Daily Gut: Blotting Out the Fort Hood Dots
by Greg GutfeldSo while Republicans rejoiced over a huge victory in Massachusetts, a far bigger win took place at the Pentagon. The winner, sadly, was political correctness – that infectious mist of brainlessness that turns normal men into Jell-O. A bastard child of identity politics and the self-esteem movement, political correctness is an ideology based on avoidance of hurt feelings – and its ability to render humans into thoughtless automatons makes “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” look like “Mamma Mia.”

I am speaking of the Fort Hood Report, which the U.S. military’s just released, detailing the shooting that left 13 dead. In the 86 page thingy, here’s what you won’t find: the name of the killer, or his Muslim faith. The dudes who did the review argue that those pieces of information aren’t important – their concern is more with “actions and effects, not…with motivations.”
Here in Sanity Village, we call this “super duper crazy talk.”
Cuz, you know, if there’s one thing I learned from Obama the candidate – is how important root causes are. You remember: before calling someone evil, you need to first understand their motivations.
True, root causes are troubling, because it’s applied only when Obama and others feel comfortable with its conclusions. If the killer was a fundamentalist Christian, his right wing rage would be hammered home. Janet Napolitano created an entire report on such matters. That was quaint.
But in Hassan’s case, pointing out motives only hurts feelings. Citing Islamic extremism as a culprit will simply upset more Muslims, so the P.C. thing to do is to leave it out. It’s one of those “dots” we keep hearing about – but instead of “connecting,” we’re just covering it up with Liquid Paper.
They still make that crap, right?

Will they ever learn?
On one hand the Army, now, take all his supervisors to task for not holding him to account for being an awful solider. Yet on the other they don't mention that had any of these same supervisors said what they really thought of this animal based on their actual evaluations their careers would've been torpedoed by the PC police. How can you not mention he was by his own admissions a Muslim jihadist, nor that he had contact with a know Al Qaeda imam who had fled the US for Yemen? The intentional dishonesty is appalling.
Either we have to be honest about who the enemy is, or the wars as currently being "fought" are a disgraceful waste of our best and brightest. This leadership in both the executive branch and the military cannot be trusted with a coffee order, much less this.
This is what happens when politically correct lawyers are put in charge of a "fact-finding" process, facts being a foreign concept to these moronic sellouts ………………………. Hanzo
So, does the report actually mention the killings, or was that information omitted too?
Wish I could say I was surprised. This is exactly the kind of thing I expected out of the Obama administration. So I guess, for once, they haven't disappointed me.
Doesn't surprise me. PC was alive and well during the seventies and eighties when I was on active duty, so the current crop of military leadership have been cultivated in that environment their entire careers. Unfortunately, it will take more than one tragic event to erase 40yrs of PC conditioning within the military culture………
A bastard child of identity politics and the self-esteem movement,
Who are we talking about here? (blinks innocently)
political correctness is an ideology based on avoidance of hurt feelings – and its ability to render humans into thoughtless automatons makes “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” look like “Mamma Mia.
Although the Broadway music score was great, I'm still paralyzed from "Mamma Mia". Much more than my feelings were hurt. Some things just should not have to be endured.
Bugg is on the right track. Even though PC played an important part of Fort Hood, it goes deeper than that. It shares the same root as the mortgage industry debacle: out-of-control careerism.
The people who had the authority to prevent the tragedy placed their CAREERS above what they knew was the right thing to do. If not for this fact, PC alone would not have been enough. They had to place their careers and their next promotion above everything else. The same with the heads of the mortgage and banking firms – they did what they "had to do" in order to further their careers.
And I guarantee that if they were here to defend themselves, they would say this: "I didn't do it for me. I did it for my family. I did it for my children."
Hmm … maybe the liberal mentality (sarc) mixed up the "P" word . I think maybe we should actually explain that Politically Correct is not the same as Persona non grata.

