This is definitely true. It's also probably why (aside from paid protesters) it is much easier for the Left to "organize." They are of a collective mind. Over here, we believe in individualism…oh, yeah, and we're usually gainfully employed.
…and that's what is "scaring" them about the all the conservative protestors, their not used to conservatives actually taking time out from being productive citizens to go stand up to their government. The actually *feel* the tide turning against them.
Liberals/democrats/socialists are beyond tribalistic; they NEED to have "leaders" who will tell them how and what to think and which hand to use for which to wipe, hence are very easy to "organize". Anyone other than liberals tend to think what's best for themselves and for their families and are able to think accordingly. Libs on the other hand either cannot or will not think about the garbage that government is pushing upon them and therefore make excleng sheep. These "sheeple" whether they realize it or not, are the present day form of slaves, dependent on the govt instead of the plantation owners.
Liberal Democrats have taken corruption to a new high and taxpayers will be paying the bill for years. THE STIMULUS BILL, how are those jobs coming? THE ACORN SCANDAL, taxpayers supporting voter fraud! THE GLOBAL WARMING SCAM, fat Al and bogus scientists getting rich while you pay the tab!
And best of all, THE HEALTH CARE SCAM, citizens will pay taxes and public insurance costs for 4 years before receiving ANY benefits, during that time current Medicare and Medicaid benefits will be reduced to build up the kitty and put in the hands of HONEST OBAMA and our HONORABLE CONGRESS.
Now certainly we can trust HONEST OBAMA and our HONORABLE CONGRESS to hold that money in trust for us, right? Surely they will make good on their promises, right?

Very good point. The left have always organized their supporters better because left-wing voters are less-informed, more impressionable and more dependent on their leaders.
But with the tea party movement and co-opting some of the Alinsky Rules for Radicals tactics, regular hard-working, conservative, silent majority type of people are really creating a new political power base. And a legitimate grassroots movement.
P.S. This reminds me of a line Ann Coulter says about liberals. You can always tell what liberals are thinking because whatever they accuse you of, they are twice as guilty of it. I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist of it.

Another movie that comes to mind is "Midnight Express" when the mass of criminals are getting their exercise by mindlessly walking around a central pole or something and the main character turns around to walk in the opposite direction. The others try to stop him and turn him around and keep saying "you're going the wrong way!".
In order for the left to make a charge against the right, the thought has to occur to them first.
Why do they scream that Iraq was a war for oil? Because they would fight one just like it if they thought it would help them politically. Which is why congressional democrats voted for it.
They don't. They don't understand basic economics, or the concept of wealth generation. For them economics is a zero sum game, so in order to help their voters, they need to hurt some one else.

Engineering school did wonders to beat that out of me. It's amazing when science can prove you are 100% wrong. Quite humbling.

I don't remember if it was Aristotle or Socrates, but one of those ancient Greeks came up with a list of 26 or so debate arguments that are fallacies based purely on the structure of the argument itself, and having nothing to do with the subject matter at hand.
For example, when our Teleprompter in Chief starts a sentence with "Some people say…." He's already wrong. Since he refuses to state exactly who said it, there is no way to verify that person actually said it, ergo, he's wrong. That's called the straw man argument. Create a straw man, then proceed to to demolish the straw man, which doesn't actually exist.
Once I got done demolishing all my liberal friend's arguments, I turned it on myself, and I didn't fare too well myself. I either had to admit I was a hypocrite, or change my views to something I could defend.
You sound like a rhetorical contender, EdSki. I had to laugh at your statement about problems with authority figures. I think I still have far too much you're-not-the-boss-o'-me t be in the general population. Wasn't it Socrates who proposed the argument that some people are naturally more accepting of personal enslavement? Have you also noticed that just about any time someone begins a statement with the words: Well, everybody knows that…" the thing they contend "everybody knows" is almost invariable something that no one in their right mind knows? If you're ever in the 'hood, let me know–we'll burn a stoge. I just had a Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real–not bad.
Given how many competing factions there are under the "Big Tent", Mother of Dancers, it seems a miracle that they can pull together on anything but I guess destroying the country demands more unity than all the other crap they're about. Maybe we can scour the bowl at the mid-terms.
