Your Obama Apologist of the Day: Will Ferrell
by HollywoodlandWill Ferrell should still be apologizing for “Land of the Lost.”
Instead, he’s making excuses for President Barack Obama’s first term.
—–
The increasingly political “Saturday Night Live” alum is co-chairing a Feb. 15 fundraiser for the president’s re-election campaign. But you have to be a one percenter to afford the entrance fee – $35,800 each. Let’s hope that includes Ferrell wearing his cheerleader outfit for some high-energy kicks and jumps.
The bigger issue is getting Obama re-elected, and Ferrell argues the president’s case with a little fuzzy math.
Ferrell declared his support for the president a few months ago, saying he “most definitely” wants Obama to win another term. “Every president has a hard job but I think his is times ten,” he said.

I don't think anyone's being an "apologist" for Obama. He just sees how much worse off we'd be under Mitt or Newt–sorry, I didn't mean to giggle there–and made a logical decision. It's not that hard to understand.
Add head to your last name.
… Barry "57 States" Obumbler and Joe "Oops" Biden are international embarrassments….
…..and One-Term Failures……..Their clown act will be canceled on Nov 6th……
….Watch Barry bow to his teleprompter while Joe does Indian accents and giggle at that, troll…..
Hey Will, either stop fundraising for Obama or your website will just be Unfunny.com
1%ers for obama!
I agree with Mr. Ferrell that the President does have an extremely difficult job, which begs the question: Why does Obama spend so little time actually doing his job?
It gets in the way of his golf games or high priced vacations. Damn those jobs and responsibilities! It was so much easier to be a state senator or lecturer. You never had to produce anything of value.
he is not an apoligist for the day, he has been doing it ever since teh won took office.
If we reelect obama maybe we can get to 25% unemployment! Those racist Republicans keep getting in the way with their crazy ideas of lower taxes, energy independence and a responsible federal govt. What insanity! No jobs means no global warming!
Vote obama so there are no jobs and no economic prosperity!
Exactly. Surely it's more fun to just coast through as a Senator like Obama or Kerry…
Hmmm, a "hard job times ten." Tell us, Professor Ferrell, exactly how hard is that?
No fair using fingers or toes.
I can't help but notice that my paychecks after Jan 1 are just a little less than they were in December. So much for my taxes not going up.
Our arugula and sauteed snail eating dictator has set a new record: 48 million Americans on food stamps. What can't he do??
Vote for breadlines, vote obama!
It's Tommy Blockhead, whose like every other self-absorbed leftist but I think he's like times ten as self-absorbed, like he's the big-fat roll of three-ply Bounty Towel of self-absorbed leftist, man!
It's not that hard to understand. Now suck it up, man!
You're not very grateful for King Obama GIVING you $40.00 extra in your paycheck/month for 2 months. Then taxing it as income.
>Watch Barry bow to his teleprompter
C'mon now, be honest. Anyone with eyes who saw the debates with McCain could see that Obama is a poised speaker who doesn't have any problems thinking on his feet. That's as opposed to, say, Dubya or Palin, who can't even speak in complete sentences, and who pretend that their sixth-grade vocabulary is the same thing as "plain speaking". (I'm guessing a seventh grade vocabulary is considered "elitist".)
See, this is how crazy having a black Democrat president has made you. You can hate him all you want, but at least hate him for his genuine faults. This whole idea that EVERY SINGLE THING about the guy (or anyone on the face of the earth) is automatically immoral, dishonest, or what-have-you…well, it just makes it impossible to take your arguments seriously. You're not really thinking; you're just freaking out. And how's that going to help anything?
Will Ferrell is not very funny. Many unfunny people trying to make a living at it wind up being mean spirited pundits instead. Maybe he's going to be the next Bill Maher, Rosie, Joy, Whoopie, etc….
WHO CARES what a liberal script reader thinks or says?
www dot theantiliberalzone dot com
You are a tough cookie… I can't even stand going to liberal websites and plugging away my agenda.
Let us define apologist: (From Dictionary.com, FYI)
a·pol·o·gist [uh-pol-uh-jist]
noun
1.
a person who makes a defense in speech or writing of a belief, idea, etc.
…so you are saying that Ferrell isn't defending Obama?
"Ferrell declared his support for the president a few months ago, saying he “most definitely” wants Obama to win another term. “Every president has a hard job but I think his is times ten,” he said."
So the above isn't him defending the president? Just because a person is an apologist for someone doesn't make that person wrong. In this case he is, but that isn't necessarily the case. Being apologist is just defending a person or a point of view. So yes, contrary to what you think, he is being an apologist. And you are being one as well.
