Danny Glover's gettin' too old for this shit.

I have to say, of all the many liberal actors who are still able to do their acting jobs well, Glover always struck me as only having one constant expression: that of someone who's got a bomb strapped to his tuchis 24/7 and wants someone else to do something about it.

I was fortunate to also hear his Copenhagen rant today (despite his not being given nearly the air time of Pat Roberson). He sounds so, well, I can't be impolite enough to write it here.

Poor Danny Glover. It's so sad when a man becomes overwhelmed by his own irrelevance.

What tool? Glover can be a total moron all by himself and doesn't need anyone else telling him what to do in order to accomplish that.

Thank you, Danny Glover, for matching on the Stupidity Scale Pat Robertson's theory about devil-worshiping Haitians of 200 years ago being responsible for this week's earthquake. Glover's theory ties Robertson's with a score of 10/10, the highest possible ranking of stupidity. Glover was apparently inspired by the DU poster of a few years ago who said the devastating Asian sunami was a response to the Iraq War.

Set aside all the other stupid parts of Glover's theory that the Haitian earthquake was caused by the Copenhagen conference failure, and consider Glover's "reasoning": the world failed to hammer out a plan to cut "greenhouse gas" emissions, so Mother Earth responded by…smiting the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere? A nation made up of people mostly of African descent?

I thought wealthy nations and/or white people were responsible for "global warming". I guess Danny Glover's Gaia/Earth Spirit didn't get the memo.

Hey Danny, why don't you go down and see your good buddy Hugo about fixing all the suffering in Haiti? Good luck with that, and while you're there, why don't you set up permanent residency and stay.

Has Olbermann taken Glover to task like he did to Pat Robertson? I will not hold my breath waiting for one of KO's characteristic rants, but climate change is just as much a religion to Glover as Christianity is to Robertson.

Yes, the tool used to do sports on ESPN, and still does some football coverage which is painful to watch, and so, when he comes on, I turn the channel.

I held a paper bag to my mouth as I listened to Glover. It was pure goof to hear him blame an earthquake on the Copenhagen conference. But I really hurled when I listened to him insist that Cuba and Venezuela had sent help ahead of the United States.

Yeah, right. Haiti is going to get help from a dictator who's turned Cuba into such a living hell mothers swim with their children through shark infested waters to escape. And Haiti is going to get help from a lunatic who's trashed Venezuela's economy so badly toilet paper is rationed and the currency lost half its value in a week! Yup – right. One boatload of medical supplies from those two countries sailing right at ya, Haiti. But when it lands, don't be surprised if the staff all look like Orwell's pigs.

Danny Glover has proven to be a very useful idiot of the left. Being smart is not his strong suit. His acting is mediocre and his opinions are wack. The only thing Danny has is his mouth and that doesn't seem to work too well lately. I can't think of even noe movie where he actually stood out. Even all the Lethal Weapon movies didn't make it for him. If Mel wasn't there, Danny would be forgotten.

As a Nation that is in a Shooting War on Several Fronts, we should pass on this Haiti business. Since the US is the biggest Evil in the World. Besides the Army Navy/Marines and Air Force along with the Coast Guard are to busy with said war. Let Hugo take care of it, he has a big mouth. And the reset of Europe for that matter. As for Danny, he is just pissed that Ole Mel is not only an actor but a very good director and producer as well, he could run any Studio and it would be profitable and he is a lot richer too. I think Fox kept things in perspective and balanced on this one. Keith Oglemen and Anderson Pooper weren't very convincing in their attempts at empathy as they re-ran the same footage over and over while asking the same questions and getting the same answers from the same idiots over and over and over again.

It's apparent to me that Eric Burns would rather watch Fox news and report on that, then doing something himself. You wasted your breath Eric Burns, you could have been a bit more compassionate to the people of Haiti.

As for Fox coverage, or any coverage – sure I want to hear what is going on, I want to get updates and I don't mind human interest stories where you hear about someone getting rescued, etc.

But 24/7 coverage! It's like when KABC-TV insists on pre-empting your entire afternoon to show you a slow car chase through a hospital parking lot, or going on endlessly about the fires, speculating and yapping about the same damn thing hour after hour. When something new happens, then you can let me know!

Yes, cover it, but it's not the only thing going on in the world. Give me numbers to call to donate, give up me updates. But I see nothing wrong with Fox's coverage. Media Matters has nothing better to do than make stuff up.

Bulldoze damaged area and biuld condos and retirement communities for the displaced UAW employees. GM saves on retirement payouts Gov saves on rebuilding Detroit. Public safety

Bush was trashed unrelentingly by the likes of Burns, but it seems to me Obama's response to the devastation in Haiti has been, like his response to every crisis and emergency — total inadequacy.

Why wasn't the 82nd Airborne dropped into Haiti on Wednesday morning along with supplies and equipment?

Why have three and a half days passed without these people being given food and water?

The Katrina victims at least had shelter in the dome; the Haitians are sleeping in the open.

Why did Franklin Graham (who was delivering aid) have to circle the airport so long he had to return to FL?

Why was HIS plane circling behind the plane carrying the search and rescue teams?

Why are search and rescue teams still stuck in Texas and Ohio waiting for transportation?

Why hasn't a hospital ship been quickly rigged with calls out to retired and semi-retired doctors who would live on the ship and volunteer to help these people? (To put them ashore only would require MORE security and security is being stretched as it is).

As you posited, why is Obama spending time in MA trying to get one more incompetent elected to the Senate? We already have 59 at least.

Last, and most important — why hasn't the "mainstream" media noticed that Obama has done less than Bush for people in more dire need than those who suffered a hurricane that gave them three days warning?

I am glad FOX does not drop everything every time a disaster happens. The World does go on. MSM and the Democrats are opportunists who use disasters like Haiti to sneak things past the public. FOX runs 24/7 and has plenty of coverage about Haiti, without devoting every second of their prime time to it.

The last time I heard about Glover, he was whining that he couldn't get good acting gigs because he is Black. Who the heck is this guy's agent? I want to be entertained by actors who don't evoke a lip curling "eyuuuuu" when appearing on the big screen.

So when it comes out that Glover was not claiming that the earthquake was caused by global warming, but merely that we can expect more disaster on this scale in the future should global warming come to pass, will you call yourself a tool?

And you know how it works with famous people – left and right – who put their foots in their mouthses. As soon as somebody calls them on it, it's "Oh, that's not what I meant, it was taken out of context, my enemies purposely misquoted me," etc., etc.

But I get your point. People are always saying and writing stupid things that they regret – things that didn't come out like they were supposed to. And the assumption among journalists and others is that those things are like Freudian slips. They supposedly tell us how the speaker *really* feels or thinks about something. Then the speaker gets smeared as a hypocrite. Well, sometimes that's true and sometimes it's not.

Still, given Danny's history of making bizarre statements I'd say the probability is that he meant exactly what he said. Nice if he didn't, but I'll wait to change my mind.