Rumsfeld (ages ago) respond to a question about another case involving a Muslim radical, basically asking if his religion had anything to do with it.
His response was "That's not a productive line of questioning" my response was "Oh crap" I could understand the strategy, I just thought it would lead to something far worse than what they were trying to avoid, which is basically an artificial blind spot in our ability for early detection.
I admit that I was expecting an incident long before this, but the white wash they are doing won't help anyone, not even Obama in the long run because the average American is going to lose even more trust in the government.
Whenever I hear about one of these PC blunders involving the military I go and get a dose of Paul Howe's "Monthly perspective" (Black Hawk Down, Delta etc.)

MUSLIM JIHADIST TERRORISTS………
KILL THEM UNTIL THEY QUIT………….
IF WE HAVE TO KILL ALL OF THEM……….
SO BE IT.
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Covered with flowers every one
We will kill them until they DIE from it!
(Sorry, channeling 'Saddam Hussein' from Hot Shots Part Dieux…)
"their concern is more with “actions and effects, not…with motivations.” Hold on a minute-isn't motivations the whole logic behind "hate crime" legislation? The idea was that injuring or killing someone is somehow worse if the motivation was racial or homophobic, rather than just simply, "Hey I want your money so I'll just kill you to get it."
This is a byproduct of liberal rot. There must be a complete purging of the leftwing traitors in govt.
Just to be contrarian – I think this report was not supposed to be about Hasan and his specific outrage. It wasn't THE comprehensive account of the incident. That probably won't appear until after Hasan's trial (and, I assume, his conviction and, preferably, his execution).
I think the report was supposed to answer the question "How could the Army have let this happen?" I haven't read the report itself. I'd be interested in knowing whether it identifies a PC attitude on the part of Hasan's superiors as a contributing factor. Of course, it wouldn't say "PC attitude" – that would be too direct and…un-PC.
What's all this talk of dots? Hasan was Muslim, not Hindu.
Okay, now I'm banned.
simple thought experiment,
suppose he had walked onto a mosque, guns blazing, and singing the team america world police theme song. would the media and pentagon be scratching it's head as to motive then?
Britain took care of Islam in India… they were trial, jury, & executioner upon any Imam rousing terror. Back when Britain occupied India. And force fed democracy to the Muslims & Hindus.
Dont blame Islam!!! Or they might cut your head off! Duh!
Who does this make feel better? Our enemies, that's who!
You'd be wasting cigarettes………………………….just tell them to stick their thumb in their mouth.
Line them 3 deep against the wall too……………save on some bullets.
Just put a dot on all their foreheads………………………….and then connect the dots with a high powered rifle slug.
What BS. This PC crap has got to end, people were murdered on a military base…wake up.
This report is a TURD…um, I mean a "man caused disaster".
Failure of leadership Barry.
I've heard that the whole report was very non-controversial….it omitted all names, places, things and words. The end result is 86 pages of white paper that has nothing written on them. That way all the mean jihadists, who are currently in love with destroying America, will not get more outraged at America and do something stupid.
The whole thing is pathetically predictable in today's PC world. Sure we can rip Catholics, Jews and Jersey Shore cast members…..but Muslim extremists are a no go. Why can't we make fun of Muslims extremists or hold them accountable for being terrorists? Because they have this silly little game that the like to play that is called "We will blow up/shoot/crash airplanes in the name of Allah to kill Americans" .
The real story is this….if you want respect in this PC world….you better bring the pain. Pope Benedict are you listening?? To get everyone off this whole "A priest molested me thing"….just start putting some acid in the Holy Water fonts around the world…then they'll start showing some respect. Until that happens, you are the best punchline available.

