During an interview with The New York Times’ The Caucus blog – whatever that is – Dan Pfeiffer (no relation to Michelle, darn it, she has my sweater), explained his revolutionary point of view toward FNC.
“I have the same view of Fox that Anita [Dunn] had, which is that Fox is not a traditional news organization. They have a point of view. That point of view pervades the entire network both the opinion shows… but also through the newscasts during the day,” Pfeiffer said.
The man who refuses to learn from history, continued on with his cogent analysis…
“We don’t feel an obligation to treat them like we would treat a CNN or an ABC or an NBC or a traditional news organization. But there are times when it would make sense to communicate with them and appear on the network.”
Well, thanks for that. Glad to know “there are times” when the White House might drop Fox News a line about upcoming Easter egg hunts and what not.
Anyway, let’s examine this hypocrisy for what it is. Oh yeah, hypocrisy
Fact is, if Dan feels this way about Fox News, he should feel the same about MSNBC, a sweaty outfit covered in a burqa of bias. Also, you might include: NPR, PBS, NBC, ABC CNN, Hollywood, the arts, the guy who works at Starbucks, my Pilates instructor (he smells like votive candles) and anyone from 60 Minutes. Oh, and why not those kids at Newsweek or Time, who turned their rags into Tigerbeat “Obama Collector editions.” The only things missing were dream journal stickers.
Look, Obama has gotten better media coverage than God (or Bono), but the White House is pissed they can’t have everything. They’re like the angry kid on the playground who wants to take his ball and go home if he can’t pitch, bat clean up and keep score. And that’s partly why FNC regularly beats CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined in total viewers every weeknight during prime time. Fox News may be the Goliath, but the White House keeps making it look like David. Which is kinda awesome, but not for them.
And if you disagree with me, you’re probably a racist homophobe who wears fur.

Kicking Fox is always a favorite on the left. I have friends who will insist something did not happen if its broadcast on Fox. Even if its also on CNN. Literately they'll say it never happened, I assume because Fox is supposed to be in capable of telling the truth.
In a way, I do feel sorry for them. Imagine having to go through life ignoring reality in order to keep your head on straight?

Wow partisan hackery at it's best. Neither FNC or MSNBC are real news channels. In fact I would say none of it is really news. The way most of it works is a journalist forms an opinion, (or their boss forms it for them) then they go out and find quotes and facts to support the conclusion they themselves have already come to. If you guys think MSNBC is partisan but FNC isn't then you cannot ever tell anybody else to "wake up" or whatever else Beckbots say to people when they've ran out of arguments.

Liberals, are the biggest adolesent crybabies when someone dares to print or speak the truth of their lies. But you know, he's right about Fox not being today's traditional news network. And thank the Lord! Especially considering the charlatan Obama shill networks this idiot considers "Traditional" today.
So FOX is singled out for special treatment. Wear it as a badge of honor.
To some extent I would agree with you. Every one's own personal opinions are based upon their own personal experiences. And it is part of human nature to search out those who agree with you, arguably nicer instinct than to search out people who piss you off to no end.
I believe the point is not that some media outlets are biased while others are not, but rather for as long as I've been alive, CBS, NBC, ABC, later PBS, claimed to be of the highest degree of journalism. At least publicly, they claimed the moral high ground, were beyond reproach, and yet strangely, never really challenged on it.
All the other little cable outlets like CNBC, MSBC, CNN, et. al. have laid claim to that strangely never challenged claim.
The internet, talk radio, the alternate news media outlets have been broadcasting what the stalwarts of the gold standard of news have decided is not worthy of being disseminated to the unwashed masses. And its proved at least to me beyond a shadow of a doubt, they have a huge bias.
And that's the maddening part. It's obvious they are so biased they sleep in Obama underoos.
Let me ask you – do you believe in man-caused global warming? If so, did you hear about Climategate from the MSM? My guess is perhaps a mention, and that's about it. I watched, and listened, and all I heard was a quick analysis of why the story was so unimportant.
If you do believe that humans are on the verge of destroying the world, are you as mad as hell at those scientists who obviously rigged their studies? How about the 'unbiased" MSM who basically told us not to worry our pretty little heads about it.
Where is the outrage on the left over this kind of stuff?
This effort to continue to TRY to undermine Fox News is emblematic of this whole corrupt administration – Fox is the last network doing the work of a news network – and this control freak in the White House can't stand that.
I would hope the next conservative President, or even just the next Republican would have the same attitude toward hostile news outlets, but if that happened, we'd never hear from the poor chap or lady. For a conservative to shut out the media like Obama does, people would start to question if they were dead.
I remember laughing heartily when Obama announced his plans with FOX, especially since the same side of the political aisle complained and bemoaned for hours on end about how Bush favored FOX. Obama favors the biased media at the complete expense of the fair media. It's a sad dichotomy and even sadder that no one has called him out on it.

