by Greg GutfeldSo apparently a Michigan defense contractor has pissed off Muslim groups, by inscribing coded Biblical references on rifles it sells to the American military. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations claims these religious references send a “negative message” to the Muslim world.
To quote Dolly Parton, here we go again. Groups like CAIR rarely have their priorities in place -they’re always “reacting angrily” to perceived slights or hypothetical backlashes – when they really should be reacting angrily to those who commit atrocities in the name of Islam.
But you know who really gets my gopher? Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. He says the gun sights not only give our enemies a propaganda tool, but adds, “I don’t have to wonder … how the American public would react if citations from the Koran were being inscribed onto these U.S. armed forces gun sights instead.”
Now, I believe Weinstein has lost more marbles than a blind man playing Kerplunk. Whether or not Bible references should be on rifles is a decent debate, but they will never lead to extremist-driven violence. Terrorists, however, always champion their radical Islamic code – and the Ft. Hood shooter more than connected that dot before slaughtering innocent Americans. But even the most radical Christians don’t fly planes into buildings.
But look, American soldiers usually shoot terrorists well before they get close enough to see these Bible references, anyway.
That alone should prevent hurt feelings.

This company has been doing this for over 30 years without offending CAIR (Crying -Assed !slamist Radicals).
Personally this story makes me want to buy stock in the company, and some new scopes for my hunting rifles…

Might give comfort to those who may give their lives or take a life. Their OUR rifle scopes.

Yeah it is wrong to write a Bible verse on a gun sight but apparently they have no problem with someone yelling "God is Great" before blowing up a school bus full of kids or cutting off your head on Al Jezerra.

Yes, I'm sure that inscription is making the people at CAIR "outraged". I want to know what inscriptions are found on IEDs in Iraq & Afghanistan. I want to be sure there are not any anti-Christian messages on them. That is not any less ridiculous. Because we actually have an economy and can actually mass produce our own weapons, rather than using second hand weapons from Russia and China, we can put any damn thing we want on them.
if a muslim extremeist can see the serial number on your rifle, you either forgot to pull the trigger, or you might be dead. this company made their own serial numbering system, and they didn't actually mention religion, they just put obscure references, what is the problem with that?

There are thousands of Muslims that are in the Army. In fact, plenty of my friends are Muslims in various branches of the military. Out of those thousands a few shouldn't have been there in the first place. Who's to blame? The Army had suspicions that these guys had extremist views.

My family are all veterans of this country. I am preparing to into the U.S. Border Patrol to PROactively stop criminals, terrorists, and their weapons. I am not going anywhere because I LOVE my country (U.S.A.) and would do anything to defend the PEOPLE and uphold the constitution of the U.S.A.

Its the biggest non issue going, I have one of there 3x-9x on a 338 Winchester Mag. They make very good sights. As for verse numbers from the bible, well they do that since the founder founded the company. Not a deal breaker. Personally I would not have a problem with a Black and White Standard flown with the nations colors in the combat zones. This whole story is foolish, what is to stop a bullet maker from stamping a cross on bullets before he loads them into cartridges? Nothing other that it takes time and money to do. They can talk all they want but we are in a Religious War, at least the enemy is, so what is the problem?

I've put over 500 rounds though my favorite AR at the range and got only 2 misfires. (Failure to eject). True, it fires a little "dirty" but you have to clean your piece in any case. (which I like to do anyways). Good cheap ammo ($6.50 for a box of 20 rounds as compared to over $15/20 for US brass), and it hits within 3 inches at 100 yards. (Good enough for zombie head shots I'd say).
My only regret is my US $ goes to Putin and his gang of thugs. However, I get some inexpensive training under my belt.

I have to admit that I care more about the water levels in western Brazil then I do about encoded biblical references on weapons….and I do not care about Brazil…I even root against their soccer team.
This almost reminds me of one of my tours in Iraq, when we captured a man of Arabic descent…muslim extremist? jihadist? innocent bystander? I don't know….but I know that he had a tattoo on his arm of the World Trade Center burning. Needless to say, it kind of got us Marines a little p.o'd. If he just would have been smart and got it tattooed on his *ss, we never would have seen it…but he wanted people to see it.
These inscriptions are small and minute for a reason….it wasn't intended to be a big deal. If Muslim's are upset about this….that's fine, that is their right. But what is good for the goose is good for the gander…..whatever that means.

I happen to have the same model ACOG as pictured on my AR (a TA101NSN). Now in addition to being the best glass I've ever put on a rifle, I can revel in the fact that my scope is pissing off liberals AND Muslims.
One possible positive to this stupidity is that there is a chance that there will be a glut of shiny new verse marked ACOGs on the market thus driving the prices down (these things are pretty doggone expensive).
If a rifle/scope was picked up by one of these murdering "freedom fighters" do you think they would use it against one of our troops?
Maybe not the scope because it would be "tainted" in some way. (Like dogs or ham sandwiches).

CAIR will never offer anything but the most meaningless and impotent remonstrations of Islamic terrorism for a very simple reason: They are but a "soft power" political arm of the jihad whose purpose it is to lull gullible Americans into complacency.
There are no Bible Verses on the Scope. Part of the Model Number or Serial Number uses Numbers and Letters that can be used to look up Bible Verses. The Owner, who is now passed away, was a very Religous Man and had incorperated these Numbers and Letters for years. If you knew what to look for it would be obvious but if not it looks like any other Model/Serial Number. Many Companies have built in so-called secret codes built into Model/Serial Numbers that have nothing to do with the product, it is nothing unusual.

In-N-Out Burger has been printing Bible references on their food and drink containers for more than a decade, and nobody's complaining about that. This is a private company exercising their right to free speech and freedom of religion. If the military has an overwhelming problem with it, such as the majority of soldiers are complaining about it, they're free to go with another manufacturer. But it should also be pointed out that the soldiers in question have to see the reference, go hunt down a Bible, look up the correct verses, and then read them in order to be offended by the message. Otherwise, it's just a series of meaningless letters and numbers.
Perhaps they should instead quote from the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Pirates. Like:

As a former infantryman, I can tell you that these sights are awesome. Hands down the best weapon sight I've used for the majority of the work we do in a combat zone. I don't care if they say "Hail Satan" on the side (actually, that would make them even more awesome).
I use Swarovski scopes on my ought six, ought eight, seven muslim munchers, and 223's.

I like that ammo, with the berdan primers. It is a good buy, and is hot, and accurate.
We might need to compare notes though. I must have got a real good batch. I am able to group it within 2 inches, at 300 yards.

If I understand their beliefs correctly, the entire purpose of the Left is to criticize and agitate. That is, they see themselves as profoundly moral – as the conscience of the nation, in fact. If somebody does something immoral or illegal or unfair, the Left takes it upon themselves to howl about it. The fact that they equate socialism with morality and fairness is sort of an historical accident. Before labor movements and socialism really took off, I think the "conscience of the nation" role was normally played by activist, reforming Christians (in Europe and America, at least). Now it's secular socialists chiding us about our sins. (See James Cameron, Avatar…) In their view, it's their constant, vocal outrage that keeps us from descending into mere dog-eat-dog barbarity.
I have lots of questions about this arrangement, starting with skepticism about self-appointed moral authorities telling me how I should live…