The heads that need to roll were high ranking senior officers. Not just Hasan's supervisor, but folks in the chain of command. If that report expressed the full gravity of Hasan's radicalization as a jihadist and conversely revealing the gross oversight on the part of senior officials in overlooking this, there would be a call for greater action. Remember Hasan was at Walter Reed about the same time the Building 18 fiasco happened. You know, injured soldiers on Walter Reed's campus residing in deplorable conditions: rats, mold, roaches, etc. The Commanding Officer on down should have been reprimanded for this oversight. I didn't hear anything about it. They either retired or moved to another command. If these senior medical corp officers had no idea wounded service members were subjected to inexcusable living conditions and neglected in receiving proper care, why would you expect them to have taken appropriate action to remove a Muslim extremist from their ranks, especially after sinking big $$ in his medical school education? They'll make examples of chiefs, throw a lieutenant under the bus, but colonials on up? That would reflect badly on the entire command, suggesting a systemic failure of leadership within the entire medical corp. Nope. That's a can a worms they don't want opened. But someone should. We owe it to the our wounded warriors.
I thought they all quit smoking and want to make everyone else quit too!
This is outrageous. A PC infected military.is what allowed the slaughter, and now this?
What's next–motive won't be allowed at the trial?
I hate these bastards.
Now THIS is scary! A Muslim terrorists murdered people. A Muslim terrorist didn't hit them with bean bags and speak rudely to them – he murdered them. A Muslim terrorist screamed 'Allah Akbar' and shot bullets into these screaming people, blowing their heads off and killing them, including a pregnant woman. He was a Muslim terrorist. He wasn't a Seventh Day Adventist or a practicing Buddhist – he was a Muslim and he performed an act of bloody terrorism. And yet the Army brass can-not-speak-it-out-loud?
Know why it's scary? Because if you can't speak of the enemy, you can't stop him. And if you can't stop him, he'll do it again.
Would like to think this will happen. But when Togo West(the ridiculously-named PC Dem hack Secretary of the Army under Clinton who issued this report) won't even mention Islam, Jihad nor Hasan's name, nothing's changed. No military officer is going to put his head on the PC chopping block by calling out infiltrators like Hassan. The PC considerations are still in place. West's testimony was beyond a joke. No Evangelicals, Catholics or Jews in the military espouse anything remotely as evil as this, and to ignore the truth is criminal. But no one can say IT'S ISLAM without killing their career.
And Obummer refuses to call these terrorists….terrorists. Feeling safer under Obama rule?
The true terrorist invading American is the one that the morons of this nation elected as their president and messiah.
If you thought PC was alive and well in the 70s and 80s, I don't want to know how bad it must be now after Tailhook and the Clinton Administrations.
Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.
No tax money for terrorist lawyers! Keep Gitmo open. Enhanced interrogations for Crotch Bomber — make it a lottery for ordinary citizens to conduct these "sessions". I'm sure it would bring in a lot of revenue for stretched governmental budgets!
As the reporter who used to cover Fort Hood until June, I can say that the PC police have blanket all ranks from Lieutenant all the way to the top…It is the reason so many soldiers suffer in silence and so many Hasans are still out there waiting
"War. It's FANTastic!"

it wouldn't be wasting them if you used said cigarettes on them as suppositories. Lit end first of course.
F@#K Yeah!

No, they'll never learn. Denial is their first defensive knee-jerk reaction …………… Hanzo
While I agree with your point, I don't think you'll see anything close to the truth till the left has been stuffed back down its rabbit hole as happened following Carter.
The left doesn't deal in facts, their currency is emotions. And their specialty if riling up emotions. Other than hope and change I can't remember the last time I heard anything positive out of them.
Togo West's brothers are Takeout and Doggie Bag West.
We will kill them until they LIKE it… then we'll stop.
Crap all dressed up and with lipstick is still crap. In my dictionary of acronyms, PC stands for Postulating Crap.
No, they're now "man-caused disaster facilitators."
Especially wiht Meryl Streep heading up the gaggle of crap.. ugh, I am still traumatized by it. (Weeps silently)
I logged in just to give you a thumbs up!!!
Thanks, doll!
"They" are basically government bureacrats. They don´t even know that there is something to learn.
Our respect for those who put their life on the line should not obscure one fact: The closer you get to the top, the more the military becomes just another government bureaucracy. I have not served, but I know people who have and they agree.
Not 13, 14!

You should really find a way to put a link to the report. This bit about actions and effects, not…with motivations. That's in quotes. I would expect that you took that from the report? But then I'm not sure. Who the heck knows.
Lousy reporting.
I have NO DOUBT that the series of events that lead up to Fort Hood was due to a plague of political correctness that has infested our military.
But the nature of this PC isn't something that is Pro-Islam. No, its much more your basic politically correct "don't rock the boat" run of the mill bureaucratic spinelessness.
And I fear that this report is more of the same. Wish we could hear about the actual report rather than this author's exercise in Muslim-bashing.
