited guest. He'd have to look in the mirror at his own inner racist and come to terms with himself.
I like him too. Except for the lying on the police report to justify a bad arrest. But other than that? Awesome guy. (Now in fairness to Crowley, this SOP for many or most arrest reports. But it doesn't help when the eyewitness whose 911 phonecall brought him to the scene has publicly stated that he lied on the arrest report. Oh. And it also doesn't help that the 911 tapes back her up. When it comes to the lying.)
But again. Awesome guy.
I have just four words to illustrate your point about cops: Don't Tase Me Bro
Sean…"breakthrough black citizens"… what do you mean? Please elaborate. In the Houston area, and surrounding burbs, any citizen, or non, breaking through, or threw, may likely end up with lots and lots of buckshot. I understand, correct me if I am wrong, these breakthrough, or threw, citizens, or non, are getting popped like beer cans on a stump in Chicago, by other breakthrough, or threw, or non, citizens. Help me understand….or try sign language.
I too, salute the man. A job well done from beginning to end, Officer Crowley.
You are right on point! Obama seems to me like a little boy who is trying to where his dad's clothes, but he's just not big enough to fill them out.
"…the eyewitness whose 911 phone call brought him to the scene has publicly stated that he lied on the arrest report"
Lying is a serious charge. Please provide the source to back up your claim with regard to Ms. Whalen making a public statement stating Sgt. Crowley lied.
Crowley more than likely would have said, “Apology accepted.
Well then, how hard would it have been for Officer Crowley to have said " you know what professor Gates, I'm really sorry I behaved the way I did. Cambridge police officers are amongst the best in the world. We're trained to keep our cool and stay level headed in all situations. I realized instantly there was no threat, and after it became clear that you did indeed live in the house, I should've apologized and left right away. But I was tired and had a long day, and I let my frustrations out on you. I'm really sorry for that. All I can say is, I've learned once again how important it is to keep my cool, even when I'm having a tough day. Oh, and Mr. President, thank you for the kind invitation to the White House; the way you treated me and my family was very thoughtful and generous."
I'll bet Gates would've looked him in the eye and said "apology accepted".
Seriously.
How hard would that have been?
Obama is an elitist?
Really?
Why is that?
Can you back that up with anything other than your own opinion?
Didn't think so.
How about making an
Ass of himself and then saying it's a "teaching moment."
"Guns and religion" might be another.
Lipstick on a pig…
Getting the picture truth boy?
The Elitest, pumped up by the owned MSM:
How about making an
Ass of himself and then saying it's a "teaching moment."
How about saying Americans cling to "Guns and religion" might be another example
Lipstick on a pig…
Getting the picture ?
sean, you are pretending to be black arent you? why dont your grow up and get real, ya dig???
Have you ever thought cops act that way not because they're jerks but because they deal with jerks everyday they go to work. Also your white film student putting a hand on him in a friendly way. Please define how you could tell what is touching someone in friendly way? Remember to the cop showing up there he was on a call and any call can go from zero to fatal in less then 2 seconds. That cop reacted as he should have, he didn't know what you white students intentions were, that "friendly touch" could have progressed to reaching for his gun. To him it was about making it alive to the end of his shift and that trumps everything. Remember that next time your want to make judgements about your uncle and other police.
What Obama wanted, other than to cover for his boneheaded comments in the first place, was for Crowley to finally apologize for being a racist. Crowley, of course, is a stand-up guy and he's not going to let Obama force him into that apology, so Obama just gets the ridiculous Dog and Pony show. Then they get to have that "well, he's a racist, what can we do?" look on their faces, even though they never had a case for racism in the first place. This is what the leader of the free world is doing: Drinking beer with two people of no importance globally, to cover his own stupidity. Post Racial my arse.
He wanted him to come out to make sure he was alone for safety which included the cop and Gates, someone could have been in the house forcing Gates to tell him to go away. Gates is a Harvard professor so what? In today's colleges does that doesn't even mean anything when fools like him and Ward Churchall are handed those titles. Gee acting like a jerk maybe isn't a wise way to approach a problem, you city folk sure are stupid
Forget it. He just wants to make his smear and run. It's funny how liberals accuse everyone else of being biased but then ol'Harley here shows how well the liberal talking points have been installed.
