You sound like a rhetorical contender, EdSki. I had to laugh at your statement about problems with authority figures. I think I still have far too much you're-not-the-boss-o'-me t be in the general population. Wasn't it Socrates who proposed the argument that some people are naturally more accepting of personal enslavement? Have you also noticed that just about any time someone begins a statement with the words: Well, everybody knows that…" the thing they contend "everybody knows" is almost invariable something that no one in their right mind knows? If you're ever in the 'hood, let me know–we'll burn a stoge. I just had a Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real–not bad.

My epiphany came from a life time of issues with authority figures and a single class in philosophy I took for a comp sci degree at the local community college.

I don't remember if it was Aristotle or Socrates, but one of those ancient Greeks came up with a list of 26 or so debate arguments that are fallacies based purely on the structure of the argument itself, and having nothing to do with the subject matter at hand.

For example, when our Teleprompter in Chief starts a sentence with "Some people say…." He's already wrong. Since he refuses to state exactly who said it, there is no way to verify that person actually said it, ergo, he's wrong. That's called the straw man argument. Create a straw man, then proceed to to demolish the straw man, which doesn't actually exist.

Once I got done demolishing all my liberal friend's arguments, I turned it on myself, and I didn't fare too well myself. I either had to admit I was a hypocrite, or change my views to something I could defend.

And here I am.

My main epiphany came not long after reading The Communist Manifesto as part of a Political Science class.I was working on a Finance degree. I asked the professor, \”Why in the Helldo youwant usto read this, we're not Communist?! I was a little mad about the implication, as I saw it. His reply was: \”So that you'll know it when you see it coming\”. A year or two later I was watching network news and the report was about something the Demmunists were doing and I thought my God, they're here. My wife and I are hiding out on 20 acres of high chaparral in Eastern Arizona, now 'Nice hearing from you, EdSki.

With you 100% brother. I'm from upstate NY, raised in a union household, and was 100% sure I was absolutely right about everything and anything, and I pitted the person who disagreed with me.

Engineering school did wonders to beat that out of me. It's amazing when science can prove you are 100% wrong. Quite humbling.

And I am as mad as hell at what the current crop of democratic leaders have done to the party. They have disgraced it beyond recognition.

…researching issues and coming to their onwn conclusions? That's haaaarrrd! I nearly had a stroke when I heard the Hypnotist-in-Chief say what he said about the sheeple mentality. I'm 57 years old and grew up in Central IL where JFK was God and the Democrat party was his church. God help us if this worthless party continues to get away with fomenting the notion that party is more important than country.