Wow, With people like Will "the idiot" Ferrell on your side, how can a guy lose. (sarcasm off)
I wonder if this idiot realizes that he's deep-sixing what's left of his career.
"Will Ferrell should still be apologizing for “Land of the Lost.”"
I should live long enough for him to apologize as much as he should for that!
I wonder what the quincentennial will be like?
Hey, it drives me nuts when the liberals pretend to be perfect, too.
I've often wondered if he is really as stupid as the characters he plays. The answer is yes, he is.
$35,800? For a plate of cheap chicken and warmed-over Obama platitudes? There are people who don't make that much IN A YEAR! Yet we have people in Hoolyweird and trolls right here defending this stench.
He is a poised speaker. This makes him a better actor than president.
He can deliver a line well. He has a hard time with the content and the execution.
He does other things actors excell at:
He takes very nice, pricey vacations
He plays alot of golf
He pats himself on the back exceedingly well.
Conclusion, he should be an actor and leave governing to someone qualified.
well, are you saying bush is stupid? he does have a degree from harvard, same as obozo does, he even has one from yale. did i forget to mention he flew one of the hardest jets to master, even if it was only for the guard. and bush knew how many states we have, and he never bowed to anybody! i also hear his social security card does not fail e-verify either!
"I don't think anyone's being an "apologist" for Obama. "
He wrote think when what he really meant was feel. It's a distinction commonly lost on the left.
When you're feeling things, you don't need to even to comprehend what's being said.
Will Ferrell is a DB anyway. Perhaps if I could make it thru more than 5 minutes of one of his movies I would give a crap what he says, but I can't so I don't
I watch that SNL clip from back in the day, and reminisce about how hysterical comics were, before they stopped caring whether or not they alienated half their audience. That cheerleader bit is so perfectly executed, but I can't admire him any longer. He's a dunce, not an independent thinker.
I Get ya, but if you are going to say something isn't right at least know what it means first
Was he wearing that outfit when he did his "casting couch"?
"See, this is how crazy having a black Democrat president has made you"
Playing the race card Blockhead? Credibility gone forever.
>are you saying bush is stupid?
Let's just say he isn't Einstein. I mean, it's clear that conservatives seized on the teleprompter episode to get even after four years of people laughing at Bush's humble efforts to communicate with his fellow man. But the teleprompter snafu? It happened ONCE. And that "57 states" thing? It happened ONCE. But with Bush, it's like an Indiana Jones adventure every time he opens his mouth.
Oh yes, because Obama's race has nothing to do with the right's reaction to him. NOTHING WHATSOEVER.
<insert Mother of All Eye-Rolls here>
well, bush never suggested we speak austrian, did he? do austrians speak austrian? bush never lit every candle on the minorah on the first day. george bush doesn't throw out the first pitch like a girl. george bush never had to fly two planes for every vacation, one for him, and one for his wife. i don't even think bush flew his dog back from vacation, only to use barney as a prop. george bush didn't need a teleprompter to talk to first graders in school. george bush didn't terrorize nyc, in order to take a photo of air force one. can i keep going, or is that enough for you to get the idea, obama is the dumbest person in every room he is in.
i stand corrected, he is not the dumbest person in any room you are in, then he is tied for dumbest.
The left is racist. And anti-semitic. At least in my experiences in dealing with them. KKK was demo, don't ya know. Read Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg and learn all the fun facts regarding the history of the Democrat Party and the Progressive movement. Might make you throw up.
Oh, please, Obama has provided a wealth of comedy material…go to YouTube and see for yourself.
'fuzzy math' is a kind way of putting it. A look at the numbers shows that Obama may have progressed over to the dark side … http://bit.ly/qVdDUt
"Oh yes, because Obama's race has nothing to do with the right's reaction to him. NOTHING WHATSOEVER."
Are you trying to say that if Obama was white that we conservatives would be loving everything he's doing to bring this country down? Wow, I never looked at it like that before.
Yeah….not playing your dumb game. You want to reduce all of ourcriticisms of his policies down to race without any shred of proof.Get a life you little weasel.
Wow, Obama went from "The Messiah" to "At Least He's Better than Newt" in 3 short years.
2008: "I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals."
2012: "It Could Be Worse!"
Nope. It was a band-aid solution. Nothing but trying to make people think that you're trying to fix stuff. Like raising the minimum wage.
"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong." – Barack Obama, thinkin' on his feet
That's true, a lot of Klanners *were* Dems before the 1960s. And then LBJ pushed the Civil Rights Act through Congress, and guess where they all went? And guess which party greeted them with open arms? And guess which party has done its level-best to keep them in the fold ever since? As LBJ said at the time, "I've lost us the South for 50 years." And he was right.