Objectivity has certainly gone out the window in any kind of journalism today, so let's embrace that fact. I won't mind of the state run media finally comes out of the closet and admits they're stooges for Comrade Obama's administration.
I heard Brit Hume actually say Fox News leaned right, but tried to keep it "fair and balanced."
Let all the media come clean on how they lean.
I was watching Fox last night and on Geraldo (he was not there but Coulter was informed everyone he was behind stating the comment) highlighted Rush stating that the Obama administration was excited about the political benefits of helping Haiti. The comment was discussed in a capacity hegative to Rush and Coulter complained more about Geraldo not using one of her quotes rather than defend Rush. This is a News Show.
On Hannity Juan Williams was on the panel and practically spoonfeeding the "It's Wall Street" line of the administration and I have yet to hear someone tell Bob Beckel to shut up. Fox is Conservative in its Outlook but the liberals on the show are allowed their viewpoints. I cannot remember a conservative ever being allowed to make statements on the MSM networks without being interrupted and insulted in some way. So as to ADY comment I think he has never watched Fox News.

There are LOADS of liberals on Fox – NIGHTLY. They spew, we rage, but we get an informed, rounded view.
David Gergan doesn't count as a "conservative" when he goes on MSNBC or CNN.
Related to the meme of Greg's argument here I was checking the News Sites on the web tday for any indication on how the Massachusetts Senate race was going. FOX had the article on the front Web Page and there were four different ones regarding the race featured throughout the day.
MSNBC and CNN did not have any artcle on the front web page and not even a link to one at the bottom. You could find one in the Politics section but it focused more on the effects on the healthcare bill if MA THA lost. The MSN messenger search page had an article on this highlighted. Just goes to prove Greg's point.
By the way Greg if you are not a homophobic racist are you still allowed to wear fur.

The only thing I can think of that is non traditional about FOX News, as opposed to the LSM, is that they aren't openly hostile to conservatives and/or the Republican party. There is a difference in how FOX covers straight news, and their opinion shows, which don't hide their agenda.
Obama's greatest weakness is his inability to surround himself with those who can offset his many weaknesses.

Well, in these situations, FOX is at an unfair advantage.
If you just let a modern liberal speak their mind, in front of rational, reasonable people, it becomes very obvious, very soon, who the idiot is. So of course Fox is happy to have them ramble on.
On modern liberal networks they know how dangerous it is to let their audience hear rational debate. Some one watching might just stop and sat to themselves 'Hey you know what? That kind of makes sense to me.'
So they have to shut down conservatives ASAP.
Why should FOX care if they are treated as a "traditional" news outlet? I say they should go with the "not your average news source" and run with it. They don't need inside status. They just need to do the news.

Another point of contention that makes me ill is the fact that he considers MSNBC a news organization? Really, why not Fox? They have Beck, OReilly and Hannity who are opinionated journalists who slant a little right. MSNBC has that dude Maddow, that quack Olbermann, that drone Matthews and realistically the rest of their staff as well. What makes them different than Fox? This whole "Fox News isn't a real news network" thing is a simple ploy to make voters forget that the Democrats have the power in both the House and the Senate to pass whatever they want. The Republicans couldn't stop them if they wanted to. It is precisely that reason that the White House is targeting Fox….they aren't going to admit that their planned policies will directly lead to a Democratic *ss whooping being handed down.