Pretty hard, because no apology is needed from Crowley. On the other hand how hard would it have been for Gates to say you know I realized that I'm just as racist as the people I've been accusing of it all my life and in fact I've even used race to my advantage when it benefited me. This is an earth shattering moment for me from now on I will work on getting rid of my own racism before I accuse others of it. Oh President Obama you were wrong to let your own racism to trump your reason you are the President to all Americans.
How hard would that have been?
I never read or heard any report where the eyewitness stated that Sgt. Crawley LIED on the arrest report! She said that she didn't state what ethnicity the suspects were. The dispatcher only asked about the suspects race in order to let responding officers know what kind of person they were looking for. In most cases, in other jurisdictions around America, they would also ask what the suspect is wearing. Which is another valuable clue to track down the suspect if he is sighted on the nearby streets.
And how do I know all this? I listen to a police scanner almost every day.
Parents, let this be a lesson to you….DO NOT send your children to Harvard. Two Harvard grads, and…did Biden go to college? and Sgt Crowley. Your closing, Arone, says enough of the rest I wanted to write.
Oh, and if I were to do the hollywood thing, the pic of Crowley looks a bit like The Rock.
Sgt. Crowley you made us proud. You are the type of person who should be a role model for our children. Any arrogant Chicago thug can be President. But you sir are a great American!
Not only did Sgt Crowly demonstate outstanding charactor, Sgt Lashley and the Officer King also did. If we only could have Sgt Crowly and Sgt Lashley become Sen Crowley and Sen Lashley from Mass!
Gates/Crowley/Obama is pure MSM distraction.
Our Nation is being sold off piece at a time to international bankers,
the President may not be a natural born citizen,
our military families are on food stamps and routinely have their personal calls listened to by 3rd party contractors,
our States are going bankrupt,
our Constitutional civil liberties have become a thing of the past,
our borders are being overrun by criminals and a 3rd world population,
the U.S. dollar is on the verge of collapse,
DHS says we have a responsibility to spy on each other,
preemptive war is now moral & a national policy,
we have virtually no domestic manufacturing left – can't even make our own shoes & underwear,
global warming has become a religion,
we are spending millions for covert operations in Azerbaijan – and most Americans can't find it on the map,
foreign troops are doing "terror drills" on U.S. soil,
facial recognition data bases are being globally connected to foreign LE via state drivers' licenses and LNET & AAMVA,
mandatory vaccinations for H1N1 (with martial law) are being planned in the event of an "outbreak"….
and people still want to talk about this.
No wonder we're in trouble.
I know. However, as the author of this article, I was not going to let Harley's claim go unchallenged.
By not responding, he proves himself to be both a liar and a coward.
Crowley 2012
An interesting point in the pic… Gates is accepting the help from Crowley.
Crowley just makes me smile in the joy of one man doing more for truth than all the snobs put together.
[...] Gates: In the less than two minutes that we were out there, Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Sgt. Jim Crowley did almost all of the talking. It didn’t appear chummy, but then again Gates has said Crowley [...]
Another example of how you don’t back down from a liberal screed, and even though this guy voted for our Barry, the jackals on the left still scream …racism! Perhaps Officer Crowley will consider this situation before he votes next time? That being said he seems like a straight shooter and I’m glad it has worked out for him.
Biden as… president? Please don't even suggest that (it makes me twitch).
Stan,
Cue the video to about 1:55. Sgt. Crowley did not vote for Obama.

I humbly stand corrected, I like him even more!

2. Even though your dad was from Africa, and you went to private school in Hawaii, you abuse the affirmative-action system, which is meant to help disadvantaged people who grew up being discriminated against for generations in the US, to get into Harvard despite your relatively low IQ, where you then 'fit right in with the Marxist professors.
3. Never going to church until you become a community organizer, but joining one based on Socialist principles, when someone points out it will help your political ambitions.
4. Having Che Guevara posters on your campaign headquarters walls.
5. Going to a drive-thru for burgers and asking for Dijon mustard for your hamburger.
6. Henry Gates is your friend.
7. Your vacationing on Martha's Vineyard.
8. You can't throw a baseball to homeplate.
9. You Think the best way to relate to a working class white man is to get together and drink a beer.
10. You make Chris Matthew's leg tremble (which he better get looked at before you f*ck up the Helath care system).