The comment threads at Big Hollywood aren't too bad on that count, and I give y'all credit for it. But you're the exception. Most of the rightwing sites are dripping with racism. Sometimes at LGF Charles Johnson posts collections of the racist stuff he's seen at other sites, and it's always–and I do mean *always*–from a rightwing site. It's bad enough that white Americans are still comparing black people to monkeys in the year 2012, but it's just as shameful that the bystanders just sit there and let it happen. How people like that can look into their children's faces without feeling shame all over is beyond me.
The point is, Bush never claimed to be a great speaker. Obama is supposed to be Socrates, yet he needs a teleprompter to order breakfast.
And even then he screws it up.
What color was Bill Clinton? Because I seem to recall the right not liking him, either.
one million less jobs. Higher gas and food prices. A 150% rise in food stamp recipients. A foreign policy that rewards our enemies and punishes our friends (and don't start with bin Laden, Obama had no choice but to act or face impeachent). $6B plus lost in failed Green energy companies that are only green to his crony friends and all red to the taxpayers. Billions for Brazilian and Middle East oil, not a penny for America's. $26B to date lost on GM to prop up the unions that led it to bankruptcy in the first place. And all that's just for starters.
Notice, Tom Blockhead, that I make no mention of race or political party nor do I care. A failed president is a failed president, an apologist is an apologist, and Will Ferrell is a left wing Obama apologist like most everyone else in Hollywood. Fact is, I lived to see Obama White aka Jemmah Cahtah fail the same way, and Obama will likewise be one-and-done president. He has lost the American center which decides national elections, and that spells D-O-O-M in November. The only race issue here is that we now know a black president can be just as politicized, polarizing, inept, incompetent, stupid-acting and corrupt as a white one. Skin color got nothin' to do with it. That is all.
Nah, I was around when Jimmah was prez. Pretty much hated him the same. And Jimbo was white as the sheets he wore.
That's true, Dale, a lot of Klanners *were* Dems before the 1960s. And then LBJ pushed the Civil Rights Act through Congress, and guess where they all went? And guess which party greeted them with open arms? And guess which party has done its level-best to keep them in the fold ever since? As LBJ said at the time, "I've lost us the South for 50 years." And he was right.
You want to see which side is more racist? Go read the comment threads at, say, Huffington and Atlas Shrugged. If you find five racist posts or articles at Huffington I'd be surprised, but Gellar's site is home to nothing but hate groups. For white Americans to still be comparing black people to apes in 2012 is bad enough, but there's even more people who see it and don't say anything. How they can look at their kids without dying of shame is beyond me.
Jonah Goldberg's both an ass a lousy historian. He's not even worth fighting about.
"The right"
That's quite a wide swath of humanity you just painted there. You can find bigoted, mind-numbed haters here and there amongst both the "right" and the "left" and the "middle" and the…etc., so I'm not sure what your point is there. All I know is, my negative reaction to our present Golfer-in-Chief has EVERYTHING to do with his policies (or lack thereof) and NOTHING whatsoever to do with his race. And I personally don't know anyone on the right who gives a rip about what his race is. What the crapola does anyone's race have to do with anything?! It seems the only ones that perpetually keep bringing up this subject is people like you. I think what you're dealing with here is what is known as "projection." Look it up.
I think Farrell should apologize for every movie in which he has been the main focus, not just Land of the Lost. Although he should crawl on all fours to beg for forgiveness for that piece of garbage.
Remember that movie where Ferrell took off his clothes and we saw his bare a$$? Ha! Now that was funny.
Obviously Ferrel doesnt know anything about politics. Anybody who understands whats going on, wouldn't dare vote for a democrat or republican, except Ron Paul.
I don't think every single thing Obama does is bad…
…he does a good Al Green cover. He should stick to it.
The Liberal attitude of the entertainment industry lies in the "guilt" of the "nouveau" rich.
Most of the stars worked menial jobs or played low paying gigs until they were "discovered" and found enourmous wealth. They are similar to lottery winners who do not know how to handle their new found wealth, and usually have feelings of being undeserving of there fortune.
They feel it unfair that they have suddenly become wealthy and that so many others who are struggling just as they had been are so poor. So, to alleviate their own guilt, they publicly and politically profess to support those struggling economically.
They should have the courage of their convictions and lead by example.
"a poised speaker who doesn't have any problems thinking on his feet"
Good Lord Tom – are you insane? Have you ever seen the video of Omama when his teleprompter DID fail. Here's a little clip below if you have the open mind (and integrity) to click on it. And this video is one of many Omama flubs that I found. The
manPuppet is having his strings pulled by an electronic mouthpiece and you post crap like you did above. Amazing!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omHUsRTYFAU
As far as Will Ferrell, he's about as funny as a man with a broken leg at an ass-kicking contest.
