Did you ever hear Jimmy Carter sound like a war hawk? Neither had we. Until we saw Patrol Base Jaker. Seriously, check out the trailer and you won’t believe your ears. And this is no Michael Moore hatchet job either…piecing together sound bytes to create some sort of Franken-statement. It’s all authentic Jimmy.
But aside from the shockingly pro-military statements from Carter (and Obama, by the way) what we really loved about PBJ is the fact that it documents a tremendous US military success story in Afghanistan…the kind you’ll never find in the pages of the New York Times or on any of the so-called “mainstream” news networks.
For an independent film financed by friends and family, the production value is truly amazing: exceptional cinematography, excellent pacing, and a great score – including an original song by OAR created just for this film. The film begins with an engaging historical dramatization, an effective technique not often used with success in documentaries. Directed by David Scantling (one of the producers of Brothers at War, which earned the GI Film Festival’s “Best Feature Documentary” award in 2008), PBJ is an overall great film.
This film will premiere Friday, 14 May at 6:30 pm in Washington DC at the GI Film Festival. The evening’s programming will also include the world premiere of Starting Strong, a new reality show created, produced and narrated by award-winning actor Ricky Schroder for the US Army.
Starting Strong is a high-adrenaline new television show. The show provides a real potential Army recruit with an up close and personal Army experience in the field of his choice. The candidate is then asked to make a life-changing decision — to either join the Army or remain a civilian.
Tickets for this event are $40 and include a VIP reception following the films with directors David Scantling and Ricky Schroder. If you can’t attend the screening, please consider sending a soldier in your place.
The GI Film Festival, founded in 2007 by husband and wife team Brandon and Laura Millett, is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization whose mission is to honor the men and women in uniform.

There is exactly ZERO times a Marine has EVER helped Americans – they are a threat to our freedoms, that is about it. They weren't even formed when the real fight was going on for our freedoms which was won by MILITIA – not government thugs in uniform. You better get that through your skull. And when TSHTF those in the military that are wise will be abandoning their uniforms and their units and those who don't will just be helping supply the real patriots with ammo.

Except the Continental Marines were formed by the Continental Congress on November 10,1775.

I thought Ricky Schroder went by "Rick" now. Gosh, I used to have a huge crush on him back when we were both kids; I even had his picture on my wall. Glad to know he's making good use of his time honoring our country and our troops with productions like this one. I always did have good taste in guys. :>)
Carter was just talk, and not very good at that either.
I remember back to embassy seizure. When it first happened, the Iran government was scanning the skies, expecting to be blown back to the stone age at any moment.
I'm not saying bombing or not bombing was the correct action, but if you ask me, that's the point where it all started. When they got away with it.
I kept telling you that President Obama was not some wimpy Carter-esque liberal hack. I was convinced when he sent out our troops to kill those Somali pirates last summer. Not negotiate or even interrogate, but just plain simply kill the bad guys. In addition to that, he has upped the ante in Afghanistan by increasing our troop presence there. That's because it's the right thing to do. It can't be any simpler than that, and because of that, I am convinced that President Obama is not intending on letting America go down the drain, that he is as much a war-hawk as President Bush was. All you had to do was listen to his speeches and he laid out exactly what he's been doing. That is why I believe he, just like President Bush, will go down in history as near-great presidents because they had to do what they viewed was the right thing in protecting us from the radical Islamo-Nazi threat. If that won't convince you that President Obama is not a secret Muslim, I don't know what will.

C'mon dude, Obama isn't doing any of that on his own, he has to do it. He's not "all in" with Afghanistan as you suggest, he dragged his feet on the issue for months…and then finally approved 3/4 of the troop level recommendations. He'd rather play politics and appease the gay voters with a repeal of DADT, then actually listen to recommendation of ground-level commanders.
