Festival launches “Brothers” and More
by G.I. Film FestivalThe buzz is getting out regarding Jake Rademacher’s “Brothers at War.” It’s a great film with a good heart that shows the patriotic values of a true American family. Brothers held it’s world premiere screening in May of last year at the 2008 GI Film Festival where it won Best Feature Documentary, and this month it hits theaters nationwide. Brothers is one of many great pro-soldier, patriotic films that screen at the GI Film Festival — the first and only film festival in the nation which honors men and women in uniform.
The 2009 GI Film Festival, to held in Washington, DC 13-17 May 2009, has a fantastic line-up.
Over the next few months, we are going to share with you some trailers and reviews from many more great films that will debut in May at the festival. Among the line-up is a world premiere screening of a feature documentary titled, “Perfect Valor.” Perfect Valor is an intense, compelling feature documentary that follows heroes of Iraq on and off the battle field. We learn who they are, what they have to sacrifice, and why they serve. The film is masterfully narrated by Senator Fred Dalton Thompson.
Trailers, reviews, and filmmakers’ bios are all coming soon. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to future posts on this.
It is a very good movie. I saw it and I believe it is by far the most accurate portrayal of our soldiers in Iraq. It was also completely passed up by all the big Hollywood players, I guess because it doesn't show our soldiers as murderers and rapists and instead shows them as human beings.
I am the author of "Marines in the Garden of Eden" and "New Dawn – the fight to free Fallujah." I am the historical consultant to "Perfect Valor" and the film is based on several of the stories from "New Dawn." Perfect Valor is a tribute to all the men and women who have fought in Iraq and their families who have stoically waited for their loved ones to return. It is a film that every American needs to see. It will touch your soul.
I am honored to be a part of one of the films that will be premiered. Last July I was introduced to Movie Producer, David Taylor, who was filming a documentary on Fallujah, Iraq. He wanted to include my story in the film titled "Perfect Valor". My wife Lindsey and I were interviewed over the course of a couple of days. One of the big highlights that will be included in the film is James River's 4th of July, "I Love America" celebration, very patriotic. I am excited to see the finished product. Special thanks to all who were involved in making this film as well as the others that will be in this year's GI Festival. Pray for our Men and Women in harms way.