Add his name to my "no watch and no buy" list. Just another example of the west coast lunacy.
Probably because a great many of the liberal sites tend to ban and delete posters who disagree with them. They're famous for that Ron.
Roll your eyes and pop your neck while you're at it. I am sure some people don't like President Obama because he is black. I am also sure that some misguided white people voted for him out of some misplaced feeling of guilt for something their ancestors PROBABLY didn't do more than 100 years ago. I am also sure that some of the black people who hate President Bush do so simply because he is white. I don't like President Obama's policies or the disasterous road he is taking us down. That's why I won't vote for him.
You forget that Bubba was the "first black president".
Ummm….Will? F__k off….
Anyone over twelve knows that Ferrell is not funny. Each time he opens his mouth he proves that he's not intellgent.
Oh yes, because Obama's race has nothing to do with the right's reaction to him. NOTHING WHATSOEVER.
His race seems incredibly significant to you for some odd reason.
Ok Tom review your history LBJ passed the civil rights bill RIGHT!!!! but with the help of the Republicans not the democrats who tried to block it get your facts straight….they sure didnt go republican if they opposed the civil rights bill…..come on answer….lets here it…im not a racist I just dont agree with his policies…is that now called racism…it was really easy to debate MCcain he had no record at the time just hope and change….I know your whole everyone is freaking out tactic too thats your way of acting smug like all people against Obama are reactionaries….dont work with me pal…ease up on old george too as much as you guys wont admit it before the housing bubble (FREDDY FANNY AND BARNEY FRANK) burst the economy was fine…hell bush tried to reign fanny and freddy in (look that up see Barney Frank claim nothing is wrong with Freddy and Fanny)
“Every president has a hard job but I think his is times ten,” he said.
Couldn't agree more, Will. Because the man is manifestly unqualified.
I'll take '57 States' over elipssis OCD every day. good thing your'e not his speech writer. good thing your a big nothing.
It's enough they let you vote and comment.
"Watch Barry bow to his teleprompter while Joe does Indian accents and giggle at that, troll….."
god save us and take you asap.
Apologist? It's beyond that- these Hollywood types are in to 'fluffer' territory with Obama
Ron Paul would be a better President than Barack Obama, and he's not even sane. Seriously, if you can't admit that the Obama presidency has been an unmitigated disaster then you are so deeply in denial it will take you years to get out. We haven't had a three-year recession since Jimmy Carter was in office.
Given the things he wants to do I am glad he does not spend more time doing his job.
I would be willing to bet George W. Bush is smarter than YOU. I am unaware of any standard intelligence tests that have public speaking or eloquence as a component.
By your standard, Ronald Reagan was the smartest President ever, and I'm pretty sure you're not willing to concede that.
Worse off? What a effin joke!!
You can have him jackass.
And you are thinking by calling Bush and Palin stupid? Back under your rock moron.
Apparently Farrell's life is imitating his art (being stupid and non-funny), just like Charlie Sheen's art was imitating his life. Only Charlie Sheen was funny.
Farrell should apologize for breathing.
He's probably clueless enough to not understand why people are staying away from his movies in droves.
Hear, hear!
"Will Ferrell should still be apologizing for “Land of the Lost.”"
He should get down on his knees and beg truly sincere forgiveness for the way he introduced Sid and Marty Kroft at the TV Land Awards. Jerk.
Totally slipped my mind. Thanks for the reminder!
I never ever thought Ferrell was funny, ever. And I'll let it go at that.
Nice revisionist history blockhead. The first civil rights bill was proposed and written by Eisenhower and Republicans in 1957, it was killed in committed by then Senate Majority leader LBJ. The same guy who took credit for it's passage, with the help of the majority of Republicans, in 1964. The other lie is that since it's passage, southern democrats punished the republican party by what, joining the republican party? Not one of those Southern Democrats who voted against the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts of 1964 switched parties. Not, one. The rest of your post I can't respond too, because it's just plain kooky talk.
Dang right!
When do we get to see Ødumbø's grades? FromColumbia? From hahvahd Law. We've seen W's (and Gore's and J eff'n kerry's).
When, Tom, WHEN?? Is there something bad there?
Bleep you AND your eye roll!!!!!!!
he meant to say "hand" instead of "hard"… he's still tingling like Matthews.
the only voting bloc in this country (with a few small exceptions) that based their voting decision about BO based on him being black, were those who are black (excluding conservitive ones).
Of course he sees dead people… so many of them voted for him.
no, he was wearing hers…
He probably thinks he's SAVING his career.
LBJ is also the guy who s aid let me pass my "Great Society" programs and "I'll have those ni**ers voting democrat for the next 200 years".
